Marseille are knocking on the door of the top four in Ligue 1 but they have just lost a little bit of momentum. They will be hoping to get it back as they face the relegation-threatened Monaco on Sunday. Monaco have grabbed Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea in the hopes of putting together a stronger second half of the season. Thierry Henry’s men are in trouble. Who will win – Marseille v Monaco Predictions

Cesc Fabregas single-handedly isn’t going to change the fortunes of Monaco. They have looked really poor. Marseille are a strong home side and we have to really eye up the home win to nil as a serious proposition.

UEFA Champions League Betting

Monaco v Atletico Madrid Prediction & Betting Tips – 18th September 2018

Atletico Madrid made some good signings over the summer but things haven’t quite fallen into place for them so far, not on the domestic front anyway. So it will be interesting to see how the Spaniards start their European campaign. They head out on the road to face a Monaco side who have a pretty rough start to their domestic campaign in the French top flight. Read our Monaco v Atletico Madrid betting tips for more.

Monaco v Atletico Madrid Betting Odds*

Atletico Madrid 5/6
Draw 12/5
Monaco 7/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 15th, 2018 at 11:35 p.m.)

Monaco News and Form

Monaco got absolutely nowhere in Europe last season failing to win a game in the Champions League group stage, collecting just the two points. They conceded a total of sixteen goals in their six games and it was in one of the easier groups as well as they were up against Besiktas, Porto and RB Leipzig. So they are in something of a decline and their form this season hasn’t been great so far. After a 1-1 draw at Toulouse on the weekend, it leaves Monaco with just a W1 D2 L3 record for the season in all competitions now. They have just the one clean sheet in that sequence.

First, up for our Monaco v Atletico Madrid betting tips we are going to back the option of both teams NOT to score at 3/4 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from September 15th, 2018 at 11:35 p.m.). The French side look there for the taking at the moment, to be honest, and they could struggle for momentum against a tough Madrid side. If you are looking at them to find a route to goal then Youri Tielemans may be worth a look as he has one in each of his last two games. They are looking less and less of a threat since their run to the 2016/17 semi-finals. They hare just D2 L6 in their last eight European games.

Atletico Madrid News and Form

Something was badly off with Atletico Madrid last season in the Champions League as they failed to get out of their group, finishing third behind Chelsea and Roma. They just lacked that competitive edge going forward and ended up with only a W1 D4 L1 record. Over the summer they made some great signings to bolster their squad. It is a very good looking squad as well and yet they have been struggling for results. After a 1-1 home draw with Eibar on the weekend in La Liga, it has left Atletico Madrid at W1 D3 L1 for the season.

So things are not clicking and under 2.5 goals is at 4/6 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from September 15th, 2018 at 11:35 p.m.). Atletico Madrid are actually winless in five European away games now, drawing four of those. They have also failed to score in three of their last four European fixtures on the road. But just on the surface of things they still look much better than Monaco actually do. In the correct score market for our Monaco v Atletico Madrid betting tips an Atletico 1-0 is at 5/1 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from September 15th, 2018 at 11:35 p.m.).

Monaco v Atletico Madrid Head to Head

The two sides have never met before.

Who will win – Monaco v Atletico Madrid Predictions

This tie is made interesting because neither are producing good form at the moment. But it is the Spaniards who have the better of the two squads and that’s pretty evident. Because of that, we have to back the away win in the match outright for our Monaco v Atletico Madrid betting tips

European Football Betting

PSG v Monaco French Super Cup Preview, 4th August 1.00pm

The first big domestic clash of the new European season happens on Saturday when PSG and Monaco go head to head in the French Super Cup. This is the annual match between the Ligue 1 winner and the Coupe de France winners. PSG won both of those titles last season so it is Monaco who gets to face them after finishing as runners-up in the French top flight.

PSG v Monaco Betting Odds*

PSG 4/6
Draw 13/5
Monaco 16/5
* (Betting Odds were taken on July 28th, 2018 at 11:17 p.m.)

