Charlton booked an away win in the first leg of this League One play-off semi-final. So that gives them a huge advantage now as they head back to home soil for the return fixture. Earlier this season they claimed a comfortable home win over Doncaster and will be looking for more of the same. Can Doncaster find some much-needed form on this visit to The Valley? The Addicks hold a 2-1 advantage in the tie after the first meet. They were so strong down the back end of the regular season, winning seven of their final eight games of the campaign. They are currently on a six-match winning streak at home and they are undefeated in their last 17 there. So they really are not going to be knocked down easily, not with them holding the advantage. Across the course of the season, Charlton took a clean sheet in 43% of their home games and they conceded just 15 goals at The Valley, an average of 0.65 per game against them.
It is notable too that they posted a W4 L1 record in their five home games against the other top-six finishers during the regular season. The overall home record of Charlton for the season was W16 D5 L2. Charlton scored a total of eleven goals in their final three home games of the season and one of those three victories was against Champions Luton. Of their home success that they recorded, half of the sixteen were by a margin of at least two goals. Luton are on a nine-match scoring streak currently after the first leg of this semi-final, and they are on a six-match scoring streak on home soil. They were leading at half time in 11 of their 23 home games this season.
Rovers let a big opportunity slip at home in the first leg of this tie. They were in decent shape at home and will now know that a trip to the Valley is going to be tough for them. Doncaster went into the playoffs knowing that their away form was not great. Their overall road record for the campaign was W7 D6 L10 but they only took a win in one of their final ten games on the road. They lost four of their final seven on the road (W1 D2). So that’s the problem that they face in this one. Doncaster didn’t take an away win against any of the finishers in the top half of the table this season (D5 L6).
Doncaster averaged 1.35 goals per away game, while they conceded at an average of 1.6 per game. They only managed a clean sheet in 9% of their away games during the regular season and of the twelve away defeats that they suffered, six of them were by a margin of at least two goals. They were level at the halftime break in 11 of their away fixtures and eight of those eleven were 0-0 half time score lines. Doncaster both scored and conceded two-thirds of the away goals in the second period of fixtures. They did though open the scoring in twelve of their road games.
Charlton are such a strong team on home soil, and with the advantage already held in this tie, they should be patient and in control. Doncaster may struggle to get themselves back into what is going to be a really tough fixture. Charlton to win to nil.

Doncaster held their nerve on the final day of the season to collect a crucial win to keep them in the play-off places. So that will have been a mighty relief for them but they have a tough task of taking on Charlton who finished the season with a powerful run of form to earn third place in the table. Will Doncaster be able to make the most of home advantage for this first leg? Read our Doncaster v Charlton betting tips for more.

Doncaster pulled themselves together on the final day of the season posting a 2-0 home win over Coventry. Before that, they had taken just one point from their previous three games played and they would have missed out on the top six if they had lost that game. They came good for them in the end and now they have to take on the challenge of Charlton. Across the course of the regular season on home soil, Doncaster produced a record of W13 D7 L3. They have won four of their last five home games losing the other one in that sequence which was a 1-2 reverse against Accrington. So it has been a really strong home campaign from them.
Given that their away form was nowhere near a strong over the course of the season, they may well have to capitalise on this big chance at home. In their home games against the five teams who finished above them in the table, Doncaster took a W1 D3 L1 record, and a win in that sequence was actually against champions Luton. Doncaster averaged just a tiny shade under two goals per home game for the season, while they comfortably averaged under a goal per home game. 65% of their home games went over 2.5 goals. Across the course of the season, Doncaster earned a clean sheet in 43% of their home fixtures. There are currently on a five-match scoring streak at home and of the 13 home wins that they did take across the course of the season, 10 of those were by at least a two goal margin.
Charlton earned four points in the league against Doncaster
Doncaster beat Charlton in this season’s FA Cup
Doncaster are unbeaten in three at home against Charlton (W1 D2)
Brother as have scored in two of the last seven meetings only
Charlton though are an excellent side. They closed out the season with a three-game winning streak, and looking back just a little further they won seven of their last eight games (L1). At the end of their campaign Charlton only missed out on automatic promotion by three points. During the course of the regular season, they posted an away record of W10 D5 L8 and in that, they averaged 1.4 goals per away game. In total, they took a clean sheet in 35% of their away fixtures and they do have a bit of winning form going for them on their travels. They have won three of their last four on the road.
The Addicks have only taken the one defeat in their last eight away league games. They are on a four-match scoring streak away from home, and home and away combined are on an eight-match scoring streak in league action. Of the eight away defeats that they did suffer during the season, seven of them were by a one-goal margin. Charlton were leading at half-time in 10 of their away fixtures this season and they are a side who really tough to break down. In their last nine games, home and away combined, they have claimed a total of seven clean sheets. They have been superb at home this season and with the second leg to come back on home soil it may just be a case of damage limitation in this first leg.
Doncaster are likely going to have a tough time away from home in the second leg of this tie and so they have to try and take the bull by the horns. However, Charlton really know how to keep things tight and they will just be looking to get back to home soil without having suffered a defeat. Under 2.5 goals.

