Real Madrid 3/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 12th, 2019 at 11:25 p.m.)
Leganes picked up a 1-1 draw away at Alaves last weekend, their third game without a defeat in the league. Leganes are in pretty strong shape on home soil, losing just one of their last thirteen home fixtures. Overall this season on home soil they have picked up an excellent W7 D6 L2 record. In their home games against the current top-six, they are W1 D4. The one victory in those games was a 2-1 success over Barcelona.
Leganes have scored 18 goals at home this season which is an average of 1.2 per game. They have been tight defensively as they have conceded at under a goal per game on average. Just 27% of their home games have gone above 2.5 goals. In total Leganes have earned a clean sheet in 40% of their home fixtures. They have taken a clean sheet in three of their last five home league fixtures. Six of their seven home wins this term have been by a one-goal margin.
Real Madrid took a 4-1 home win over Leganes earlier this season in La Liga
The two traded home wins in the Copa del Rey this season as well
Real Madrid have won their two previous La Liga games at Leganes
Both teams have scored in four of the last six meetings
So this could be tricky road test for Real Madrid. The Whites lost their last game away from home, a 2-1 defeat against Valencia. That left them with a W8 D2 L5 record this season on their travels in the top flight. They were on a five-match winning streak away from home before that slip against Valencia. In total Real Madrid have averaged just under two goals per away game this term, with 80% of their road fixtures going over 2.5 goals.
They have not been tight at the back which is why the percentage of high scoring games is up. Real Madrid have picked up just one clean sheet away from home this season. That was in a tight 1-0 win at bottom side Huesca. Both teams have scored in 73% of Real Madrid’s away games. Home and away combined they have taken one clean sheet in their last nine league games. They have scored in each of their last eight away from home but have opened the scoring in just 7 of their 15 away games.
Leganes may well be able to hold their own in this one. Real Madrid don’t look a convincing side at all, certainly not up to their usual levels. Leganes are a strong home side and can easily grab a point out of this with an organised display. Draw.

Valencia continue their push towards a top-six finish after taking an important three points out at Sevilla on the weekend. That win saw them move into sixth at the expense of Seville on goal difference. Three points at home against Real Madrid would be very handy. Real Madrid 10/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 31st, 2019 at 8:49 p.m.)
Valencia got a great 1-0 away win at Sevilla on the weekend, a vital game in the race for a top six finish. At home, this season Valencia have returned only the four wins, but they have only lost once at the Mestalla in the league (W4 D10 L1). They are a rock-solid side in defence having conceded just the 8 goals in their 15 home fixtures, which is fantastic. Their big focus is on defence though as they are not prolific in front of goal, averaging just a shade over a goal per game on home soil.
Valencia are undefeated in their last nine league home games, not conceding in any of their last five. Home and away they are undefeated in their last eleven games and they are just are so hard to actually get the better of. The half time home record of Valencia is a W4 D10 L1, the exact same record as what their overall home form is. Valencia have earned a clean sheet in 47% of their home games. They have scored 69% of their home goals in the second half of fixtures at home this season. Anything out of this would be a huge bonus for them.
Valencia lost 2-0 at the Bernabeu earlier this season
Real Madrid are undefeated in their last four against Valencia
Valencia have lost just one of their last four at home against Real Madrid
Both teams have scored in all but one of the last twelve meetings
Real Madrid were expected to coast at home to bottom side Huesca on the weekend. It didn’t quite pan out that way. Real Madrid had to come from behind in the game early on. Boss Zinidane Zidane started with third keeper Luca, his son. They only got their three points thanks to a goal from Karim Benzema a minute from time. That did move them onto a three-match winning streak in the league, having scored at least two goals in each of those. It is worth noting that each of those wins were against sides who are currently sat inside of the bottom five.