PSG News and Form

PSG took part in the International Champions Cup, a series of high profile friendly matches. But they sent out a pretty youthful squad, giving as much time as possible for their World Cup stars like Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to rest up after a busy twelve months. You can’t read anything from those friendly matches that they have played of course. This year’s Trophée des Champions is being played out in Shenzhen, China and is a repeat of last year’s clash which PSG won 2-1 thanks to goals from Dani Alves and Rabiot.

PSG won the Ligue 1 title by a margin of 13 points over Monaco, scoring 108 goals in their 38 games and they are favourites to go and win it outright again this season. It is worth waiting to see what kind of side new manager Thomas Tuchel puts out for them, but you imagine more of their star players will be back in action. Right off the bat, we have to look at over 2.5 goals at 1/2 odds with bet365* (Betting Odds were taken on July 28th, 2018 at 11:17 p.m.) for the game. PSG are the second most successful side in the history of the French Super Cup having won it seven times, and will pull level with Lyon if they win again this year. PSG have won the last five editions on the bounce.

Monaco News and Form

Monaco are four-time winners of this Super Cup but they haven’t gotten their hands on it since 2000. They were in last season’s final but were downed by PSG and it is going to be hard for them topple the Parisians again. Monaco took some heavy losses against PSG last season and don’t have winning form against them all. Monaco are now on a seven-match winless streak against PSG losing all but one of those.

We are going to take a pot shot both teams to score at 1/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken on July 28th, 2018 at 11:17 p.m.) because that did happen in three of the four meetings between the two sides last season. Monaco have had a busy month in terms of transfers but it has mostly been moves for youth and squad depth. They have seen some big players leave like there was last season with the likes of Fainho, Thomas Lemar and Joao Moutinho having departed.

PSG v Monaco Head to Head

The overall head to head between the two sides stands in favour of Monaco at 13-7 with 14 drawn matches. However, it is PSG who have been on top recently as they have posted a W6 D1 record over Monaco in their last seven meetings, winning each of the last six. PSG have scored at least two goals in each of their last six games against them and tallied fourteen in four matches against Monaco last season.

Who will win – PSG v Monaco Predictions

We have to go with PSG just because they have the extra quality and depth in their squad, hands down. They will be tempted to throw out a fairly strong side here as their league season doesn’t start until the following Sunday. We can’t see Monaco living up to their standards at the end of the day.

Monaco v PSG Prediction & Betting Tips – 26th November 2017

Betting Advice

Monaco v PSG Ligue 1, 26th November 8.00pm

A top two battle will be going down in the Principality of Monaco on Saturday night in this huge clash. Not too surprisingly, it is PSG leading the way at the top of the French League as they have yet to be beaten so far this term. Monaco, despite a heavy summer of selling, are their closest challengers but are already six points adrift of the leaders. They badly need this home win to keep in touch. PSG are 8/15 to win with bet365, with the draw trading at 15/4 and Monaco at 9/2.

Monaco v PSG Betting Tips

Monaco have managed to just about stay in touch with league leaders PSG this season which is surprising considering the number of sales and loan deals over the summer which saw them lose top talent like Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kylian Mbappe. To their credit they have pieced things together pretty well since then but you get the feeling that this is not a game which they can afford to lose as they are trailing PSG by six points already. Monaco have gone W9 D2 L2 this season in the French top flight and they are unbeaten on home soil with a W5 D1 record. They have beaten Marseille and Caen there, two of the current top six sides this season so they have been pretty reliable throughout. They have been potent in front of goal as well with 21 goals having been returned at an average of 3.5 goals per game. They have conceded just the four but three of those have been in the second half of matches.

