Wales v Croatia Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 13th October 7.45pm

Wales dropped some poor points away against Slovakia on Thursday and that leaves them three points back of the top two in Group E. But they do have a game in hand over the three teams above them. Croatia are topping the group by three points. Read our Wales v Croatia betting tips for more.

Wales News and Form

Wales played out a 1-1 draw in Slovakia on Thursday, having taken the lead in the first half of the fixture. It does leave them within touching distance of the top two, but there isn’t going to be an easy path to secure automatic qualification for next year’s Finals. Wales do have a game in hand though and because of Slovakia not playing in this round of action, Wales could jump up the table if they get a win.

But that win is going to be hard to get against a good Croatia side. Wales have only produced five goals in the group so far from their five games. They do hold the joint-best defensive record in Group E though along with Croatia. Wales have won their last four home games, all of those by a one-goal margin. They have remained undefeated in their last nine home qualifiers, conceding just one goal in their last five.

Wales v Croatia Head to Head

Croatia were 2-1 winners in the first group meeting
Wales have lost their last four against Croatia
Croatia have scored exactly two goals in each of their last four against Wales
Wales are D1 L4 in their overall head to head with the Croatians

Croatia News and Form

Croatia have posted a W4 D1 L1 record in the group, holding a goal difference of +8. They eased to a 3-0 win over Hungary on Thursday and are now sat in a very strong position with only the two games to play in the group. So it’s likely that they are going to be occupying one of the two automatic qualification places. Will they throw a spanner in the works of Wales’ ambitions?

Croatia took a 2-1 home win over Wales when they met earlier in the campaign, but it is worth a closer look at their away form. Their 4-0 group win in Slovakia, is the only victory that they have taken in their last six away games played (D2 L3). So they have not been travelling particularly well, which should give Wales some hope. Croatia have won just two of their last seven European Championship away qualifiers.

Wales v Croatia Tips & Odds

Draw match outright at 23/10
1-1 correct score at 5/1

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 11th, 2019 at 9:12 p.m.)

Who will win – Wales v Croatia Predictions

Wales may be able to hang on for a point in this one. Croatia haven’t been producing results away from home, and Wales do have a bit of home form behind them. It’s likely to be a low-scoring game, but the hosts can frustrate the Croatians.

Slovakia v Wales Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 10th October 7.45pm

Wales are battling to get themselves through to Euro 2020. A defeat on the road in this one on Thursday would be devastating for them. They go into the game trailing Slovakia by three points. Wales have played a game less than them, but a six-point gap to make up would be a mountain. Read our Slovakia v Wales betting tips for more.

Slovakia 11/8

Slovakia News and Form

Slovakia will be in a great position if they can get three points out of this one. They sit second in the group, trailing Croatia by a point. Earlier in the campaign, Slovakia suffered a 1-0 loss when they visited Wales so they need to get a bigger win than to hold the head to head tie-breaker advantage over Wales, if it comes down to that. Slovakia are W3 D0 L2 in the group, the other loss happening against Croatia.

Slovakia have taken only one victory in their last four European Championship home qualifiers (D1 L2) so haven’t been in hot home form. They have failed to score in three of those four as well. If you look at their overall home form to include all types of matches then they are W3 L1 in their last four. Slovakia have scored at least two goals in each of their last four successes at home.

Slovakia v Wales Head to Head

Wales have won the last three meetings
Slovakia are W1 L3 in the overall head to head with Wales
Three of the five previous meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
The one previous meeting in Croatia ended in a 5-2 win for Wales in 2007

Wales News and Form

Wales have a game in hand over everyone else, but that’s not going to help them out if they lose this fixture. The Welsh are W2 D2 in Group G and along with their victory over Slovakia, their one other success was a narrow success at home over Azerbaijan, with Gareth Bale sparing their blushes by netting the winner about five minutes from time. They have lost in Croatia and Hungary in their road games.

It is the road form that Wales have to be concerned about. They are W2 D1 L5 in their last eight away internationals. They are currently on a three-match losing streak on their travels as well. Wales have scored in just three of their last eight out on the road. Given that two of their last three defeats away from home have happened against Albania and Hungary, both 1-0 losses, punters are going to have a hard time trusting them again Slovakia.

