Europa League Betting

Lazio v Celtic Europa League Preview, 7th November 5.55pm

Following a 2-1 win at home against Lazio in the last round of action, Celtic are sitting top of Group E. It means that even a point out in Italy on Thursday night would leave Celtic in a very good position as Lazio are four points adrift of them. The Italians really need to make a move with only three points on the board. Read our Lazio v Celtic betting tips for more.

Lazio v Celtic Betting Odds*

Lazio 8/13
Draw 3/1
Celtic 9/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 6th, 2019 at 12:02 p.m.)

Lazio News and Form

Lazio are struggling with three points on the board from their three games played. Their campaign got off with a hiccup after they lost 2-0 against CFR Cluj. After picking up a home win over Rennes by a 2-1 scoreline, they were to taste defeat again as they paid a visit to Glasgow for the first time. That was Lazio’s first-ever game against a Scottish team. They had been ahead at the break thanks to Manuel Lazzari.

But they couldn’t hold on, conceding the telling blow in the 89th minute. They have a decent home record in the Europa League group stage do Lazio. They have are W15 D4 L3 from their previous such games. They were on a 17 match undefeated streak of home form in the group stage until they lost on Matchday Six against Eintracht Frankfurt last season. The Biancocelesti have qualified from the group stage in each of their last six UEFA Europa League group stage participations.

Lazio v Celtic Head to Head

The Matchday Three meeting was the first encounter between the two teams

Celtic News and Form

Celtic now are in a fantastic position in this group and draw out in Italy would suit them. They showed a decent bit of character to fight back on Matchday Three and get their win. Last season they lost five of eight matches in the UEFA Europa League. So they are doing much better this time around with seven points from three games. Both wins in this campaign happened at home, the first against Cluj and then against Lazio.

Out on the road they earned a 1-1 draw at Rennes. Celtic don’t have a great record against Italian opposition. Their win over Lazio was just their sixth from 26 previous fixtures. None of the six wins that Celtic have taken against Italian opposition have happened in Italy. Celtic’s record in Italy is a very poor D3 L9. In five of their last six visits there, they have come away with a defeat and not having scored. The one time they avoided defeat in that sequence was in a 1-1 draw against Udinese.

Lazio v Celtic Tips & Odds

Lazio to win to nil at 19/10
Under 2.5 goals at 8/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 6th, 2019 at 12:02 p.m.)

Who will win – Lazio v Celtic Predictions

Lazio need a response and Celtic do have a terrible away record in Italy and have netted just one goal in their last six visits there. So that paints a pretty clear picture and the home win to nil looks an appealing option for the game.

Rangers v Porto Prediction & Betting Tips, 7th November 2019

Europa League Betting

Rangers v Porto Europa League Preview, 7th November 8.00pm

Group G is very tight and Rangers are still well in the mix for a qualification spot. This is a huge home game for them. They are sat level on points with Porto and therefore a win on Matchday Four for the Gers would give them a huge leg-up in the qualification race. Can they get the job done at Ibrox? Read our Rangers v Porto betting tips for more.

Rangers v Porto Betting Odds*

Rangers 13/8
Draw 5/2
Porto 8/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 6th, 2019 at 12:02 p.m.)

Rangers News and Form

Rangers held out for a good point at Porto on Matchday Three. So if Rangers can make the most of home advantage now, it would give them a tremendous shot at qualification from this group. Rangers have drawn five of their last six games against Portuguese sides. They have won their last two home games against Porto at Ibrox, so they should at least be good enough to avoid defeat at the end of the day.

Rangers started this campaign with a 1-0 home win over Feyenoord but then suffered a defeat out at Young Boys. But they then held out well to get their point in Porto on Matchday Three. Rangers are undefeated at home against Portuguese sides, winning the first five and drawing their last two.

The Gers are running on a 14 match undefeated streak of European home form, winning five of them and conceding just five goals. They have a 100% record from five home European games this season. In their last 20 European home games, the Rangers have not conceded more than one goal in a fixture.

Rangers v Porto Head to Head

The last two meetings have ended in a 1-1 draws
Both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings
Rangers are W2 D2 L1 in the head to head with Porto
Porto are winless in three against Rangers

Porto News and Form

Porto started their campaign with a 2-1 home win against Young Boys, but then suffered a bit of a surprise loss out at Feyenoord in their second game. They have been to Scotland five times before in their history and from that, they have taken a W2 L3 record, with all three losses having been suffered in Glasgow. They at least need to avoid defeat in this latest visit to Glasgow or else they will have their backs against the wall in qualification.

The Dragons started in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers but were eliminated in the third round by Krasnodar. Since they lifted the Europa League trophy in 2011, the Portuguese side have played 13 Europa League matches. From that sequence of games, they have only taken three wins (D4 L6). Specifically in the group stage of the competition, Porto are W6 D2 L1 which makes for much better reading for them. They have taken three wins from their four previous group stage away games.

