PSV v FC Basel Prediction & Betting Tips, 23rd July 2019

UEFA Champions League Betting

PSV v FC Basel UEFA Champions League Preview, 23rd July 7.00pm

This could be quite the duel for these competitors looking to secure a place in the group stage of this season’s Champions League down the line. PSV were the runners up in the Eredivisie last season. They will be facing a Basel side who have a great record against Dutch opposition though. Losers go to the Europa League. Read our PSV v FC Basel betting tips for more.

PSV v FC Basel Betting Odds*

PSV 4/7
Draw 29/10
Basel 19/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 21st, 2019 at 8:12 p.m.)

PSV News and Form

PSV couldn’t get the better of their great rivals Ajax in the Eredivisie last season, finishing three points behind them in the race for the title. So they are making another run at the Champions League. They were in the group stage of last season’s competition having qualified from entry at the playoff round. They have further to go this season to get back to the main draw.

In last season’s group stage, they failed to win any of their six games (D2 L4) in a tough group against Spurs, Barcelona and Inter Milan. They will want to make the most of home advantage, however, they have taken just one win in their last ten European home games (D3 L6). PSV have managed only one clean sheet in their last ten European fixtures. The Dutch side has a 37% win rate in Champions League games from 167 played.

PSV v FC Basel Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs

FC Basel News and Form

FC Basel also took a second-place finish in their respective league campaign last season. They finished a whopping 20 points behind winners Young Boys and Basel themselves were 25 points above third-placed Lugano. The interesting thing going into this tie is that Basel holds a six-match undefeated history against Dutch sides, winning five of those. Last season Basel were dumped out of the qualification campaign at this very stage against PAOK.

Switzerland have just opened their domestic season, with Basel collecting a 4-1 win over Sion. FC Basel’s record in the Champions League/Europa Cup is about a 40% win rate from 118 played. Just recently as the 2017/18 they were last sixteen finishers in the competition. Their best-ever performance in the European Cup was back in the 1973/74 season when they were losing quarter-finalist.

PSV v FC Basel Tips & Odds

Both teams to score at even money
FC Basel – Draw Double Chance at 5/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 21st, 2019 at 8:12 p.m.)

Who will win – PSV v FC Basel Predictions

This should be a good contest and we feel it is worth backing both teams to get on the scoresheet in the game. PSV, although they have faced some tough opposition in the sequence, have one win in their last ten home games. FC Basel with their record against Dutch opposition may be worth a look.

Celtic v Nomme Kalju Prediction & Betting Tips, 24th July 2019

UEFA Champions League Betting

Celtic v Nomme Kalju UEFA Champions League Preview, 24th July 7.45pm

Celtic will be looking to make safe passage through to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. After seeing off the challenge of Sarajevo on the first round, next up for them is Estonia champions Kalju. While the tie winner will progress to the next round, the loser will be dropping to the Europa League. Read our Celtic v Nomme Kalju betting tips for more.

Celtic v Nomme Kalju Betting Odds*

Celtic 1/20
Draw 12/1
Nomme Kalju 25/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 21st, 2019 at 5.05 p.m.)

Celtic News and Form

There is overwhelming odds-on favouritism then on Celtic getting the win in this game. They kick off this tie on home soil and will be hoping to do enough at Celtic Park to take it easy in the second leg. Celtic banked a 5-2 aggregate win over Sarajevo in the last round. The one concern there for Neil Lennon’s men is the lack of clean sheets, although this may be an easier tie for them. Celtic had taken a 3-1 lead in the tie from the first leg away from home, before finishing the job back at home.

All five goals for Celtic in that tie against Sarajevo were scored by different players. At this stage of last season’s qualification campaign, Celtic beat Rosenborg 3-1 on aggregate. The Bhoys are W5 L3 in their last eight European games. They are W2 L3 in their last five European home fixtures. This should end up being a massively favourable draw for the Scottish champions.

Celtic v Nomme Kalju Head to Head

This will be the first meeting between the two clubs

Nomme Kalju News and Form

Kalju pulled off an upset in the first qualifying round of this season’s Europa League. The Estonian champions were up against Macenodian champions Shkendija in that tie. Kalju won through on away goals after winning the second leg out on the road 1-0. Their new domestic league started in March so they are currently about half way through their season there. So they are match fit. On the domestic front, they are unbeaten in their last sixteen games.

