Stoke v Fulham Championship Preview, 19th October 3.00pm

Stoke shed a little bit of doom and gloom as they won their first game of the season just before the international break. Can they start to build on that now and find a way to claw themselves off the bottom of the table? Fulham are hovering on the outskirts of the top six, currently on a good undefeated streak of form. Read our Stoke v Fulham betting tips for more.

Stoke v Fulham Betting Odds*

Stoke 15/8
Draw 23/10
Fulham 7/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 15th, 2019 at 7:25 p.m.)

Stoke News and Form

Finally, it happened. Stoke earned a 2-1 upset win at Swansea in their final game before the international break. That was their first win of the season which now leaves them at W1 D2 L8 for this campaign. They are still stuck to the bottom of the Championship table. The Potters have taken a beating defensively, as one would imagine for a bottom of the table team. Stoke have conceded an average of 2 goals per fixture this season, shipping a total of 13 in six home games.

Their home record sits at a miserable D1 L5 at the moment, with no clean sheet. Four of the five home defeats they have suffered at the Bet365 Stadium have been by a margin of just one goal. 9 of the 13 goals that the Potters have conceded on home soil this season have come in the second half of fixtures. The Staffordshire club needs a huge lift and have only opened the scoring in three of their eleven games this season. Can they deliver their first home win?

Stoke v Fulham Head to Head

Stoke have won the last two meetings against Fulham
This will be the first clash in the league since the 2014 EPL
Both teams have scored in just one of the last five meetings
Five of the last six meetings have produced a home win

Fulham News and Form

The Potters are undefeated in their last six league games and hold an overall W5 D4 L2 return from this campaign. They lost their opening away game of the season out at Barnsley. But they have remained undefeated on the road since then, taking a W2 D2 record in their other four road games. The two wins that they have recorded on their travels happened against Huddersfield and Reading who are currently sat down in the bottom four.

So the Cottagers will be looking to deliver against the bottom side as well. Fulham are averaging 1.8 goals per fixture this season in the league. However they have managed to take only the one clean sheet in their last seven played. Overall this season, Fulham have scored in all but one of their league fixtures and have netted at least two goals in each of their last three played. The Cottagers have opened the scoring in seven of their eleven games in this campaign. Only two teams in the division have scored more league goals than Fulham have.

Stoke v Fulham Tips & Odds

Away win at 7/5
Over 2.5 goals at even money
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 15th, 2019 at 7:25 p.m.)

Who will win – Stoke v Fulham Predictions

Stoke earned themselves a bright moment last time out, but they could be brought back down to earth with a bit of a bump. Fulham have the scoring power in them, averaging almost two goals per game, to go and get themselves the win at the Bet365 Stadium. Away win.

Fulham v Wigan Prediction & Betting Tips, 27th September 2019

Championship Betting

Fulham v Wigan Championship Preview, 27th September 7.45pm

The Cottagers have not clicked as well as they were expected to do in the Championship this season. They have slipped back to a four-match winless streak of form. They will welcome Wigan to Craven Cottage on Friday night. The Latics bagged just their second win of the season last weekend. Read our Fulham v Wigan betting tips for more.

Fulham v Wigan Betting Odds*

Fulham 9/20
Draw 16/5
Wigan 13/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 25th, 2019 at 11:35 p.m.)

Fulham News and Form

The Cottagers find themselves on a three-match sequence of drawn games. Those were all 1-1 results as well. Overall it is a four-match winless streak of form from them at the moment in the Championship. Pre-season they had been pegged as one of the favourites for promotion. Their home record in the second tier is W2 D1 L1 so far. Their first loss on home soil this season came in a 2-1 reverse against Nottingham Forest.

Fulham have scored in all of their home games and in each of their last seven home and away. Only 38% of Fulham’s league games this season have made it over 2.5 goals. The two home victories which they have recorded have both been by a margin of at least two goals. Another trend with them is that they have been leading at halftime in two of their four played at Craven Cottage. Fulham netted the opening goal in five of their eight Championship games.

