This is going to be a tough showdown in the final four for both of these. The pressure is one big-time now with a place in the final at stake. Both of these had tight fixtures in the last round, both of them only got through by a one-goal margin win. Who will find that winning touch? Read our Senegal v Tunisia betting tips for more.

Senegal were second-placed finishers in the group stage to Algeria. Their only loss in the group happened against the Algerians in the battle for top spot. That put them through to a round of sixteen tie against Uganda. They dug out a narrow 1-0 success thanks to one of their star players, Sadio Mane coming up with the only goal of the game. Then it was their fixture against Benin when another of their players from the English Premier League, Everton’s Idrissa Gueye delivered the only goal of the game.
So that is back to back 1-0 wins for them in the competition now. So while it has been fine margins for them, they have been digging out their rewards. Having those extra touches of quality makes a huge difference. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is their top scorer with three goals in the tournament. It has been some fine form that the Lions of Teranga have put together since October last year. They have won 10 of their last 11 games now. During that extended streak of form, they have picked up a whopping nine clean sheets. It has been just one conceded in their five tournament fixtures.
The last meeting was at Afcon 2017 when Senegal won 2-0
Both teams have scored in one of the last seven meetings
Just one of the last seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
Senegal have won only one of the last eleven against Tunisia
The Eagles of Carthage had a much more comfortable time of things in their quarter-final tie. They were up against minnows Madagascar, who were the big underdog story of the entire competition. Tunisia romped to a 3-0 win. That was actually their first win of the tournament. They had drawn all three of their group stages games. Then in their round of sixteen tie, they had played out a 1-1 draw with Ghana after Tunisia had conceded in the 92nd minute of the fixture. The Tunisians collected the penalty shoot out win 5-4.
Tunisia are now currently on an eight-match undefeated streak of form (W4 D4). During that spell, they have taken the three clean sheets only, but two of those have come inside their last three games. This is the first time that they have been past the quarter-finals since their successful 2004 campaign. Their top scorer in this tournament with two goals is Youssef Msakni. It has been a strange campaign from them given the amount of draws that they have put up. Will that big quarter-final get them to a better place?
Senegal have some game-changers in their ranks. None better than Sadio Mane and in what is expected to be a tight and tense game that is likely to make a big difference. It will probably be low scoring but Senegal to win by a one-goal margin looks a pretty decent fit.

What a story minnows Madagascar have written for themselves at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. They have defied the odds to reach the final eight in what is their debut in the competition. Can they go further? They will be up against a Tunisia side who have drawn their last four games. Read our Madagascar v Tunisia betting tips for more.

Few would have seen this run from Madagascar coming. They have lit the tournament up by reaching the quarter-finals. Not bad for a nation in their first-ever AFCON campaign and one that was ranked 107th in the world at the start of the event. They pulled off a shock group win too. They posted a W2 D1 record in their three games in the group stage, coming up big in their final match, a decider for top sport against Nigeria. That was following the draw against Guinea and then a 1-0 win over Burundi.
That was fantastic from them and it gave them a round of sixteen tie against DR Congo. That was a favourable draw for them as the DR Congo had only qualified as one of the best third-placed teams from the group stage. The game ended in a 2-2 draw but Madagascar impressively held their never to win the penalty shootout 4-2. The top scorer for the Barea is Carolus Andriamatsinoro with two. Madagascar are actually only W2 D3 L4 in their last nine games, which is why this run has been so unexpected.
The only previous meeting were in the World Cup 2002 qualifiers
Tunisia won both of those games to nil
It has been a strange tournament from Tunisia, who once again drew a game. They were up against Ghana in the round of sixteen and they looked to be heading to a win. That was until they conceded to the Black Stars in the 92nd minute. So they had to endure a penalty shoot-out in the end, which Tunisia took 5-4. Back in the group stage, Tunisia took a second-place finish behind winner Mali, and the Tunisians drew all three of their games, two of the 1-1 draws. So three of their four games at the tournament have been 1-1 draws (90 minutes).
So the 2004 champions have been grinding. They have actually only suffered three defeats since the end of the World Cup last summer. They are W7 D4 L3 in their last fourteen fixtures played. They are currently on a seven-match undefeated streak of form, drawing each of the last four as mentioned. This failure to have won games is going to likely bother punters as to whether or not they can actually find their winning touch when it matters the most. So far it has not quite been there, and there could be nervy moments in this one for them.
Madagascar are not going to be quaking in their boots at the prospect of facing Tunisia. The Tunisians are the favourites though but they can’t seem to get that winning touch nailed. So it may just be worth having the Madagascar – Draw Double Chance in mind.