Rangers v Porto Tips & Odds

Rangers to win by a 1 goal margin at 10/3
Under 1.5 goals at 11/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 6th, 2019 at 12:02 p.m.)

Who will win – Rangers v Porto Predictions

This is probably going to be a tight and tense game and Rangers have a great defensive record on home soil in the group stage. This is one of their situations where really making the most of home advantage is going to be huge. Rangers to win by a 1 goal margin.

Guimaraes v Arsenal Europa League Preview, 6th November 8.00pm

It is Wednesday night Europa League action for Arsenal this week as they make the trip to Portugal to face Vitoria. The Gunners took a narrow win in an exciting home encounter with the Portuguese side on Matchday Three. Will the Premier League side be able to handle themselves out on the road? Read our Guimaraes v Arsenal betting tips for more.

Guimaraes v Arsenal Betting Odds*

Arsenal 23/20
Guimaraes 11/5
Draw 27/10
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 29th, 2019 at 6:35 p.m.)

Guimaraes News and Form

If Guimaraes lose this one then there is a chance that they will be eliminated from any chance of qualification. They do have a positive going for them in that they are undefeated in their three previous home games against English teams (W1 D2). They lost their one home game in this group stage so far, as they were beaten on home soil by Eintracht Frankfurt.

That snapped a six-match undefeated streak of home form that they had been on. That included their three home qualifying games to get to the group stage this season. This is their third appearance in the UEFA Europa League group stage and they are looking for their first-ever place in the knockout stages. That’s not too likely though as they have no points in this campaign yet.

Guimaraes v Arsenal Head to Head

The Matchday Three meeting was the first encounter between the two sides

Arsenal News and Form

Arsenal have taken one win in their six previous visits to Portugal (D2 L3). So their record there isn’t great. The one win that they took in that sequence came in last season’s win at Sporting CP. That snapped a three-match losing streak in Portugal that Arsenal were on. The Gunners opened this campaign out on the road where they took a 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Then with back to back home wins over Standard Liege and then Victoria, the Gunners are comfortable at the top of the group. They could lock down qualification with three points on Wednesday night. The Gunners were trailing 2-1 at home against Vitoria on Matchday Three before Nicolas Pepe fired in a couple of late free-kicks to get Arsenal maximum points. The overall away record of Arsenal in the Europa League is W10 D1 L4.

Guimaraes v Arsenal Tips & Odds

Who will win – Guimaraes v Arsenal Predictions

Vitoria have come up short in this group and while they will be fancying their chances against Arsenal’s defence, the Gunners have the quality here to collect the win. They will be pushing for that to secure qualification early. Arsenal to win & both teams to score.

Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade Europa League Preview, 7th November 8.00pm

The Red Devils go into Matchday Four top of Group L in the Europa League. They narrowly edged Partizan in Belgrade in the last round of action to leave themselves in a good position. Can they complete the double over the Serbians, who really need a win to haul themselves into the qualification picture? Read our Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade betting tips for more.

Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade Betting Odds*

Man Utd 2/5
Draw 10/3
Partizan Belgrade 17/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 5th, 2019 at 7:48 p.m.)

Manchester United News and Form

It is a two-point lead at the top of the group that Manchester hold after taking a 1-0 win at Partizan on Matchday Three. Anthony Martial got United’s goal from the penalty spot in the first half. The Red Devils, while they have not been scoring freely, have yet to concede in this group stage campaign. Manchester United are undefeated in their last ten Europa League home games (W8 D2).

They have taken four wins out of four in Europa League group stage matches. In all matches in the Europa League at all stages, Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 14 played. They are just four from the all-time record of 18 straight matches undefeated, set by Chelsea last season. Manchester United have hosted Serbian teams three times before at Old Trafford. They have won all three of them, each by a one-goal margin which seems like a good betting trend to back.

Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade Head to Head

This season’s meeting was the first since the 1996 European Champion Clubs’ Cup
The two traded home wins on that occasion
In none of the three previous meetings have both teams scored

Partizan Belgrade News and Form

With four points on the board from their three games played so far in Group L, Partizan really needs to dig out a win in this one to get themselves into a stronger position. A defeat would likely leave them struggling for qualification as they start the next round of action a point behind second-placed AZ Alkmaar who play bottom side Astana on Thursday. Partizan Belgrade have a pretty poor record in England.

From their eight previous visits to England, Partizan are W1 L7. In the UEFA Europa League group stage, Partizan have lost 10 of their 16 played (W3 D3). In a useless piece of information, the three wins that they took in that sequence were against teams whose names begin with the letter A. That includes their success at Matchday 2 over Astana. They have taken only the four wins from their 16 previous games against English teams (D1 L11). Their last trip to England was in 2014 which ended in a 1-0 loss against Spurs.

Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade Tips & Odds

Man Utd to win by a 1 goal margin at 12/5
1-0 Correct Score at 9/2

Who will win – Manchester United v Partizan Belgrade Predictions

The Red Devils have found a way to get the job done in the Europa League without great conviction or flair. They have a superb home record in the competition and we would expect that to continue. United to win to nil.

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 5th, 2019 at 7:48 p.m.)

Wolves News and Form

Can Wolves make it three wins in a row in the group? It was a 2-1 win in Bratislava that they took on Matchday Three to set themselves up in this good position. Considering that they lost their opening group stage game at home against Braga, it has been a good recovery by the Premier League side. This will be their first-ever home game against a Slovakian side and they will want to make it count.

Wolves won all six of their qualifiers this season to get to the group stage. Their Matchday One loss against Braga snapped a seven-match home winning streak that they were on in Europe since they lost to Spurs back in the 1972 UEFA Cup Final first leg. They are holding a two-point advantage over Bratislava so would really leave themselves in a commanding position if they complete the double. Diogo Jota is suspended for Wolves who have been level at half time in two of their three Europa League games.

Wolves v Slovan Bratislava Head to Head

The Matchday Three meeting was the first encounter between the two sides

Slovan Bratislava News and Form

Bratislava can’t afford a slip up in this one. They are W1 D1 L1 in the group so far. The Slovakian champions collected a home win over Besiktas on Matchday One and then came from behind twice to grab a 2-2 draw at Braga. So they have at least been delivering in front of goal which will keep a certain degree of confidence on their side. A win in the West Midlands would massively boost their qualification hopes.

They started this season in the Champions League qualifiers but lost in the first round on penalties to Sutjeska. But they battled their way through the Europa League qualifiers to reach the group stage for the third time. In their two previous group stage campaigns, Bratislava yielded just one point in both campaigns. Their Matchday One win over Besiktas saw them snap a nine-match losing streak in the competition. Their draw at Braga on Matchday Two snapped a six-match losing streak in group stage away games.

Bratislava have been scoring in the group, so it is worth having a look at both teams to score on the night. Still, Wolves look to be the ones with the extra quality and they should come up with the home win. Wolves to win & both teams to score.

Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma Europa League Preview, 7th November 8.00pm

After a 1-1 draw in Rome last time out, Monchengladbach and Roma will go at it once again. This could be a big one as well. A win for the Germans at home would blow this group wide open. They start at the bottom of the section, but only the three points behind the Italians. A win would move them above Roma. Can they pull it off? Read our Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma betting tips for more.

Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma Betting Odds*

Borussia Monchengladbach at even money
Draw at 14/5
Roma at 5/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 5th, 2019 at 7:48 p.m.)

Borussia Monchengladbach News and Form

Borussia Monchengladbach need a big night at home. They do have a W5 D8 L3 record against Italian teams. Five of the draws in that sequence have been in their last eight home games against such opposition. The Germans have only suffered one home loss against an Italian team before and that was on the last occasion when they hosted a club from Serie A. It was Fiorentina who won there in 2017.

The last time that the Foals beat an Italian side at home was in 1975. That is a five-match winless streak since then. Monchengladbach have failed to win any of their last six European home games (D3 L3) so they are struggling for form. They got their point at Roma in the last round of action thanks to an added-time penalty from Lars Stindl. After their opening 4-0 loss at home against Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga side then played out a 1-1 draw against Istanbul Basaksehir on Matchday Two.

Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma Head to Head

The Matchday Three fixture was the first meeting between the two sides

Roma News and Form

Roma are top of the section, but the group is still wide open. Three points in Germany would certainly leave them in a far more comfortable position. Roma have been to Germany 13 times before and they have lost ten of those (W2 D1) so that stat makes this game very interesting. The last four visits to Germany that Roma have made have all been in the Champions League and from that sequence, they took only a D1 L3 record.

They are holding a 14 match unbeaten streak of form in the UEFA Europa League group stage (W8 D6). The only loss out on the road in the group stage of this competition happened back on Matchday One in 2008, a 2-0 loss at Basel. Since then Roma have taken a W2 D4 record out on the road. Roma opened their campaign with a 4-0 win over Istanbul Basaksehir before taking a 1-1 draw at Austrian debutants Wolfsburg.

Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma Tips & Odds

Who will win – Borussia Monchengladbach v Roma Predictions

A very interesting game is this. Roma have no form in Germany. Monchengladbach just don’t have home form in the competition. So what will give? Well, in terms of desperation, it is the Germans who need something special out of this. That may just get them across the finish line. Home win.

