Amiens v Guingamp Ligue 1 Preview, 24th May 3.05pm

There is going to be a thrilling climax to the battle for survival in the French top flight on the weekend. Amiens are just in a position of safety going to the final round of action, but a slip-up and they could be caught. Read our Amiens v Guingamp betting tips for more.

Amiens v Guingamp Betting Odds*

Amiens 4/9
Draw 10/3
Guingamp 13/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Amiens News and Form

This is a very tricky position for Amiens on Friday. They are fourth from bottom heading into Friday’s game. They could end dropping one place which would mean that they would go to a playoff tie against the qualifier from the promotion playoffs in Ligue 2, to see who plays in the top flight next season. To avoid all of that stress, a win will guarantee that they stay out of any potential trouble. At the end of the day, they have to match whatever it is that Caen (who are 18th) do in their final game of the season.

They are not in any kind of winning form though. Amiens have gone D7 L2 in their last nine games, so that’s a huge chunk of drawn games. They have only suffered two defeats in their last twelve games played, just they just haven’t found that winning touch. Amiens are without defeat in their last seven on home soil, drawing each of their last four. A draw may not be enough for them. If they do draw and Caen win, things will come down to goal difference. Amiens have failed to score in four of their last six games, home and away combined. There’s huge pressure on them.

Amiens v Guingamp Head to Head

This will be just the fourth meeting between the two teams
Amiens are W2 D1 in their three previous games against Guingamp
Both teams have scored in the three previous meetings
Amines won their previous home game 3-1 against Guingamp

Guingamp News and Form

Guingamp are bottom of Ligue 1 and already know that they are going to be playing in the second tier next season. Mich like their Friday opponents, they are not in winning form, not having tasted success in any of their last eight played. They are not a huge threat, but they have put together a three-match drawing streak. They have picked up just two road victories all season in the top flight (W2 D5 L11) and they have failed to take a win in any of their last without on the road. They haven’t taken a clean sheet in five road games now.

Across the course of the season, they have averaged just 0.6 goals per away game. Guingamp’s defence has conceded at over two goals per game this season on the road. They have also been losing at halftime in 11 of their 18 away games. Of the eleven goals which they have scored on their travels, 73% of them have been netted in the second half of fixtures. Guingamp have some unsavoury records, including having scored the fewest goals and having conceded the most of all top-flight teams. They have drawn two for their last three away from home though, will they stop Amiens getting their win?

Amiens v Guingamp Tips & Odds

Amiens to win to nil 5/4
Guingamp 10/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Who will win – Amiens v Guingamp Predictions

The pressure is all on Amiens in this one. Neither team have been in any kind of winning touch and simply because of that, and because of the pressure of Amiens in this situation, we just have to lean on this being a narrow home success.

Caen v Bordeaux Prediction & Betting Tips, 24th May 2019

European Football Betting

Caen v Bordeaux Ligue 1 Preview, 24th May 3.05pm

Caen are not in a good position at the moment heading into the final weekend of action. They have to win this game and hope that Amiens fail to get one, to put themselves in with a chance of getting safe. They are facing a Bordeaux side who are horribly out of form. Will that save Caen? Read our Caen v Bordeaux betting tips for more.

Caen v Bordeaux Betting Odds*

Caen 2/5
Draw 7/2
Bordeaux 8/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Caen News and Form

Not an easy position for Caen to be in going into the final weekend of action in the French top flight. They are sat third from bottom, which is the spot that goes to a playoff against the team qualified from the promotion playoffs in the second tier. Whoever wins that tie plays in the top flight next season. Caen only have a slim chance of staying up. They have to win this game and hope that Amiens don’t beat Guingamp to do that. If Caen win and Amiens draw, that sends things to a head to head between the two clubs.

The problem for Caen is balance. Do they push hard for the win? Do they go conservative to try and avoid losing? Because if they lose and Dijon win their final game, that will inflict automatic relegation on Caen. Caen do have a bit of form going. They have gone W3 D1 L1 in their last five games played. Caen have only won seven league games all season, but five of those were against sides currently in the bottom six. Caen’s form is just W4 D5 L9 this season at home and they average under a goal per game. They have taken back to back victories at home.