But Kalju are well off the pace for a Meistriliiga title defence. They have had a lot of attempts in European qualifiers over the last decade or so. This is their second time in the Champions League qualifiers, their previous one in 2013/14 ending in the third qualifying round. They are now W2 D1 L3 in their last six European games. They have won two of their last eight away European games.

Celtic v Nomme Kalju Tips & Odds

Celtic 2-0 correct score at 7/1
Celtic to win by a 2 goals margin at 4/1
* (betting odds taken from bet365 on July 21st, 2019 at 5.05 pm)

Who will win – Celtic v Nomme Kalju Predictions

This should be routine enough for Celtic, especially at home. They surely have to make the most of this draw. Even though they didn’t get on in the first qualifying round, there’s probably enough here to back a Celtic to win to nil option.

Celtic 8/13

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 7th, 2019 at 3:49 a.m.)

Celtic News and Form

Scottish Champions Celtic get their first taste of competitive action for the summer. The club decided to keep on Neil Lennon last season after he came in late into the term, following the departure of Brendan Rodgers to Leicester. Lennon also guided them to the FA Cup title. Naturally, there is going to be a bit of rust in the ranks and this isn’t likely to be a full strength team sent out. This could be a tricky little first away leg though if they underestimate their opponents. It’s not often that a really easy way game in Europe will happen.

Sarajevo News and Form

Sarajevo are the national champions. They won the Bosnian league by five points last season. This isn’t their first taste of Champions League football. Prior to this season, their most recent appearance was in the 2015/16 second qualifying round where they lost 3-0 on aggregate to Lech Poznan. In the 2007/08 season, they did get through the first two qualifying round before losing to Dynamo Kyiv in the third. Sarajevo’s record in the Europan Cup/Champions League is W2 D2 L8 having scored 19 and conceded 19 goals. They have lost each of their last four games in the competition (all qualifiers).

Sarajevo v Celtic Tips & Odds

Draw match outright at 3/1
Under 2.5 goals at 8/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 7th, 2019 at 3:49 a.m.)

Who will win – Sarajevo v Celtic Predictions

This may just be a matter of getting a tidy job done by Celtic. There’s no need to go for broke of course with the second leg to come back on home soil. It could be a muted night out in Bosnia and it may just be worth a look at the draw.

Liverpool defy the odds to reach UEFA Champions League Final

Liverpool

Anfield was rocking on Tuesday night. If there was a roof on the stadium, it would have been blown off by the noise and emotion which erupted at the final whistle of a staggering match. Liverpool went into the game trailing Barcelona 3-0 from the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie.

So it was a night of hope more than optimism before kick-off, but things started to change after Divock Origi got an early goal on the board for them. Still, only being 1-0 up at half time, there was a long, long way for Liverpool to go, but they got there in the end as they tore into the Spaniards.

Considering that Liverpool were without two key attackers in Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, the success was even more memorable. They had to produce a bit of a rearguard action at the end of the game as Barcelona desperately sought an away goal that would have put them through to the final. It didn’t come.

Liverpool stayed strong and inflicted another miserable exit from the competition for Barca. Last season Barcelona lost in the quarterfinals against Roma having won the first leg of the tie at the Camp Nou by a 4-1 scoreline. They lost 3-0 in Italy and were knocked out on away goals. This one has to hurt just as much.

Liverpool could have been taken at 50/1 odds with bet365 for a 4-0 correct score before kick off.

That extraordinary show of strength now has seen Liverpool move in from 22/1 odds to just 4/9 to win this season’s Champions League* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 8th, 2019 at 2:40 p.m.). The Reds will await the winner of the Ajax v Tottenham tie.

The Champions League final is booked for June 1st.

Ajax v Juventus Prediction & Betting Tips, 10th April 2019

UEFA Champions League Betting

Ajax v Juventus UEFA Champions League Preview, 10th April 8.00pm

This is a big night on home soil for Dutch side Ajax who caused the upset of the entire tournament so far in beating Real Madrid in the last round. Will they be able to knock off another European giant as they go up against Juventus? Read our Ajax v Juventus betting tips for more.

Ajax v Juventus Betting Odds*

Juventus 11/10
Draw 23/10
Ajax 5/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 7th, 2019 at 4:02 p.m.)

