Ireland v Bulgaria International Friendly Preview, 10th September 7.45pm

Ireland will step back from the Euro 2020 qualifiers to get in a bit of intentional friendly action. The Irish dug out a draw against Switzerland in their qualification campaign on Friday. That keeps them in the hunt for a place at Euro 2020 next summer. Bulgaria were smashed by England at Wembley in qualification action on Saturday. Read our Ireland v Bulgaria betting tips for more.

Ireland v Bulgaria Betting Odds*

Ireland 8/13
Draw 13/5
Bulgaria 19/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 29th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Ireland News and Form

The Irish were under considerable pressure in their 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Friday. David McGoldrick got their equaliser five minutes from time though, against a very good team. That is a seven-match undefeated streak of form that Ireland are currently on W3 D4 so they have been hard to knock over. Each of their last seven games, competitive and friendly, have all ended under 2.5 goals so there’s a big trend for this friendly. Ireland are undefeated in the friendly games now, drawing their last two. They have lost just one of their last five home friendly fixtures (W3 D1).

Ireland v Bulgaria Head to Head

All three previous meetings have ended in a draw
They were all 1-1 results as well
This will be the first meeting since the 2010 World Cup qualifiers

Bulgaria News and Form

Bulgaria had a rough time of things at Wembley against England on Saturday. To be fair they didn’t even look mildly interested in trying to get a result out of the game. That was to the point it looked more like a friendly than a competitive European Championship qualifier. Bulgaria have just two points from their five qualifiers. So needless to say they are not a team in form. They are winless in their last eight games now (D2 L4). They do have a bit of form going in friendly matches having won four of their last five played. They have won their last two road friendlies as well, one of those wins happening in Portugal.

Ireland v Bulgaria Tips & Odds

1-1 correct score at 6/1
Half time draw at 11/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 29th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Who will win – Ireland v Bulgaria Predictions

Why not roll with the trend of 1-1 results happening again when these two come together for what will be just the fourth time. It’s not a game either are going to be particularly bothered about and it is likely to peter out pretty quickly. Draw.

Ireland v Northern Ireland Prediction & Betting Tips, 15th November 2018

International Football Betting

Ireland v Northern Ireland International Friendly Preview, 15th November 7.45pm

Both sides can be forgiven if they are going to be a bit distracted in this game. Before they both return to Nations League action they could both find themselves relegated from their respective groups. So they will all be keeping one eye on that at least. Can anyone come up with a winner in this fixture? Read our Ireland v Northern Ireland betting tips for more.

Ireland v Northern Ireland Betting Odds*

Ireland 11/10
Draw 11/5
Northern Ireland 13/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 12th, 2018 at 1:52 p.m.)

Ireland News and Form

It has been a tough period of results for Ireland who have failed to win any of their last four games with a D2 L2 record. They have only produced the one victory in their last nine games overall too (D3 L5). So they could really do with the lift of a win in this one, but they have failed to even score in four of their last six as well. Both teams not to score is at 8/11 odds* (betting odds taken on November 12th, 2018 at 4:59 pm). They have, however, scored in all but one of their last four home games played against Northern Ireland.

In the head to head between Ireland v Northern Ireland, it is Ireland who are ahead with a W4 D4 L2 record. They have only suffered the one defeat in their last eight games against Northern Ireland so that is a positive for them. With neither of these two carrying much form, then under 2.5 goals is at 11/20 odds* (betting odds taken on November 12th, 2018 at 4:59 pm). Ireland have three clean sheets in their last four games against Northern Ireland. Ireland have won one of their last four home games (W1 D2 L1). If Denmark take at least a point against Wales on Friday night, Ireland will find themselves relegated from their Nations League group.

Northern Ireland News and Form

Northern Ireland too then are out of form as well with three losses having been suffered in their last four games. When they get back Nations League action on November 18th against Austria, they could have already been relegated unless the Austrians lose against Bosnia in the meantime. Northern Ireland have failed to score in seven of their last ten. In the correct score market an Ireland 1-0 is at 5/1 odds* (betting odds taken on November 12th, 2018 at 4:59 pm)

Northern Ireland have managed to win just two of their last eleven fixtures, losing seven of those, so have been struggling for a while. This will be their first meeting with Ireland since 2011, but the last time that they played in Dublin, which was back in 1999, they did get a 1-0 away win on the board. Kyle Lafferty is back in the Northern Ireland squad after his absence from the last two games. They also get back Seamus Coleman and Robbie Brady so have experienced heads returning to the fold.

