Forest collected a win last weekend to snap out of a small dip of form. They will be kicking off in fifth place in the table and will jump up a spot with three points in the bag. Derby have started to get a few wins under their belt, but their form overall remains pretty unpredictable. Who will come out on top in the East Midlands derby? Nottingham Forest 6/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 7th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)
Forest took a 2-1 away win at Luton last weekend which was a big lift for them as they had lost their two previous games. So they will be looking to build up a big head of steam which saw them put together a 10 match undefeated streak of form earlier this season. The home form of Forest this season is W3 D1 L2, losing their last one at the City Ground 1-2 against Hull. All of their home wins this season have been with a clean sheet, but all have been against sides who are currently in the bottom half of the table.
That is where Saturday’s opponents Derby are. Forest have only conceded the five home goals this season, taking a clean sheet in three of their six at the City Ground. Six of the seven league victories that Nottingham Forest have taken in the Championships this season have been by one goal margin only. That’s a decent betting trend to size up. Forest have scored two-thirds of goals in the second half of games.
Derby have failed to score in their last three visits to the City Ground (all competitions)
Both teams have scored in one of the last 9 meetings in all competition
There has not been an away win in any of the last eight league meetings
Forest have won one of the last seven league meetings (D3 L3)
The Rams are four points worse off than they were at this stage of last season’s campaign. They have only managed to get one away win under their belt this season in their league and their home form has been keeping them afloat. While they have won their last four home games on the bounce, they have gone winless in six on the road, losing their last two. Derby have failed to score in their last two away games.
The Rams have conceded at an average of two goals per away game this season, averaging one goal per game themselves. 71% of their away games have made it over 2.5 goals. Derby have lost three of their four away games against teams who are currently sitting above them in the table. The Rams are yet to earn a clean sheet on their travels and three of their defeats this season have been by a margin of at least two goals. They have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three away games in the Championship.
Nottingham Forest look good for a home win here. The away form of Derby is pretty much non-existent at the moment and the Rams are not a scoring threat on their travels. The home win to nil is well worth considering for this East Midlands derby.