Partizan’s points have come from a draw against AZ Alkmaar and then a victory at Astana. Partizan have played 15 previous games against English teams, and they are winless in their last four at home against English opposition (D1 L3). This is their first meeting with an English club since racing Newcastle in the 2003/04 Champions League qualifiers.

Partizan were third in the Serbian top filth last season and they have had a long European season already. They started in the third qualifying round. Their home record in the Europa League is W3 D1 and are unbeaten in 11 European games in Belgrade (W8 D3). They have claimed only the four victories from their previous 16 UEFA Europa League group stage home games, losing seven.

Manchester United News and Form

The Red Devils have come up with only one goal in their two Europa League matches this season. They played out an uninsured 1-0 home win over Astana and then produced an even flatter performance to play out a 0-0 draw against AZ Alkmaar. But they are on track for qualification with those four points in the bag. This is just the second group stage campaign in the tournament that the Red Devils have played in.

Three seasons ago it was their other one played and United went all the way and lifted the title. Out on the road in the Europa League, the Red Devils are W4 D3 L5 and are unbeaten in their last six away from Old Trafford (W3 D3). Home and away they are undefeated in 13 Europa League games. Slovan Bratislava News and Form

The Slovakian champions collected a 4-2 home win over Besiktas to kick off their campaign. They netted their last two in stoppage time in the fight. Then they had some work to do at Braga, as twice Slovan fought back from a goal behind to pick up a draw. That stand out is that they have been scoring goals, six in total in their two fixtures. Will they be able to trouble Wolves? Slovan have conceded exactly two goals in both group games so far.

Their win over Besiktas snapped a huge nine-match losing streak in Europa League group stage games that Slovan were on. To be fair their most recent campaign before this was back in 2010/11. Slovan’s record at home against English teams is W2 D2 L1 and have lost all five of their visits to England. Slovan have taken a win in 10 of their 14 European home games (D3 L1).

Wolves News and Form

Wolves were upset on home soil in their Europa League group stage debut as they crashed against Braga. But they were able to redeem themselves as they made the trip to Istanbul to face Besiktas in their second game. Willy Boly popped up with a late goal for them to give Wolves a previous 1-0 win.

That maintained Wolves’ winning streak on the road in Europe this season, making it four wins from four (including qualification). In their four road games in this season’s competition, Wolves have tallied up a great return of 11 goals, conceding only two. Wolves won all six of their qualification matches and only that blip against Braga has gone against them. This is the first time that Wolves have faced a Slovakian club.

Arsenal News and Form

Arsenal have entrusted their group stage campaign in the Europa League to their younger players, and so far so good for them. They turned on the style in collecting a great 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt on Matchday 1 and then they tore apart Standard Liege 4-0 in their second group stage fixture. So that’s back-to-back clean sheets as well Arsenal have a home record of W4 D1 L1 against Portuguese clubs. Last season they were up against Sporting CP in the group stage and played out a 0-0 draw.

All of their other games against Portuguese opposition were against Poro. In the last two Europa League group stage campaigns, Arsenal have taken a total of seven points in each of them. They have strung together a seven-match streak of clean sheets in group stage fixtures in the tournament as well. Arsenal are also W7 L1 in their last eight Europa League games. Vitoria SC News and Form

The Guimaraes side were fifth-place finishers in the Portuguese top-flight last season. They had to battle through three rounds of qualification action to get to the group stage. They did that with a W5 D1 record and they didn’t concede in any of those six games. It hasn’t gone that well since they got here though as they have no points and no goals to show for their efforts in their first two games.

Vitoria suffered a 2-0 loss at Standard Liege before going down 1-0 at home against Eintracht Frankfurt. A win at Jeunesse in this season’s second qualifying round saw Vitoria snap a 13 match winless streak away from home in UEFA competition (D3 L10). They have yet to claim an away win in the group stage of a UEFA competition though (D2 L7). Vitoria have suffered a defeat in each of their last four such away games.

Frankfurt were unbeaten on home soil in the Europa League before Arsenal paid them a visit on Matchday 1. The Bundesliga side lost that home fixture 3-0. But they pulled themselves back together to pick up a 1-0 success at Vitoria. In their four previous games against Belgian opposition, Eintracht Frankfurt have failed to hit the back of the net. This is the first encounter with a Belgian side since 1991 though.

Last season Frankfurt went through 14 Europa League games, ending in a semi defeat against Chelsea. Along the way, they hand knocked out Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter and Benfica, all of which had dropped form the Champions League. This season Frankfurt started in the second qualifying round and made it through to what is their third group stage appearance. Their overall record in the competition is W22 D6 L5 which is superb. This is an important game in the group and the likely winner is going to be Frankfurt. They have a wonderful home record in the competition and given that Liege’s away from isn’t great, the home side deserves the support. Home win.
