Netherlands vs Estonia Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 19th November 7.45 pm

The Netherlands have secured a spot at Euro 2020, which is something that they really needed after recent misfires in quantification for major tournaments. They get an easy game to round off with as they face Estonia who are bottom of Group C with just one point to show for their efforts. Read our Netherlands vs Estonia betting tips for more.

Netherlands vs Estonia Betting Odds*

Netherlands 1/33
Draw 16/1
Estonia 33/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 16th, 2019 at 10:24 p.m.)

Netherlands News and Form

The Dutch can take a nice deep breath of success and have no stress on their shoulders in this final group game. They secured qualification for the European Championship with a point away at Northern Ireland on the weekend. That was good enough for the Dutch as it means that the Irish cannot now overtake them. Defeat in that gamen and Northern Ireland did miss a penalty kick, and the Dutch would have been sweating a little bit.

The Netherlands are W2 L1 at home in this qualification campaign, the defeat happening against rivals Germany. The Dutch have tallied 19 goals in their 7 fixtures and have scored at least two goals in all three of their home fixtures. The Netherlands have scored at least two goals in each of their last six games played at home, competitive and friendly combined. The Netherlands have won only two of their last six European Championship home qualifiers (D1 L3).

Netherlands vs Estonia Head to Head

The Dutch are W4 D1 L0 in the head to head with Estonia
Estonia have failed to score in their two previous visits to the Netherlands
The Netherlands have scored at least two goals in all move previous games against Estonia
4 of the 5 previous meetings have ended over 3.5 goals

Estonia News and Form

A draw out on the road at Belarus is the only reward that Estonia have picked up in this campaign. It’s been tough going for them. They suffered a 1-0 loss in Ukraine on Thursday another game in which they failed to score. Estonia have netted just two goals in the qualification campaign, failing to score in five of their seven games played.

That’s how bad it has been. They have conceded at an average of exactly three goals per game as well. Estonia have taken a D1 L2 record on the road, failing to score in any of those fixtures. They are not likely going to remotely threaten the Netherlands in this one.

Netherlands vs Estonia Tips & Odds

Netherlands -3.75 Asian Handicap at 19/20
Over 4.5 goals at 11/10

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 16th, 2019 at 10:24 p.m.)

Who will win – Netherlands vs Estonia Predictions

The Netherlands can run up a few goals here and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they covered a four-goal handicap. They have looked good in the attack in this campaign and considering that Estonia did lose 8-0 in Germany, the Dutch should be among the goals against them as well.

Euro Betting

Northern Ireland vs Netherlands Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 16th November 7.45 pm

It is down to the wire now for Northern Ireland as they have to come up with three points in this one. Doing so would leave them level on points with the Netherlands with one game each left to play. Anything less than a win for Northern Ireland would likely see them eliminated on the night. Read our Northern Ireland vs Netherlands betting tips for more.

Draw 18/5
Netherlands 4/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 12th, 2019 at 1:18 p.m.)

Northern Ireland News and Form

Northern Ireland’s qualification hopes are not all in their own hands. They are three points behind both the Netherlands and Germany in the race for qualification. So not only are they going to have to go out and beat the Netherlands in this one, but then Northern Ireland would have to beat Germany in their final qualifier. Head coach Michael O’Neill is leaving his job to take over at Stoke. But he stays on until the end of the qualifiers.

The Irish are W4 L2 in their six matches, beating Belarus and Estonia in both respective meetings before falling to back to back losses against the Dutch and the Germans. Northern Ireland looked on course to cause a huge upset in winning in the Netherlands last time out, then looked set for a point with 10 minutes to go as the Netherlands levelled it up.

But the Dutch would go on to score twice in stoppage time to sink the Irish challenge. The defeats against the Netherlands and Germany were both by a two-goal margin. Northern Ireland were undefeated seven European Championship home qualifiers before dropping their game against Germany at Windsor Park in September.

Northern Ireland vs Netherlands Head to Head

The Netherlands earned a 3-1 home win in the first group meeting
The Dutch have won the last three meetings
Northern Ireland have scored in just one of the last three meetings
The last meeting in Belfast was in 1977 which the Irish lost 1-0

Netherlands News and Form

The Netherlands need one more win to get them to Euro 2020. They collected a narrow away win in Belarus in their last qualifier, taking them out to a four-match winning streak in the group. That started with a 4-2 away success in Germany, having lost at home against Die Mannschaft earlier in the campaign. So the Dutch are sat level with Germany on fifteen points from this campaign.

