Watford v West Ham Prediction & Betting Tips – 19th November 201715th November 2017 / lee
Watford v West Ham Premier League, 19th November 4.00pm
Watford’s bright start is just starting to dissipate a little bit with them having lost their last three games on the bounce. But they have a shot at snapping that form as they face the struggling West Ham on Sunday at Vicarage Road. David Moyes will take charge of the Hammers for the first time in this one and will be hoping for something in this game to pull the club out of the relegation zone. Watford are 21/20 at bet365 to win the game, with the draw at 23/10 and West Ham at 13/5
Watford v West Ham Betting Tips
The Hornets will look to ease some pressure off themselves after having lost their last three Premier League games. Everton seems to be on the prowl for boss Marco Silva as well which would be a huge loss for them after Watford only picked him up in the Summer. At home, this season in the Premier League Watford have posted a W1 D2 L2 record their big success on home soil coming against Arsenal. But they followed that up with a disappointing 1-0 loss in their following home game against Stoke, despite dominating the match. In total, the Hornets have given up eight goals in their three league games and both teams to score at bet365 in this fixture looks a pretty viable option at a price of 7/10. Watford average exactly a goal per game at Vicarage Road this season but have conceded over two per game on average. Over 2.5 goals at bet365 looks a good way to swing at a price of 9/10 and neither defence has been up to a high standard as of late. In the last four Premier League meetings between Watford and West Ham, the Hornet’s slightly edge things with a W2 D1 L1 record.
Last Six Premier League Head to Head
Watford 1 – 1 West Ham
West Ham 2 – 4 Watford
West Ham 3 – 1 Watford
Watford 2 – 0 West Ham
West Ham 0 – 1 Watford
Watford 1 – 1 West Ham
Watford have produced a couple of players who have really stood out this season and they are Richarlison and Doucoure who are 15/8 and 3/1 respectively in the anytime goalscorer market. They are joint top scorers for the club with four goals each, but Richarlison is looking for his first home goal of the season, while three of Doucoure’s four league strikes have come away. Andre Gray, who has not really worked out so far since his move from Burnley is the bet365 first goalscorer favourite at a price of 5/1. Watford have conceded at least one goal now in each of their last seven matches and that is a problem which needs fixing. But they have been playing some positive stuff going forward, without necessarily getting the rewards that their play has deserved. On average they have been leading for just 8.6 minutes per game at home this season, having scored only the two first half goals at Vicarage Road.

So the Hammers start life under David Moyes. It is expected that he will come in and make them harder to beat, but he doesn’t have the reputation of being a manager that is going to produce an exciting attacking game. The move by West Ham seems to have been one met with a lot of skepticism over whether or not the former Everton boss is the right man for the job after dragging Sunderland down the Championship in his last Premier League managerial stint. The hammers are currently in the bottom three of the Premier League and have collected only the one win in their last eight matches, a 1-0 home success over Swansea. West Ham’s defence has taken a battering this season and currently have the worst defensive record in the top flight, so that is likely to be where Moyes will try and start fixing things.
But West Ham haven’t been good enough going forward to try and take away from their attack for the sake of defence. West Ham have conceded at least three goals on six different occasions this season and they have all been matches which the east London club have lost. They have yet to taste victory out on the road this season with a D3 L3 record from their six games, but they are on a three match drawing streak away from home. In the bet365 correct score market, a 1-1 draw is a short 6/1 price and that has some appeal while a Watford 2-1 is right there at 17/2. Chicharito is their top scorer with four goals and three of those have been on the road, but he is a doubt after picking up an injury on international duty with Mexico. He and Andy Carroll are 2/1 in the anytime goalscorer market of the Hammers.
Who will win – Watford v West Ham Predictions
Watford to win: The Hornets need their fortunes to change and they can make it happen in this one. They have shown on enough occasions that they can put the ball in the back of the net and Moyes is going to need time to fix the massive problems with West Ham’s defence. Home win and both teams to score.