Over 2.5 goal sat bet365 is a price of 4/11 and that’s because four of the last five meetings have ended that way. They have already met this season in the French Super Cup with PSG taking a 2-1 victory back in July. Monaco did win this corresponding league fixture last season though, pounding out a 3-1 victory over the Parisians. In the anytime goalscorer market for the home side, Falcao is an 11/10 option for them with Stevan Jovetic at 9/4. Monaco have scored in both halves in 83% of their home fixtures this term. Defensively they haven’t been as solid as PSG have been this season and both teams to score in this one looks pretty likely at a price of 1/2. Monaco will be looking to snap a four match winless streak that they are on against PSG in all competitions now, losing each of their last three against them.

PSG are rolling along at the top of the table, unbeaten for the season and having dropped just the four points in a couple of drawn matches. Both of those draws did happen out on the road as they failed to get the better of Montpellier and Marseille. They have goals in them of course and they have netted twelve in their last three league games and rattled off seven against Celtic in the Champions League in midweek. Edinson Cavani has been in terrific goalscorer form with fifteen league goals already this season and he is the 5/2 bet365 first goalscorer favourite. Neymar, who has seven league goals for his new club is a 4/5 anytime goalscorer option. PSG have averaged 2.8 goals per away game in the top flight this season and 50% of their road games have gone over 2.5 goals. 71% of the goals that they have scored this season on their travels have come in the second half of matches.

Who will win – Monaco v PSG Predictions

PSG have to take the money in this one just because of their attack and they are the stronger of the two at the back as well. Monaco’s shortcoming this season have been because they haven’t quite filled all the gaps of their summer sales. PSG can take advantage and bank a big three road points.

Betting Advice

Monaco v PSG French Super Cup, 29th July 8.00pm

The French top flight gets into action a week before the English Premier League and because of that, this weekend there is a big Monaco v PSG clash in the French Super Cup. This is a heavyweight showdown between last season’s league winners Monaco and PSG who collected the Coupe de France at the expense of Monaco. So this is a cracking curtain raiser to the new season across the Channel and PSG are 4/6 odds on to win the game with the draw at 3/1 and Monaco at 15/4.

One of the top football betting products around is Bet365’s 0-0 Bore Draw Insurance which they offer on all matches listed in their sportsbook. Monaco v PSG French Super Cup Betting Tips

Monaco have had a busy summer in the transfer market. They have managed to hold on to Kylian Mbappe but they have sold off Bernardo Silva, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy, Valere Germain, Nabil Dirar and Abdou Diallo. So there will be changes for them, but they are a side who do recruit young players very well. Going back to Mbappe who was such a hit for them last season, he is a price of 9/4 in the anytime goalscorer market for this one. Radamel Falcao is a 13/8 punt to get on the scoresheet in the Super Cup. These two met four times last season and it was PSG who edged things over Monaco with a W2 D1 L1 record from those four games across all competitions. During the preseason Monaco haven’t looked terribly great and in their final warm up match, they lost against Sporting Lisbon.

Both teams to score at bet365 in this one is a price of 8/13. Three of the four meetings last season saw both teams score in the match. There should be goals flying around in this one you would imagine and you have a short 8/11 price on the game going over 2.5 goals. Boss Leonardo Jardim may need a little time to piece his side back together over the summer and their back line hasn’t looked particularly good in pre-season. But then again, neither have PSG’s who has shipped eight goals in their last three pre-season friendly games. They were out at the International Champions Cup in the USA, where they drew with Roma and then lost against Spurs and Juventus. That’s eight goals they shipped in those three games.

PSG have stacks of quality going forward though, but there’s no Neymar and there isn’t likely to be either. Edinson Cavani is a 2/3 outright favourite in the anytime goalscorer market with the impressive Julian Draxler at 13/8. Looking back to last season, in April they hammered Monaco 4-1 in the final of the French League Cup and they turned around a few weeks later to smash them 5-0 in the French Cup as well. So they really turned it on, but they just couldn’t overhaul Monaco in the league title race. PSG are 1/2 at bet365 to Lift The Trophy with Monaco at 6/4. Over the last five meetings, both have won two games and drawn one.