Fulham v Wigan Head to Head

Fulham have remained unbeaten in their last eight home games against Wigan
The last time they met was in the 2016/17 Championship
Three of the last four meetings have gone over 3.5 goals
Four of the last five meetings have ended in a draw

Wigan News and Form

The Latics gave themselves a nice boost last weekend with a 2-0 success over Charlton. That moved them onto a three-match undefeated streak of form (W1 D2). That upturn in form came after a four match losing streak that they had been on, in which they had scored only one goal. Away from home Wigan are D1 L3 from their four played and have no clean sheet on the road.

Wigan have conceded the opening goal in four of their eight league games this season. They have been losing at half time in five of their eight. Heading into the next round of action, there are only three teams in the division who have conceded more goals than Wigan have. This is not going to be an easy trip to Craven Cottage for them. They would be delighted you would imagine, to come away with a draw. Wigan have won only one of their last 25 away games in the Championship.

Fulham v Wigan Tips & Odds

To win to nil – Fulham at 13/8
Fulham/Fulham HT/FT at 6/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 25th, 2019 at 11:35 p.m.)

Who will win – Fulham v Wigan Predictions

This is a big chance for Fulham to get some momentum going again. They have been missing the mark recently but should carve out chances against Wigan less than rock-solid defence. The Cottagers can do enough to keep the visitors off the scoreboard. Fulham to win to nil.

Fulham v West Brom Championship Preview, 14th September 12.30pm

The Cottagers are sitting inside the top six, but they have managed to take just one point from their last two games. So they will be looking to rebuild after the international break. They get a tough game though as the unbeaten West Brom pay a visit to Craven Cottage, the Baggies starting in the top six also. Read our Fulham v West Brom betting tips for more.

Fulham v West Brom Betting Odds*

Fulham even money
Draw 5/2
West Brom 13/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2019 at 12:31 p.m.)

Fulham News and Form

Just when Fulham looked to be getting things together with a three-match winning streak going, it fell apart a little for them just before the international break. They suffered a home loss against Nottingham Forest before being held to a 1-1 draw at Cardiff. That leaves the Cottagers, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, with a W3 D1 L2 record in this season’s Championship.

Incidentally, the loss against Forest snapped an 18 match undefeated streak of home form in the second tier that Fulham were on. A positive is that they have scored seven goals in their three home games (W2 L1) and their loss at Barnsley on the opening weekend is the only game in which they have failed to score.

The Cottagers have opened the scoring in two of their three home games. Fulham have also been leading at half time in two of their three at Craven Cottage this season. Top scorer for the Cottagers is Aleksandar Mitrovic with five goals already.

Fulham v West Brom Head to Head

This is the first meeting since the 2013/14 Premier League
Four of the last six meetings have ended in a draw
Fulham are unbeaten in their last seven games against West Brom (W3 D4)
The Cottagers are undefeated in their last twelve home fixtures against West Brom

West Brom News and Form

West Brom were expected to be one of the leading contenders for promotion to the top flight this season. Just like Fulham. They have looked the part for that as well with an unbeaten W3 D3 record under their belt. So a very solid start has been made by the Baggies who have taken a W2 D1 record away from home. Their two wins away from the Hawthorns were by a 2-1 scoreline over Nottingham Forest and Luton. Their draw came in 1-1 results against Derby in their last road game.

Both teams have scored in all six of West Brom’s league games this season, so that’s a decent betting trend to look at. All three of West Brom’s goals which they have conceded away from home have been in the first half of matches. Despite their unbeaten start to this season, West Brom have managed to open the scoring in just one of their six games. In each of their three road games, they conceded the opening goal inside the first fifteen minutes of action. They clearly have something to work on there.

Fulham v West Brom Tips & Odds

Outright Draw at 5/2

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2019 at 12:31 p.m.)

Who will win – Fulham v West Brom Predictions

This is going to be an interesting game because both of these have goals in them. That makes it a pretty tough game to call because both look likely to concede as well. The best option that we can see is the draw in the match outright. Neither look like losing.

Cardiff v Fulham Championship Preview, 30th August 7.45pm

Both Cardiff and Fulham took a tumble from the Premier League last term. Cardiff will be looking for more home joy this season in the Championship as that is where their two wins for the new campaign have been produced. Fulham had a three-match winning streak snapped last weekend as they were toppled at Craven Cottage by Nottingham Forest. Read our Cardiff v Fulham betting tips for more.