Slovakia v Wales Tips & Odds

Home win at 11/8
Under 1.5 goals at 13/8

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 9th, 2019 at 3:20 p.m.)

Who will win – Slovakia v Wales Predictions

Slovakia are a tough side and are good enough to reverse their loss in Cardiff from earlier in the campaign. The away form of Wales just has not been there, it hasn’t been good enough and they are unlikely to have the goals in them to win this. Home win.

Wales v Belarus International Friendly Preview, 9th September 7.45pm

After a nervy time trying to get the better of Azerbaijan in the Euro 2020 qualifiers recently, Wales take a breather and go into a friendly on Monday. It is Belarus who are paying a visit who just snapped a losing streak with a win over Estonia. Read our Wales v Belarus betting tips for more.

Wales News and Form

Wales made really hard work of beating Azerbaijan at the Principality Stadium on Friday. The game looked to be heading for a draw until their talisman Gareth Bale rescued them with a winner six minutes from time. It was a pretty shoddy performance from the Welsh in a game which they had been expected to win comfortably.

Qualification to Euro 2020 still looks difficult for the Welsh, but that late strike from Bale keeps them in it. Wales are W3 L2 in their last five games now. All three wins in that sequence happened at home by a one-goal margin. It’s hard to know what to expect out of Wales in this one. Their form in friendly matches is atrocious. It is W1 D3 L5 in their last nine. They have won just one of their last five home friendlies (D2 L2).

Wales v Belarus Head to Head

Wales are W3 L1 in four previous games against Belarus
All three wins for Wales over Belarus were by a one-goal margin
This is the first friendly between the two nations

Belarus News and Form

Belarus earned a 2-1 win over Estonia, away from home, on Friday night in the European Championship qualifiers. That was some relief for them after having lost their opening four games of the campaign, scoring just the one goal in that losing sequence. Two of those draws were against Northern Ireland, the others against the Netherlands and Germany.

Belarus did have a good Nations League campaign, posting a W4 D2 record there (in a really weak group to be fair). It fell apart a bit after that for them. Belarus are W3 D2 L1 in their last five international friendly fixtures. They have lost just one of their last four on the road.

Wales v Belarus Tips & Odds

Who will win – Wales v Belarus Predictions

A difficult game to call under the circumstances. Wales were really poor against Azerbaijan on Friday, but at home against the level of opposition that Belarus are, it should be a win for Wales. Probably not by more than one goal margin though.

Wales v Azerbaijan Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 6th September 7.45pm

Wales are going to have to up their game in the Euro 2020 qualifiers because it hasn’t been a profitable start by them. The Welsh have taken the one win from their three games played. They will get a chance to cash in with three more points as they face bottom side Azerbaijan on Friday. Read our Wales v Azerbaijan betting tips for more.

Wales v Azerbaijan Betting Odds*

Wales 1/4
Draw 17/4
Azerbaijan 12/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 4th, 2019 at 3:52 a.m.)

Wales News and Form

The Welsh have a W1 L2 record from their three qualifiers so far. They started with a good home win over Slovakia, but then back to back defeats against Croatia and Hungary have hurt them badly. Those were both defeats by a one-goal margin only. It leaves the current form of Wales at W2 L3 in their last five played (competitive and friendly). They simply can’t afford to drop points in this, which is on paper, their easiest game of the qualification process.

The positive is, is that Wales have won their last two home games, 1-0 wins over Trinidad and Tobago and Slovakia. Even better is their home record in European Championship qualifiers. Wales are on a big eight-match undefeated streak of home form in such matches, winning six of those eight. So that’s fantastic. They have conceded just one goal in total in their last eight home European Championship qualifiers as well.

Wales v Azerbaijan Head to Head

Wales are on a three-match winning streak against Azerbaijan
This is the first meeting since the 2010 World Cup qualifiers
Azerbaijan have scored in just one of their six previous games against Wales
Wales are W5 D1 L0 in the head to head

Azerbaijan News and Form

Azerbaijan are bottom of Group E in the qualifiers and have no points on the board. Across their three games played they have conceded a total of ten goals. They opened with a 2-1 loss at Croatia, not a bad result at all from them, but went on to lose home games against Hungary 3-1 and Slovakia 5-1 so it has gotten worse and worse for them. Azerbaijan are now D1 L4 in their last five games played, competitive and friendly.