Who will win – Monaco v PSG French Super Cup Predictions

PSG to win: Monaco were happy enough to sell off during the summer and therefore it may take them a bit to get settled with their new look side. PSG have had some good action out at the International Champions Cup and should be the little bit sharper for that. PSG to win but both teams to score in the fixture.

Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Prediction & Betting Tips – 14th May 2017

Betting Advice

Monaco v Lille Ligue 1, 14th May 8.00pm

Monaco have a chance to quickly put the disappointment of their Champions League semi-final loss to Juventus behind them. They need just the three points in this one to be crowned French champions. So this is a big chance on home soil for them and they take on a Lille side who have lost three of their last five league outings. Monaco are 1/6 for the win, with the draw at 13/2 and Lille are 12/1.

One of the top football betting products around is Bet365’s 0-0 Bore Draw Insurance which they offer on all matches listed in their sportsbook. Place a pre-match correct score, scorecast or half-time/full-time wager on a match and if the game ends goalless then the bookmaker will refund lost stakes on the selected markets with a free bet. Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Betting Tips

Here’s the situation for Monaco. They win this game and they will be crowned champions. If PSG wins their game on the weekend as well, mathematically Monaco would not be champions, but they would have a six-point advantage over second-placed PSG with a game in hand plus a massive goal difference advantage. Monaco have produced a fantastic W15 D1 L1 record at home this season in Ligue 1. Home or away they have not lost a game since a defeat against Lyon back on December 18th last year, putting up a W15 D2 record since then. They are running on a nine-match winning streak at the moment in the French top flight. Immense stuff it has been from them and they should close out the deal here. They go into this game 43 points ahead of mid-table Lille and they have already beat them twice this season too, once in the league and once in the French Cup. Both teams to score at bet365 is a value punt at 4/5 as both teams have scored in each of the last three meetings between these two.

In the bet365 correct score market, a Monaco 2-1 win is a good price of 9/1. Monaco need just two goals to reach 100 for the season in the league and Falcao is up at a price of 2/5 in the anytime goalscorer market with Kylian Mbappe, who is a doubt for this one, at 8/11. They are such a good, positive young side that there shouldn’t be any slip up in this one. Lille have won just the six away games this season in a W6 D4 L8 record, but they have won three of their last four away from home (L1). They have managed only just over one goal per game this season though (37 goals in 36 matches) so aren’t a tremendous threat going forward. They are patchy at best and they have taken just the one victory in their nine matches so far against the current top five in Ligue 1 so haven’t carried themselves off well against the better opposition. Nicolas De Preville is a 4/1 anytime goalscorer option for them and he has three goals in his last three games.

Who will win – Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Predictions

Monaco home win: Monaco can shake off that midweek disappointment by firing themselves towards the league title here. It’s unlikely that the visitors are going to turn up and ruin their party at all.

UEFA Champions League Betting

Juventus v Monaco UEFA Champions League, 11th May 7.45pm

Juventus march on confidently towards the final of the UEFA Champions League this season. They hold a 2-0 advantage as they return to Turin to finish off the challenge of Monaco. This is going to be a tough ask for Monaco now as Juve have remained unbeaten at the Juventus Stadium all season and the French club have failed to make an impact against the Italians on home soil. Juventus are 8/13 for the win, with the draw at 11/4 and Monaco at 9/2.

Juventus v Monaco Betting Tips

You would imagine that this will be routine for Juventus from here on out. A brace from Gonzalo Higuain in the first leg in France has put the Italians in such a strong position. The good news for the Italians and the bad news for Monaco is that no team has ever overturned a 2-0 first-leg home defeat in the Champions League knockout stages in 14 previous attempts. The only previous time that these two met in the Champions League semi-final was 19 years ago when Juventus won the tie 6-4 on aggregate. They are well in the driving seat at the moment in this one. They are on a huge stretch of fantastic home form, unbeaten in their 18 Champions League home games (W11 D7) so it would take something special from the visitors to topple them. Juventus hold a W8 L3 record from European Cup semi-final ties.