This is a big game for Doncaster who suffered a defeat last time out. Victory in this one would leave them in a much stronger position to secure a sixth-place finish. Doncaster lost 2-0 at Sunderland on Friday night which snapped a four-match winning streak that they were on. They need to respond in this one to try and edge closer to locking down the final playoff spot. This season on home soil, Doncaster have produced a record of W12 D7 L2 and they do have strong home form going there currently. Doncaster are on a three-match winning streak on home soil and they remain undefeated in their last 13 played there. Doncaster have averaged exactly 2 goals per game at the Keepmoat Stadium this season.
Defensively they have been solid as well as they have conceded at under a goal per game at home. Still, 67% of their home fixtures have made it over 2.5 goals this season. In total Doncaster have claimed a clean sheet in 43% of their home fixtures. Of the 12 home victories which they have picked up this season, nine of them have been by at least a two-goal margin. Doncaster have scored at least two goals in each of their last three on home soil. They have opened the scoring in 11 of their 21 home fixtures and they have been leading at the halftime break in each of their last three on home soil.
Accrington claimed a 1-0 home win over Doncaster in October
Accrington are undefeated in four games against Rovers
Three of the last four meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
The last meeting at the Keepmoat ended in a 2-2 draw in 2017
The pressure really is mounting on Accrington now after a 3-0 home defeat against Luton on the weekend. That was their fifth defeat in their last seven league games (W1 D1). Overall this season their away record in League One is just W6 D6 L9 and they have recorded just the one victory in their last nine out on the road. So they are not out of danger as it stands and they really need to find something special. On their travels, this season Accrington have averaged just over a goal per away game, while they have conceded at an average of 1.5 per road fixture.
In total Accrington have taken a clean sheet in 19% of their away games. Six of the nine away defeats which they have suffered this season have been by a margin of at least two goals. Accrington have not earned a clean sheet in any of their last 15 League One fixtures, home and away. They have been sat level at the halftime break in 11 of their road fixtures this season, having opened the scoring in only seven road games. Only the relegation-threatened Wimbledon have scored fewer league goals in the division than Accrington have done. Pressure is on them in this one but this is a game in hand which they have at over a pretty much everyone else in the bottom half of the table.
Accrington look pretty down out of this point in terms of form is hard to see them pick themselves up to get something out of this game. Doncaster are so strong at the Keepmoat that home win to nil looks a solid proposition.

Rovers get back in action at the Keepmoat, still searching for that lift which will get them going again for a top six finish. Their form has definitely dropped. Doncaster are now on a seven-match winless streak after getting smashed by Luton on Saturday 4-0 at Kenilworth Road (D4 L3). It’s not been going well then and a top-six finish is looking in jeopardy. They are undefeated in their last ten on home soil in the league though. That is part of a W9 D7 L2 record at home this season in League One that Doncaster have recorded.
They have been really tight at the back having conceded at under a goal per game on average this season at the Keepmoat. They have taken a clean sheet in 44% of their home fixtures. They have shipped just one in their last three home games. 67% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals. 67% of their home goals have been scored in the second half of fixtures and only four sides have scored more league goals than they have this season.
Doncaster beat Bristol Rovers 4-0 earlier this season
Doncaster have won seven of their last eight against Bristol Rovers
Bristol River have lost their four at home against Donny
Both teams have scored in one of the last five meetings
The Pirates are doing well at the moment with a five-match undefeated streak of league form going (W3 D2). They have only lost one of their last ten in the league now and are in winning form on the road. They have gone W5 D3 in their last eight road fixtures in League One, which is excellent. Bristol Rovers have only averaged just over a goal per game this season on their travels, taking a clean sheet in 37% of their road games.
Rovers have been sat level at the halftime break in 10 of their 19 away games. They are currently on a five-match scoring streak on their travels and they have scored the first goal in over half of their road fixtures. Rovers have the fifth-best defensive record in the division currently. Five of the six away defeats that Rovers have suffered this season have been by a one-goal margin.
Doncaster have home form, Bristol Rover have great away from. So that just suggests that this is going to be a tight old scrap between the two of them. Bristol Rovers are drastically improved from when they met Doncaster earlier in the season. The draw in the match outright fits.