The goals have been flying around from the Dutch who are averaging just over three goals per qualifier. They have scored a total of ten goals in their three away qualifiers in this group. The Netherlands were on a six-match winless streak of away form (competitive and friendly) before the start of this qualification campaign. They have, however, won five of their last six European Championship away qualifiers (L1) and are on a four-match winning streak in such fixtures.

Northern Ireland vs Netherlands Tips & Odds

The Netherlands to win to nil at 11/10
Over 2.5 goals at 9/10

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 12th, 2019 at 1:18 p.m.)

Who will win – Northern Ireland vs Netherlands Predictions

This is such a tough situation for Northern Ireland. They have to go for broke but have two massive games to come. They can be buoyed by nearly getting themselves a draw in the Netherlands last time out. Can they stir themselves for a big night at Windsor Park? The attacking threat of the Dutch looks too good. Away win.

Belarus v Netherlands Euro 2020 Qualifiers Preview, 13th October 5.00pm

Belarus are out of the automatic qualification picture in Group C. Will this be a tricky road trip for the Dutch? Read our Belarus v Netherlands betting tips for more.

Belarus News and Form

With a W1 D1 L4 record, Belarus are not going to reach Euro 2020 through the automatic qualification route. They will have a chance through the playoffs though because they won their Nations League group. In their six games, they have only scored three goals. Their campaign started with a 4-0 loss in the Netherlands, but will they be able to frustrate the Dutch back in Minsk?

Belarus have only lost two of their last seven home fixtures (W2 D3). They are without a goal in their last four on home soil though. In the group, they have only suffered narrow home losses against Germany and Northern Ireland while playing out a 0-0 draw with Estonia.

Belarus v Netherlands Head to Head

The Netherlands have won the last three meetings
Belarus beat the Netherlands at home in Euro 2008 qualification
Both teams have scored in three of the last four meetings
Six of the last seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals

Netherlands News and Form

This isn’t about whether or not the Netherlands are going to suffer a shock upset. It’s whether they are going to break down Belarus on the night? The Dutch looked set for a 1-1 home draw against Northern Ireland on Thursday until they popped up with two goals in stoppage time to claim the win. That was their third win on the bounce, but they were far from convincing in that fixture, with Northern Ireland taking a deserved lead in the fixture.

The Netherlands are top of the group because of the head to head tiebreaker over Germany. They are on a W4 L1 record and hold the same record as Germany in goals scored and goals conceded. They aren’t in a position to drop points in a game which they should easily win. The Netherlands have won their last two road games, scoring 4 goals in each. But they were on a six-match winless streak of road form before that (D4 L2) granted against much tougher opposition than Belarus.

Belarus probably are not going to be able to stick out the full 90 minutes and keep the Dutch off the scoreboard. The Netherlands know that they have a job to do and aren’t likely to concede on their way to pick up three points.

If Northern Ireland could win this fixture, they would be in a great position to secure themselves qualification for Euro 2020. A draw out of it wouldn’t be a terrible result for them. Netherlands 1/7
Draw 13/2
Northern Ireland 16/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 9th, 2019 at 3:20 p.m.)

Netherlands News and Form

The Netherlands will move ahead of Northern Ireland on the tie-breaker if they collect three points in this one. It’s a huge home fixture for them. The Dutch are sat at W3 L1 in their four games so far in the group, the one-loss happening against Germany. But they showed some character to come back and beat the Germans in their second group meeting, putting four goals past Die Mannschaft.

The Netherlands have tallied 14 goals in four group games. That is twice as many as Northern Ireland have managed in five fixtures. The Dutch have scored exactly four goals in three of their four group games so far. The Netherlands are on a poor sequence of form in home European Championship qualifiers. They are only W1 D1 L3 in their last five such games on home soil. The one win there was against Belarus. If they win this, they are in the driving seat for qualification at the expense of Northern Ireland.

Netherlands v Northern Ireland Head to Head

Northern Ireland have only beaten the Netherlands once before
The Dutch have won the last two meetings
Northern Ireland have failed to score in three of their last four against the Netherlands
This is the first meeting since 2012, a friendly

Northern Ireland News and Form

The Irish have had a good campaign, winning all four of their games against Belarus and Estonia. But then came a stiffer challenge of meeting Germany for the first time in the group and the Irish fell to a 2-0 loss in Belfast. So a response in this one against the Dutch would be huge for Northern Ireland. A victory would leave them in a great position, a draw, not too bad off. They, have to get something out of their back-to-back fixtures against the Dutch or they will be done and dusted.

