Group C action brings Austria and Israel together on Thursday. Five of the six teams in the group, including these two, still have a shot at qualification for Euro 2020. Austria starts in third place in the table, two points above Israel. It’s a big game for both. Read our Austria v Israel betting tips for more.

Austria trail group leaders Poland by three points and also have Slovenia head of them in the table. So they have some work to do and a W3 D1 L2 record has gotten them this far. Back in March this year Austria lost 4-2 in Israel, despite opening the scoring in the fixture. After failing to get a win in their first two qualifiers, Austria picked it up by winning three of their next four. Their last fixture saw them earn a good away point in Poland.
Austria’s defence has sharpened up with them having earned three clean sheets in their last four qualifiers. They have a good home record behind them in European Championship qualifiers as well. Austria are W6 D1 L1 in their last eight home qualifier matches. Each of the six wins in that sequence were with a clean sheet as well. As a betting trend for Austria v Israel, four of Austria’s last six European Championship home qualifiers they have won by a 1-0 scoreline.
Israel are W2 D1 in their last three European Championship qualifiers against Austria
Austria have won only one of their last six against Israel
Both teams have scored in all but one of the last seven meetings
Austria are W4 D4 L2 in the overall head to head with Israel
Three points would be massive for Israel in this one, while defeat would leave them a mountain too big to climb to reach next summer’s finals. Israel went undefeated in their first three qualifiers, but defeats against Poland and Slovenia combined with a poor draw against Macedonia set them back. A point in the long run probably isn’t going to be enough for Israel, but it would maintain their head to head tie-breaker advantage over the Austrians.
The problem for Israel is their lack of form away from home in European Championship qualifiers. They have only gone W1 D1 L4 in their last six such fixtures. Each of their last four away qualifiers have gone over 2.5 goals as has seven of their last eight, so that could be a big betting trend. The 4-2 win at home that they took over Austria was fantastic, with Eran Zahavi netting a hattrick. They need a very special away night here.
Austria should have the quality at home to collect three points. It doesn’t matter at this point how they come, they just need to get them. Israel are capable of proving themselves a stubborn opponent, but they aren’t great away from home as shown in their group stage thumping in Poland.

This is a top two clash in Group G of Euro 2020 qualification. Poland are leading the way with a two-point advantage over Israel. So this is an important game at the top which could either see Poland strengthen their position or Israel shake things up by winning. It should be a pretty interesting fixture nonetheless unless both just set their stall out not to lose. Read our Poland v Israel betting tips for more.

Poland are on a three-match winning streak at the moment. On Friday they edged a 1-0 win out in Macedonian in their third qualifier. That built on their two successes over Austria and Latvia in the group prior to that. Each of their last three wins in their current form have been with a clean sheet. This has been a pretty good response from Poland actually because they had a poor time of things in the Nations League, finishing bottom of their group behind Italy and Portugal.
They were on a run of six winless games (D3 L3) before the start of this European Championships qualification campaign. The surprising thing about this upturn in form is that Robert Lewandovski has gotten just one of Poland’s four goals in the group. It its Krysztof Piatken who is leading the way for them with two. Each of Poland’s last six games have ended under 2.5 goals, so it probably not worth expecting fireworks in this fixture.
Poland’s one previous game against Arsenal ended in a 3-2 win
That was an intentional friendly back in 2005
So Israel have made a positive start to their Euro 2020 qualification campaign, having taken seven points from their three games so far. They opened with a 1-1 draw at home against Slovenia before putting a wonderful 4-2 home success on the board of Austria. On Friday they made the trip to Latvia and put up a 3-0 victory. So that’s seven goals in two games from them. Actually, the recent scoring form of Israel is well worth noting actually.
They have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven games now. Remarkably seven of Israel’s eight goals so far in the Euro 2020 qualifying group has come from one man. That is Eran Zahavi who has scored back to back hat tricks. There will probably never be a better time than now to consider him in the anytime goalscorer market. Latvia have taken just the one clean sheet in their last three games, so this is going to be a really interesting fixture.
It has to be worth a look at this one being a decent game with both teams getting on the scoresheet. Israel are actually in pretty good form at the moment and even though they are away from home, could challenge. Stick at over 2.5 goals.