Ghana were group winners in the first stage of action at the Africa Cup of Nation 2019. That was after a fight battle with Cameroon. It puts them through to the round of sixteen when they face up to Tunisia. The Tunisians got through the group stage in second place in their group without winning a game. Read our Ghana v Tunisia betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 4th, 2019 at 5:13 p.m.)
Ghana were thwarted in their opening group stage game by Benin, the fixture playing out to a 2-2 draw. After a 0-0 draw against Cameroon in the group’s feature match, it left Ghana with a bit of work to do to get to the top spot in the final round of matches. With Cameroon failing to beat Benin in their final game, Ghana delivered a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau to top the table in the head to head over the Cameroonians. Jordan Ayew is their top scorer at the tournament with two goals in three games.
The Black Stars might have hoped for a slightly easier round of sixteen tie though. Their record in recent Africa Cup of Nations tournaments has been good. They have finished in the top four in each of the last six editions now, but none of those campaigns yielded a title. They are four-time winners of the tournament, but their last success was all the way back in 1982. Ghana have suffered just one defeat in their last eight games, winning four of those. They have been tight at the back with three clean sheets in their last four games played now.
Ghana took a 4-2 win over Tunisia in 2013, their most recent meeting
It is a W5 D2 L1 record that Ghana have over Tunisia
Tunisia are winless in three against the Black Stars
Both teams have scored in five of the previous eight meetings
Tunisia will have been expecting a bit of a higher return than what they managed in the group stage. They played out three straight drawn matches. Their first two against Angola and Mali were 1-1 draws, while they could only close out with a really disappointing 0-0 draw against Mauritania. So it hasn’t been wonderful stuff from the Eagles of Carthage at all. They have been to the quarterfinals in three of their last four Africa Cup of Nations appearances though.
Their current form suggests that they are going to be in this tie. They are undefeated in their last six games losing just one of their last eight. Since the beginning of September last year, Tunisia are W7 D3 L3 but only one of those three defeats were in competitive fixtures. Tunisia’s 0-0 draw against Mauritania saw them take their first clean sheet in five. It also saw them have a five-match scoring streak snapped.
A lot of the round of sixteen ties in the Cup of Nations look as if they will be tight. This is no exception. Tunisia are hard to beat but they do look as if they have a little less to offer in attacking out than the Black Stars. Ghana to win.

This is a total dead rubber down in Group G. That is because Belgium and England have already qualified, so Tunisia and Panama will simply be playing it out to avoid the wooden spoon. Read our Panama v Tunisia predictions for more details.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 25th, 2018 at 11:43 p.m.)
This is a game that is naturally going to get overlooked by a lot of people, but it still gives rise to some good World cup betting opportunities so it is worth a look. Panama have been lacking quality and discipline at the World Cup and they have clearly had problems stepping up to this level in what is their debut at the tournament. They opened with a 3-0 loss against Belgium and then suffered a 6-1 hammering against England. While history was made in that game with them getting their first ever World Cup goal, but they have offered very little overall and we have to take the 21/20 odds on both teams not to score at bet365* (Betting Odds were taken from June 25th, 2018 at 11:43 p.m.). It is hard to imagine that a side who have now scored just two goals in their last six games and who qualified for the World Cup with a negative goal difference is likely to come out and suddenly put on a show. Panama’s form is W1 D1 L4 in their last six games and going back to their qualification campaign, they actually only won three games in the whole process. For our Panama v Tunisia betting odds we are looking at Tunisia to win to nil at 9/4 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 25th, 2018 at 11:43 p.m.).
Tunisia have not fared much better, but they did at least put in a half decent defensive display in almost holding out for a 1-1 draw with England in their group opener. They were crushed 5-2 by Belgium in their second fixture, but at least that is a goal in both games for them and they do look better equipped to take three points away from this game. In the bet365 correct score market a Tunisia 1-0 is at 15/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 25th, 2018 at 11:43 p.m.) and that makes for one of our top betting tips for Panama v Tunisia. Granted the form of Tunisia isn’t great either as they have also won just one of their last six games, losing their last three. The big difference is that they have scored in five of those six games. So they do appear to have a better chance of avoiding the wooden spoon really in this Group G fixture. It is unlikely to be the best of games though.
Panama and Tunisia have never met before.
Hard to see what this is going to mean to either of them and it could just be a matter of the squad players coming in to get a taste of the tournament. Still, the more likely winner at the end of the day is going to be Tunisia.