Northern Ireland have won five of their last six games (competitive and friendly) but as expected the goals don’t fly in from them frequently. The Irish are undefeated in their last four away European Championship qualifiers (W3 D1) and have lost just one of their last seven on the road in such fixtures. Northern Ireland have collected a clean sheet in just one of their last five European Championship qualifiers away from Windsor Park. It’s a big one, can they hang in there and avoid defeat against the free-scoring Dutch?

Netherlands v Northern Ireland Tips & Odds

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 9th, 2019 at 3:20 p.m.)

The Dutch are in pretty good shape at the moment and given Northern Ireland’s misfire against Germany in their last qualifier, that leans towards this being a difficult night away from home for the Irish. The Netherlands to win to nil.

Germany News and Form

After their World Cup 2018 and Nations League fixtures, Germany are on track to reach Euro 2020. They have won each of their three opening games of qualification, scoring thirteen goals in the process. Germany started their campaign with a 3-2 win in the Netherlands. That was a big statement from Die Mannschaft having taken just one point from their two games against the Dutch in the Nations League last year.

Germany are W4 D2 in their last six games (competitive and friendly). They are on a four match winning streak in European Championship qualifiers as well, having scored at least two goals in each of those four victories. If you dial into their home form in the European Championship qualifiers, then it makes for some impressive reading. They have won 11 of their last 13 home qualifiers (D2) and have suffered just one loss in such a fixtures since November 2016.

Germany v Netherlands Head to Head

Germany won 3-2 in the group’s first meeting
In last year’s Nations League the Dutch took four points against the Germans
Germany are W8 D11 L9 in the head to head against the Netherlands
Six of the last seven meetings have gone over 2.5 goals

Netherlands News and Form

The Netherlands are W1 L1 from their opening two games of qualification. They are playing catch up in fixtures because of their participation in the Nations League Finals, where they lost the final 1-0 to Portugal. It has been just a bit of patchy form creeping into their game recently. They are W2 D1 L2 in their last five played now. After failing to reach the World Cup 2018 that Nations League surprise group win was a huge lift for them.

They can’t afford to lose this game and have a nine point gap open between themselves and Germany as that would be a tremendous amount of ground for them to make up. The other problem for the Dutch in the group is Northern Ireland who won their opening four games. The Netherlands do though have a guaranteed place in the qualification play-offs if they can’t make the top two in Group C. That was their reward for topping their Nations League group.

Germany v Netherlands Tips & Odds

Germany will recognise the massive step towards qualification that they can take if they pick up three points at home against the Netherlands. * (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 6th, 2019 at 7:47 p.m.)

New Zealand News and Form

New Zealand have never had a taste of the knockout stages in the World Cup before. But they will likely be targeting a place as one of the best third-placed teams this time around. It is their opening opponents the Netherlands, along with Canada who are the teams who are expected to take the automatic qualification spots. New Zealand did give themselves a good lift in taking a 1-0 win over England as part of their warm-up matches at the start of the month.

They are W4 D3 in their last seven games. They took part at the Cup of Nations back in March and opened with a loss against Australia, beat Argentina and then lost against South Korea. At the end of the day, it is going to be hard for the Football Ferns to make a big impact in front of goal. Their stronger players definitely look as if they are all from the defensive department really. If they could grab a point off either the Netherlands or Canada, while beating Cameroon, they could have a chance of reaching those knockouts.

Netherlands News and Form

The pressure of success can be a tough thing to deal with. The Netherlands sprung a huge surprise two summers ago in winning the European Championships. That was totally out of nowhere, but it was some star showings from Lieke Martens and Vivivanne Miedema which helped carry them to success. Those are both World Class players and Miedema is a pretty decent option in the top goalscorer department for the tournaments and potentially to be in the mix for the player of the tournament.

The thing is, after their Euro success, there have been a few struggles since. They needed a playoff against Switzerland to make it to the World Cup this summer. That was after at telling away defeat in Norway and a home draw against Ireland. They only went D1 L2 at the Algarve Cup this year, losing to Spain and Poland there before beating China on a penalty shootout. They have looked a bit more settled since their with three straight friendly wins, the most notable one of those was a 3-0 access over Australia. They have a talented young squad, it’s now about handling the pressure.