Caen v Bordeaux Head to Head

There was a 0-0 draw between them earlier this season
Caen are unbeaten in three against Bordeaux
Bordeaux have failed to score in five of their last six against Caen
Both teams have scored in none of the last six meetings

Bordeaux News and Form

Bordeaux are frankly, in dreadful form. They are currently on a six-match losing streak, but the positive for them is that they have not going to have relegation concerns. They are safe and are just seeing the season out. This has been a really poor season and they have not landed consistency at any point this term. But it has just gotten worse and worse for them. They have failed to score in any of their last three games. Actually, each of those were 1-0 defeat. Bordeaux have produced just the one win in their last thirteen league games.

Out on their travels this season, Bordeaux have taken two points from their last ten games played and they are on a three-match losing streak on the road. They have had their problems putting the ball in the back of the net and they have scored a total of two in their last eight road fixture. So the poor form of Bordeaux could actually be some kind of saving grace for Caen. However, Bordeaux have won two of their last four visits there.

Caen v Bordeaux Tips & Odds

Under 2.5 goals at 4/5
Caen to win by a one-goal margin at 21/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Who will win – Caen v Bordeaux Predictions

Caen have to step up to the plate in this one and get a win on the board. They probably couldn’t have asked for a better game in which to do just that than in this one. Bordeaux are in a horrible mess at the moment and are there for the taking. Home win by a one-goal margin.

Dijon v Toulouse Prediction & Betting Tips, 24th May 2019

European Football Betting

Dijon v Toulouse Ligue 1 Preview, 24th May 3.05pm

Dijon have one shot at potential survival this season in the top flight. They have to produce a win on the final day of the season and hope that Caen lose their final game. If that happens the would move Dijon through to play off tie against the qualifier from the promotion playoffs in Ligue 2 to see who takes part in next season’s top flight. Read our Dijon v Toulouse betting tips for more.

Dijon v Toulouse Betting Odds*

Dijon 8/15
Draw 3/1
Toulouse 6/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Dijon News and Form

Dijon are going to be sweating bullets on the final day of the season. They are second from bottom but with a window to escape through. They have to pick up a victory in this game to have a chance at finishing third from bottom. Third from bottom would put them in a playoff tie to try and maintain their top-flight status. Dijon have suffered a loss in all but one of their last four games, but each defeat in that sequence was away from home. They are unbeaten in their last three on home soil, so have that going for them. They badly need a win here.

Along with their win, they need Caen to lose their final game which is against the out of form Bordeaux. Dijon have taken five home wins this season, and they were on a six-match winless streak at home before winning their last two there. They failed to score in four of those six games incidentally. Clearly, this has been a season of struggles for them, given this predicament. Dijon have not scored in four of their last seven home games. They don’t need a hatful of goals, just the three points. They are only two points behind 18th place Caen but they aren’t going to beat them on goal difference if it comes down to that.

Dijon v Toulouse Head to Head

Dijon and Toulouse played out 2-2 draw earlier this season
Dijon are unbeaten in their last six against Toulouse
Toulouse are W1 D3 L3 in their seven previous games against Dijan
Both teams have scored in three of the seven previous meetings

Toulouse News and Form

Toulouse have no worries over relegation on the final day of the season, so that’s a huge positive. That’s because they have not been in any winning form. In their last six league games, they have gone D3 L3 and have taken just one victory in their last nine on the road (D4 L4). So it’s a bit of toss of a coin as to what you are going to get out of them. So there is nothing riding on this game for them, so it’s unlikely that they are going to be producing a big performance.

Toulouse have managed just two points from their last eight away games in the top flight. They have failed to score in their last two. In their last away game, they only picked up a 0-0 draw at Amiens, a side who are fighting for survival on the final day of the season. In total Toulouse have posted just the four wins on their top-flight travels this season. Their clean sheet against Amiens was their first in eight road fixtures.

Dijon v Toulouse Tips & Odds

Dijon to win by a one-goal margin 13/5
Over 2.5 goals at 4/6
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on May 23rd, 2019 at 4:50 p.m.)