Ajax News and Form

In the round of 16 Ajax had suffered a 2-1 home defeat in the first leg against Real Madrid. Few would have predicted what was to come in the first leg at the Bernabeu as the Eredivisie side ran out 4-1 winners. That put Ajax through to their first quarter-final in the Champions League since the 2002/03 season. This will be the first meeting between these two clubs who have such a long European tradition. Ajax have picked up only the two wins in their last 12 games played against Juventus. They are winless in their last nine against the Italians and have suffered a defeat in five of their last six against them. Ajax’s record in the quarterfinals of the European Cup is W8 L4. Ajax have only ever lost one home game in European quarter-finals, going W6 D5 in their other such matches.

Remarkably Ajax were winless in seven UEFA Champions League knockout games (D2 L5) before they landed that win at Real Madrid in the round of sixteen. Ajax haven’t managed to take home a win in any of their last six fixtures played in the knockout phase of the Champions League, losing three of those. They have produced fine form in Europe this season though as they are at W8 D5 L1 from fourteen played this season. At home they are W5 D1 L1 this season in Europe, being the only side left who came through the qualifiers. Ajax have failed win any of their last nine home fixtures against Italian opposition but are unbeaten in five home and away against Serie A teams (W1 D4). Ajax’s record in two-legged ties against Italian clubs is W5 L7, they have lost three of the last four.

Ajax v Juventus Head to Head

Juventus are undefeated in nine against Ajax
Juve are W6 D4 L2 in the head to head against Ajax
Ajax have scored one goal in their last four games against Juventus
Ajax are winless in four previous trips to Turin (D1 L3)

Juventus News and Form

Juventus also had come from behind in their round of 16 tie. They look to be heading out after a 2-0 loss in the first leg at Atletico Madrid. But then Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show back in Turin producing a hat-trick to give Juventus a 3-0 victory and move through to the final eight. Cristiano Ronaldo has not played since going off injured on international duty on March 25th. In last season quarter-finals, Juventus had that thrilling tie against Real Madrid which was level at 3-3 in the second leg before Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty kick for the Spaniards. Their overall record in two-legged ties against Dutch sides is W4 L1.

Juventus are W2 L2 in their four away games in this season’s champions league. Their loss at young boys in the group stage snapped a five-match away winning streak that Juventus were on in the competition. Juventus are undefeated in their last six games against Dutch sides with a W4 D2 record from that sequence. Of the five losses which they have suffered against Dutch sides throughout their history, three of them have been in the Netherlands. Juventus are W12 L6 in their 18 previous quarter-final ties in the European Cup, but they have won just two of their last six. Young striker Moise Kean has scored seven goals in his last eight games for his club and country.

Ajax v Juventus Tips & Odds

Under 2.5 goals at 4/5
Both teams not to score at 19/20
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 7th, 2019 at 4:02 p.m.)

Who will win – Ajax v Juventus Predictions

Ajax have had a great season, but they have set themselves a tough act to follow. Given that Ajax did lose at home in the last round, Juventus may be able to get an advantage on the board.

Manchester United News and Form

Manchester United pulled off one of their famous night in Europe to get through their round of 16 tie against PSG. United had lost at home in the first leg, but then a dramatic stoppage-time penalty in Paris saw them land a 3-1 away victory to squeeze through. The Red Devils are W12 L6 in their 18 previous European Cup quarter-finals. This is their first since the 2013/14 season against Bayern Munich when they suffered a defeat. Manchester United have won one of their last three quarter-final ties only. Their home form in Europe isn’t great as they are W2 L3 from their last five at Old Trafford.

Along with beating Young Boys at Old Trafford, in this season’s group stage, they lost at home to Juventus and were held to a 0-0 draw by Valencia. Then came their defeat against PSG in the round of sixteen. Surprisingly in their last four home games in Europe Manchester United have produced only the one goal. United hold a W6 L8 record in two-legged ties against Spanish opposition. Overall home and away, the Red Devils have produced a W17 D5 L6 record in Europe in their last 28 played. Manchester United have lost three of their four games played (all away from home) since taking that win in Paris against PSG.