They will get a much stiffer challenge here. Real Madrid’s away record is at W8 D2 L4 for the season. They are in good shape on the road. They have put together a five-match winning streak on their travels, going undefeated in their last seven (W6 D1). It is worth a look at their away from against the stronger sides though. They are W1 D1 L3 in their away games against sides currently in the top eight. Real Madrid have managed only one clean sheet this season away from home and none in their last six.
Valencia are tough to beat and could get under the skin of a Real Madrid side who haven’t proven themselves against anyone other than weaker teams recently. Valencia have the defensive mindset to hold the visitors off and a Double Chance on the home side has appeal.

Real Madrid 1/9
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 29th, 2019 at 6:43 p.m.)
Real Madrid recovered from their slump of two defeats in three, by having won their last two league games. In their last league game, they took a 2-0 home win over Celta Vigo, snapping a run of back to back home losses in the league against Girona and then Barcelona. Real Madrid have home form of W9 D1 L4 this season in the Spanish top flight. In that sequence of matches, they have scored 21 goals at an average of 1.5 per game. Their defence has been good in general, having conceded just 8 in 14 at the Bernabeu.
Just 29% of Real Madrid’s home games this season have gone over 2.5 goals. They have banked a clean sheet in 64% of their home fixtures. Real Madrid haven’t been in a draw at home in any of their last ten. Of their home goals scored, 67% of them have been after the half time break. Of their 14 second-half goals, 8 of them have been in the final fifteen minutes of matches. Real Madrid have opened the scoring in all but four of their home games this term but have only been leading at half time in six.
Real Madrid won 1-0 at Huesca in December
That was their first ever league meeting
Huesca look to be heading straight back down to the second tier at the end of the season. They head into the weekend bottom of the league and eight points from safety. They have lost their last two played, going down against Getafe and Alaves. Huesca have netted in each of their last four games played in the league, but they have gone without a clean sheet in any of their last five, home and away. In total, Huesca have managed 13 goals on their travels this season.
Their away record is at just W2 D3 L9 this season. They have lost all six of their games away from home played against the current top-seven. Huesca conceded at least two goals in each of those but did score in four of them. This season away from home Huesca have conceded at an average of almost two per game, having managed a clean sheet in just 14% of games. They have won only one of their last twelve on the road. 62% of their away goals have been scored in the first half of matches and six of their nine road defeats have been by a one-goal margin.
We don’t see Real Madrid slipping up in the game at all. They are naturally going to be more organised under Zidane, especially at the back. It is worth having a flutter on Real Madrid to win to nil on home soil. The visitors aren’t likely going to land much of a glove on them.

Real Madrid 9/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 27th, 2019 at 10:34 p.m.)
Real Madrid head into the weekend trailing league leaders Barcelona by nine points in the table. A defeat in this one will pretty much wipe out their slim title hopes. Real Madrid have won six of their last seven league outings, last weekend taking a 2-1 away win at Levante. Their overall home form is W8 D1 L3 this season. They were totally schooled in midweek in the Copa del Rey by Barcelona though which has to be a big worry for them.
Gareth Bale has avoided a ban for a celebration gesture recently which could have gotten him into hot water. Real Madrid were upset in their last league home game as they were beaten 2-1 by Girona. Real Madrid have only averaged 1.5 goals per home fixture this season in La Liga, which is nothing special by their standards. Only 33% of their league home games have gone over 2.5 goals. Madrid have shipped only the seven goals in their twelve home fixtures with a clean sheet in 67% of games. They are W2 L2 in their last four home games in the Spanish top flight.
Barcelona have won back to back games at Real Madrid 3-0
Barcelona are unbeaten in five games in all competitions against Madrid
Five of the last seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
Real Madrid have won one of their last five at home against Barca
Barcelona are on an undefeated streak of thirteen matches in the top flight. Away from home specifically they are undefeated in nine. Barcelona have won five of their last six away games, the only exception in that sequence being a 0-0 at Atletico Bilbao in the middle of February. Barcelona have averaged over two goals per road game and they have only conceded the ten goals on their travels. They have two clean sheets in their last three on the road.