Portugal News and Form

Cristiano Ronaldo turned on the style in their semi-final fixture against Switzerland. It was his hat trick which fired through by a 3-1 scoreline. Their star man is back and he is bang on form it would seem. He is at 5/6 in the anytime goalscorer market* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on June 7th, 2019 at 10:44 p.m.). Naturally, he is still their star attraction, but Portugal reached the semi-finals of the Nations League without him.

But still, he scored more goals in that game against Switzerland than Portugal had managed in their four previous fixtures (2). Portugal are now undefeated in their last nine games now, Portugal won four of those. They were on a four-match sequence of drawn games before their 3-1 success over the Swiss. Portugal have taken just the two clean sheets in their last seven games played though. They are likely to come under pressure from the Dutch at the back, as the Swiss did have them rattled at times.

Portugal v Netherlands Head to Head

Netherlands beat Portugal 3-0 in a 2018 friendly
Portugal lead the overall head to head 7-2 with four draws
Both teams have scored in five of the last seven meetings
Portugal won the last competitive meeting which was at Euro 2012

Netherlands News and Form

The Netherlands put on a good show in their semi-final fixture against England. They dominated for most of the match, but they were taken to extra time. England had taken the lead against the run of play from the penalty spot, but couldn’t hold out. It was some awful England defending that gifted the Netherlands their other two goals in a 3-1 extra time victory. But the Dutch looked head and shoulders above England on the day, playing some slick football with midfielder Frenkie de Jong putting in a star showing.

The Netherlands topped out their Nations League group ahead of Germany and France, which was an unexpected turn up for the books. They are W4 D3 L2 in their last nine games (90 minutes) now and they do look as if they are struggling a bit at the back. That is despite the partnership of Virgil van Dijk and Mathias de Ligt. The Dutch have two clean sheets in their last six games. If you count their extra time against England, each of their last four games have produced over 3.5 goals. Hopefully, the Final goes the same way.

This is a little too close to call. Portugal, with Cristiano Ronaldo though, will likely have the edge in attack as that is one area in which the Dutch are lacking a world-class option. Netherlands News and Form

What a trajectory the Netherlands have been on then. They bombed in their World Cup 2018 qualification campaign, missing out on the finals. But that looks to have been the big shakeup that they needed. Ronald Koeman is in charge and is taking the nation in the right direction with some impressive form. They did win their three final games of World Cup 2018 qualifcation and they have lost just three of their last seventeen games played.

That run is across competitive and friendly games. They were up against France and Germany in their UEFA Nations League group and they just went for broke, playing some really competitive, bold attacking football. They were a joy to watch and it was their home form that really did it. They bagged a 2-0 home win over France and a 3-0 win over Germany on home soil. They ended up beating France on head to head goal difference in the end after 2-2 draw in the final match in Germany.

The Dutch are W3 D1 L2 in their last six competitive games. The defeats were against France in the Nations League and then against Germany at the start of their European Championships qualification campaign at the end of March. The Dutch have scored at least two goals in four of their last five games played and in each of their last four played. They have taken three clean sheets in their last six.

Netherlands v England Head to Head

England won the most recent meeting 1-0, a 2018 friendly
This is the first competitive meetings since Euro ‘96
The Netherlands have lost just one of their last eight against England
Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings

England News and Form

England managed some big results in their group stage campaign in the Nations League. They had actually started with a home loss against Spain and followed it up with a 0-0 draw in Croatia behind closed doors. But then their big moment came with a 3-2 win in Spain, thanks to a blistering first half in which they scored all of their goals, Raheem Sterling getting a brace. Sterling is at 5/2 in the anytime goalscorer market* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 29th, 2019 at 8:00 am).

In their final group game, they were trailing Croatia 1-0 at Wembley but then two goals in the final twelve minutes from Jesse Lingard and Harry Kane turned the game on its head and sent England top of the group by a point over Spain. England are currently on a five-match winning streak at the moment, across competitive and friendly games combined. It is a four-match winning streak that the Three Lions are on in competitive fixtures.