Manchester United v Barcelona Head to Head

The last two meetings have been in Champions League Finals
Barcelona are W4 D4 L3 in their 11 previous games against United
United have won both two-legged ties against Barcelona
The Red Devils are W1 D2 in three previous UCL home games against Barca

Barcelona News and Form

Barcelona are W14 L6 in their twenty previous appearances in the European Cup quarterfinals. However, they have struggled at this stage in recent seasons as they have exited the other quarter-final stage in four of their last five Champions League campaigns. Last season they looked on course to reach the final four holding a 4-1 lead over, but then Barcelona collapsed in the second leg away from home. There was their third quarter final exit in a row. In each of those three games from those quarter-final exits, Barcelona failed to get a goal on the board. Barcelona have met English opposition already this season as they won at Spurs before a draw against the Lilywhites in the group stage.

Barcelona have suffered just the one defeat in their last 13 European games played against English opposition (W8 D4). Overall they have won 14 of their previous 24 two-legged ties against English opposition. They have only lost one of their last eight such-ties. When it comes down to individual matches, Barcelona have suffered just one defeat in their last 19 Champions League games which was their loss at Roma in last season’s quarter-finals. Barcelona though are actually on a six-match winless streak in the knockout stage away from home with a W2 L4 record. From those six games, Barcelona have produced just one goal. Barca are currently undefeated in 16 games in all competition (W11 D5) and Lionel Messi is the joint top scorer in this season’s tournament with eight goals.

Manchester United v Barcelona Tips & Odds

Both teams to score at 8/13
Barcelona to win match outright at 5/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 7th, 2019 at 4:02 p.m.)

Who will win – Manchester United v Barcelona Predictions

Barcelona are likely going to be too strong for a Manchester United side who haven’t been that great on home soil in Europe this season. The visitors should have the craft to open up the home side. Away win.

Tottenham News and Form

It was a pretty tight call for Spurs to just get out of their group in the first round of action. The only took one point from their first three games but then dramatically fought back to get through. In the round of 16, Spurs went up against Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham put on a fantastic performance in the tie to win 4-0 on aggregate. That put them through to just their second quarter-final appearance in the Champions League, their previous one happening eight years ago. From their two previous European cup quarter-finals, Spurs have won one and lost one. This will be the fourth time in European action that they have been involved in knockout tie against English opposition, Spurs going W1 L2 from their three previous such ties.

At home in the last round, Spurs claimed a 3-0 victory over Dortmund and that was their first ever success at home in a Champions League knockout stage match (D1 L2). In this season’s group, stage Spurs lost at home against Barcelona, before beating PSV and Inter. Their overall record against Manchester City is W60 D35 L61 in all competitions. Spurs are on a three-match losing streak against Manchester city so do have to shake off that run of form. Tottenham have only managed to claim four clean sheets in their last 15 matches across all competitions. Their form is not red-hot at the moment with just two wins in their last seven in all competitions.

Tottenham v Manchester City Head to Head

Manchester City took a 1-0 league win at Spurs in October
The Citizens are on a three-match winning streak against Spurs
Both teams have scored in five of the last seven meetings
This is their first ever European meeting

Manchester City News and Form

Manchester City reached the FA Cup final over the weekend and with that their quadruple hopes are still up and running. Manchester City had a easy time of things in the last round of this season’s UEFA Champions League. The Citizens beat Schalke 10-2 on aggregate. This is just their third appearance in the European Cup quarter-finals after beating PSG in the 2015/16 edition and then getting knocked out by Liverpool last season. Manchester City have lost all four of their previous European games against fellow English opposition. In that sequence of games, City scored just one goal conceded seven.

Manchester City topped their group in first round of action after having suffered a home defeat in their opening match against French side Lyon. This season in their UEFA Champions League progress, the Citizens have claimed their two biggest European wins. They produced a 6-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the group stage and they took a 7-0 home win over Schalke in the round of sixteen. The Citizens are W7 D1 L5 in their last 13 European fixtures. They are W4 D1 L1 in their last six out on the road. They have netted at least two goals in each of their four away games in this season’s Champions League.

Liverpool 1/4
Draw 17/4

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 29th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Liverpool News and Form

Liverpool produced a fantastic second leg performance away from home in the last round to eliminate Bayern Munich following a 0-0 draw at Anfield. That leaves Liverpool having won each of their last nine two-legged ties in European competition, which includes qualifiers. So that’s a strong head of steam that they have up. The Reds are W6 L2 from their eight previous two-legged contests against Portuguese sides too. Liverpool have suffered just the one defeat at Anfield against Portuguese opposition and that was back in the 2005/06 edition of the Champions League (round of sixteen).

