It is a home advantage for Rangers on matchday one of the Europa League. They will be looking for a big night at Ibrox to take some early control of this group. Feyenoord have struggled in European away games in recent fixtures and there could be a good night for the Gers. Read our Rangers v Feyenoord betting tips for more.

Rangers hold a W5 D4 L7 record against Dutch club. In those sixteen games, the Scottish side have failed to score in eight, including the last three. Their most recent meeting with a Dutch side was a 1-0 home loss against PSV in the 201/11 Europa League round of sixteen. The Gers were runner up to Celtic in the Scottish to flight last season. That left them entering the Europa League at the first qualifying round.
A late goal by Alfredo Morelos gave them a playoff win over Legia Warsaw. The Gers are unbeaten in 13 home European games now, winning nine of them (including qualifiers). They have won all four at Ibrox this season. Rangers have shipped just 5 goals in their last 13 home games and haven’t conceded more than one goal in any of their last nine home European fixtures.
Rangers and Feyenoord met in the 2002 UEFA Cup
There was a 1-1 draw at Ibrox
The Dutch side won their home game 3-2 against the Gers
Feyenoord started their qualification campaign in the third round. They came through that qualification campaign completely untroubled. This is the third time that they have been in the group stage of the Europa League. In their most recent, back in the 2016/17 season, they only took a third-place finish despite opening with a home win over Manchester United. They snapped a run of nine European away games without a victory (D3 L6) with a win in Israel against Hapoel Beer Sheva in the third qualifying round of this campaign. Still, it has been only two successes in their last 21 European road games, losing fifteen on those.
Feyenoord are not good travellers in Europe and this is a good chance for Rangers to get off the mark. The home form of the Gers in Europe is excellent and they don’t give much up at the back. A home win to nil looks a decent proposition for this fixture.

A heated rivalry is renewed for the first time this season as reigning Scottish Champions Celtic make the short trip across Glasgow to face Rangers. Both of them have made perfect starts to the season, so something is going to have to give on Sunday. Read our Rangers v Celtic betting tips for more.

Can Rangers make the most of home advantage and take an early lead in the title race over their rivals? Rangers have won all three of their league games this season. Sandwiched in between one-goal margin away wins at Kilmarnock and St Mirren, Rangers took a 6-1 win at Ibrox in their only home game of the campaign so far. That wasagainst Hibs.
Rangers have been busy in the Europa League qualifiers as well. Jermain Defoe is their top scorer in the league this season with three goals, followed by Alfredo Morelos with two. Since taking over at the club, Steven Gerrard has largely based his project on defence. But it has been just the one clean sheet from three played this season in the top flight. Eight of the ten top-flight goals they have scored have been in the second half of fixtures.
Rangers won both home league games against Celtic last term
Each of the last five league meetings have ended in a home win
Both teams have scored in just two of the last nine meetings in all competitions
Celtic have outscored Rangers 15-9 in this season’s Premiership
It is four wins from four for Celtic so far this season in the Premiership. They have scored a total of fifteen goals across those fixtures as well. Top scorer for them this season in the top flight is Ryan Christie with four goals. So he is going to be worth a look in the goalscorer markets given his form. James Forrest has produced a club leading three assists.
This is just a second away game of the season for Celtic in the top flight. Their previous one turned up a 5-2 win for them at Motherwell. The concern, after their home win over Hearts on the weekend, will be the lack of clean sheets. 60% of their goals in the top flight this season have been in the second period of matches. The average time of Celtic scoring the first goal this season is 25 minutes.
This should be a glorious chance for Rangers to get another one over on their old rivals. Steven Gerrard’s men are carrying form, look much sharper than they did last season and have home advantage. Rangers to win.