Fulham 31/20
Cardiff 7/4
Draw 11/5
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 27th, 2019 at 7:52 p.m.)

Cardiff News and Form

Cardiff have won their two league home games this season, both 2-1 successes over Luton and Huddersfield. So will the Bluebirds be able to keep their momentum going?. Their overall record for the season in the Championship is W2 D1 L2. They played out a 0-0 draw at Blackburn on the weekend which was their first clean sheet of the new campaign.

So the betting trends are there with the 2-1 scoreline, Cardiff scoring exactly 2 goals and both of their home games going over 2.5 goals. All but one of the six goals that have been produced in Cardiff’s home games this season have been scored in the second half of matches. In last season’s Premier League, Cardiff claimed a 4-2 home victory over the Cottagers and if they were to win this latest meeting they would jump above Fulham by a point.

Cardiff v Fulham Head to Head

Each of the last three meetings in Wales have gone over 3.5 goals
The two traded home wins in the Premier League last season
Fulham have lost one of their last 9 against Cardiff in all competitions
Both teams have scored in all but one of the last nine meetings

Fulham News and Form

Fulham will start the new weekend of Championship action sitting in fifth place in the table. It has been a W3 L2 record produced by the Cottagers this season in the second tier. They were on a three-match winning streak before being toppled at home by Nottingham Forest last weekend. That was something of a surprise and it creates a bit of pressure on them now for this fixture.

They did come up with a good winning response after losing their opening game of the season at Barnsley. That is one win and one defeat which Fulham have taken on the road this season, their success happening against another of last season’s relegated Premier League teams, Huddersfield. Each of those last three Championship games for Fulham have gone over 2.5 goals.

Who will win – Cardiff v Fulham Predictions

Cardiff, albeit by the narrowest of margins, have delivered at home the season in the Championship. With Fulham having a wobble last time out, there may be a bit of value in backing the Bluebirds to follow up on last season’s home win over the Cottagers.

Fulham News and Form

The Cottagers have gone W3 L2 in their Championship campaign so far. They suffered a surprise home lose against Nottingham Forest on the weekend. Before that they had put together a three-match winning streak, scoring at least two goals in each of those games.

Fulham made it to the fourth round of last season’s EFL Cup, getting knocked out by Man City. It leaves the Cottagers with a W3 L3 record in their last six League Cup games. They have lost two of their last three at home.

Southampton News and Form

The Saints finally got their season up and going on the weekend. That was with a 2-0 away win in the Premier League against Brighton. They had lost their opening two games of the season. With their early-season struggles, what will boss Ralph Hasenhuttl do here? Give his main crop of players more playing time or rest them?

The Saints have lost three of their last five EFL Cup games. Their last two have both gone to penalties, the Saints beating Everton in a shootout in last season’s third round, before then losing to Leicester in the next round. Southampton have scored just two goals in their last four EFL Cup games, total.

Fulham News and Form

Well, it didn’t take Fulham too long to find their footing. They started the season with a 1-0 loss at Barnsley. That was a heavy blow to kick things off following their Premier League relegation last season. But they have received so very well, winning their following three games. The Hatters scored at least two goals in each of those three successes as well.

Following wins over Blackburn and Huddersfield, Fulham hosted Millwall in midweek and took a resounding 4-0 win. Ivan Cavaleiro has three goals in his last two games for them. Aleksandar Mitrovic is now on a three-match scoring streak. Given that their two home games have produced 2-0 and 4-0 wins for Fulham, it’s little surprise that they are strong favourites for this.

Fulham v Nottingham Forest Head to Head

Fulham beat Forest twice in the 2017/18 Championship
The Cottagers are on a three-match winning streak against Forest
Four of the last six meetings have produced at least three goals
Both teams have scored in all but one of the last five

Nottingham Forest News and Form

Forest suffered a loss in their opening game of the season too. They went down 2-1 at home against West Brom. But they too have been on the road to recovery, stringing together a three-match undefeated streak of form (W1 D2). In midweek they played out a 1-1 draw at the newly-promoted Charlton.