The Old Lady have not conceded a goal in the last 621 minutes of UEFA Champions League action now, which is six consecutive clean sheets. Juventus to win to nil at Bet356 is going to have some appeal then at a price of 7/4. Gonzalo Higuain, who was the hero a week ago, is trading at a price of 5/6 in the anytime goalscorer market. His two goals in the first leg, as many as in his 24 previous Champions League knockout games. Juve have won all 11 two-legged ties against French sides, including against Monaco in both the 1997/98 UEFA Champions League semi-finals and the 2014/15 quarter-finals. Also, Juventus have won the home leg in all but two of their 11 European Cup semi-finals (W9 L2) and they are currently running on a seven match unbeaten streak against French sides and since a loss at Bordeaux in the 2009/10 group stage, they have gone W5 D2 at home against Ligue 1 opponents.

Can Monaco make a game of this at least? No French team has ever beaten Juventus in Turin in European competition (D3 L11). So the stats are heavily against Monaco in this one. This is their fourth appearance in the Champions League semi finals but is their campaign this time going to end? Monaco have actually won just two of 11 away games in the Champions League knockout stages (D2 L7) and from those eleven games have never taken a clean sheet. Actually, Monaco have shipped 10 goals in their last three away games and 18 overall (home and away) in the Champions League this season, more than any other team among the remaining semi-finalists. Monaco have never won away in the European Cup semi-finals (D1 L2). They have scored in 13 of 15 European games this season and both teams to score at Bet365 is a quote of 4/5. Radamel Falcao is a quote of 2/1 in the anytime goalscorer market. They hold a D1 L6 record from seven previous visits to Italy and their record in two-legged ties against Serie A opponents is W1 L5.

Who will win – Juventus v Monaco Predictions

Juventus home win: The Old Lady are going to take some stopping and with Monaco having to press a little bit to get into the tie, that should just create chances for Juve to pick them off. Well worth backing the home side to win to nil.

UEFA Champions League Betting

Monaco v Juventus UEFA Champions League, 3rd May 7.45pm

Juventus will be looking to land themselves a first leg advantage in this one, but Monaco have been in brilliant form in the Champions League this season, producing a lot of goals. Will Juve be able to produce the kind of defensive display that saw them shut out Barcelona over two legs in the last round? This should be a fascinating showdown out in the principality, with Monaco having won all but one of their seven European home games this season. Juventus are 13/10 to take a first leg win, with Monaco at 2/1 and the draw at 12/5.

Monaco v Juventus Betting Tips

A fascinating tie here. Can Monaco pull off an underdog story once again and make it through to the final? They have had an epic run in the knockout stage, drawing 6-6 on aggregate (winning on away goals) against Man City in the round of sixteen, before beating Borussia Dortmund 6-3 on aggregate in the quarter-finals. They are going to be a massive threat to the Italians in this one. There’s not a great deal of history between these two, but Monaco have lost twice to the Old Lady in the UEFA Champions League and one of those were a semi-final defeat in the 1997/98 season (Juventus winning 6-4 on aggregate). Their most recent meeting was in the 2014/15 quarter-finals, which Juventus won 1-0 on aggregate. Will there be goals in this one? It’s hard to say, Monaco have proven they have scoring power, but they are taking on an immense defensive juggernaut in Juventus. Under 2.5 goals at Bet365 on the game is a price of 4/5, while over is an even money quote.

