Wales v Panama International Friendly, 14th November
After easily being brushed aside in a friendly against France, the Welsh can look for a bit of redemption as they face up to Panama on home soil on Tuesday. Can Wales sign off for the year with a victory under their belt? The Central Americans produced a resilient defiance through their successful World Cup qualification campaign and would be happy enough with a solid draw in this one. Wales are 8/13 to win, with the draw at 13/5 and Panama are 5/1.
Wales v Panama Betting Tips
The Welsh get a chance to at least round off the year on a positive. They will still be feeling the hurt of having missed out on the World Cup next year of course. This will be the first ever meeting between the two nations and Wales really need to give themselves a boost after losing their last two internationals. After that harrowing home loss against Ireland in their last World Cup qualifier, they went and lost 2-0 in Paris against France in a recent international friendly. More likely than not, this will be a low scoring fixture and under 2.5 goals at bet365 brings in a price of 1/2. The Welsh have returned just the five goals in their last six fixture now.
So any win for them probably isn’t going to be by a big margin. In the bet365 correct score market, a Wales 1-0 brings a price of 15/4 with a 0-0 draw as short as 6/1. Wales will be without Gareth Bale again, which does limit their output. There has been a suggestion that Chris Coleman may be ready to extend his tenure as Wales boss which will give everyone a lift. A nice win in this one would be a good end to the year regardless of recent disappointments. Wales are a quote of 13/10 at Bet365 to win to nil. The shortest priced option in the anytime goalscorer market is Sam Vokes at 9/5 with young Tom Bradshaw at 11/5. But they may have a tough time breaking down Panama.
Panama created history by reaching their first ever World Cup final after finishing third in CONCACAF. They are not a great goalscoring side by any stretch of the imagination and netted just nine goals in their ten qualifiers. But they are defensively pretty solid and they went unbeaten on home soil through their qualification campaign. They work hard at the back but there’s little output from them. They have lost four of their last five away games against and have won just one of their last eight games away from home, failing to score in four of their last five. So they aren’t going to turn up and really rattle the Welsh defence by any stretch of the imagination. But they will make the Welsh work had for everything.
Who will win – Wales v Panama Predictions
Draw: Panama don’t give up a lot but they are a pretty toothless side going forward. But Whales are missing Gareth Bale again and they may struggle to get much change out of the visitors. Settle for the draw.