England fired off a 5-0 win over the Czech Republic and a 5-1 win over Mcgregor in March to kick off their European Championship qualification campaign. That means that the Three Lions have scored at least three goals in four of their last five games played. They have scored at least two goals in each of those five. So it’s been good stuff from them. This is a huge chance for boss Gareth Southgate to take them on even further after their great run to the semi-finals in last year’s World Cup.

Netherlands v Germany Preview

On Thursday night the Netherlands played host to Belarus in their opening Euro 2020 qualification fixture and produced a 4-0 success. This game against Germany will be the toughest home game that they get in their qualification campaign. If they make it two wins from two to start, that would put them well on the path to booking a spot in next summer’s competition. Back in the Nations League campaign last year, the Netherlands topped their group ahead of France and Germany.

They are currently undefeated in their last four fixtures which saw them take home wins over Germany and France, while picking up draws away at Belgium and Germany. The Netherlands have only lost one of their last nine international fixtures, winning four of those. They are currently on a three-match winning streak at home, scoring at least two goals in each of those games. The last six meetings between the two rivals have ended up over 2.5 goals.

Germany are still on the hunt for some much-improved form and consistency. They had a disaster at the 2018 World Cup as they bowed out in the group stage. Then on top of that towards the end of last year, they were relegated from their UEFA Nations League group. During that Nations League campaign, they lost both of their away games against France and Netherlands.

In their last eight games, Germany have only managed to pick up the two victories. They warmed up for their Euro 2020 qualification campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Serbia. Germany were nowhere near at full strength in that game though. They have been struggling at the back with only two clean sheets in their last 14 international fixtures. Without counting their games at the 2018 World Cup, Germany are on a three-match losing streak away from home. Can they pull themselves together in Amsterdam? Germany have failed to score in their last two visits there.

Who will win – Netherlands v Germany Predictions

The Netherlands look the clear better of the two at the moment and they have every chance of making it six points from six at the start of their Euro 2020 qualification campaign. All 55 nations will go through the qualification process with the top two from each of the ten groups booking an automatic spot at the Finals. That leaves four spots up for grabs. Those will be filled through a play-off format for teams qualifying through the back door of the Nations League.

A team winning a Nations League Group (Scotland for example) automatically earn a place in the playoffs, if they don’t happen to qualify automatically from their Euro 2020 Qualification Group. There is one separate playoff tournament (consisting of four teams each) for each of the four leagues from the Nations League. The mini-playoff tournaments will produce the last four Euro 2020 finalists.

The other influence that the Nations League had was for each of the four group winners from League A. Those winners, Switzerland Portugal, Netherlands and England (who will be appearing in the 2019 Nations League Finals), started the Euro 2020 qualification draw in a separate pot. That means that each of them go in a qualification group consisting of five teams. The other six qualification groups all house six teams each. That’s to ensure that the dates stay free so the four of them can play the Nations League Finals. It’s basically to save those four nations from extra workload.

Group A

England 1/6
Czech Republic 6/1
Montenegro 12/1
Bulgaria 16/1
Kosovo 25/1

England go in a group of five then and they are 1/6 favourites to claim the win in this group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm). It’s not too hard to see why really. There is really little to oppose them going forward. The Three Lions should be strong enough from their home performances alone to get the job completed. After their run to the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup this is still about development and progress for Gareth Southgate’s men. They are generally more than reliable enough in major tournament qualifying to back. It looks like a straight duel between Montenegro and the Czech Republic for the second spot. Both finished third in their respective World Cup 2018 qualifying groups and in the Nations League, they both managed to retain their respective statuses in League 2 and League 3 respectively.

Group B

Portugal 4/6
Serbia 5/2
Ukraine 4/1
Lithuania 66/1
Luxembourg 250/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

It is of course highly unlikely that Lithuania or Luxembourg are going to be anywhere near the top two at the end of this group. Aside from that, there are three teams going to be trying to squeeze into two slots. Portugal are the outright favourites at 4/6 to win the group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm) but Serbia and Ukraine are threats here. Ukraine particularly had a strong nations league while Serbia moved up a tier in winning their group. Serbia won their World Cup 2018 qualification group over Ireland, Wales and Austria. This is going to be tough, but Portugal should have the quality to top out the group, but the other two will make it very interesting.