Who will win – Ireland v Northern Ireland Predictions

The importance of the upcoming Nations League games is likely going to take the shine off this one. There’s no need for either to go full tilt at this and both will be looking ahead to those competitive fixtures. A Dublin draw looks likely.

Poland v Ireland Prediction & Betting Tips, 11th September 2018

International Football Betting

Poland v Ireland International Friendly Preview, 11th September 7.45pm

Ireland suffered a hammering at the hands of Wales in their opening Nations League match. They weren’t at their strongest for their trip to Cardiff but still, that was a pretty chastening defeat. Can they put in some kind of response here? Poland picked up a 1-1 draw in their opening fixture of the Nations League, away in Italy. Read our Poland v Ireland betting tips for more.

Poland v Ireland Betting Odds*

Poland 11/20
Draw 3/1
Ireland 19/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.)

Poland News and Form

Poland will probably be pretty happy with their 1-1 draw out in Italy for their opening Nations League fixture. They step back from competition action to head back to home soil to take on Ireland in this friendly. That means there will probably be some changes to their starting eleven as there’s nothing at stake in this one. That will likely play its part in this game finishing under 2.5 goals which is at 8/11 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.).

Poland’s form is just W3 D3 L4 in their last ten games and part of that is down to them playing poorly at the 2018 World Cup. They just looked tired and clueless tactically. It was a bit better against Italy from them. With home advantage on their side in his one Poland to win by a 1 goal margin is at 12/5 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.). That makes for a pretty reasonable betting tip for the Poland v Ireland fixture coming on Tuesday.

Ireland News and Form

Where do Ireland turn after that heavy loss against Wales? The men in green were pummelled 4-1 by a rampant Welsh side in Cardiff. Ireland weren’t at full strength, granted, but they were just poor in all departments. That was a really heavy blow dealt to them in the Nations League but at least they can freshen up the side in this one. They may need to look at new options too as their form is not good at the moment. They are W1 D1 L4 in their last six games. They have scored in just three of their last six as well.

Across their last nine fixtures, Ireland have scored more than one goal in a match on just the one occasion. There is a lack of quality up front and also in carving out chances from midfield creativity as well. They probably will have had a good talking too after what happened to them in Cardiff, but it still looks a stretch for them to win on the road here. In the bet365 correct score market a Poland 1-0 option is at 9/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.).

Poland v Ireland Head to Head

The time the two of these met was in Euro 2016 qualification and Poland picked up four points from the two meetings, which included a 2-1 home win over Ireland. Poland are unbeaten in three then against Ireland (W1 D2). There’s not a great deal of head to head between them with Poland holding an overall W2 D3 L1 record. Four of the previous six have ended under 2.5 goals.

Who will win – Poland v Ireland Predictions

Poland may have enough to get past an Irish side who looked really poor in Cardiff. The men in green may not have enough in their squad to change things up enough at the moment and we are going to stick with a home win for our Poland v Ireland betting tips.

Turkey v Ireland Prediction & Betting Tips – 23rd March 2018

International Football Betting

Turkey v Ireland International Friendly, 23rd March

After failing to come through the World qualification play off round, Ireland will have nothing do over the summer. They head off for a friendly match on Friday night as they look to regather themselves. Turkey are in the same boat after really falling flat in their group stage campaign, coming fourth only.

Turkey v Ireland Odds

Turkey 19/20, Draw 11/5, Ireland 16/5* (Betting Odds taken at 00:22 p.m. on March 21st, 2018)

Turkey v Ireland Betting Tips

Neither of these will be going to the World Cup in the summer. Turkey really failed to mount a strong challenge in their group, which wasn’t that difficult of one for them really. They just couldn’t get up a head of steam or consistency at all and finished fourth. Basically Turkey are a side who are lacking a bit of form overall really. Back in the November international break, they played friendly matches against Romania and Albania, losing both and conceding five goals in the process. That is at least two goals that they have conceded in each of their last four games now. Turkey have returned a poor W1 D1 L4 record in their last six, failing to score in three of the four losses in that sequence. So Ireland should certainly have nothing to fear in this at all and under 2.5 goals at bet365 is at 1/2 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 07:22 p.m. on March 20th, 2018).