Belgium v Tunisia World Cup 2018, 22nd June – 7.00 p.m
Although it took them a while to settle down Belgium completed a comfortable win over Panama in the end in their opening game of the tournament. They may have to exercise some patience again when they meet Tunisia on Saturday as they Africans played a pretty negative game in a defeat against England in their first Group G fixture. Our Belgium v Tunisia predictions are leaning towards another three points for the Europeans.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 20th, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.)
The Red Devils took a while to get going in their opener against Panama but they got there in the end with a 3-0 success. Romelu Lukaku got himself a couple in the match and not too surprisingly the Manchester United man is up as the 12/5 first goalscorer favourite with bet365* (Betting Odds were taken from June 20th, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.). There could well be more goals in this for Belgium but they may have to be patient to make their breakthrough. That is because Tunisia were largely negative against England in their opener. But the thing about Belgium is that they do have those creative players like Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne who can open up a game in an instant and that extra star power is probably going to guide the Red Devils to a success here.
That would leave them with qualification secured ahead of their meeting with England in the final round of matches. There has to be a good look in our Belgium v Tunisia predictions at a Belgium to win to nil option at 10/11 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 20th, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.) which looks very generous. Belgium have conceded just the one goal in their last six games played (W5 D1) so they are in form at the back. Granted they didn’t play all that well in their opener, there was a lack of decisiveness and fluency in their first-half performance, but they still won comfortably at the end of the day. In the bet365 correct score market a Belgium 2-0 is the shortest-priced option at 11/2* (Betting Odds were taken from June 20th, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.) and if you wanted to get a bit bolder than a 3-0 for Belgium is at 15/2. Belgium have scored at least three goals in four of their last five games.
Tunisia are winless in four games now (D2 L2) losing their last two after suffering a 2-1 defeat against England in their opener. That is back to back to one-goal margin defaults that they suffered (against Spain and then England) so they do have some defensive qualities and those defeats followed back to back 2-2 draws against Portugal and Turkey in friendly games. They conceded to England in stoppage time, just as it looked as if their backs-to-the-wall tactics of sitting deep were going to get them a point. Tunisia’s goal came from a somewhat debatable penalty kick in the game, barely raising a threat to England’s defence aside from that. It is hard to picture Tunisia doing anything different tactically other than just playing a defensive game from the off because of how much a threat Belgium could be. We were a little surprised by their lack of attacking interest against the Three Lions and both teams not to score at bet365 is at 8/13 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 20th, 2018 at 9:29 p.m.). Even with them needing a win to keep themselves in the tournament it is not too likely to happen because we just cannot see where the quality in attack is.
There have been previous meetings between Belgium and Tunisia, three of them in fact. Things are even in the head to head actually with one win each and one draw. From the one previous occasion that they met in a World Cup fixture, there was a 1-1 draw played out back in 2002 during the group stage.
The Red Devils to win to nil has to be a pretty solid banker for this game in our predictions. They should get enough of the ball to keep Tunisia camped in their own half as the Africans did against England. It may be a game of patience but Belgium can win it.