In total, they have taken a clean sheet in 42% of road games this season in La Liga. Barcelona have opened the scoring in seven of their twelve road games, while they have been leading at the half time break in five of them. They are the current top scorers in the league by a country mile pretty much. They have tallied 65 league goals, with Real Madrid having the next highest tally of 43. Barcelona boast the best away record in the top flight as well.
Barcelona will be full of confidence after their midweek win at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid really had no answer at all in the game. Because of that, we can only expect more of the same in the weekend’s El Clasico. Barcelona to win.

There is a clear highlight match in La Liga this weekend, it is, of course, the Madrid derby. It’s a big one too as it could have a big bearing on the outcome of this season’s top three. It is Atletico who will go into the match defending a two-point lead in second place over their rivals. Read our Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid betting tips for more.
Atletico Madrid 11/8
Real madrid 21/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 7th, 2019 at 8:30 p.m.)
The three points available in this one would be hugely important for Atletico Madrid. They would move five points clear, a very nice cushion, over Real Madrid. It has been another fantastic season from Atletico however, they had an uncharacteristic slip up last weekend. They lost 1-0 at Real Betis. That was only their second league loss of the season. Before that loss against Betis, Atletico Madrid were W6 D1 in seven league outings.
They remain undefeated on home soil this season still though, having picked up a W9 D2 record at the Metropolitano. Atletico have taken a clean sheet in 73% of their home league games, and eight of their nine home wins this season have been with a clean sheet. Atletico have conceded just four goals in their eleven home fixtures. Just 25% of their league home games have gone over 2.5 goals.
Real Madrid have started to put together a good stretch of form which has seen them win four league games on the bounce. They have only recorded the one loss in their last nine league games now as well (W7 D1). Can they extend that good momentum in this tough away game though? After losing four of their opening seven away games this season, they have improved to put together a W4 D1 L1 record in their last six road fixtures.
Real Madrid have won back to back away games. But it is worth a closer look at their away record against sides who are currently in the top ten. Real Madrid are only W1 L4 from five such fixtures this season. The overall record of Real Madrid on the road is W5 D2 L4. 73% of their away fixtures have ended up over 2.5 goals and real have averaged 1.7 goals per road game. Real Madrid will be looking for just their second away clean sheet all season.
There have been a lot of tight battles between the two of them recently. This could well be the same. Atletico know how to frustrate sides, they are experts at it. But the power of their home form against Real Madrid’s lack of away clean sheets may tip the balance in favour of a home victory at 11/8 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 7th, 2019 at 8:30 p.m.)

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 30th, 2018 at 7:38 p.m.)
In their last game before the winter break, Villarreal were held to a 2-2 draw at bottom side Huesca
It left the Yellow Submarines with just the one win in their last ten league games
They have only managed to win one home game all season (D3 L4)
Villarreal have only managed the seven home goals this season
They have conceded the ten on home soil, 80% of them after half time
Villarreal have scored 86% of their home games in the first half of matches
It has led to just 38% of their home fixtures having gone above 2.5 goals
Villarreal have only managed one home clean sheet this season
They are nine points worse off than they were at this stage last season
All four of their home losses this season have been by a one-goal margin
They have yet to be leading at the break in any home game this term
In seven of their eight home fixtures, Villarreal have been level at half time
Villarreal have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last ten league games
They return to action third from bottom, a point from safety
There was a 2-2 tie in this corresponding fixture last season
Villarreal have lost just one of the last four against Real Madrid (D2 L1)
Villarreal are W1 D1 L1 in their last three at home against Real
Real Madrid are W12 D11 L4 in their history against Villarreal
Real Madrid won their last three league games before the winter break
Each of those wins were with a clean sheet as well
Los Merengues are W5 L1 in their last six La Liga outings
Their overall away record this season is only W3 D1 L4
They have lost four of their last six on the road in La Liga
They have tallied just the eleven goals on their travels so far
62% of their away games have made it over 2.5 goals
Real Madrid have won their last two away games, scoring five goals
Los Merengues have only managed the one clean sheet away from the Bernabeu
In four of their eight away games, Real Madrid have been losing at half time
They have scored 73% of their away goals in the second half of matches
Just twice this season have Los Merengues opened the scoring in an away game
It has been poor form Villarreal this season and until there is reason to suggest different is coming in their current form, the away win has to be the leading proposition here. Given the clean sheets they took before the break, it’s Real Madrid to win to nil.