Monaco have won 71% of their home games in the Champions League (22 out of 31) and of all teams to have hosted at least 30 games in the competition, only Real Madrid (76.5%), Barcelona (72.1%) & Bayern Munich (71.3%) have a better win ratio on home soil than the French club do. Monaco have netted three goals exactly in each of their four Champions league knockout stage games this season but in the Bet365 correct score market, the 1-1 draw is the shortest priced option at a price of 11/2. In the Bet365 anytime goalscorer market, for Monaco, there is Falcao at 3/2 and the highly impressive Kylian Mbappe at 2/1. The French club needs to get something on the board here as they have never won on the road in the European Cup semi-finals (D1 L2). They have won six of their seven home games in this season’s campaign, totalling sixteen goals and they have scored in all but one of their 14 Champions League games this season. They hold a W3 D1 L2 record at home against Italian opponents and their record in two-legged ties against Serie A opposition is W1 L5.

Juventus were so highly impressive against Barcelona in the last round, taking clean sheets in both legs of their tie against the Spaniards. Juventus to win to nil in the first leg is a big 10/3 price though. After failing to reach the last four of the Champions League from 2003/04 to 2013/14, Juventus have now made the semis for the second time in three seasons (after 2014/15) and they also not have themselves another Serie A title as well this season. They are a major force and they have reached the final in five of their six previous Champions League semi-finals. Going back to their most recent semi-final appearance, they beat Real Madrid 3-2 on aggregate in the 2014/15 season. Juventus, along with Real Madrid are the only unbeaten teams in this season’s competition (W7 D3) and you have to pay attention to that defence of theirs. They have not conceded now for 531 minutes of Champions League action.

So you have their immense defence going up against the powerful scoring force that Monaco are. Which will win out? Juventus have conceded just two goals in the competition this season and neither were from open play. They have yet to concede in the knockout stages so far. In contrast, Monaco have conceded 16 goals, more than any of the other three semi-finalists have. Both teams to score at Bet365 is a price of 7/10. Juve’s away record in European Cup semi-finals is W1 D4 L6 and if they draw this they will strong favourites back in Turin because the Old Lady has won the home leg in all but two of their 11 European Cup semi-finals (W9 L2). On the road in this season’s Champions League, Juventus have gone W4 D1 in their five games and in the anytime goalscorer market for them, Gonzalo Higuain is an 11/8 option with Paulo Dybala at 15/8. Dybala has scored four goals in five Champions League knockout games.

Who will win – Monaco v Juventus Predictions

Draw: You would imagine that the Old Lady wouldn’t be unhappy with a draw in this first leg, particularly a score draw. They are going to be hard to beat back on home soil and can stick around there in this first leg.

PSG v Monaco French Cup Prediction & Betting Tips – 26th April 2017

Betting Advice

PSG v Monaco French Cup, 26th April 8.05pm

It is gloves off in the French Cup in midweek for this semi-final clash. The two are also duelling it out at the top of Ligue 1 as well and so for both this represents the chance of keeping the dream of a double alive for the season. With the way that Monaco have been going this season, this should be a cracking semi-final. PSG are 4/9 for the win, with the draw at 10/3 and Monaco at 13/2.

PSG v Monaco Betting Tips

This is a clash between two sides carrying some big form at the moment. They are duelling it out at the top of Ligue 1 where they are level on points, but Monaco just has the advantage of a game in hand and a better goal difference over PSG. Things are probably going to be tight in this one in terms of it being a hard match to call. They have met three times already this season, Monaco taking four points away from the two league meetings and then PSG put a big 4-1 win on the board in a French League Cup meeting. PSG have won just one of the last four against Monaco now in all competitions (W1 D1 L2) so are a bit behind in the head to head. PSG have won just one of their last nine home games in all competitions against Monaco W1 D6 L2. But in current form, PSG have won their last eight games on the bounce and they have taken a clean sheet in four of their last five. Under 2.5 goals at Betfair is a price of 17/10. In the anytime goalscorer market, PSG’s Edinson Cavani is 4/9 outright favourite, with Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler at 13/10.