2014 was the last time that the Turks and the Irish came together. That was friendly in Dublin and the visitors took a 2-1 win on that occasions. From the five previous friendly matches, things are actually even at one win each and three draws.

Ireland got themselves to the play offs in qualification for the World Cup, thanks to a dramatic win in Wales in their final group stage match. However, they really threw it all away as they were destroyed by Denmark in that play-off tie. So the Irish will be twiddling their thumbs over the summer as well. The Boys in Green are carrying a little more form than their Turkish counterparts are though so that’s a little bit of a positve. Ireland are W2 D2 L2 in their last six games. Their last home game was their World Cup play-off second leg against Denmark in which they just capitulated, having going into the game on the back of a solid 0-0 away draw. The Irish are not a particularly high scoring side and both teams NOT to score at bet356 for this one is a decent option at 4/7 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 07:22 p.m. on March 20th, 2018). This will be Ireland’s only game during the current international break.

Who will win – Turkey v Ireland Predictions

A low scoring game will probably be churned out as is usually the case in these international friendly matches. This really serves no purpose for either side so expect a a bit of a nothing-match but Ireland look the better of the two anyway, so just settle on a draw.

Ireland v Uruguay Prediction & Betting Tips – 4th June 2017

International Football Betting

Ireland v Uruguay International Friendly, 4th June

After their second string lost out in New York against Mexico, Ireland head back to home soil for a game against Uruguay on Sunday. Boss Martin O’Neill has drafted some experienced faces back into the squad for this one as the Irish prepare for an important World Cup 2018 qualifying clash against Austria on June 11th. Uruguay have fallen badly out of form with some damaging World Cup qualifying losses recorded. Ireland are 15/8 for the win, with the draw at 11/5 and Uruguay at 6/4.

Ireland v Uruguay Betting Tips

An inexperienced Ireland side lost 3-1 against Mexico on the weekend in a game that the Irish didn’t put a lot of stock in. Martin O’Neill has recalled players like Jeff Hendrick, John O’Shea and Jon Walters for the squad against Uruguay and for the qualifier against Austria on June 11th. Ireland got a bit of a football lesson by Mexico the weekend Uruguay are ranked one place above the Mexicans in the FIFA rankings. For Ireland, this is now much more serious preparation for the Austria game and this is going to be a decent test for them. The last time that the two nations met was in March 2011 when Uruguay ran out 3-2 winners in a friendly. Ireland’s head to head against Uruguay reads W0 D1 L2. Both teams to score at William Hill returns a price of 10/11 and up in the anytime goalscorer market, Ireland’s Daryl Murphy is a 9/4 punt as their shortest priced option.

Trading in the William Hill correct score market, a 1-1 draw is the shortest-priced option at 5/1. Uruguay doesn’t have Luis Suarez for this one, but Edinson Cavani is 6/5 outright anytime goalscorer favourite. The South Americans have lost their last three games, each of them in World Cup qualifiers which has put some pressure on them there after having produced a very strong start. They don’t go in the qualifiers again now until the end of August when they have a massive game against Argentina. They are still in the qualification spots, but now have a battle on their hands. The last friendly that Uruguay played was back in May last year when they beat Trinidad easily. They have been scoring well, it has to be said and have hit the back of the net in each of their last seven games. Over 2.5 goals in this one is a price of 13/10 at bookmaker William Hill.

Who will win – Ireland v Uruguay Predictions

Draw: Ireland should be a little stronger for this one at least for part of the game and with Uruguay not really having any interest in this at all with no competitive games for a while, this may just fizzle out to a draw as the Irish will want to keep themselves for the challenge of Austria.

Mexico v Ireland Prediction & Betting Tips – 2nd June 2017

International Football Betting

Mexico v Ireland International Friendly, 2nd June

Before the next round of World Cup 2018 qualifiers arrives soon, Ireland are off on their travels getting in an international friendly. They face up against Mexico who themselves have a big qualifier coming up in the next round of games against the USA. This game is being played out in New York and with the Irish not going particularly well in international friendly matches, Mexico may be favoured. Mexico are 11/20 to take the win, with the draw at 14/5 and Ireland are at 11/2.