Rangers have some work to do as this tie hangs in the balance. It was a 0-0 draw that they played out in Poland for the first leg. While they are favourites to get through, there is always that threat of the visitors getting an away goal. Read our Rangers v Legia Warsaw betting tips for more.
Legia Warsaw 7/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 25th, 2019 at 8:28 p.m.)
It was a 0-0 draw in the first leg of this tie, which, when you look at Legia Warsaw’s results this season, wasn’t unexpected. Will Rangers be able to make the breakthrough against a watertight defence at Ibrox? The timing of this is not great for the Gers really, because this is a high-pressure game just ahead of their first meeting of the season against rivals Celtic in the Scottish top flight on the weekend.
Rangers are carrying good form though with a win in five of their last six played (D1). In the previous round of the Europa League, the Gers beat Midtjylland 7-3 on aggregate. Rangers are unbeaten in their 2019/20 Europa League campaign, winning all but two of their seven games.
The two exceptions were a 0-0 draw at Progres and then against Legia away from home. At Ibrox, it is a twelve match undefeated streak of former in their last 12 Europa League games that the Gers are on. They have won their last three in a row there, scoring 11 and conceding 1 in that sequence.
This tie is the first meeting between Rangers and Legia Warsaw
There is no way that Legia Warsaw area going to turn up in Glasgow and just rollover. It is an eight-match undefeated streak of form that they are in the Europa League, but they have drawn five of those. Legia are W1 D3 in their last four played in the competition this season. Of the seven games in the Europa League which they have played this season, four of them have ended in a 0-0 draw. The Polish side haven’t conceded a single goal in qualification yet.
While that speaks volumes about their defence, do they have enough in the attack? But it is the defence which takes centre stage. Can Rangers break them down? It may be another big test of patience from the Gers. Warsaw’s away form in the competition may offer some hope to Rangers fans. Legia Warsaw have won only one of their last nine on the road in the competition and are W1 D4 in their last five. Note though that they did take a clean sheet in four of those five games.
We expect another tight battle between these two as there was not much splitting them in the first game. But with home advantage, we will lean towards a 1 goal margin win for Rangers.

The Gers may have to dig their heels in as they make a trip to Poland for the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie. Rangers have been ticking over in good form so far this season but they are going to go up against a Legia Warsaw side who are proving to be a superb defensive team. Legia Warsaw 6/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 18th, 2019 7:27 p.m.)
There is nothing wrong with the form of Legia Warsaw this season. They started their Europa League campaign in the first qualifying round where they eased to a 3-0 aggregates success over Europa. Then they were relatively untroubled in getting past KUPS Kuopio in the next round. Their third qualifying round tie, Legia Warsaw wrapped up away from home with a 2-0 aggregate win over Atromitos. That is six Europa League games played this season, no goals conceded. Their home form from their ties so far this season is W2 D1. So they could prove to be a very stubborn opponent for Rangers to break down. Legia Warsaw have failed in their last four qualification campaigns to reach the group stage of a UEFA tournament.
This is the first meeting between the two clubs
Rangers have been very strong through the early part of the season. They too started in the first qualifying round of the Europa League where they thumped St Joseph’s 10-0 on aggregate. Then they collected a relatively comfortable 2-0 aggregate win over Progres Niedercorn before winning out 7-3 on aggregate over Midtjylland in an entertaining third qualifying round tie.
That is a W8 D1 record that Rangers have taken in all competitions this season and they have scored at least two goals in all of their wins. The thing that boss Steven Gerrard is going to be a little bit concerned about is the lack of clean sheets. They conceded in both legs against Midtjylland and have bagged only one clean sheet in their last five games across all competitions.
Given the defensive output that Legia Warsaw have produced this season then this could be a tough game for the visiting Rangers. However, Rangers are in pretty good nick at the moment and they may be able to avoid defeat. Draw.

The first leg of this third qualifying round tie in the Europa League was pretty intriguing. Rangers take a 4-2 advantage back to Ibrox with them. So they are carrying and advantage, but the Danish side look capable of raising a challenge. Read our Rangers v FC Midtjylland betting tips for more.
FC Midtjylland 4/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 12th, 2019 at 8:04 p.m.)
It has been a pretty good start to the new season by Rangers. Not only have they won their opening two games of the new Scottish top-flight season, but they have made progress in the Europa League. They took a 1-0 lead at the half time break out in Denmark in the first leg of this contest. Then things went crazy. Rangers found themselves 3-0 up, but less than ten minutes later had been pegged back to 3-2. Rangers managed to get another on the board to extend their advantage again.
That is a W6 D1 record that the Gers have taken this season in all competitions. Both teams have scored in each of their last three games played so that’s worth considering as a betting option. Rangers have netted at a total of 14 goals in their three games played at Ibrox this season. Their Europa League campaign started with a 10-0 aggregate win over St Josephs before a 2-0 aggregate win over Progres Niedercorn. There will just be some concern over their defence, but they seem to have their goal-scoring flowing well. Rangers are W6 D3 in their last nine Europa League home games.
The first leg of his tie was the first meeting between the two clubs
For starters, Midtjylland has netted in all six games that they have played this season across all competitions. So it will be interesting to see what they can come up with. They are W5 L1 in their six fixtures played this season. They came into the Europa League qualifiers at this third round stage, but they had played four games of the new Danish SAS Ligaen season before that, so had some match sharpness behind them.
They have a mixed record on the road in the Europa League. They have posted a W4 D2 L3 record in their last three qualification campaign away from home. It is worth noting though that they have scored at least two goals in each of their last five European away games. They are going to need at least three on the night to get through, so they can’t exactly sit back.
Hopefully, this is another fully entertaining game between these two. It looks as if the Danish side are carrying enough of an attacking threat to get themselves on the scoresheet at Ibrox. But still, we would expect Rangers to close out the deal.