They had been on a good six match undefeated streak of form before that, after putting together a good Nations League campaign (W3 D3), which wasn’t enough to see them win their group. Azerbaijan are winless in their last eight European Championship qualifiers (D3 L5), losing the last five on the trot. They are still looking for their first-ever win in a European Championship qualifier away match, having only avoided defeat four times on their travels since 1994.

Wales v Azerbaijan Tips & Odds

Wales to win to nil at 4/6
2-0 Wales Correct Score at 4/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 4th, 2019 at 3:52 a.m.)

Who will win – Wales v Azerbaijan Predictions

Wales quite simply have to take their chances on home soil in this one against a team who are currently out of form. The Dragons don’t look to have a great deal of scoring threat themselves but can collect three points in a low-scoring game. Wales to win to nil.

Hungary v Wales Euro 2020 qualifiers Preview, 11th June 7.45pm

Hungary News and Form

Hungary are W2 L1 from their three qualifications matches so far. One of those wins were on home soil against Croatia, a superb 2-1 success. That is four wins in their last five games now that Hungary have collected so they are in pretty good shape at the moment (l1). The one defeat that they suffered in that sequence was a 2-0 away defeat at Slovakia in their open Euro 2020 qualifiers. They are currently on a four-match winning streak at home it is worth noting. Hungary scored exactly two goals in each of those home wins.

Back in the nations League, Hungary finished second behind Finland and they did claim a win in all three of their home games (Finland, Greece and Estonia). So they may very well present a bit of a challenge for the Welsh in this fixture. A win would actually leave them in a pretty strong position, but they have already played a game more than Wales have done in the group.

Hungary v Wales Head to Head

The last meeting was in 2005, Wales winning 2-0 in a home friendly
Wales have won the last two meetings with Hungary
The last competitive meetings between them was in Euro ‘76 qualifiers
Wales are W5 D2 L3 from their previous games against Hungary

Wales News and Form

Wales basically threw points away in Croatia. They lost 2-1 there because of some bad defending. David Brooks got their consolation in the 77th minute of the fixture. Even though they were heavily second best in terms of possession in the game, they did produce six shots on target against the two from Croatia. That defeat came after Wales had opened their Euro 2020 qualifiers with a home success over Slakova.

Wales are W4 L5 in their last nine games so they are hit and miss. They do have problems in getting enough goals. They haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last eight fixtures now. Walse have lost three of their last four away games as well now, scoring just the two goals in that sequence of fixtures. This is a big game for them at this stage. A win puts them level on points with Hungary, but still with a game in hand over them. Basically, anything out of this away game would be a decent return for the Welsh, especially considering the home form that Hungary have been in.

Hungary v Wales Tips & Odds

Hungary to win by a one-goal margin at 3/1
Under 2.5 goals at 8/15
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 9th, 2019 at 10:18 p.m.)

Who will win – Hungary v Wales Predictions

This is not an easy game for the Welsh here. Hungary should be more than a match for them on the night. The temptation is to simply go with the home side here, especially as underdogs because Wales do struggle to get themselves goals. Home win.

Croatia v Wales Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 8th June 2.00pm

Croatia have had mixed fortunes at the start of their Euro 2020 qualification campaign, winning one and losing one. This will be a big home game for them over the Welsh, who are level on points with them but having had played a game less. Equally then for Wales, this is a chance to gain a bit of control at the top of the group. Read our Croatia v Wales betting tips for more.

Croatia v Wales Betting Odds*

Croatia 4/7
Draw 11/4
Wales 5/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 4th, 2019 at 9:22 p.m.)

Croatia News and Form

Croatia opened their campaign with a 2-1 home win over Azerbaijan. They had to fight back from being behind in that game as well. Then came a blow in their second fixture as they lost 2-1 out in Hungary. That leaves them with a bit of a mixed run of form, going W3 D2 L3 in their last eight games. So there has been a natural drop off from them after that epic run to the World Cup Final last summer. They have lost two of their last three games played now which includes their loss against England in their final Nations League match.

