Fulham are still in dire straights in the relegation zone, kicking things off on the weekend eight points from safety. That’s a tremendous amount of ground to make up and getting anything out of Manchester United may not be easy. The Red Devils got back to winning ways last weekend with a victory over Leicester. Man Utd 4/7
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 5th, 2019 at 11:38 p.m.)
Fulham suffered a comprehensive 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace last time out and remain in heaps of trouble. That is four defeats in their last five games played now (W1). They have won two of their last three home games though, so that is positive. Those wins were over Huddersfield and Brighton. The Cottagers have a home record of W4 D3 L5 this season and none of the four wins in that sequence have been against any side in the top half of the table. Fulham are actually P8 L8 against sides currently in the top six this season (home and away).
Fulham have scored 17 home goals, conceding 23. A third of their home games have made it over 2.5 goals. The Cottagers are on a four-match scoring streak at home, helping them to a W2 D1 L1 record in that sequence. So there has been an improvement from them. They only have one home clean sheet behind them this season. Fulham have the worst defensive record in this season’s top flight.
Fulham are winless in eleven matches against Man Utd (all competitions)
Five of the last six meeting have gone over 3.5 goals
United are on a three-match winning streak at Craven Cottage
Both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings
Things are going swimmingly for Manchester United with a W7 D1 record in their last eight league games. The Red Devils picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win at Leicester last weekend. That was actually a big test of character for them. Each of their last three league victories have been by a one-goal margin only. United have taken a clean sheet in three of their last five games, each of those appearing in away fixtures.
Manchester United are on a four-match winning streak on their travels, with a clean sheet in each of their last three. Overall this season they have picked up a W7 D2 L4 record on their travels in the top flight. They are W3 D1 in their four away games played against current bottom six sides. Manchester United have scored in all thirteen away games this season and interestingly, of the goals they have conceded on their travels, 63% have been before the half time break.
Hard to see Fulham getting much change out of a confident Manchester United. The Red Devils look good value to collect a win. Fulham have to go for it so Man Utd to win & both teams to score.

Crystal Palace got themselves a good point on the board as they made a visit to Southampton in midweek. That keeps them just out of trouble above the drop zone but there is only a four-point cushion between themselves and 18th-place Cardiff. Fulham produced a tremendous performance to get three points in midweek. Read our Crystal Palace v Fulham betting tips for more.
Crystal Palace 10/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on January 29th, 2019 at 4:59 p.m.)
Crystal Palace will step back into action without the services of Wilfred Zaha who picked up a red card in a draw against Southampton in midweek. The point saw Crystal Palace snap back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, but it does leave them with just one victory in their last six played. At Selhurst Park this season, Crystal Palace hold a W2 D3 L6 record.
In their home games, the Eagles have only come up with the six goals in total all season. Fortunately, their defence has been pretty rock solid as they have conceded exactly an average of a goal per game at home. Just 18% of Crystal Palace’s home games this season have gone over 2.5 goals. Palace are winless in their last three home league games, having lost their last two against Chelsea and Watford their both by a one-goal margin.
Overall this season, Crystal Palace have earned a clean sheet in three home fixtures. Incidentally, four of Crystal Palace’s six losses this season have been by a one-goal margin. Palace have only been trailing at the halftime break in one home fixture this season.
Of the 11 goals which they have conceded in their home campaign, all but one of them have been after the halftime break. Huddersfield, who are rock bottom of the table, and the only side in the top flight to have a worse home record than Palace. The Eagles are also the fourth low scoring side in this season’s top flight.
Crystal Palace were 2-0 winners at Fulham back in August
In the five previous EPL meetings, things are even with two wins each
Fulham have won two of their last three trips to Selhurst Park
Three have been an average of 3.4 goals per game over the last five clashes
What a second half Fulham produced at home against Brighton on Tuesday night. The Cottagers looked down and out at half-time trailing the Seagulls 2-0. But few would have predicted the second half performance that Fulham managed to come up with. The Cottagers fired off four goals in the second half to claim victory. Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic got himself a brace in the game.
It was a massively dramatic turnaround and it at least gave the London side a boost in terms of their survival hopes. There is still a long way to go for them to get out of the bottom three though. Although they do have a bit of home form behind them, they also need to start collecting points on their travels.
Fulham go into this one having lost back-to-back away games against Arsenal and Burnley. The Cottagers have taken only one point from their last nine away fixtures. They have only managed to come up with eight away goals this season, but the positive that they can take is that they have scored in both of their last two.
67% of Fulham’s away fixtures in the EPL this season have ended up over 2.5 goals. Fulham are looking for just their second clean sheet of the season on their travels. The Cottagers have been trailing at the halftime break in eight of their 12 only games. It has been just two points from 12 road fixtures for them this season.
Palace can take advantage of being at home against the Cottagers who still look shaky at the back. The Cottagers may have enough to get on the scoreboard in this one, but should still fall short. Palace to win & both teams to score.

The Cottagers are now in heaps of trouble down in the relegation zone. Last time out in the League they were denied a point as they conceded a late goal at home against Tottenham. That was their third defeat in a row. Fulham have won just one of the last 10 League fixtures now, losing six in that sequence. The overall home record of Fulham is W3 D3 L5 this season and in those fixtures, they have tallied 13 goals. They have struggled defensively having conceded an average of 1.9 goals per game against at Craven cottage.
There has been only the one home clean sheet by Fulham this season and 45% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals. One small positive is that they are on a three-match scoring streak at home in the top flight and of the goals that they have produced a home, 62% have been in the first half of games. Fulham have actually opened the scoring in five of their 11 home fixtures. With 51 goals against them this season in the top flight, Fulham have the worst defensive record of all teams.