The Hatters produced a 2-2 draw at home against Gillingham last time out. That moved their home record onto W14 D5 L0 for the season. It has been extremely impressive stuff from them and they have averaged 2.4 goals per home game in the league. That’s only half of the story though as only 53% of games at Kenilworth Road have gone over 2.5 goals. That is because Luton have only conceded 14 home goals this season, an average of 0.74 per game.
In their last six on home soil, Luton are W4 D2. Only four of their fourteen home victories this season have been by a one-goal margin. The Hatters have been sitting level at the break in 11 of their home games. Luton are on a six-match scoring streak at home at the moment. Luton have scored the opening goal in 15 of their 19 home games this term.
Doncaster produced a 2-1 home win over Luton in September
Luton have won only one of their last seven against Doncaster
Both teams have scored in six of the last seven meetings
Luton are undefeated in their last 8 at home against Doncaster
Doncaster are still in the playoff picutre but they have fallen out of form. They are only W4 D2 in their last six played. They have only managed to take the two points from their last four on the road in the division. That has left their overall away record at W6 D5 L8 for the term. Doncaster have lost their last two away games both by a 2-0 scoreline. Just one clean sheet on their travels is all that Rovers have managed to get under their belt this season. They have not taken one in any of their last eight on the road. Each of their last six league games, home and away, have ended under 2.5 goals. They have conceded 69% of their away goals in the second half of matches this season.
Doncaster may have a chance at keeping the score down in his one, but still, the home win looks the most likely outcome. The Hatters to win to nil looks a good proposition at 21/10 odds to keep the Hatters strong at the top of the pile* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 22nd, 2019 at 8:34 p.m.)

Doncaster are on a promotion push in League One and they will be eying up a great cup upset for themselves in this one. This could be a tricky away game for Premier League side Crystal Palace. Read our Doncaster v Crystal Palace betting tips for more.
Crystal Palace 4/7
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 13th, 2019 at 3:34 a.m.)
Even though League One side Doncaster are taking on a top-flight opponent in Crystal Palace, there has been enough about the current form of Donnie to suggest that this FA Cup tie could be a pretty tight affair. Doncaster are on a promotion push in League One currently and they are undefeated in their last five games across all competitions. However it is their home form at the Keepmoat Stadium which really jumps out.
Doncaster have won eight of their last 10 home fixtures (D2) across all competitions. That some serious form and not only that, they have also scored at least two goals in each of the games in that unbeaten sequence. So does suggest that they can give a good account of themselves in this one and another trend with them is that they have also scored at least two goals in all five of their FA Cup matches played this season.
The last time a Crystal Palace made a trip to Doncaster they suffered a 1-0 defeat. That was in 2011/12 Championship season. How well Crystal Palace can handle themselves in this one because they haven’t been carrying very much away form? The Eagles are unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions, which includes their 2-0 home win over Tottenham in the last round of the FA Cup. However, there isn’t too much positive to be said about their away form.
Crystal Palace have lost seven of their last 11 away fixtures. They have only earned the one clean sheet in their last six away from Selhurst Park as well. So putting everything together and it doesn’t look as if this is going to be a comfortable tie for them. One positive that can be said about their away form is that Palace have scored at least two goals in four of their last five on the road. But then again those clean sheets have been really hard to come by for them.
We have to have a look at an FA Cup upset happening somewhere, and this looks like prime fodder. Doncaster are in fantastic form at home, they have been scoring goals and are taking on a higher ranked opponent who have more had more than their fair share of away day blues.