Who will win – Dijon v Toulouse Predictions

Dijon are desperate and Toulouse don’t have any winning form behind them on their travels, so this has to be a good opportunity for the home side. It’s all or nothing for them on the day as they have to win to have any chance of avoiding automatic relegation.

Odds on the favourites for 2019/20 Big Five European Leagues

Manchester City

Across the big five European leagues, there were no surprises this season as to where the titles ended up. Each of the favourites from the divisions were all successful. Looking forward twelve months from now, will it just be the same again?

Premier League 2019/20 Winner Odds*

Manchester City 8/11, Liverpool 11/4
* (betting odds taken from Paddy Power at 8:54 pm on May 19th, 2019)

This season’s Premier League title race was an epic. Manchester City and Liverpool locked horns pretty much all the way, and it wasn’t until the start of the new year that Manchester City clawed their way back into ascendancy. That started with their home win over the Reds on January 3rd, a game which they had gone into, seven points adrift of the Reds.

At the end of the day, they held their nerve brilliantly, winning their final fourteen fixtures of the league season to secure the title on the final day of the season. Pep Guardiola’s men are 8/11 to make it three in a row season* (betting odds taken from Paddy Power at 8:54 pm on May 19th, 2019). After having had the door slammed in their face of trying to earn their first Premier League title, Liverpool have to pick themselves back up and try to find a way to crack this remarkable City team.

Bundesliga 2019/20 Winner Odds*

Bayern Munich 8/13, Borussia Dortmund 13/2
* (betting odds taken from Paddy Power at 8:54 pm on May 19th, 2019)

This is another of the big five leagues that went down to the wire. All of the early form of the season was made by Borussia Dortmund. They raced out of the blocks while Bayern Munich, under new boss Niko Kovac took some time to get going. But it was Bayern Munich who started turning up the heat really from the start of December when they won thirteen of four games in a red-hot period of games. The tipping point in their favour came at the start of April as they crushed title rivals Dortmund 5-0.

Dortmund, who had gone undefeated from the start of the campaign through to mid-December, couldn’t keep up their pace. At the end of the even though they won eight of their last twelve games, costly slips away from home cost them. The interesting thing about next season’s Bundesliga is that Bayern are losing Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, while Dortmund will see Christian Pulisic go to Chelsea and Jadon Sancho is being hotly tipped for a move away as well. Who will adapt better to the changes?

Serie A 2019/20 Winner Odds*

Juventus 4/7, Inter 5/1, Napoli 11/2
* (betting odds taken from Paddy Power at 8:54 pm on May 19th, 2019)

Once again Serie A was a non-contest. Juventus romped to their eighth straight league title. Change will be coming next season as Juve are parting company with Massimiliano Allegri. But will that be enough to see their dominance in the country dwindle? It doesn’t seem too likely. It is a really tough thing to imagine how other contenders like Napoli or Inter are going to close the gap enough on Juventus, regardless of whoever is in charge.

La Liga Premier 2019/20 Winner Odds*

Barcelona 10/11, Real Madrid 11/10, Atletico 33/1
* (betting odds taken from Paddy Power at 8:54 pm on May 19th, 2019)

The demise of Real Madrid this season has been somewhat spectacular. Just about everything went wrong for them. After winning the Champions League for the third straight season last summer, boss Zinedine Zidane walked away, noticing that the club was likely to go into decline. It did. They started the season with Julen Lopetegui.

He was sacked in October to be replaced by Santiago Solari, becoming the official coach the following month. He was out of the door in March with Zinedine Zidane coming back. They ended the season with three losses in four, finishing 19 points behind winners Barcelona and eight behind second-placed Atletico Madrid. So it was fairly routine at the end of the day for Barcelona, who grabbed the title again losing just three times all campaign.

Ligue 1 2019/20 Winner Odds*

PSG, Lille, Lyon (odds to be announced)

There was little challenge to PSG in the title race in Ligue 1 this season. Even though their form slumped badly towards the end of the season, they still won at a canter ahead of second-placed Lille. This is a more extreme example than Serie A is really, because the money and the power that the Parisians have over everyone else on the domestic front is unmatched and they aren’t likely going to be touched next campaign either.