Brighton are undefeated in their last six games against Fulham, winning four of those
Fulham have lost their last three home games against Brighton
Six of their last seven meetings have ended over 2.5 goals
Brighton’s current form doesn’t read great but they have been through a couple of tough fixtures. They have lost back-to-back games but those were against Liverpool and Manchester United. The Seagulls have only taken one win in their last eight Premier League outings though, losing five of those. So there are just go through a rough patch at the moment. Overall this season away from home Brighton have taken just the two victories in a W2 D2 L8 record. Only the current bottom three have worse away records than that of Brighton’s.
Brighton have struggled in front of goal away from home having only scored 10 in total. They have conceded 20 goals in their 12 away games. Brighton have collected just one point from their last four out on the road, and have won just one of their last seven away fixtures. 50% of away games that Brighton had been involved in have ended over 2.5 goals. Brighton have earned one clean sheet away from home all season and haven’t taken one in any of their last seven on the road. Brighton have actually conceded a least two goals in each of their last three away games.
Things just are not happening for Fulham not matter what they try, and they may struggle to get the win on the board in this one. Brighton have been poor on the road but they should be a able to earn a valuable point in this one at Craven Cottage. Draw

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on 3rd January 2019 at 11:43 p.m.)
It has been a season of struggles for Fulham as they have failed to really adapt too well to life in the Premier League. It’s rarely an easy transition for sides promoted from the Championship. They are still in the relegation zone in the top flight and an FA Cup run isn’t likely to be top of their priorities this season. The Cottagers have only picked up the two wins in their last eight games in all competitions on home soil.
One of those was in their last home fixture, Fulham getting a 1-0 win over Huddersfield. That was just their second home clean sheet of the season. Their first was in an EFL Cup win over Exeter back in August. Their lack of clean sheets is what could just make this FA Cup tie interesting. Fulham are W1 D3 L4 in their last eight games so there are obviously elements of vulnerability there.
So is there a way into this tie for Oldham. They are underdogs so have nothing to lose against a top flight team. Even with Fulham’s lack of form this season, Oldham are big underdogs. Oldham have won their last two games played so have a bit of momentum going. They have posted a W5 L3 record in their last eight games across all competitions. They started in the first round of the FA and to get here they took back to back away wins over Hampton and then Maidstone.
Oldham scored exactly two goals in both of those games. Away from Boundary Park this season they have won four of their last seven on the road (D1 L2). This is going to be their most difficult away game of the season though obviously. Last season they were beaten in the first round of the FA Cup, so it’s been a lot better for them. This will be the first meeting between Fulham and Oldham since 1999. Their one and only FA Cup match was back in 1983 with Fulham winning 2-0 at Boundary Park.
It should be Fulham getting through this on home soil. They are probably going to be able to find enough to post the victory and as they are favourites, it may be worth looking at them to win to nil against their League One opponents. Fulham to win to nil at 6/5 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on 3rd January 2019 at 11:43 p.m.)

The Cottagers are now just the one point from safety
In their last away game, they took a 0-0 draw at Newcastle
That was just their second away point of the season (D2 L8)
In total, they have only come up with the six goals on their travels this season
They have conceded an average of 2.4 goals per away game though
The 0-0 draw at Newcastle was Fulham’s first clean sheet of the term
They now have two clean sheets in their last three

Newcastle lifted themselves with three points out at second-from-bottom Huddersfield last weekend. That was a good three points for the Magpies who now play host to bottom side Fulham this weekend. After a home defeat against West Ham last weekend the Cottagers remain in heaps of trouble. Read our Newcastle v Fulham betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 18th, 2018 at 1:37 p.m.)
Newcastle collected a very good three points for themselves last weekend out on the road at Huddersfield. That haul of points left the Magpies four points clear of the relegation zone. It also snapped a three-match winless streak of form that they had been on in the top flight. Their form at St James’ Park is W2 D0 L7 in the Premier League this season. In that sequence of games, the Magpies have come up with seven goals. Despite that low tally still 67% of their fixtures at St James’ Park have gone over 2.5 goals.
It’s just the one home clean sheet from Newcastle this season and they have lost their last two on home soil. Those were defeats against West Ham and Wolves. Newcastle have conceded 15 goals in their nine home games. Both teams have scored in 56% of league games at St James’ Park this season. They have found themselves leading at the half time break in just one home game this season. Three points for Newcastle at home on the weekend would put further distance between themselves and one of the teams beneath them.
This is the first meeting since the 2016/17 Championship season
Fulham are on a three-match winning streak against the Magpies
Newcastle have won three of their last four home games against Fulham (L1)
Both teams have scored in just one of the last five meetings
Four of the last five meetings have produced a 1-0 home win
The Cottagers lost 2-0 at home against West Ham last time out and remain in a whole world of trouble at the foot of the table. They have lost their last two Premier League games and now are D1 L3 in their last four played. So there has been little change of fortunes since Claudio Ranieri arrived. They have lost their two away fixtures in the top flight under the Italian so far, but they were tough games at Chelsea and Manchester United to be fair. They still look to be a mess defensively. Fulham are still looking for their first away win of the season, holding a D1 L8 record from nine road games.
The Cottagers have produced only the six goals on the road so far while their defence has taken a beating. They have conceded 24 goals (2.67 average per game) away from Craven Cottage. It is no great surprise that they haven’t earned a clean sheet on their travels yet this term. They have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three away games. In their last four have games, Fulham have only produced the one goal, which was from the penalty spot against Manchester United. The Cottagers have been trailing at half time in two-thirds of their away games as well. In six of their nine away games, Fulham have also been losing at halftime
The Magpies to get themselves a home win does look a good proposition here. Fulham just aren’t there with their quality and after their win at Huddersfield last weekend, the Magpies should be able to deliver three points against the Cottagers.
