The first leg of this third qualifying round tie in the Europa League was pretty intriguing. Rangers take a 4-2 advantage back to Ibrox with them. So they are carrying and advantage, but the Danish side look capable of raising a challenge. Read our Rangers v FC Midtjylland betting tips for more.
FC Midtjylland 4/1

It has been a pretty good start to the new season by Rangers. Not only have they won their opening two games of the new Scottish top-flight season, but they have made progress in the Europa League. They took a 1-0 lead at the half time break out in Denmark in the first leg of this contest. Then things went crazy. Rangers found themselves 3-0 up, but less than ten minutes later had been pegged back to 3-2. Rangers managed to get another on the board to extend their advantage again.
That is a W6 D1 record that the Gers have taken this season in all competitions. Both teams have scored in each of their last three games played so that’s worth considering as a betting option. Rangers have netted at a total of 14 goals in their three games played at Ibrox this season. Their Europa League campaign started with a 10-0 aggregate win over St Josephs before a 2-0 aggregate win over Progres Niedercorn. There will just be some concern over their defence, but they seem to have their goal-scoring flowing well. Rangers are W6 D3 in their last nine Europa League home games.
The first leg of his tie was the first meeting between the two clubs
For starters, Midtjylland has netted in all six games that they have played this season across all competitions. So it will be interesting to see what they can come up with. They are W5 L1 in their six fixtures played this season. They came into the Europa League qualifiers at this third round stage, but they had played four games of the new Danish SAS Ligaen season before that, so had some match sharpness behind them.
They have a mixed record on the road in the Europa League. They have posted a W4 D2 L3 record in their last three qualification campaign away from home. It is worth noting though that they have scored at least two goals in each of their last five European away games. They are going to need at least three on the night to get through, so they can’t exactly sit back.
Hopefully, this is another fully entertaining game between these two. It looks as if the Danish side are carrying enough of an attacking threat to get themselves on the scoresheet at Ibrox. But still, we would expect Rangers to close out the deal.

Another high pressure game for Manchester United and boss Louis van Gaal. The Red Devils suffered an embarrassing loss out in Denmark last week and now have to try and turn things around back on home soil on Thursday night. The immense amount of injuries aren’t helping out their cause. Can the Danes dig in at Old Trafford and pull off something of a miracle for themselves by knocking out one of the biggest clubs in Europe? Manchester United are 1/4 to win the second leg, with the draw at 11/2 and FC Midtjylland at 14/1.

There weren’t too many punters who would have pictured Manchester United losing last week, certainly not having gone a goal up in the game. But they fell to a shock 2-1 first leg defeat in what was the first meeting between the two clubs. Memphis Depay had bundled in an opener for the Red Devils, but then the Danes hit back for the massive upset. United have played Danish opposition three times before at Old Trafford and have come away with an unbeaten W2 D1 record from those. Overall, home and away, the Red Devils have a W4 D1 L2 record against Danish teams. Can they avoid this banana skin?
Manchester United are unbeaten in nine games on home soil in Europe, winning seven of those too. So they are in pretty good shape. This is a competition in which they have never been past the quarter finals and even getting that far is in a bit of jeopardy here. Louis van Gaal has a big injury list to contend with as well but bookmakers are expecting the goals to follow with the game going over 2.5 goals trading at a price of 8/13. Incidentally if this gets as far as a penalty shoot out at Old Trafford, United have lost two of their three previous UEFA penalty shoot outs. Memphis Depay, whose shooting was woeful against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup is trading at 5/4 in the anytime gao core market but he has done much better in Europe than on the domestic front this season.
So can the Danish underdogs finish the job? Goals from Pione Sisto and Paul Onuachu turned the tie around for them a week ago. They are both around the 5/1 mark in the Sky Bet anytime goalscorer market to hit the back of the net again. Midtjylland have lost their last two European away games without scoring, conceding six goals in the process so those signs don’t look too good for them. They have been to Manchester though before, when they had to face Manchester City in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup second qualifying round. To many people’s surprise on that occasion the Danes came away with a 1-0 first leg win. Their record in England is W1 D1 L0 and overall against English sides they have a good W3 D1 L1 record.
Well you still have to side with Manchester United to weave their way through this tie which they have made so difficult for themselves. They have an away goal in the bag which will help their causes in getting through and they should be able to comfortably turn this tie around back at Old Trafford as the Danes haven’t been solid on the road.