(Full time: 1:2 – goals: Sassi (P) 25′ – Kane 11′, 90+1′)
England opens their World Cup account on Monday and the Three Lions are carrying form forward to the tournament. They will be expected winners but with their recent failures in major international tournaments there may be a few nerves around. Tunisia thanks to some decent current form may be a trickier opponent for England to handle than it first appeared. Looking at our betting tips for Tunisia v England a low scoring game is likely to crop up.
* (Betting Odds were taken on June 14th, 2018 at 5:54 p.m.)
Can Tunisia, come up with something to stifle England out of a victory? There is something that is probably on the back of many an English punters minds. Given their recent form, Tunisia may well make life difficult for the Three Lions. Tunisia have lost just one of their last 10 games, winning four goals. That lone defeat in that sequence happened in their final World Cup warm-up match when they fell 1-0 Spain. But they certainly made the Spaniards work hard for their spoils. So that will give them belief that they may be able to stick in there and frustrate England. In their two previous warm-up games before meeting Spain, Tunisia played out a 2-2 draw against both Portugal and Turkey and only conceded a 90th-minute equaliser to the Turks to deny them a win. Seeing Tunisia collect a victory in this one doesn’t look too likely, but England fans will be worried that the Africans could be strong enough to keep England at arm’s length. Either way, our Tunisia v England betting tips are looking at under 1.5 goals for 2/1 odds at William Hill* (Betting Odds were taken on June 14th, 2018 at 5:54 p.m.).
Can England avoid an early wobble in the tournament? That is the last thing that they would need. They need a confident start to get up and running and they will be looking to extend a 10 match undefeated streak that they have put together since the start of September 2017. Seven of the 10 games they have played in that sequence ended under 2.5 goals and five of them ended under the 1.5 goal line. So this is not likely to be a major goal-fest of a fixture and an England 1-0 at William Hill is at 4/1 odds* (Betting Odds were taken on June 14th, 2018 at 5:54 p.m.). While that doesn’t read as being a particularly positive result for England who are fully expected to record a victory, it would get them up and running and get them off the mark. That’s about the most important thing here. Just twice in their last nine games have England managed to produce more than one goal in a fixture.
Harry Kane is their big goalscoring hope at the tournament and Kane is the 13/5 odds* (Betting Odds were taken on June 14th, 2018 at 5:54 p.m.) first goalscorer favourite at William Hill. Just because of the results Tunisia have produced recently England are likely going to have to be patient to get anything out of this game. Backing the half-time draw, or going further by shooting for a draw/England half-time/full-time wager does have some appeal in our Tunisia v England betting tips. This may be an early test for the Three Lions especially with the expectancy of a victory on their shoulders, but they have looked fairly confident and fluent in attack in recent matches. They will have the chance to really open up when they face Panama in their second group stage match. For now, it is just about getting the win on the board.
This will be just the second meeting between England and Tunisia the previous one coming at the 1998 World Cup in France. That was an occasion marred with hooliganism and both nations this time around will be looking for a more pleasant, peaceful experience. England collected a 2-0 victory in that game over Tunisia in the group stage match.
Our Tunisia v England predictions are leaning towards this being a low-scoring game, but one that England should be able to edge. The Three Lions have looked fine in attack in recent friendlies other their goal output at the end of the day has not been high. So we are looking at an England 1-0 correct score option for their opener.
18th June 2018 / lee - Category: World Cup 2018 Betting
Spain will be putting the final touches to their World Cup 2018 preparations as they face up against Tunisia on the weekend. The Spaniards played out a friendly draw with Switzerland on the weekend while Tunisia battled to a 2-2 draw against Turkey. Like Spain, Tunisia will be also making their way to Russia 2018.
* (Betting Odds taken at 5:06 a.m. on June 6th, 2018)
From England’s perspective it will be interesting to see how Tunisia get on in this one albeit, of course, it being just a friendly. That is because the Three Lions will be facing the African nation in their World Cup 2018 opener. If you look at just Tunisia’s form alone and don’t take into consideration the opponents that they have been up against, they are actually in decent form. They are unbeaten in their last nine fixtures and they have shown a bit of grit in their last two international friendly in having played their way to a 2-2 draw against both Portugal and Turkey. So will they be a trickier opponent for England them perhaps they look?
Tunisia have scored in all but one of their last nine games played but getting enough of the ball against Spain to actually get on the scoresheet will be pretty tough for them. In the bet365 correct score market Spain 2-0 option is at 9/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 5:06 a.m. on June 6th, 2018) making it the shortest priced pick of the market. Spain and Tunisia have met once before and that was back at the 2006 World Cup a game which the Spaniards won 3-1. Given that this, of course, is just right before the World Cup it is more likely to be a procession and exercise in fitness more than competitiveness.
Spain warmed up with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland on the weekend and that means that they are still unbeaten since Euro 2016. They have drawn three of their last four games played which have all been friendly matches and they should be able to do enough with the ball to crack open the Tunisian defence. Spain actually have not kept the clean sheet in any of their last four games but they are 5/6 odds at bet365* (Betting Odds taken at 5:06 a.m. on June 6th, 2018) to win to nil in this one. At the end of the day given that this is a friendly and Spain are not going to want risk injuries then don’t expect the fireworks to happen in and under 2.5 goals makes sense to consider.
Spain are still likely to get the win on the board even at half interest going into this one. They may once again just be a test of patience for them but they are likely to crack Tunisia’s defence and get the victory and a Spain two-nil correct score looks to be right.