Croatia found themselves bottom of their Nations League group behind England and Spain. They were still a tough side to beat there as they took a 3 -2 home win over Spain, having lost 6-0 to them away from home. Then they looked on course for a win at Wembley before England stuck back in the final fifteen minutes to topple them. There has been no clean sheet from Croatia in any of their last five games. However they have scored in each of those fixtures in that sequence.

Croatia v Wales Head to Head

Croatia are W3 D1 from their four previous games against Wales
Croatia have beat Wales in each of the last three meetings
Wales have collected exactly two goals in each of their last three against Croatia
This will be the first meeting since the World Cup 2014 qualifiers

Wales News and Form

This will be the second game in the Euro 2020 qualifier for Wales. They opened with a home win over Slovakia which was so important for them. The Welsh hadn’t been in the greatest of form, so needed that lift. They had lost four of six games prior to that win over Slovakia. Each of the last three wins that Wales have earned have all been by a 1-0 scoreline. They have taken a clean sheet in four for their last five players, so that has been on positive aspect of their game.

They are looking like a side who are struggling for goals at the moment though. Back in the Nations League, they posted a W2 L2 record, beating Ireland twice and losing twice against Denmark. Clearly, their home form in this qualification group is going to be crucial for them and this will be the toughest of the away games in the entire campaign. A point out of it wouldn’t be a disaster for the Welsh.

Croatia v Wales Tips & Odds

Croatia to win by a one-goal margin at 12/5
Under 1.5 goals at 2/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 4th, 2019 at 9:22 p.m.)

Who will win – Croatia v Wales Predictions

Wales may not have the scoring power going forward to be able to topple the Croatians away from home. Croatia are probably going to have enough in the bank to get the win, but there’s every chance that Wales are going to keep things tight. The one goal margin for the home win looks to have good appeal.

Wales v Slovakia Preview

It is a big night Wales on home soil as they start their Euro 2020 qualification campaign against Slovakia. The Dragons need a good win in this game to get themselves up and running with some early momentum. This game is in Group E of qualification and also joining the Welsh and Slovakians in the group are Croatia, Azerbaijan and Hungary. Wales earned a 1-0 international friendly victory over Trinidad and Tobago in midweek, the Welsh sending out an under-strength side. In their last six games, Wales have lost 4 and won 2. In Cardiff, they have lost two of their last three.

During their UEFA Nations League campaign Wales took a 4-1 victory over Ireland before losing 2-1 against Denmark in their home fixtures. Wales have only managed to score more than one goal in two of their last 10 internationals. They have produced at least one goal in four of their last five played though. Their main man Gareth Bale is the 7/5 anytime goalscorer favourite for the game* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 22nd, 2019 at 8:34 p.m.).

Slovakia have already started their Euro 2020 qualification campaign. They hosted Hungary in midweek and produced a 2-0 home success to give the Falcons a solid start. They did not have a good Nations League campaign though as they finished behind Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Looking back at their World Cup 2018 qualification Slovakia was pretty solid as they put in a second place finish behind England.

Their form has been hit and miss overall since the start of September as they have gone W3 D1 L3 in their last seven internationals. It is worth noting that they have lost each of their last four competitive away games though. Just as Wales have done, Slovakia have scored in all but one of their last five games. Given that they already have three points on the board in the qualification group, they will probably be relatively happy with a point out of this trip to Cardiff.

Who will win – Wales v Slovakia Predictions

Slovakia are likely going to come and defend and they are probably not going to be knocked over easily. Wales can get at them with a quick start though and make it count home soil. Wales to win at 11/10 * (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 22nd, 2019 at 8:34 p.m.).

Euro 2020 qualifying – predictions & betting odds

International Football Betting

The 2020 European Championships will certainly bring something a little different to the table. That is because for the first ever it will be hosted across numerous different nations. Twelve of them in fact. So Euro 2020 is going to be quite the spectacle with Wembley playing host to the semi-finals and the final.

The Euro 2020 draw was made in early December 2018 for the qualification process. Here we take a look at the road ahead as the participating nations try and make it to Euro 2020.