Group C

Germany 4/9
Netherlands 13/8
Northern Ireland 33/1
Belarus 100/1
Estonia 200/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

Old rivals Netherlands and Germany will get to meet each other again, just as they did in the Nations League recently. It was the Dutch who came out on top in that particular scrap as they took a very good four points off the Germans on their way to winning the group. Germany have been in a bit of a decline after such a poor 2018 World Cup too. Still, it is Dutch are who are 13/8 second favourites to win this group* (betting odds taken from Betfred on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm) behind the Germans despite all that. There’s a tough battle then for Northern Ireland ahead to try and muscle their way through.

Group D

Switzerland even money
Denmark 6/5
Ireland 11/2
Georgia 200/1
Gibraltar 1000/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

Straight off the bat, it is a three-way battle for the top two spots in this group. Of the three it is Ireland who are the least likely to get automatic qualification here. They have been having a tough time of things and while they will have a new manager for this qualification process, there appears to be a long way back for them after suffering relegation in the Nations League. It’s actually tough to split Switzerland and Denmark here in the race for top spot. We would probably just shade the extra strengths and depth of the Swiss. They should have extra confidence being a Nations League finalist.

Group E

Croatia 4/9
Wales 3/1
Slovakia 8/1
Hungary 20/1
Azerbaijan 66/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

The Welsh won’t be too unhappy with what is in front of them in Euro 2020 qualification. While there are always tricky away games in Europe to deal with, in this case, Hungary and Slovakia. However, the Dragons should be competitive enough to get into the picture for the top two here. Croatia, the 2018 World Cup runners-up are the 4/9 favourites to clinch the group* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm). It’s hard to see any of the others really doing enough to prevent them from doing so at the end of the day.

Group F

Spain 2/9
Sweden 13/2
Romania 11/1
Norway 12/1
Faroe Islands 50/1
Malta 1000/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

This looks on paper at least, to be a pretty straightforward affair to predict. Spain are the red-hot odds-on favourites to claim the top spot. Realistically only Sweden are going to be strong enough to mount any kind of threat against them, but even with that said it’s hard to see them doing enough to stop Spain topping the pile. Frankly, Norway, Romania and Sweden all look as if they are capable of taking points off of each other here. But the Swedes are the ones who look the most likely to book themselves a top two finish.

Group G

Poland 11/10
Austria 6/5
Slovenia 11/1
Israel 14/1
Macedonia 50/1
Latvia 100/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

You can chop the bottom three in the Group G winner market out of the equation. When while Slovenia are likely to be a difficult side to beat on home soil, they don’t look a big enough of a threat to go and steal a top two place from either Poland or Austria. So if it boils down to a contest between those two for top spot who gets it? Frankly, because Poland were surprisingly poor in the Nations League it may be worth opposing them in favour of Austria at 6/5 odds* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 8:11 pm)

Group H

France 1/6
Turkey 13/2
Iceland 10/1
Albania 50/1
Moldova 100/1
Andorra 1000/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

It would surprise absolutely no one if France go out and win this group. That looks a pretty dead-cert if ever there was one. But what about behind them in the race for the second spot? Iceland have had a really tough year and the side that you saw at Euro 2016 and which qualified for the 2018 World Cup has fallen apart. Turkey are so unpredictable of a side though it’s hard to throw a lot of confidence at either of them. Just because Turkey have better depth available to them and will be difficult opponents on home soil, they should join France in the top two.

Group I

Belgium 2/9
Russia 7/2
Scotland 14/1
Cyprus 80/1
Kazakhstan 150/1
San Marino 500/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

What a difficult group this is going to be for the Scottish. They managed to win their Nations League group so even if they don’t get in the top two here they will have a Euro 2020 playoff spot. That is because of their Nations League performance. That may turn out to be a blessing for them. Belgium should storm away with the group win in his one and even though Russia aren’t much more than average, they should produce enough to lock down a top-two finish.

Group J

Italy 1/3
Bosnia 4/1
Greece 9/1
Finland 16/1
Armenia 100/1
Liechtenstein 200/1
* (betting odds taken from Coral on December 11th, 2018 at 10:52 pm)

Italy are still rebuilding, looking at their youth and a whole new system under Roberto Mancini. We saw glimpses of better things from them at the Nations League and while they aren’t a major force at the moment, this is an easy group for them to win. Bosnia won their Nations League group and could throw down a bit of a challenge. Either way, the top two should be between those two. There aren’t enough goals among the other group occupants to expect anyone else to come through and upset the apple cart. As with most of the Euro 2020 qualification groups, it looks pretty predictable.