This is one of the most anticipated fixtures in European football, but strangely it is missing a little something. Real Madrid 13/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 29th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.)
Barcelona head into weekend action at the top of La Liga with a W5 D3 L1 record. They were winless in four before the international break but responded with a 4-2 win over Sevilla on their return to action last weekend. That was a top-two battle them as well. Barcelona will be defending unbeaten home form this season in the league and they have scored at least two goals in all but one of those games.
Over 2.5 goals is at 8/15 odds for the game* (betting odds taken on October 25th, 2018 at 10:23 pm). There are plenty of stats to back that up as 80% of Barcelona’s home games this season have gone over 2.5 goals and 60% of them have made it even further over 3.5 goals. Barcelona themselves have averaged 3.6 goals per home game this season for a total of 18 in four games.
They have had their issues defensively though because after opening with back to back clean sheets, they have not earned one in any of their last seven league games now in the top flight. Both teams to score is at 1/2 odds* (betting odds taken on October 25th, 2018 at 10:23 pm). Of that massive 18 goal tally at the Nou Camp, twelve of them have been in the second half of their matches.
Lionel Messi has a fractured arm so is out and that leaves Luis Suarez at 10/3 odds and as the favourite in the first goalscorer market* (betting odds taken on October 25th, 2018 at 10:23 pm). Given his scoring form, that is a blow for Barca to miss Messi, who is the all-time goal-scoring leader in the history of the Clasico with 26 goals and fourteen assists.
For the first time since 2007, neither Messi or Ronaldo will be appearing in a Clasico
Barcelona have won four of their last six games against Madrid (D1 L1)
In their last four at the Nou Camp against Madrid, Barcelona are W1 D2 L1
Both teams have scored in eight of the last ten league clashes
13 of the last 15 between them in all competitions have produced at least 3 goals in each
Real Madrid are struggling at the moment. In La Liga, they are winless in four with a terrible D1 L3 record including shock losses against Alaves and Levante. They were D1 L4 in all competitions before an unconvincing home win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League in midweek. That’s three goals in their last six games in all competitions, and two of those have been from defender Marcelo. Overall Los Blancos are W4 D2 L3 this season and are only W1 D1 L2 away from the Bernabeu.
So with some clear problem in scoring (one goal in four league games) a Barcelona 2-1 correct score is at 15/2 odds* (betting odds taken on October 25th, 2018 at 10:23 pm). The recent head to head still points to Madrid getting on the scoresheet. Los Blancos have faced two for the current top four away from home and have lost both games without scoring. In total, they have come up with five away goals, while they have conceded six goals on their travels.
They don’t have a clean sheet away from the Bernabeu so far and in last season’s campaign after nine games, Real Madrid were six points better off than they currently are. Gareth Bale is their 13/10 shortest priced anytime goalscorer option* (betting odds taken on October 25th, 2018 at 10:23 pm). Just to highlight their lack of scoring this season, they equalised a record last year for scoring in 73 consecutive games. They have failed to score in four of their nine league outings this season.
We can’t look past Barcelona and although Real Madrid are struggling for goals, we are going to back both teams to score here. But Barcelona look in much better shape in terms of depth than their rivals do and heap more misery on Madrid.

Real Madrid 1/8
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 17th, 2018 at 9:00 p.m.)