Doncaster have done well in League One this season as they are currently sitting inside the top six in the table. They are on a good promotion push and could be facing Preston in the Championship next season. Championship side Preston are down in the bottom half of the table in their division and have been struggling to pick up the wins. Read our Preston v Doncaster betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on 3rd January 2019 at 11:43 p.m.)
The Lilywhites have not collected a win in any of their last four games, losing three of those fixtures so they have just fallen out of form a little bit. They have collected only the two wins overall in their last eight played, so the visitors may have a decent chance at this one. Preston have put together a decent season at Deepdale though to be fair to them.
They have suffered just the one defeat in their last eight there, winning four of those eight. This will be the first meeting between the two sides since their games during the 2014/15 League One season (which both ended in a draw). A big trend with the Lilywhites is that they have found the back of the net in every home game played this season.
Doncaster though will be up for this, at least they should be. They have put together a good champion in League One. Really since November began they have turned their fortunes around. Rovers have suffered just one defeat in their last eleven games now in all competitions now and have, of course, a couple of FA Cup games under their belt.
They needed a replay back at the Keepmoat in the first round to get past Chorley. They won that replay 7-0 incidentally. It was then a win over Charlton in the second round for them. Doncaster have earned back to back clean sheets they have taken in this season’s FA Cup. Rovers have scored at least two goals now in all but one of their last thirteen matches played. They should be competitive.
There is a decent chance here for Doncaster to pull off a bit of a Cup upset. They have been scoring very well and with Preston not quite on their game, this could be a close duel. The Doncaster – Draw double chance is at 11/10 odds* (betting odds taken from bet365 on January 3rd, 2019 at 8:25 pm)

League Two leaders Doncaster step out into action on Thursday night to try and extend their last at the top of the table. However, they are going into a tough game against the in-form Pompey who have promotion ambitions of their own as they start the game in fourth place. But Doncaster are unbeaten in their last 12 league home matches now so will take some stopping. But then you have Pompey who have gone unbeaten in their last eight league games out on the road. This should be a mammoth clash at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night. Doncaster are 8/5 for the wine, that the draw at 5/2 and Portsmouth at 7/4.
Online betting site Bet365 offer great 0-0 bore draw insurance on matches which you can take advantage of. Tough game coming up for Doncaster who step out against Pompey on Thursday night. Rovers have posted an unbeaten W9 D3 record at home this season in the league, part of the reason why they are running for promotion. They are on a four match winning streak on home soil and have won six of their last seven there (D1) so are going to take some stopping. Five of their last seven home wins though have only been by the one goal margin and Doncaster to win by a one goal margin at Bet365 will return a price of 7/2. Their last two League Two wins on home soil have been by a 1-0 scoreline and each of their last three wins home and away in the league have been but that result. A Doncaster 1-0 correct score returns a quote of 7/1 with bookmaker Bet365 for this one.
Rovers have actually failed to win any of their last four at home against Portsmouth in a D1 L3 record so this may not be all cut and dry. Home and away against Pompey, Rovers have won two of their last six meetings and one of those did happen this season when they carded a 2-1 victory on the south coast against Pompey back at the start of October. Top scorer for Rovers this season is John Marquis with an 11 goal haul and he is a price of 3/2 in the Bet365 anytime goalscorer market with Andy Williams at 13/8. Liam Mandeville has seven goals in nine league appearances this season and is a 2/1 quote. So they have the firepower do Rovers. However, the game to go under 2.5 goals, as Doncaster have shipped just one goal in their last four league games, is a quote of 4/5 with bookmaker Bet365.
So there is nothing wrong with Pompey’s form at the moment. They are unbeaten in their last five home and away and out on the road in League Two they have put together an eight match unbeaten streak (W5 D3). So they are tripping long nicely although they were held to a 0-0 draw at Yeovil in their last away game. Overall this season Portsmouth have gone W6 D4 L2 on the road. They have been level at the break in nine of their 13 away games this season and just 31% of their away games in the league have gone over 2.5 goals so there may not be a lot of goals flying around in this one. Pompey have scored just the 14 way goals this season in 13 games, but they have netted three goals in two of their last four out on the road so there have been signs of increasing output. They can’t match the firepower of Doncaster at the moment, but they can certainly dig in with defensive discipline (four clean sheets in their last five) and make Rovers sweat.
This one has a low scoring draw written all over it, so have a shot at a 1-1 correct score. Doncaster have more to offer going forward in the game, but Pompey rarely give up much at the back. Pompey are defending a long unbeaten stretch of form away from home and they would probably be happy walking away from the south coast trip with a point in their pocket. Draw and under 2.5 goals.