FC Midtjylland 13/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 5th, 2019 at 10:15 p.m.)
Midtjylland are four games into their new domestic league season (W4) and this is going to be their entry into this season’s Europa League. That is because of their second-place finish in the Danish top-flight last season (behind FC Copenhagen). In last season’s Europa League, the Danish side failed to reach the group stage after falling 4-2 on aggregate to Swedish side Malmo in the playoff round.
They are a side who have been struggling for a bit of form on the Euro pan front. They are now W2 D3 L3 in their last eight European fixtures and have failed to score in three of their last six. In total then they have lost three of their last four two-legged ties. They do though have a very good European home record. They are W4 D2 L1 in their last seven on home turf.
This is the first meeting between the two teams
Rangers started back in the first qualifying round of the Europa League where they took a 10-0 aggregate success of St Joseph’s. It was then more relatively comfortable progress for them as they eased past Progres Niedercorn 2-0 on aggregate. They were expected to do a slightly better job against the Luxembourg side though. But that is at least no goal conceded so far on their European adventures.
The Gers started their new domestic season on the weekend with dramatic late win over Kilmarnock. The away form of Rangers in Europe could be a bit of an issue. They are just W2 D5 L2 in their last nine road games, winning just one of their last seven (a 4-0 success at St Joseph’s this season). So this could just be one of those nights where they are cautious and dig in in order to try and put their foot on the gas when they get back to Ibrox.
The Danish side are going to be a threat in this game on home soil. Their margins of victory have all been narrow ones this season. So we are going to have a look at that trend continuing. FC Midtjylland to win by a one-goal margin.

Rangers will begin their latest quest to try and close the gap on their rivals Celtic. It was a second-place finish in the league that the Gers took last season, nine points behind Celtic. They are out on the road to start with, a tricky game against Killie who finished just one place behind Rangers last season in the standings. Read our predictions for Kilmarnock v Rangers.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 28th, 2019 at 8:53 p.m.)
Killie posted a W12 D2 L5 record on home soil last season. They did manage to avoid defeat against Rangers along the way, so they will have the belief that they can get something out of this fixture. Kilmarnock have already been rocked this season though. They were upset in the Europa League first qualifying round against Welsh side Connah’s Quay. Killie had taken a 2-1 away win in the first leg but crumbled under pressure, losing 2-0 back at McDiarmid Park.
What kind of a wake-up call would that have been for them? It was such a huge blow after working so hard to get their third-place finish in last season’s Premiership. Kilmarnock scored an average of 1.7 goals per home game last season, collecting a clean sheet in 37%. All five of the home defeats which they suffered were by a one-goal margin only. Seven of their twelve home wins were recorded by a margin of at least two goals.
Killie took back to back 2-1league home wins over Rangers last season
From seven meetings last season Kilmarnock went W2 D3 L2
Both teams scored in five of the seven meetings last season
Rangers are winless in their last three trips to McDiarmid Park (D1 L2)
Rangers have been in European action as well. They thumped St Josephs 10-0 in the first qualifying round of the Europa League before going to battle against Progres Niedercorn. The overall record that Rangers took in last season’s Premiership was W23 D9 L6. There were just too many dropped points at crucial times by them to mount a serious threat to Celtic’s title dominance. Will they be able to press on and get closer this time around?
Five of the six losses that Rangers suffered in the top flight last season happened away from home. They finished the season with a W9 D5 L5 record on their travels. A huge positive for them was they scored an average of just under two goals per away game. They just couldn’t replicate their superb home defensive record though away from Ibrox. Their big summer signing has been defender Filip Helander from Bologna for over four million pounds.
Rangers win: There is a temptation to consider Kilmarnock here because of how they handled themselves against Rangers last season. But their misfire against Connah’s Quay is still fresh in the mind. It may be a good time for Rangers to be heading there. Rangers to win & both teams to score.