Read our Marseille v PSG betting tips for more.

Marseille v PSG Betting Odds*

PSG 4/9
Draw 4/1
Marseille 5/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 26th, 2018 at 1:21 p.m.)

Marseille News and Form

Marseille have earned back to back clean sheet wins in Ligue 1 so have a nice bit of form behind them ahead of this tough home game. They are actually unbeaten in their five league home games this season with a W4 D1 record. Three of Marseille’s home wins this season have been with a clean sheet. However, because this is PSG showing up, that’s probably worth a pass as a betting option.

Marseille have scored at least two goals in each of their home games this season. Over 3.5 goals is well worth a look at even money odds* (betting odds taken on October 26th, 2018 at 4:51 pm). 80% of Marseille’s home games this season have made it over 3.5 goals. There is more to support that as well because Marseille’s last 10 home matches against PSG in all competitions have seen over 2.5 goals.

Marseille have won seven of their last eight league games at home so certainly have the home from behind them. They could be missing the influential Florian Thauvin though who remains a doubt for this game after missing the Europa League on Thursday night. He has scored in three of Marseille’s five home games this season. In total at home, this season in the top flight Marseille have produced 15 goals and have conceded just the four.

Marseille v PSG Head to Head

Marseille took a point in a 2-2 draw at home against PSG last season
PSG are unbeaten in their last seventeen games against PSG
PSG have scored at least two goals in 12 of their last 13 against Marseille
Marseille lost 3-0 twice at PSG last season in league and cup
Marseille have scored in each of their last seventeen home games against PSG
PSG are W4 D2 in their last six league meetings with Marseille

PSG News and Form

There doesn’t appear to be any stopping PSG at the moment as they have taken back to back 5-0 league wins now over Lyon and Amiens respectively. They have produced a victory in all ten of their league games this season and they have come up with at least three goals in all four of their road games. They have pretty strong form against Marseille having won 14 of their last 16 matches against them in all competitions.

In the correct score market a PSG 2-1 is the shortest-priced option at 15/2 odds* (betting odds taken on October 26th, 2018 at 4:51 pm). PSG have averaged over three goals per away game this season, while they have won their last three league matches without conceding. But because PSG have conceded in three of their four road games, both teams to score is at 4/7 odds* (betting odds taken on October 26th, 2018 at 4:51 pm)

That Parisians have been winning at both half time and full time in 6 of their last 7 matches (Ligue 1). Kylian Mbappe has five goals in this last two league games for them, and has nine goals in five league appearances so far this season. He can be backed at 15/4 odds in the first goalscorer market* (betting odds taken on October 26th, 2018 at 4:51 pm). Then there is Neymar of course who has returned eight goals in eight league fixtures for the Champions this season.

Who will win – Marseille v PSG Predictions

It should be another win for PSG just because they are on a different level here. Still, Marseille have a good scoring record against them and so we will back the PSG to win & both teams to score option.

Monaco v PSG Prediction & Betting Tips – 26th November 2017

Betting Advice

Monaco v PSG Ligue 1, 26th November 8.00pm

A top two battle will be going down in the Principality of Monaco on Saturday night in this huge clash. Not too surprisingly, it is PSG leading the way at the top of the French League as they have yet to be beaten so far this term. Monaco, despite a heavy summer of selling, are their closest challengers but are already six points adrift of the leaders. They badly need this home win to keep in touch. PSG are 8/15 to win with bet365, with the draw trading at 15/4 and Monaco at 9/2.

Monaco v PSG Betting Tips

Monaco have managed to just about stay in touch with league leaders PSG this season which is surprising considering the number of sales and loan deals over the summer which saw them lose top talent like Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Kylian Mbappe. To their credit they have pieced things together pretty well since then but you get the feeling that this is not a game which they can afford to lose as they are trailing PSG by six points already. Monaco have gone W9 D2 L2 this season in the French top flight and they are unbeaten on home soil with a W5 D1 record. They have beaten Marseille and Caen there, two of the current top six sides this season so they have been pretty reliable throughout. They have been potent in front of goal as well with 21 goals having been returned at an average of 3.5 goals per game. They have conceded just the four but three of those have been in the second half of matches.