Euro 2020 Winner Odds*

France 4/1
Spain 6/1
Germany 6/1
Belgium 15/2
England 8/1
Italy 14/1
Portugal 16/1

Nations League Influence

The bad news for reigning European Champions Portugal is that there is no automatic place at Euro 2020. It has to be earned. All 55 nations will go through the qualification process with the top two from each of the ten groups booking an automatic spot at the Finals. That leaves four spots up for grabs. Those will be filled through a play-off format for teams qualifying through the back door of the Nations League.

A team winning a Nations League Group (Scotland for example) automatically earn a place in the playoffs, if they don’t happen to qualify automatically from their Euro 2020 Qualification Group. There is one separate playoff tournament (consisting of four teams each) for each of the four leagues from the Nations League. The mini-playoff tournaments will produce the last four Euro 2020 finalists.

The other influence that the Nations League had was for each of the four group winners from League A. Those winners, Switzerland Portugal, Netherlands and England (who will be appearing in the 2019 Nations League Finals), started the Euro 2020 qualification draw in a separate pot. That means that each of them go in a qualification group consisting of five teams. The other six qualification groups all house six teams each. That’s to ensure that the dates stay free so the four of them can play the Nations League Finals. It’s basically to save those four nations from extra workload.

Group A

England 1/6
Czech Republic 6/1
Montenegro 12/1
Bulgaria 16/1
Kosovo 25/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

England go in a group of five then and they are 1/6 favourites to claim the win in this group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm). It’s not too hard to see why really. There is really little to oppose them going forward. The Three Lions should be strong enough from their home performances alone to get the job completed. After their run to the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup this is still about development and progress for Gareth Southgate’s men. They are generally more than reliable enough in major tournament qualifying to back. It looks like a straight duel between Montenegro and the Czech Republic for the second spot. Both finished third in their respective World Cup 2018 qualifying groups and in the Nations League, they both managed to retain their respective statuses in League 2 and League 3 respectively.

Group B

Portugal 4/6
Serbia 5/2
Ukraine 4/1
Lithuania 66/1
Luxembourg 250/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

It is of course highly unlikely that Lithuania or Luxembourg are going to be anywhere near the top two at the end of this group. Aside from that, there are three teams going to be trying to squeeze into two slots. Portugal are the outright favourites at 4/6 to win the group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm) but Serbia and Ukraine are threats here. Ukraine particularly had a strong nations league while Serbia moved up a tier in winning their group. Serbia won their World Cup 2018 qualification group over Ireland, Wales and Austria. This is going to be tough, but Portugal should have the quality to top out the group, but the other two will make it very interesting.

Group C

Germany 4/9
Netherlands 13/8
Northern Ireland 33/1
Belarus 100/1
Estonia 200/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

Old rivals Netherlands and Germany will get to meet each other again, just as they did in the Nations League recently. It was the Dutch who came out on top in that particular scrap as they took a very good four points off the Germans on their way to winning the group. Germany have been in a bit of a decline after such a poor 2018 World Cup too. Still, it is Dutch are who are 13/8 second favourites to win this group* (betting odds taken from Betfred on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm) behind the Germans despite all that. There’s a tough battle then for Northern Ireland ahead to try and muscle their way through.

Group D

Switzerland even money
Denmark 6/5
Ireland 11/2
Georgia 200/1
Gibraltar 1000/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

Straight off the bat, it is a three-way battle for the top two spots in this group. Of the three it is Ireland who are the least likely to get automatic qualification here. They have been having a tough time of things and while they will have a new manager for this qualification process, there appears to be a long way back for them after suffering relegation in the Nations League. It’s actually tough to split Switzerland and Denmark here in the race for top spot. We would probably just shade the extra strengths and depth of the Swiss. They should have extra confidence being a Nations League finalist.

Group E

Croatia 4/9
Wales 3/1
Slovakia 8/1
Hungary 20/1
Azerbaijan 66/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

The Welsh won’t be too unhappy with what is in front of them in Euro 2020 qualification. While there are always tricky away games in Europe to deal with, in this case, Hungary and Slovakia. However, the Dragons should be competitive enough to get into the picture for the top two here. Croatia, the 2018 World Cup runners-up are the 4/9 favourites to clinch the group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm). It’s hard to see any of the others really doing enough to prevent them from doing so at the end of the day.

