Leeds are on a three-match winning streak in the league after a 3-0 success out at Reading last weekend. That was their third clean sheet in a row as well. So it is going really well for them at the moment. This is a tough game for them against third-placed Sheffield United. Leeds are on a three-match winning streak at Elland Road in the Championship. Overall this season Leeds are W12 D3 L3 on home soil in the second tier. So that has been a very good return. Their scoring has gone well at an average of 1.8 goals per home game.
Leeds have conceded at under a goal per game at home this season. In total, they have earned a clean sheet in 44% of games at Elland Road. Both teams have scored in 50% of games there. In their last home game, they produced a stunning 4-0 home win over West Brom. Leeds have scored 62% of their home goals in the second half of matches. Just two sides in the division have a better home record than Leeds.
Leeds earned a 1-0 away win at Sheffield United earlier this season
The Blades were on a three-match winning streak over the Whites before that
Leeds have won one of their last four at home against United
The Blades have won five of the previous nine previous Championship meetings
The Blades are bang in form in their own promotion push as well. They have taken back to back 2-0 wins over Bradford and Rotherham in the division. They are currently undefeated in their last nine games, home and away in the division. Away from home, they are on a four-match undefeated streak, part of an overall W8 D5 L5 road record this season. They have had their struggles away against the stronger sides though it is worth noting. They are W1 D3 L4 in their eight away games against sides currently in the top half of the table.
Sheffield United have scored an average of 1.5 goals per away game this season while they have taken a clean sheet in 33% of their away games. The Blades have drawn three for their last four on the road and have taken just the one victory in their last five away from Bramall Lane (D1 L1). Four of their five away defeats suffered this season have been by a one-goal margin. They have a great half time away record of W7 D9 L2. 62% of the away goals they have conceded have been in the second half of matches. They currently boast the second-best defensive record in the division.
Big games like this often fail to get going really and therefore the most likely outcome is the draw. It most certainly is a game that neither are going to want to lose and caution may win out at the end of the day. Draw.

What a match this should be from Elland road between two top-four sides in the Championship. Leeds are just struggling a bit to rediscover their great form from earlier in the season while the Blades continue to impress so much on their return to the second tier. This should be a great battle between the two of them and Leeds are 5/4 at bet365 to pick up the three points with the Blades at 9/4 and the draw at 23/10.
The two Yorkshire sides will battle it out in this top four duel in the Championship on Friday night. Leeds need a win in this one to play a bit of catch up to the Blades as well, who they trail by four points going into the fixture. Leeds were rampant at the start of the season, putting together a seven match unbeaten streak, winning five of them and collecting a sequence of six straight clean sheets. Since then it has not been as convincing as they have only posted a W2 L4 record in their last six and have just the one clean sheet in that sequence. So their defence has fallen out of form and that will make them vulnerable in this one. At home this season in the Championship, Leeds have posted a W3 D2 L1 record with the only defeat happening in their most recent fixture at Elland Road, a 1-0 loss against Reading.
Under 2.5 goals at bet365 is a good 3/4 option for this game as neither will want to give anything away in this battle. In the anytime goalscorer market Leeds have Pierre-Michel Lasogga as the 13/10 favourite, backed up by Samuel Saiz at a price of 11/5. Leeds have picked up four clean sheets in their six home games this season and Leeds to win to nil at bet365 returns a price of 11/4. In total, they have shipped just the three goals at Elland Road this season and would receive a big fillip if they collect three points in this one. The Blades have produced a fantastic season with a W9 D0 L4 record from their thirteen games and they are just playing some bold stuff to make themselves one of the early contenders this season for promotion to the Premier League. They are underdogs for the win in this one, but they will be in the mix.
Sheffield United have been extremely strong at Bramall Lane this season, not quite so much out on the road. They have produced a W3 D0 L3 record away from home this season in the Championship and they suffered a loss in their last away game which was at Nottingham Forest. They carry a good offensive threat though Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke who are 15/8 and 11/5 respectively in the anytime goalscorer market. The last time they faced Leeds was in the 2010/11 Championship season and they lost 1-0 at Elland Road before winning the reverse home fixture. They have only lost one of their last six games against Leeds now in a W2 D3 L1 record against the Whites. A point wouldn’t be a bad result for them out of this one at all and in the bet365 correct score market, the 1-1 draw is the shortest priced option at 5/1.
Draw: The Blades are pretty fearless at the moment and with the recent struggles that Leads have been having then the away side has to be in with a chance of collecting a point in this one. This should be tight, but the away side can go to Elland Road and hold their own.