You can earn a free £5 bet each at William Hill each and every week. Just place a minimum of £20 or more on football accumulators with four or more selections and you will claim your free £5 bet back. Mexico v Ireland Betting Tips

Mexico are running in decent form at the moment and they are top of the CONMEBOL World Cup 2018 qualification group as well. They have a big, big game against the USA coming up which they will want to win to further their case in the group. They also have the Confederations Cup coming up as well in June so they are going to be looking to continue some good momentum. They have won three of their last four international friendly matches and each of those wins came by a one-goal margin. A Mexico to win by a one-goal margin at William Hill is trading at a price of 12/5. That’s probably going to have some appeal in this one. The last time these two met was back in June 2000 when there was a 2-2 draw played out between them. In the William Hill correct score market a Mexico 1-0 correct score is the shortest priced option at a 9/2 price for the game. This is probably going to be a low-scoring affair.

Under 2.5 goals at William Hill is a price of 4/6. Ireland doesn’t seem to put a great deal of focus on international friendly games and they have won just two of their last seven. To emphasise that, over the last twelve months they have suffered friendly defeats against Belarus and Iceland. After this one, the Irish go on to face Uruguay in a friendly before meeting Austria in their World Cup qualifier on June 11th. That is the game that they will have full focus on of course. In the William Hill anytime goalscorer market, the shortest priced option for Ireland is Daryl Murphy at 15/4. Mexico’s Oribe Peralta and Raul Jiminez are joint 15/8 favourites. Ireland have failed to score in their last two games played and they aren’t a prolific side at the best of times, another factor which should keep the scoring down in this friendly.

Who will win – Mexico v Ireland Predictions

Mexico to win: The Mexicans have looked pretty solid through their World Cup Qualification campaign and with Ireland having bigger fish to fry on the 11th against Austria in World Cup Qualifying, they aren’t likely to be overly competitive.

Ireland v Iceland Prediction & Betting Tips – 28th March 2017

International Football Betting

Ireland v Iceland International Friendly, 28th March

After their draw with Wales in World Cup 2018 qualifying, which helped them far more than it did the Dragons, the Irish play hosts to Euro 2016 stars Iceland. Ireland are a tough side to beat on home soil and with the visitors going well in their qualification campaign to make it to Russia next season, this should be a pretty good spirited friendly. However, it is a friendly after all and that means that it probably won’t be a game stacked with goals. Ireland are only 5/4 to take the home win, with the draw at 2/1 and Iceland trading at 13.5 to take the win in Dublin.

One of the top football betting products around is Bet365’s 0-0 Bore Draw Insurance which they offer on all matches listed in their sportsbook. Place a pre-match correct score, scorecast or half time/full time wager on a match and if the game ends goalless then the bookmaker will refund lost stakes on the selected markets with a free bet. Ireland v Iceland Betting Tips

Ireland ground out a point at home against Wales in a game of pretty low quality over the weekend in World Cup 2018 qualifying. But it was a good point from them and leaves them in second place in Group D, but level on points with Serbia and with a four point cushion to the nearest nations behind them. Ireland have remained unbeaten in World Cup qualifying so far and they have only lost one of their last eight friendly matches to. So it’s not likely that they are going to suffer a defeat in this game which is probably going to be a low scoring affair. Under 2.5 goals at Bet365 returns a price of 1/2. The Irish are W4 D2 in their last six games and they have picked up a clean sheet in four of those six matches played. They are on a three match streak of clean sheets on home soil and Ireland to win to nil will return you a price of 9/4. There’s not a tremendous amount of appeal in the anytime goalscorer market, but Shane Long and Kevin Doyle are 2/1 joint favourites at Bet365.