Group F

Spain 2/9
Sweden 13/2
Romania 11/1
Norway 12/1
Faroe Islands 50/1
Malta 1000/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

This looks on paper at least, to be a pretty straightforward affair to predict. Spain are the red-hot odds-on favourites to claim the top spot. Realistically only Sweden are going to be strong enough to mount any kind of threat against them, but even with that said it’s hard to see them doing enough to stop Spain topping the pile. Frankly, Norway, Romania and Sweden all look as if they are capable of taking points off of each other here. But the Swedes are the ones who look the most likely to book themselves a top two finish.

Group G

Poland 11/10
Austria 6/5
Slovenia 11/1
Israel 14/1
Macedonia 50/1
Latvia 100/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

You can chop the bottom three in the Group G winner market out of the equation. When while Slovenia are likely to be a difficult side to beat on home soil, they don’t look a big enough of a threat to go and steal a top two place from either Poland or Austria. So if it boils down to a contest between those two for top spot who gets it? Frankly, because Poland were surprisingly poor in the Nations League it may be worth opposing them in favour of Austria at 6/5 odds* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm)

Group H

France 1/6
Turkey 13/2
Iceland 10/1
Albania 50/1
Moldova 100/1
Andorra 1000/1

It would surprise absolutely no one if France go out and win this group. That looks a pretty dead-cert if ever there was one. But what about behind them in the race for the second spot? Iceland have had a really tough year and the side that you saw at Euro 2016 and which qualified for the 2018 World Cup has fallen apart. Turkey are so unpredictable of a side though it’s hard to throw a lot of confidence at either of them. Just because Turkey have better depth available to them and will be difficult opponents on home soil, they should join France in the top two.

Group I

Belgium 2/9
Russia 7/2
Scotland 14/1
Cyprus 80/1
Kazakhstan 150/1
San Marino 500/1

What a difficult group this is going to be for the Scottish. They managed to win their Nations League group so even if they don’t get in the top two here they will have a Euro 2020 playoff spot. That is because of their Nations League performance. That may turn out to be a blessing for them. Belgium should storm away with the group win in his one and even though Russia aren’t much more than average, they should produce enough to lock down a top-two finish.

Group J

Italy 1/3
Bosnia 4/1
Greece 9/1
Finland 16/1
Armenia 100/1
Liechtenstein 200/1

Italy are still rebuilding, looking at their youth and a whole new system under Roberto Mancini. We saw glimpses of better things from them at the Nations League and while they aren’t a major force at the moment, this is an easy group for them to win. Bosnia won their Nations League group and could throw down a bit of a challenge. Either way, the top two should be between those two. There aren’t enough goals among the other group occupants to expect anyone else to come through and upset the apple cart. As with most of the Euro 2020 qualification groups, it looks pretty predictable.

International Football Betting

Wales v Denmark Nations League Preview, 16th November 7.45pm

This is a big game now for the Welsh. They have a two-point advantage at the top of B4 in the Nations League because a win will see them seal the group with a game to spare. If they draw then they would have to sweat on Denmark not beating Ireland in the final group stage match. Can the Dragons complete their mission and earn their spot up in the top ranks? Wales News and Form

From their three Nations League group games so far the Welsh have picked up six points in a W2 L1 record. The reverse in that sequence happened against Denmark so they need to turn that around as they face them on Friday. Wales are W2 L2 in their last four games and across their last seven, they have a real mixed bag of results too, at W3 D1 L3. They have come up with at least a goal in all but one of their last four games so they can take that as a positive.

Both teams not to score, to follow the head to head trend, is at 8/11 odds* (betting odds taken on November 12th, 2018 at 2:08 pm). Both teams have scored in just two of Wales’ last four fixtures. If the Welsh can indeed get the better of the Danes, then they will secure top spot in B4 and earn promotion. Now if the game is drawn then that the leaves the door open for Denmark to pip them for the top spot, leaving the Danes needing to beat Ireland in their last fixture.

Wales won their other home game in the group 4-1 against Ireland. Under 2.5 goals is at 8/15 odds with each of the last three games that Wales have played against Denmark have ended up that way. The Dragons are W2 D1 L2 in their last five games down in Cardiff, winning just one of their last four there. Can they secure promotion? They are assessing an ankle injury that their star player Gareth Bale has.