It has been a miserable season for Fulham so far and their only win this term came in the second round of the Capital One Cup. Will they suffer more misery and fall at the hands of League One side Doncaster? Fulham boss Felix Magath may be out of a job if the Craven Cottage crew take a tumble in this one. Fulham are 4/5 favourite to take the win at Bet Victor, with the visiting Rovers at 3/1 for the win.
There is great acca insurance available on the Both Teams To Score market at online betting site Bet Victor. Place a five fold acca from selections in the Both Teams To Score market and if just one leg of your bet lets you down, then the bookie will give you a free bet back up to the value of £25. New customers registering an account with the bookmaker can get up to a free £25 bet as a welcome bonus too.
So just one win all season from ten matches played from Fulham this season. They took a tough drop from the Premier League season last term and just have not found their footing. They have been very poor in front of goal, and even when they have managed to find the net, they have just been outscored for the large part. They have lost eight of their ten games played this term, along with their Capital One Cup win against Brentford, the only other time they have avoided defeat was a 1-1 Champions draw against Cardiff.
Fulham have to be at risk in this one as they go into on the back of a three match losing streak, failing to score in two of those games. The London side have only made it past Round 3 of the competition once since 2005, even though that was last season before eventually getting stopped by Leicester. Tough to back a side in such dire form, even at home against a lower league side. The Rovers aren’t a side who are going to post a great deal of threat themselves, but will be tempting punters to back them for an upset.
It has been patchy form all season from Rovers, who have won just one of their last four matches played. Wins over York and Watford have put them in the third round, and they may fancy their chances here. They have failed to score in three of their last four matches though, never a good sign, but Fulham have been so vulnerable, the League One side will get a sniff of something. You do have to go back to the 2005/06 campaign for the last time that Rovers made it into Round 4 of the league cup, and they have won just one of their last nine against Fulham in all competitions. There’s no recent history though as the last time they met was in Division 3 back in 1997.
Do you back the higher side who are struggling for form, or the pluck underway on the road? Tough one to call, not sure where the goals are going to come from in this one, so probably worth looking under 2.5 goals for the match. It does have the feel of going to extra time in it, but at the end of the day, backing Fulham at an odds-on quote just isn’t value, so shoot for the away side.

Leicester v Doncaster Betting Tips:
Just one defeat in their last 26 league matches. That is the power of Leicester. However, they did suffer a defeat earlier in the season at Doncaster, and you can imagine that they’ll be looking forward to the final whistle so that they can really start celebrating their success. Will that give Doncaster an opening? Probably not. Leicester hold a W16 D4 L2 record at home this season and it not just on the weight of their scoring, but they really don’t give very much away at the back. Leicester have only conceded the one goal in their last four matches in the Championship. 63% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals so that’s probably a way to go here, and that is trading at a price of 4/6.
Just to put more pressure on Doncaster, Leicester have gone 13 game unbeaten at home to Doncaster in league meetings. Twelve of those 13 meetings have been won by the Foxes. They do have a goal to play for, because if they get a point, they will be the first side to earn 100+ points in the Championship since Newcastle’s 102 point haul in the 2009/10 season. You would expect them to get on the scoresheet against Doncaster, as the Foxes have netted in each of their last 30 league games, the longest run of the season. Despite what Donny need to do in this one, which is basically go for broke, the odds really are stacked against them away from home.
Of course, Donny could turn up, get hammered and still survive. That would depend on Birmingham not getting a point against Bolton. If the Blues got a point then Doncaster would be relegated on goal difference. Tough, tough spot for Donny. While they have only scored three goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches this season, they have shipped a league high 24 goals in the final 15 minutes of matches. A look at Doncaster’s away league form this season, sees them having picked up just 13 points on the road this season, another league low. They have won one of their last eighteen away games. They have only lost one of their last three road games though (W1 D1 L1). But with a W0 D1 L5 record over their last six Championship matches, it is tough to see them get anything here.
The Foxes should be in a buoyant mood and aren’t likely to take their eye off the ball in this one. A Leicester to win to nil is probably worth a shot at 2/1 with Bet365, as they have won their last three games in a row to nil against better sides than Donny.