Revenge was sweet for Rangers in the first leg of this second qualifying round tie in the Europa League. Back in 2017 the Gers crashed out in the first qualifying round of the competition against the Luxembourg side. It was a 2-0 away blow that they suffered back then. They look far more comfortable this go around as Rangers lead the tie 2-0. Read our Progres Niederkorn v Rangers betting tips for more.
Progres Niederkorn 8.1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 28th, 2019 at 8.18 p.m.)
The Luxembourg side have been busy so far in the summer as they started their Europa League qualifying campaign in a pre-qualifiers. In that tie they were up against Cardiff Met and got through that only on away goals. They had won 1-0 at home before losing 2-1 on the road. That put them up against Cork City in the first qualifying round proper. Again it was a tight squeeze by Progress as they won 3-2 on aggregate in the tie, losing their home leg 2-1. Now they are facing a 2-0 deficit against Rangers. The loss at home against Cork snapped a three match undefeated streak of home form that they were on in Europe (W2 D1). In last season’s Europa League qualifiers they made it to the third round where they were stopped 4-3 on aggregate by Ufa.
Rangers lost their one previous trip to Progres 1-0
Rangers won the other two meetings with a clean sheet
Rangers will be happy with their lot at the moment. They will be hoping for a relaxed and comfortable evening in Luxembourg and will be looking to not work too hard. That is because their Scottish Premiership season kicks off on the weekend. So they won’t want this to distract from that. In the first qualifying round of this season’s Europa League Rangers took a 10-0 aggregate win over St Jospehs. In the away game in that tie Rangers banked a 4-0 success.
Rangers made it to the group stage of last season’s Europa League having started in the first qualifying round on those occasions as well. Their win at St Josephs in the last round snapped a five match winless streak of away from that they were on. They have not conceded in any of their last four qualification matches away from home in the Europa League. Both teams have scored in just one of Rangers’s last five European games.
Rangers were comfortable in the first leg of this tie. The nightmares of their 2017 visit to Progres should be far behind them at the close of this tie. Rangers are much stronger side at the moment and they can go and get another win to nil.,

It’s funny how things come around. Back in the 2017/18 Europa League qualifying first round, Rangers suffered a shock exit against Progres Niederkorn. Progres NIederkorn 16/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on July 21st, 2019 at 5.05 p.m.)
Rangers had an easy time of things in the opening round of the Europa League qualifiers. They powered their way to a 10-0 aggregate win over Gibraltar’s St Josephs. So that was a nice comfortable introduction to this early summer action. Rangers will be looking to make the most of home soil advantage to give themselves a comfortable time in the reverse fixture. The Gers are currently unbeaten in their last ten European games at Ibrox. They have also conceded just one goal in their last five home games in Europe. So that would point to this being a comfortable fixture of them. Alfredo Morelos scored four goals across their two games against St Josphens.
Rangers took a 1-0 home win over Progress in 2017
They then lost the away leg 2-0
Progress Niederkorn had to get through a preliminary qualifying tie against Cardiff MU to start with this season. They did that thanks to an away goal success in the tie. They were then up against Cork City in the first qualifying round of the tournament where they produced a 3-2 aggregate win. So it has been touch and go from them so far with a W2 L2 record in their four games played so far. It suggests that they are going to struggle in Glasgow. In last season’s Europa League qualifiers they did make it through to the third qualifying round where they were stopped by Russian side Ufa. They hold a W5 D2 L14 record in the UEFA Cup/Europa League but all five of those wins have been in their last three campaigns, inclusive of this one.
Rangers have hit the ground running with plenty of goals netted against St Josephs. This should be equally as comfortable for Steven Gerrard’s men and they should be looking to finish this tie really in this first leg at home.

Rangers head into some competitive action in the first qualifying round of the Europa League. We aren’t likely to see a full strength side out in this one by them as they make the trip to Gibraltar. St Joseph came through the qualifying first round. Read our St Josephs v Rangers betting tips for more.
St Josephs 20/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from William Hill on July 7th, 2019 at 3:49 a.m.)
This fixture has been scheduled for Tuesday because of St Joseph’s ground isn’t suitable for European matches by UEFA’s standards. So they are going to be playing this at the Victoria Stadium (home of the Gibraltar National Team) because another team (Europa) is playing there in the Europa League on Thursday.
St Josephs came through the challenge of Prishtina (who was reduced to nine men in the second leg of their tie) to get through their preliminary qualification round with a 3-1 win. This is the second time that they have been in the Europa League 1st Qualifying Round. They lost 10-0 on aggregate against AEL Limassol in 2017. Their overall record in the Europa League (all qualifiers) is W1 D3 L2.
Last season Rangers made it all the way from the first qualifying round into the group stage of the main draw. They didn’t make it any further. In the season before that, they lost in a shocker against Progres Niederkorn in the first qualifying round. But their run last year under Steven Gerrard through the qualifiers was solid and unspectacular as you would expect.
Their overall record in the UEFA Cup/Europa League is W39 D28 L28. Rangers have been busy in pre-season beating Mansfield, TNS and then putting a 5-0 win over Oxford on the board on Sunday in some friendly action. A clean sheet for Rangers is at 3/10* (Betting Odds were taken from William Hill on July 7th, 2019 at 3:49 a.m.).
This should be a routine game for Rangers. Their understrength teams have looked relatively sharp in their pre-season friendly work. They shouldn’t find the going tough against St Josephs who finished third in their league last year. Rangers to win to nil.