Ireland have lost just two of their last ten matches overall and those were against France and Belgium at Euro 2016. Iceland caused waves at Euro 2016 with their great performances and they are sat in second place in their World Cup 2018 qualifying group and edged a win over Kosovo over the weekend. They aren’t in bad form overall and they have posted a W5 D1 L2 record in their last eight games played. They have a done a lot of travelling, with each of their last five games (six with this one) being away from home. Iceland have collected four clean sheets in their last six games, so again, an indicator that this will probably be a low scoring friendly. Vidar Orn Kjartansson is 5/2 and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson 11/2 Bet365 anytime goalscorer options for them. They are pretty much as solid as Ireland are and in the Bet365 correct score market a 1-1 draw is a price of 9/2 with the 0-0 draw just a little longer priced at 11/2.

Who will win – Ireland v Iceland Predictions

Draw: Look under 2.5 goals on this one. You have two, solid and competitive sides taking on each other and with this only being a friendly, it is probably going to peter out into a low-scoring affair. Iceland are good enough to go and hold their own in Dublin, so just look for a tame draw to crop up.

Ireland v Oman Prediction & Betting Tips – 31st August 2016

International Football Betting

Ireland v Oman International Friendly, 31st August

Well, not a high profile game of course, but it is one that is worth noting because it will signal the end of Irish legend Robbie Keane’s international career. He is set to bow out after this one and hang up his Irish boots. So a nostalgic night for Keane and the country really because they start life without him for World Cup 2018 qualifying. The Irish are unlikely to face much opposition in the form of Moan here and Keane may get the chance to sign off with another goal. Ireland are 2/9 for the win, with the draw at 9/2 and Oman at 14/1.

There are great football betting products available at online betting site Bet365. Go and open an account with them to start with and take a 100% matched deposit bonus from them to get up and running with. Then you will have access to some great products like 100% acca win bonuses, 0-0 bore draw insurance which applies to every match listed on their site, cash out and partial cash out bets and live streams. Bet365 show a lot of live sports including international soccer, which will of course, pair up nicely with live in-play betting!

Ireland v Oman Betting Tips

Robbie Keane then will be stepping away from the international scene at the age of 36 following Wednesday night’s intentional friendly against Oman. This will be his 146th cap for his country and his returns from those games in terms of goals is 67. The big question that everyone wants answered is whether or not he will be able to add to that tally by netting on his swansong? In the anytime goalscorer market there is a price of 4/7 on Keane netting a goal on the night while he can be backed to quote fo 2/1 in the First Goalscorer market. A big, big night for for Keane, but for Ireland as well in terms of looking ahead. This isn’t just the big night for Keane, this is some preparation work ahead of their opening World Cup qualifying fixture against Serbia away from home. The groundwork for confidence needs to be laid.

Ireland will be without Seamus Coleman, John O’Shea and James McCarthy for this one because of injury battles, but all three of them could still be in action in Belgrade on Monday evening. This is a game which Ireland should be winning at a canter without breaking too much of a sweat at all in it. Hopefully Keane will celebrate the night with a goal, but looking forward there is a chance for Shane Long and Jon Walters to show some confidence in front of goal as well. Ireland and Oman have together a couple of times in recent years for friendly matches. Their most recent meeting was at the Aviva Stadium with Ireland winning 2-0, adding to the 4-1 win they posted in the other meeting which was at Craven Cottage. Robbie Keane didn’t score in either of those game. An Ireland 2-0 Correct Score punt should be comfortable for your money at 4/1 here. A 3-0 win is an 11/2 punt.

So what of Oman then? Well they have gone with an even W2 D2 L2 record over their last six games. They have lost two of their last three though and those defeats came against Turkmenistan and Iran in World Cup qualifiers. On top of that, during their Tour of Ireland, they have been held to draws against League of Ireland sides Cork and Limerick recently as well. So they aren’t going to be stiff opposition for Ireland by any stretch of the imagine really as the quality just is not there from them. Both teams to score in the match doesn’t look to likely and in the over/under 2.5 goals market for Ireland v Oman betting you have a price of 4/5 on the game going under the goal line. Meanwhile Ireland to win to nil will return you a price of 8/13 with online betting site Bet365.

Who will win – Ireland v Oman Predictions

Ireland should be comfortable in this one but there is no need to go out and over extend themselves at all. They have a hugely tricky game out in Serbia coming on Monday and they need to save something for that. So seeing the Irish win this one to nil looks pretty sound value and everyone would want to cash in on Robbie Keane getting on the scoresheet, right?
