Watford News and Form

The Hornets drew again last weekend as they played out a 0-0 draw at Brighton. They came under some pressure in the game as well, keeper Ben Foster keeping Watford in it. That is four draw matches in their last six played now for Watford (W1 D1). However, their performances at Vicarage Road against teams currently in the top half of the table are worth noting. They are W1 L5 from six against top ten opponents this season. So that’s been a pretty poor return. Overall they have a W5 D2 L5 home return.

Watford have scored 16 home goals and have conceded 18. A high percentage of 75% of their games at Vicarage Road have gone over 2.5 goals. They have earned a clean sheet in a quarter of their home games and in two of their last three home and away combined. Three of Watford’s five home wins have been by a one-goal margin. The Hornets have scored 69% of their goals at home in the second half of fixtures this season. Just four times they have opened the scoring at home and they have conceded in 75% of home fixtures.

Watford v Everton Head to Head

There was an entertaining 2-2 draw between these two earlier this season
Watford have won their last two at home against Everton, unbeaten in three
Both teams have scored in five of the last seven meetings
Six of the last eight comings-together have gone over 2.5 goals

Everton News and Form

The Toffees lost against Wolves last weekend in the top flight and then had an extra shift in midweek, suffering another loss against Manchester City. That has left Everton with a W3 L5 record in their last eight top-flight games. Overall this season they have only managed to put together a W3 D3 L6 record on their travels. It has been three losses in their last four on the road, the only exception being a 1-0 win out at bottom side Huddersfield. Everton still haven’t won an away game this season against any of the current top-ten side.

Everton have returned 15 goals in their away games this season, having conceded 19. They have only earned the two clean sheets away from Goodison Park in this season’s EPL. They have been level at the break in eight of their thirteen road games. Six of those eight were 0-0 half time scores. Their loss at Man City on Wednesday saw them have a four-match scoring streak snapped. Everton have conceded a heavy bulk of their away goals this season in the second half of fixtures.

Who will win – Watford v Everton Predictions

Everton have been in decline but Watford have struggled for wins at home against the better sides this season. The thing about the Hornets is that they are capable of playing well at times and may have enough to edge this.