Liverpool’s last two games at home against Portuguese sides have ended in a 0-0 draw. Liverpool have yet to be beaten at home in this season’s Champions League, winning all three group stage home fixtures. Then there was the 0-0 against Bayern in the last round. That is a 20 match undefeated streak of home form that Liverpool are currently on in Europe, winning fourteen of those. Liverpool are undefeated in 14 games in all competitions (W8 D5). They are currently running on a five-match winning streak and they hold a W17 D3 L1 at Anfield in all competitions this season.

Liverpool v Porto Head to Head

Liverpool won 5-0 on aggregate in last season’s round of 16 against Porto
Liverpool are W3 D3 in their six previous games against Porto
Porto have failed to score in four of their previous six meetings against Liverpool
Porto are D1 L2 in their three visits to Anfield

Porto News and Form

Porto don’t have a great record at this stage of the competition. They are W2 D5 from seven previous appearances in European Cup quarter-finals. The last time they made it to the final four was in 2003/04 when they went on to lift the trophy under Jose Mourinho. They don’t have a great record either from previous two-legged ties against English teams. Porto have come up with a W3 L8 record from their eleven previous two-legged ties against English opposition. Porto have lost their last five ties against English sides on the bounce.

Their 0-0 draw at Anfield last season snapped a five-match losing streak that they were on against English opponents. They have yet to win a game in England, as they are at D3 L15 from their previous visits. They have failed to score in any of their last six games in England. In the last round, Porto suffered an away defeat in the first leg against Roma and turned things around. Before the loss in Rome, they were undefeated in five on the road (W2 D3). In their last ten European away fixtures, Porto have won just three games. Since their loss against Liverpool last season, Porto are W6 D2 L1 in European games. No team earned more group stage points in his season’s competition than Porto did (16).

Liverpool v Porto Tips & Odds

Liverpool to win to nil at 20/21
Under 2.5 goals at 6/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 7th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Who will win – Liverpool v Porto Predictions

Porto are actually in good shape this season and they can be a stubborn opponent at Anfield. But given their record in England, backing Liverpool to get away with a win to nil is the best fit. They would be pretty happy with that against a tricky opponent.

Ajax v Juventus To Qualify Odds*

Juventus 1/5
Ajax 1/3
* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019)

Ajax pulled off a big shock in the last round as they produced that stunning success over the reigning champions Real Madrid. Their thumping 4-1 win at the Bernabeu stunned the world of football. Next up for them will be the challenge of Italian champions Juventus. Juventus looked on the way out after a 2-0 loss in their first leg of their round of sixteen tie against Atletico Madrid.

But a stunning hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo back in Turin saw them power their way back to reach the final four. Juventus have won five of the last six games against Ajax and are currently undefeated in their last ten against the Dutch side. Juventus lead the overall head to head W6 D4 L2. Ajax are at home for the first leg, but it is Juve who are the even-money favourites to win that fixture* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019)

Head-to-head in UEFA competition: 6 Juventus wins, 2 Ajax wins, 4 draws

Liverpool v Porto To Qualify Odds*

Liverpool 2/9
Porto 3/1
* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019)

A great draw for Liverpool in this one as they avoided all of the heavyweights. The Reds were up against the Portuguese side in last season’s round of sixteen and Liverpool powered their way to a 5-0 aggregate success. Liverpool progressed to the quarter-finals thanks to a stunning second leg win out at Bayern Munich to knock off the German champions.

Porto came through their tussle against Roma in the last round but they have lost their last two knockout ties against English opposition. Porto have never won a game against Liverpool either and they are really going to be up against it in this one. Liverpool are 1/3 to win the first leg at Anfield* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019).

Head-to-head in UEFA competition: 3 Liverpool wins, 0 Porto wins, 3 draws

Tottenham v Manchester City To Qualify Odds*

Man City 1/6
Tottenham 4/1
* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019)

Manchester City are probably quite happy with this tie as it sees them take on an opponent which they are familiar with. Earlier this season Manchester City collected a 1-0 victory over the Lilywhites in their away game against them. This will be the first ever European fixture between the two sides and City arrived in the quarterfinals in style. They thumped Schalke 10-2 on aggregate, winning the second leg 7-0 at home against the Germans.