After a bright start, things have gone off the boil for Real Madrid. They have failed to win any of their last three league games and have just a W1 D2 L2 record in their last five. Before the international break, they suffered a 1-0 loss out at Alaves. That leaves them without a goal since Marco Asensio first-half goal against Espanyol back on September 22nd. That includes a run where they lost 1-0 at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League too.
It may be worth a look under 2.5 goals at the moment then for 12/5 odds* (betting odds taken on October 17th, 2018 at 3:07 pm). Real Madrid are unbeaten at home with a W3 D1 record when they have averaged under two goals per game but have conceded only the one. Just one of their four home games this season have made it over 2.5 goals surprisingly. If you are backing Los Blancos then it may well be worth getting behind them to do it to nil for some extended value.
Levante beat Alaves and Getafe back to back before the international break. Both of those were one-goal margin wins moving them on to a W3 D1 L4 record for the season. Their win over Alaves at the end of September snapped a run of one point from five matches that they suffered. Away from home, they are W2 L2 for the season, scoring just two goals in their last three on the road.
A Real Madrid 2-0 correct score option at 15/2 odds* (betting odds taken on October 17th, 2018 at 3:07 pm) does seem to fit the bill nicely here. Levante have scored four of their five away goals in the second half of matches. All three of their away goals conceded have all been in the first fifteen minute period of the second half. It is a good time to be meeting Real Madrid, but can Levante do enough?
Real Madrid have won four of the last six between these two in the Spanish top flight and are unbeaten in that sequence (D2). So they do have the form and each of their last three wins against Levante have been with a clean sheet as well. Real Madrid have scored at least two goals in five of their last six against them.
Even though Real Madrid have had a tough time of things, we are going to back them to come through this game with three points in the bag. Levante did turn their fortunes around before the break, but they have lost both games against current top five sides this season.

Alaves may mount something of a challenge in this one as they have had a good season so far and start in the top six this weekend. Real Madrid have just gone off the boil slightly so it is a good time perhaps for Alaves to be meeting them. Read our Alaves v Real Madrid betting tips for more.
Real Madrid 2/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 4th, 2018 at 1:53 p.m.)
Alaves can be pretty pleased with their work this season in the top flight as they go into the weekend with a W3 D2 L2 record. They suffered what was their second defeat of the season last weekend when they went down against Levante. That broke their good run of five undefeated in the league that they were on. They are still undefeated on home soil for the season with a W1 D2 record up on the board.
They aren’t a side that you really look to for a lot of goals. Because of that, under 2.5 goals feels like it is worth a flutter at 6/4 odds* (betting odds taken on October 5th, 2018 at 2:05 pm). All of their home goals which have been scored this season have been netted in the second half of games. Because of that, the half time draw does have appeal.
Gareth Bale remains an injury doubt for real Madrid. He was rested in midweek as Los Blancos suffered a shock loss against CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League. So that is a three-match winless streak that Los Blancos are on at the moment (D1 L2) and they have failed to score a single goal in that sequence of games. They badly need to bounce-back. They were held to 0-0 draw at home against rivals Atletico Madrid in the big derby match last weekend.
Real Madrid are W1 D1 L1 on the road this term, the lone defeat coming in their most recent road game, a heavy 3-0 at Sevilla. While they have some fantastic head to head form against Alaves, and even though Real Madrid are undefeated in 17 of their last 19 league games, but they look a bit shaky at the moment. Looking at the current standings the 1-1 correct score has appeal in the correct score market at 8/1 odds* (betting odds taken on October 5th, 2018 at 2:05 pm).
Real Madrid won both league meetings with Alaves last season but there was on a narrow one on the road against them. Los Blancos are on a nine-match winning streak against Alaves in league action and have four clean sheets in their last six against them.
Alaves have done well this season and we are going to back them to get something out of this game. With Real Madrid not running in top gear, there could be enough in this for the home side to pick up a point. draw.