Over 2.5 goal sat bet365 is a price of 4/11 and that’s because four of the last five meetings have ended that way. They have already met this season in the French Super Cup with PSG taking a 2-1 victory back in July. Monaco did win this corresponding league fixture last season though, pounding out a 3-1 victory over the Parisians. In the anytime goalscorer market for the home side, Falcao is an 11/10 option for them with Stevan Jovetic at 9/4. Monaco have scored in both halves in 83% of their home fixtures this term. Defensively they haven’t been as solid as PSG have been this season and both teams to score in this one looks pretty likely at a price of 1/2. Monaco will be looking to snap a four match winless streak that they are on against PSG in all competitions now, losing each of their last three against them.

PSG are rolling along at the top of the table, unbeaten for the season and having dropped just the four points in a couple of drawn matches. Both of those draws did happen out on the road as they failed to get the better of Montpellier and Marseille. They have goals in them of course and they have netted twelve in their last three league games and rattled off seven against Celtic in the Champions League in midweek. Edinson Cavani has been in terrific goalscorer form with fifteen league goals already this season and he is the 5/2 bet365 first goalscorer favourite. Neymar, who has seven league goals for his new club is a 4/5 anytime goalscorer option. PSG have averaged 2.8 goals per away game in the top flight this season and 50% of their road games have gone over 2.5 goals. 71% of the goals that they have scored this season on their travels have come in the second half of matches.

Who will win – Monaco v PSG Predictions

PSG have to take the money in this one just because of their attack and they are the stronger of the two at the back as well. Monaco’s shortcoming this season have been because they haven’t quite filled all the gaps of their summer sales. PSG can take advantage and bank a big three road points.

Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Prediction & Betting Tips – 14th May 2017

Betting Advice

Monaco v Lille Ligue 1, 14th May 8.00pm

Monaco have a chance to quickly put the disappointment of their Champions League semi-final loss to Juventus behind them. They need just the three points in this one to be crowned French champions. So this is a big chance on home soil for them and they take on a Lille side who have lost three of their last five league outings. Monaco are 1/6 for the win, with the draw at 13/2 and Lille are 12/1.

One of the top football betting products around is Bet365’s 0-0 Bore Draw Insurance which they offer on all matches listed in their sportsbook. Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Betting Tips

Here’s the situation for Monaco. They win this game and they will be crowned champions. If PSG wins their game on the weekend as well, mathematically Monaco would not be champions, but they would have a six-point advantage over second-placed PSG with a game in hand plus a massive goal difference advantage. Monaco have produced a fantastic W15 D1 L1 record at home this season in Ligue 1. Home or away they have not lost a game since a defeat against Lyon back on December 18th last year, putting up a W15 D2 record since then. They are running on a nine-match winning streak at the moment in the French top flight. Immense stuff it has been from them and they should close out the deal here. They go into this game 43 points ahead of mid-table Lille and they have already beat them twice this season too, once in the league and once in the French Cup. Both teams to score at bet365 is a value punt at 4/5 as both teams have scored in each of the last three meetings between these two.

In the bet365 correct score market, a Monaco 2-1 win is a good price of 9/1. Monaco need just two goals to reach 100 for the season in the league and Falcao is up at a price of 2/5 in the anytime goalscorer market with Kylian Mbappe, who is a doubt for this one, at 8/11. They are such a good, positive young side that there shouldn’t be any slip up in this one. Lille have won just the six away games this season in a W6 D4 L8 record, but they have won three of their last four away from home (L1). They have managed only just over one goal per game this season though (37 goals in 36 matches) so aren’t a tremendous threat going forward. They are patchy at best and they have taken just the one victory in their nine matches so far against the current top five in Ligue 1 so haven’t carried themselves off well against the better opposition. Nicolas De Preville is a 4/1 anytime goalscorer option for them and he has three goals in his last three games.

Who will win – Monaco v Lille Ligue 1 Predictions

Monaco home win: Monaco can shake off that midweek disappointment by firing themselves towards the league title here. It’s unlikely that the visitors are going to turn up and ruin their party at all.