It really is the enormous threat that they carry at the Etihad which is going to be the most telling factor. They did, however, lose both games against Liverpool in last season’s quarterfinals. Spurs did a fantastic job as well though in beating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate in their round of sixteen tie. The Citizens are 4/6 favourites to open with a win in the first leg away from home* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019).

In 156 competitive meetings, City have won 61 to Spurs’ 60, with 35 draws.

Barcelona v Manchester United To Qualify Odds*

Barcelona 1/4
Manchester United 11/4
* (betting odds taken from bet365 on March 15th, 2019)

This is just about the last draw that Manchester United would have wanted to pull out of the hat. Barcelona hammered Lyon 5-1 at home in the second leg of their round of sixteen tie against the French outfit. The Catalans are five-time winners of the European Cup and are still one of the clear front runners in the tournament. United start at home in this one and they are likely going to have make that count to take something back to the Nou Camp to defend.

But still, United have won at Juventus in this season’s campaign and they became the first side ever to overturn a 2-0 first leg home deficit in the competition. Tottenham v Barcelona Betting Preview – UEFA Champions League 3rd October 8.00pm

Spurs were sunk late in their opening game of this season’s Champions League out at Inter Milan. So they can’t afford another slip up in midweek when they play host to Barcelona. Tottenham need to step up to the plate here. They could be catching the Spaniards at the right time too as the La Liga champions have failed to win any of their last three. Read our predictions for the Tottenham v Barcelona fixture.

Tottenham News and Form

Spurs picked themselves up from their little slip of three straight defeats to go W2 D1 in their last three games in all competitions. An EFL Cup penalty shootout win over Watford in midweek was sandwiched between 2-0 Premier League wins at Brighton and Huddersfield. So not the toughest run of matches. Against Inter on matchday one, Spurs had taken control with Christian Eriksen giving them the lead in the second half at the San Siro. But they shipped two goals in the last five minutes of the game to suffer a very heavy blow to their ambitions.

Tottenham have been far from rock solid this season defensively so we have to look at both teams to score at 1/2 odds* (betting odds taken on September 30th, 2018 at 9:39 pm). Last season they produced a W5 D1 record in their six group stage games, beating Real Madrid to top spot. So already they are down on last season’s output. This is a tough position now too as they can’t afford a loss. Spurs have won three of their last four home games in Europe (L1) but only have the one clean sheet in those games. Spurs have taken just two clean sheets in their last ten games in Europe. In the over/under market, under 3.5 goals is at 8/13 odds* (betting odds taken on September 30th, 2018 at 9:39 pm).

Barcelona News and Form

Barcelona have seen their form slip away a bit as they have failed to get a win in any of their last three. Those have all been league games so their slump in form came after such a strong and dominant start. Barcelona won their opening six games in all competitions. Barcelona have hit the back of the net in all of their games played this season, so are still likely to get on the scoresheet given their class. In the bet365 correct score market a Barcelona 2-1 is at 15/2 odds* (betting odds taken on September 30th, 2018 at 9:39 pm) and a very appealing option for Tottenham v Barcelona betting tips.

Just because Barcelona have been having their dip in form but are the favourites, it may still be worth backing them but not by a big margin. A Barcelona to win by a one-goal margin is at 3/1 odds* (betting odds taken on September 30th, 2018 at 9:39 pm). They opened their European campaign this season with a strong 4-0 home win over PSV Eindhoven and that was with ten men as well. Lionel Messi fired off a hat trick in that fixture and away this season across all competitions Barcelona are W2 L1. The loss in that sequence happened against La Liga bottom side Leganes last week.

Tottenham v Barcelona Head to Head

This will only be the third competitive game between the two sides, the previous ones happening in the 1982 European Cup Winners Cup. There was a 1-1 draw in London before Barcelona took a 1-0 win back on home soil. That’s all she wrote for Spurs v Barca history.

Tottenham v Barcelona Betting Odds*

Barcelona 19/20
Tottenham 5/2
Draw 14/5

Tottenham v Barcelona Predictions

Tottenham need a big European night at home, but we are going to stick with the favourites in this one. Barcelona have had some bad slips over the last week or so, but that makes them all the more valuable to pick up a win in this one. They can find the gaps in the Spurs defence that are there. Away win & both teams to score.
