Watford News and Form

Watford got their first point of the campaign in their final match before the international break. That was from a 1-1 draw out at Newcastle. In their two home games so far they have lost 3-0 against Brighton and 3-1 against West Brom. So their defence seriously needs to be fixed as it has looked atrocious at times. In total, they have conceded eight in their four games. Watford’s two goals this season have both come in the first half of fixtures.

Taking into consideration their form from last season, Watford have lost their last four Premier League home games and they have conceded at least three goals in each of their last three at Vicarage Road. Each of their last four at home have ended up going over 2.5 goals. They will likely go back to a little more rigid 4-4-2 under Flores, which is how he ran things in his previous stint with them. In total it is an eight-match winless streak of league form from Watford (D2 L6).

Watford v Arsenal Head to Head

Watford have failed to score in their last three games against Arsenal (L3)
Seven of the last nine meetings have ended up over 2.5 goals
Arsenal have won eight of the last ten EPL meetings with Watford
Both teams have scored in three of the last eight EPL meetings

Arsenal News and Form

The Gunners had a couple of tough games just before the international break. In those two fixtures, they lost 3-1 against Liverpool and played out a 2-2 draw against Spurs. Arsenal deserve some credit for the way that they fought back in the North London derby as they had been 2-0 down before half time. The Gunners have at least struck the back of the net in all four league games this season, with each of their last three fixtures going over 2.5 goals. That’s probably going to be a feature of their games this season.

Once again they don’t look great at the back. Both of Arsenal’s away goals this season were scored in the first half of games. The Gunners have taken a win in all but one of their last seven away games against Watford in all competitions and are on a run of three straight clean sheets against them. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is their top scorer with a three-goal haul this season. Strike partner Alexandre Lacazaette has netted twice.

Watford v Arsenal Tips & Odds

Arsenal to win & both teams to score at 12/5

Who will win – Watford v Arsenal Predictions

The Hornets may need some time to adjust to their new old boss coming in. Arsenal definitely carries more of an attacking threat and can collect the victory. It may be worth looking at it as a game producing plenty of goals as either side are great at the back. Away win.
