West Brom v Leicester Premier League Preview, 10th March 3.00pm
Is anything that West Brom could come up with at the moment just a case of too little too late? They are rock bottom of the Premier League with a five-match losing streak going but they have kept Alan Pardew around for at least this game. Leicester are going through an odd winless streak of form though, unable to raise enough to have won some relatively easy home games recently. How will they fare at the Hawthorns?
West Brom v Leicester Betting Odds*
Leicester 6/4, West Brom 15/8, Draw 11/5* (Betting Odds taken at 11:16 p.m. on March 6th, 2018)
West Brom News and Form
The Baggies are now on a five-match losing streak in the top flight having lost 1-0 out at Watford last weekend. It was another devastating blow to them and they look down and out and this could be Alan Pardew’s last game in charge of them. The Baggies have lost their last two home games back to back, one goal margin defeats against Southampton and Huddersfield, so that does paint a bit of a picture for what could happen in this one. The Baggies have only won twice at the Hawthorns this season in total with a W2 D7 L5 record there and they have won only one of their last thirteen there. It is really hard to see where a revival is going from but they have scored in each of their last three home games, and over 2.5 goals because of that is at 23/20 odds with bet365* (Betting Odds taken at 10:33 p.m. on March 7th, 2018), which could be worth a flutter because it is likely that the Baggies will get exposed at the back. The Baggies have scored in five of their last six home games, so the both teams to score option could offer something too. In total West Brom have netted just fifteen goals in fourteen home games and their output has improved somewhat under Pardew. Their defence just isn’t giving them a chance at anything and they will be at risk once again in this one.
Leicester News and Form
The Foxes have missed the boat a few times lately with three draws in their last four games, with each of those ties happening at home against sides in the bottom half of the table. Each of those draws were by a 1-1 scoreline and in the bet365 correct score market the shortest priced option is indeed a 1-1 draw at 11/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 10:33 p.m. on March 7th, 2018). The Foxes are W3 D5 L6 for the season out on the road in the Premier League and they have lost four of their last five (D1). They did score exactly one goal in each of those four defeats in that sequence though. The half time draw is a decent option for the game as the Foxes have been level at the break in ten of their away games this season. They have shipped 64% of their away goals after the halftime break this term. There has been no clean sheet for Leicester now in any of their last five league games, but they are on a six-match scoring streak so you imagine that they should hold their own against the bottom side. Jamie Vardy has scored Leicesters last three away goals.
West Brom v Leicester Head to Head
There was a 1-1 draw at the King Power between the two of them back in October and things are pretty even between the two of them from recent Premier League classes. Leicester are W3 D2 L2 up in the head to head against the Baggies from all previous Premier League clashes. The Baggies have lost each of the three previous Premier League home games against Leicester.
Who will win – West Brom v Leicester Predictions
West Brom don’t look capable of winning a game at the moment and as Leicester can’t seem to do that at the moment either, then the draw has the most appeal in this game. A point at this stage of the game really isn’t going to help the Baggies out of their mess.