That is 1-1 score lines in both of Nottingham Forest’s away games in the Championship this season. Those were against sides who are starting the weekend up in the top five (Leeds and Charlton). A positive for Forest is that they have scored in all four games. They have taken just the one clean sheet though. The Tricky Trees have yet to be leading at half time away from home this season (D1 L1).

Fulham 8/13
Draw 29/10
Millwall 9/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 20th, 2019 at 9:40 p.m.)

Fulham News and Form

The Cottagers opened with 1-0 loss out at Barnsley, not what they wanted after suffering relegation from the Premier League last season. But to their credit, Scott Parker’s men have fought back really well to take back to back wins over Blackburn and Huddersfield.

The win over Blackburn was their only home game so far with their next two league outings coming at Craven Cottage, this is a good chance for them to build some bigger momentum. Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored in Fulham’s last two games so has hit a bit of form. If they can take any positives away from their relegation at the end of last season, it was that all but one of the seven wins that they recorded the last term were at Craven Cottage.

Fulham v Millwall Head to Head

This is the first league meeting since the 2017/18 Championship
Both teams have scored in just one of the last six league meetings
Fulham are W2 D1 L1 in four previous Championship games against Millwall
Just one of the last six league meetings have gone over 2.5 goals

Millwall News and Form

It has been a strong start by Millwall with seven points from their three games so far. Considering that they only finished one place above the drop zone last season in the Championship, this has been a wonderful turn around from them. The two wins that Millwall have taken this season in the league were both at The Den.

In their one away game, they picked up a very good point out at West Brom. That’s all three of their league games this season going under 2.5 goals and Matt Smith has scored their last two Championship goals. The Lions had a tough time of things on the road in the last campaign, taking just a W3 D5 L15 record.

Fulham v Millwall Tips & Odds

Who will win – Fulham v Millwall Predictions

This should be a really good game with both teams having started so well. The impetus will all be on Fulham to come out and collect the victory. Millwall are in good enough defensive form to make him work hard for it. However, a home win still looks likely.

While Fulham managed to get their first win of the season last weekend, the Terriers are still looking for their first. Read our Huddersfield v Fulham betting tips for more.

Huddersfield v Fulham Betting Odds*

Fulham 6/4
Huddersfield 15/8
Draw 9/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 13th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Huddersfield News and Form

The Terriers opened the new season with a 1-2 loss on home soil against Derby. Not the start that they would have wanted having dropped down a tier. But they rallied themselves to some extent to collect a 1-1 draw at QPR last weekend. So at least they are off the mark. Both of the league goals that the Terriers have scored this season have been converted penalty kicks by Karlan Ahearne-Grant.

Huddersfield finish bottom of the Premier League last season, winning just three fixtures the entire campaign. Two of those three were at home (W2 D3 L14). One of them was a 1-0 success over Fulham as well, so they can at least look to that for some confidence. If you take last season into consideration it is a twelve match sequence of league games for Huddersfield now without a win (D3 L9). There may be a tough road ahead for Jan Siewert’s men this season.

Huddersfield v Fulham Head to Head

The two traded 1-0 home wins last season
Fulham have won three of the last four against the Terriers
Huddersfield have won only one of the last 13 meetings
Fulham are W2 D1 from their three previous Championship visits to the John Smith’s Stadium

Fulham News and Form

The Cottagers did not come out of the gates this season in winning form as was expected. They slipped to a 1-0 away loss at Barnsley. But they got themselves up and running last weekend with a comfortable 2-0 home success over Blackburn. So Scott Parker’s men are on the way and will be looking for some returns from this. Fulham remain one of the promotion favourites in the second tier for this campaign.

It was Fulham’s defence which failed them so badly in the top flight last season. They conceded a total of 81 goals. On their travels they did win just the one game which was out at Bournemouth in their penultimate road fixture of the season. After their loss at Barnsley on the opening weekend of this new season, Fulham have lost 9 of their last 10 league away games. But they do have a pretty decent run of head to head form going against the Terriers.

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 7th, 2019 at 6:46 p.m.)