Scotland have a chance at success in winning Nations League C1 but in order to do that, they have to win this fixture. Because of having already lost against Israel in the group, only a win gets Scotland the top spot in the group. Israel will top the group if they can earn at least a draw in the game. Scotland produced a big 4-0 success over Albania on Saturday, a win which sets themselves up for this big showdown against Israel. Overall the form of Scotland isn’t too hot as they have gone W2 L3 in their last five games. One of those losses was their 2-1 loss in Israel in which the Scots copped a lot of heat form. It was a dreadful performance from them in that match and they looked not too likely to be in a position to win the group. But they are here. Four of Scotland’s’ last five games have gone over 2.5 goals and that is a 6/5 odds option to repeat in this fixture* (betting odds taken on November 18th, 2018 at 3:25 pm)
The Scots are on a four-match scoring streak themselves so that is a good positive for them going into this game. The Scots are W1 L2 in their last three home fixtures. The Scots have shipped a total of seven goals in their last three home games. Both teams to score is at even money odds for this one* (betting odds taken on November 18th, 2018 at 3:25 pm). In their one Nations League home game so far Scotland took a 2-0 win over Albania. Their form over their last six fixtures is W2 L4. The two victories in that sequence were both with a clean sheet as well. A draw will not be enough for Scotland to win the group. They just need to find a way to get it done and earn some revenge over Israel at the same time.
The first Nations League game, which Israel won 2-1 is the only previous meeting
Out of the blue, Israel have hit a strong bit of form with three straight wins. They warmed up for this one with a 7-0 international friendly win over Guatemala on Thursday night. That was after a poor run of W1 L5 that Israel have come up with this three-match winning streak. Israel have banked a clean sheet in their last two games but they are a big 3/1 odds option to pick up a clean sheet in the game* (betting odds taken on November 18th, 2018 at 3:25 pm).
Israel have won both of their Nations League home games, but away from home, they suffered 1-0 defeat out at bottom side Albania who have already been relegated. Israel only need a draw out of this game because of their head to head superiority over Scotland. Both teams have scored in just one of Israel’s last five games. In the correct score market, a Scotland 1-0 win is the shortest-priced option coming in at 5/1 odds* (betting odds taken on November 18th, 2018 at 3:25 pm).
The Scots have nothing to lose on home soil and can take the meeting by the scruff of the neck. They can’t possibly be as heavily outplayed as they were in their away game against Israel. Big occasion. Big advantage being at home. Home win.

Scotland will put themselves in a strong position if they can go and win out in Israel on Thursday. This isn’t a time for them to be all conservative. They can really press home an advantage in their group in terms of pushing for promotion with a positive result. Israel failed to get anything out of their opening group game against Albania. Israel suffered a 1-0 loss against Albania in their opening Nations League match which puts them on the back foot immediately. That was away from home, so they open their account on home soil in this one. They are obviously in desperate need of a win in this one to play catch up to Scotland and Albania. However, they are desperately out of form at the moment. They have gone W1 L5 in their last half-dozen games and sticking the ball in the back of the net has become a huge problem for them.
They have scored just the two goals in that run of six games. Because there’s no reason to expect a high-scoring duel in this one, under 1.5 goals is well worth a look at 7/4 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from October 8th, 2018 at 3:54 p.m.). Four of Israel’s last six games have gone that way. In their last match, they were beaten heavily by Northern Ireland in a friendly during the last international break. Given their form, they really shouldn’t be posing too much of a threat for the Scots in this one.
Scotland took a win over Albania in their opening match of the Nations League and how badly they, and manager Alex McLeish needed that one. It snapped a run of pretty poor form and now they need to push on from there. They benefited from an own goal and then one from Steven Naismith against Albania to get a 2-0 success. Scotland to win to nil doesn’t look a bad option all things considered at 15/4 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from October 8th, 2018 at 3:54 p.m.). That’s naturally a bit heavily priced though as they are away from home.
Frankly, there’s enough value in backing Scotland just in the match outright really. Scotland have recalled Scott McKenna, Jack Hendry, Jon McLaughlin & Oli McBurnie for the match. Following this one Scotland will get a friendly against Portugal under their belt next weekend. Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths pulled out of the squad though, saying that he needed time to work on his fitness. A win in the games puts Scotland three points clear of Albania at the top of the pile with two to play.
This will likely be a tight, low scoring game. For our Israel v Scotland predictions we are going to look at the away win. Scotland have to show some courage here and they are facing a side who they can match up against well. Away win.

The Irish slipped to a home defeat against Bosnia in their opening Nations League match over the weekend. So not quite the start they wanted, especially at Windsor Park. They stay there for their midweek match which is a friendly against Israel. Israel suffered a Nations League defeat against Albania over the weekend. Northern Ireland 11/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.)
Northern Ireland were beaten 2-1 at home on the weekend as they played host to Bosnia in their opening Nations League fixture. So that leaves them in a tough spot with one home fixture having fallen by the wayside. They get a friendly fixture in next and probably a chance for them to get some of their squad players into action. Will Grigg got their goal on the weekend and he is at 9/3 in the anytime goalscorer market for this one with teammate Kyle Lafferty leading the way in the market.
Their result on the weekend leaves Northern Ireland with just the one win in their last eight games played now (D2 L5) so they are struggling for form at the moment. They are also just W1 L3 in their last four games at Windsor Park so they are just looking for that something extra at the moment. Under 1.5 goals for the game is at 1/5 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.). It’s hard to see this game producing a lot of goals really, especially with it just being a friendly.
Israel took a defeat against Albania in their Nations League opener, going down 1-0 away from home. Israel lost six of their ten World Cup 2018 qualification matches, scoring an average of a goal per game. So they weren’t terribly competitive to be fair and their overall current form isn’t much to write home about. They are W1 L4 in their last five fixtures now, the lone success there coming in a 1-0 win at Liechtenstein in World Cup qualification. That is just two goals in their last five games which they have scored. All four defeats in that sequence were by a one-goal margin. Northern Ireland to win by a one-goal margin is at 13/5 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.)
This will be the first meeting between Israel and Northern Ireland since they were together in World Cup 2014 qualifying. Israel took four points from the two meetings on that occasion. Three of the last four games between the two countries have ended in a 1-1 draw. Just two of the previous nine have gone over 2.5 goals. Northern Ireland holds a W3 D5 L1 record against Israel.
Northern Ireland couldn’t hold their ground against Bosnia on the weekend, but it will be a little easier to do so against Israel. This is likely to be a low scoring match up without question and we are going to back a narrow home in our Northern Ireland v Israel betting tips.