Wales v Denmark Head to Head

Denmark won the first Nations League meeting 2-0
The overall head to head is two wins each from four meetings
Both teams have scored in one of the previous four matches
Wales lost 2-0 in their one previous home game against Denmark

Denmark News and Form

With four points collected from their two games so far, the Danes need to get at least a point out of this fixture to keep their hopes of promotion alive. A win would actually see them secure the group win with a game to spare. A draw in the game will leave them just needing to beat Ireland in their final game. Denmark have not conceded a goal in either of their Nations League games so far and a Denmark to win to nil option is at 10/3 odds* (betting odds taken on November 12th, 2018 at 2:08 pm). The Danes are on a three-match unbeaten streak of form at the moment, winning two of those.

Actually, if you look back further at their form, the Danes have suffered just one reverse in their last twelve games (90 minutes), winning five so they have been a really good, competitive side without question. Their top scorer in the nations League campaign is Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen with two goals. Both teams have scored in just two of Denmark’s last twelve fixtures.

Who will win – Wales v Denmark Predictions

Draw: The Danes will be able to take their chances in their final match of the group against Ireland to win the group. Wales will be keen to avoid the defeat which at least heaps pressure back on the Danes to win that final game. This may be too tight to call down in Cardiff. Draw.

Ireland v Wales Prediction & Betting Tips, 16th October 2018

International Football Betting

Ireland v Wales UEFA Nations League Preview, 16th October 7.45pm

Here we go then. Ireland are going to be under pressure at home here to get three points. That would lift them above the Welsh in the Nations League group. If they were to suffer another loss at the hands of the Dragons though, that’s them as good as relegated. Wales will take over from Denmark at the top with a win. Ireland v Wales Betting Odds*

Ireland 6/4
Draw 19/10
Wales 11/5

Ireland News and Form

Ireland badly need to pick up a win in this one to try and turn their fortunes around. The Irish suffered that big 4-1 defeat against the Welsh in their opening Nations League game immediately putting them at a big disadvantage in the group. If they don’t pick up the three points in this one then it is, more likely than not, going to be relegation for them at the end of the day. As a response to that heavy loss against Wales, Ireland responded with a friendly draw against Poland away from home and then a 0-0 at home against Denmark back in the Nations League.

The 1-1 correct score in this game is at 9/2 odds* (betting odds taken on October 14th, 2018 at 7:11 pm). That has to have appeal with the way results for Ireland have gone recently. The Irish have won just one of their last eight games now (W1 D3 L4) so certainly have no form behind them at all. They have gone W2 D1 L1 in their last four home games, competitive and friendly. Four of their last six games (home and away) have ended under 2.5 goals and we are going to roll with that for this one. They are going to be stronger than they were down in Cardiff.

Wales News and Form

There’s a big incentive for Wales to push for a win here. That would see them finish the international break top of League B4 and put pressure on current leaders Denmark who will have played a game less. A point would realistically leave Wales from the threat of relegation as well, dumping that on the Irish. So there is a lot at stake in this one, but they have not been able to build on that win over the Irish. Wales have lost their last two games, suffering a 2-0 Nations League defeat against Denmark before getting hammered by Spain in a friendly.

It leaves Wales at W2 D2 L5 in their last nine games played. The two wins in that sequence though saw Wales score at least four goals in each. But overall if you look at the sequence then Wales have failed to score in five of those nine games. Both teams not score is at 4/6 odds* (betting odds taken on October 14th, 2018 at 7:11 pm). Certainly, the large portion of the recent head to head suggests that that is the way to go. Wales are missing their talisman Gareth Bale for the game because of injury. That’s a huge blow for the Welsh in terms of pushing for that win.

Ireland v Wales Head to Head

Wales produced that easy 4-1 home win over Ireland back in September and that snapped a six-match winless streak of form that they were on against Ireland. Ireland are W2 D1 in their last three on home soil against the Dragos. Both teams have scored in just one of the last five meetings. Wales have scored in just one of their last five meetings with Ireland.

Who will win – Ireland v Wales Predictions

The draw appeals here. Ireland seem to have at least steadied the ship after back to back draws since that loss against Wales. The Welsh meanwhile have lost their last two and may have to settle for a point just to keep Ireland off their backs.