Monaco’s Radamel Falcao is a 7/4 option to net in this one and both teams to score at Betfair is a price of 4/6. Monaco have impressively fought their way through to the Champions League semi-finals and are really running on high at the moment. They have won their last six games in all competitions now and have gone W10 L1 in their last eleven played across all competitions, losing just one of their last thirteen played. So they are carrying big form and the six goals they put past Man City in the Champions League and then the six they put past Borussia Dortmund in the following round says a lot about them. However, you worry more about the defence of Monaco than you do about PSG and Monaco have just the one clean sheet in their last seven played. There was also that heavy League Cup Final defence against PSG at the start of April. Getting enough out of this visit could be tough and Monaco are 3/1 To Qualify with PSG in at 2/9 which says a lot.

Who will win – PSG v Monaco Predictions

PSG To Qualify: This is probably going to be a really tight contest between the two and the head to head is evenly split in recent meetings in Paris. So look for some extra time to come along, but for PSG, who are scoring freely on the home front, can edge it in the end.

UEFA Champions League Betting

Monaco v Borussia Dortmund UEFA Champions League, 19th April 7.45pm

This is the quarter final which has gotten the least media attention this season, but the first leg turned out to be a real thriller with Monaco taking a 3-2 win in Dortmund. So there are probably going to be plenty more goals flowing in the second leg on Wednesday night as the Germans look to power their way back into the tie. This one is still up in the air with everything to play for. Dortmund are 13/10 to win the game, with Monaco at 19/10 and the draw is at 3/1.

Monaco v Borussia Dortmund Betting Tips

Monaco are blazing along in this season’s competition, having gotten past Manchester City in the last round after a crazy 6-6 aggregate draw, they are 3-2 up with away goals in the bag against Dortmund in this quarter-final clash. Monaco have won five of their six home games in this season’s UEFA Champions League (D1) and so they are in with a good chance in this one, especially against a Dortmund side who have struggled in France. Kylian Mbappe was on target twice in the first leg to give Monaco the advantage and he is a price of 5/4 in the bet365 anytime goalscorer market. Falcao is a price of 5/6 to net. The teenager has four goals in three knockout stage games this season. Monaco’s record in the quarter-finals of the European Cup to date is W2 L2 and this game to go over 2.5 goals at Bet365 is a price of 4/11 which looks likely.

The Ligue 1 side have won all 12 of the UEFA competition ties in which they won the away first leg, although they had never won an away leg by a 3-2 scoreline before. But then, all five previous teams winning 3-2 away from home in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie have progressed to the next round. Against German opposition, Monaco have won four of their last five home games (D1) across all competitions and they have only ever suffered one home defeat against Bundesliga opposition, which was against Borussia Monchengladbach in 1996. Overall, Monaco’s record at home to Bundesliga clubs is W4 D3 L1. It should be noted that they scored from their only two shots on target in the first leg (with Dortmund’s Sven Bender scoring an owl goal) and they are vulnerable at the back, having shipped 15 goals in this season’s campaign, the worst defensive record of all sides left in. Both teams to score at Bet365 is a quote of 1/3.

Borussia Dortmund do have the scoring power to get back into this and they are the top scorers in this season’s competition (27 goals in nine games), with 30% of their goals coming in the final 15 minutes (8). In fact, Dortmund’s games have produced more goals than any other team (40 – 27 for & 13 against). They don’t have a great record in the knockout stages, to be honest, with them having now lost 8 of their last 11 Champions League knockout stage fixtures (W3). Dortmund have lost just three of 12 European away fixtures played since the start of last season (W7 D2 L3) but are winless in their last two (D1 L1). Dortmund hold a 3-1 record in two-legged ties against French Clubs, but their record in France itself reads W2 D2 L4 but they won their last visit there against Marseille in the 2013/14 Group Stage. They have gone W1 D2 L3 in their last six trips to France. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Bet365 outright first goalscorer favourite at a price of 3/1

Who will win – Monaco v Borussia Dortmund Predictions

Borussia Dortmund Away Win: The Germans haven’t done well in France in Europe, but Monaco have been dodging a lot of bullets in the knockout stages because of their poor defence. That is likely to catch up with them at some point, so back the Germans to turn this around with a win.