Fulham News and Form

It was a 1-0 hit that the Cottagers took away from home at Barnsley last weekend. They conceded the only goal of the game in the 13th minute and they just couldn’t come up with an equaliser. The Cottagers are one of the promotion favourites in the Championship this season. They did have their chances in the game including a couple of efforts cleared off the line. But after their many defensive problems in the Premier League last season, boss Scott Parker won’t have been happy with his backline.

They were sloppy again and conceded a lot of chances. Fulham do have a good squad including Tom Cairney, Ivan Cavaleiro and Aleksandar Mitrovic. They’ll probably come good and three points on the weekend in their home opener would settle some nerves. Of the seven wins that the Cottagers earned in the Premier League last season, six of them were on home soil.

Fulham v Blackburn Head to Head

This will be the first meeting since the 2016/17 Championship
Fulham earned four points from the last two league meetings with Rovers
The Cottagers have lost just one of their last six home games against Blackburn
Four of the last five meetings have gone over 2.5 goals

Blackburn News and Form

Rovers were a little worse off last weekend than Fulham, insomuch as they also lost, but their defeat was on home soil. Blackburn went down 2-1 against the visiting Charlton. Rovers were bottom half finishers in last season’s campaign and didn’t put together the greatest form out on the road. Their away record from the last term was W6 D5 L12 only. They won three of their last four on the road though.

You look at where they had their away struggles and it was against the better clubs. Blackburn won just one away game against teams who finished in the top twelve. Part of the reason why they struggled so much was because of a poor defence. They conceded at an average of over two goals per away game, which was in stark contrast to their home defensive record where they averaged under a goal per game against them. 74% of Blackburn’s away games last season made it over 2.5 goals.

Fulham v Blackburn Tips & Odds

The Cottagers should get on the gas back on home soil. They just never quite clicked on the road last weekend, their strike force not getting into the game. You would expect better from them this weekend and are taking on a Blackburn side who had some major problems away from home the last term. Home win.

Barnsley v Fulham Championship Preview, 3rd August 3.00pm

This will be a fascinating clash in the Championship on Saturday. Fulham were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season. Barnsley meanwhile were battling their way to automatic promotion from League One. It will be really interesting to see who comes out as the top dog in this battle at Oakwell. Barnsley News and Form

Barnsley had such a fantastic time in League One last season, losing just two games from mid-December through to the end of the season. The Tykes did superbly at Oakwell, so they may well be confident of getting something out of this fixture. They were W15 D8 L0 last season at home in the league. It was their defence which was one of the real highlights of their season.

They banked a clean sheet in 43% of league games at Oakwell. Their pre-season is done with a W4 L1 record, the only loss happening against Sheffield United. The Tykes were pretty free-scoring in the pre-season. There has been a big shakeup in the squad with a lot of new players coming in as they look to at the very least sustain their new position in the second tier. Barnsley were only relegated from the Championship at the end of the 2017/18 season so come straight back up.

Barnsley v Fulham Head to Head

This will be the first meeting since the 2017/18 Championship
Fulham took a win in both of the meetings that season
The Tykes lead the overall head to head 31-26 with 23 draws
Barnsley are winless in six against the Cottagers (D1 L5)

Fulham News and Form

So Fulham’s season in the top flight went just about as poorly as it could have gone. After such a strong season in earning automatic promotion to get up there, coupled with a big summer spending spree, so much more was expected of the Hatters in the Premier League. But they fell flat because of a shockingly poor defensive effort. The Cottagers finished second from bottom in the Championship, shipping a total of 81 goals in a W7 D5 L26 record.

They sacked Slivisa Jokanovic in November and brought in Claudio Ranieri. He was sacked in February 2019. Then Scott Parker took temporary charge until the end of the season and was then handed the job on a full-time basis. So the one positive out of that could be Parker’s appointment as he seemed as if he was starting to get the club back together a bit. There has been little action from them in the transfer market so far this summer, it’s pretty much as they were the last term.

Barnsley v Fulham Tips & Odds

Who will win – Barnsley v Fulham Predictions

Such a tough game to call between two teams who were so far apart in the league standings last season. Fulham don’t look as if they will have much changed about them. Barnsley were competitive last season, especially at Oakwell and it may just be worth having a look at the draw as the main option.
