The Magpies had a setback last Monday as they lost at Arsenal. They do look to have done enough already to not be worried over relegation. The Eagles picked up a good home win on the weekend and they will be a threat in this as they have produced some fairly decent away form as of late. Crystal Palace 2/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on April 2nd, 2019 at 11:33 p.m.)
Newcastle suffered a 2-0 reverse at Arsenal on Monday night, but still, they haven’t been in bad shape lately at all. The Magpies are W3 D1 L2 in their last six and each of the three wins in that sequence were at St James’ Park. Their home record for the season stands at W7 D1 L8 at the moment and they are on a five-match winning streak there. In their home games, this season Newcastle have returned a total of an average of 1.2 goals per home game. They taken a clean sheet in 31% of their home fixtures.
Four of their seven home wins have been by a one-goal margin and they have netted in each of their last five home games. Home and away, they have not managed a clean sheet in any of their last five. Going back to their scoring streak at home, they have scored at least two goals in each of their last five EPL games at St James’ Park. 63% of their home goals have cropped up in the second period of fixtures. The Magpies have only scored the opening goal in 5 of their 16 EPL home games.
There was a 0-0 draw in the first meeting this season
There have now been back to back draws between the Magpies and Eagles
Newcastle are undefeated in four against Palace (W2 D2)
Newcastle have won three of their last four home games against Palace 1-0 (D1)
The Eagles suffered a 2-0 loss at Tottenham in midweek which leagues them at W3 L3 in their last six league games, home and away. It has been form good enough to put some distance between themselves and the drop zone. Palace were on a two-match winning streak away from home, having beaten Leicester and Burnley, before that loss against Spurs on Wednesday. That is just one loss in their last four away games then for the Eagles which is part of an overall away record of W6 D2 L8 record on their travels this season.
The Eagles have netted 25 away goals this season, which is an average of 1.5 goals per away game. Both teams have scored in 62% of their away games, Palace picking up a clean sheet in 25% of their road games. Four of their six wins away from home have been by a margin of at least two goals. Crystal Palace have actually done well because they have been leading at halftime in eight of their away games. Before their blank against Spurs, they were on an eleven match scoring streak in the Premier League. They are without a clean sheet in five on the road though.
These two are likely to be evenly matched. The Magpies have done alright on home soil lately while Palace have the away form. Neither would likely be disappointed with picking up a point in this one.

Spurs cruelly suffered a 2-1 defeat at Anfield against Liverpool on the weekend, with Toby Alderweireld putting through his own net in the final minute of the game. This will be their first ever game in their brand new stadium. It should be a great atmosphere. Palace won on the weekend to further distance themselves from the drop zone. Spurs are in some bad form at the moment. They are now only D1 L4 in their last five league games. On the weekend they paid a visit to Anfield to face Liverpool and produced a fantastic second-half performance, only to be cruelly handed defeat through an own goal at the death. But they should be fired up for this, their first ever home game at the Spurs Stadium. Spurs have a home record of W9 D1 L4 this season from their games at Wembley. Their last home game was a North London derby against Arsenal which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Spurs are undefeated in their last four at home (W3 D1) and in their campaign at home this season, they have scored an average of 1.8 goals per game. They have conceded at under a goal per game on average as well. In total Spurs have taken a clean sheet in 29% of home game, but only have one clean sheet in their last six home fixtures. Home and away, Tottenham have no clean sheet in six. Spurs have scored 60% of their home goals this season after the half time break. Their top-four finish now is in some serious jeopardy with this drop in form. Will life at their new home get them back on track?
Spurs won 1-0 at Selhurst Park in November
Palace then won a home FA Cup tie against Spurs in January
Spurs have won five of the last six meetings in all competitions
6 of the last 7 meetings have produced a 1-0 scoreline (Spurs W5 L1)
The Eagles collected a 2-0 home win over Huddersfield on the weekend, a result which actually relegated the Terriers. That moved the Eagles on to a good W4 D2 L2 record in their last eight games. Palace have won their last two on the road, going undefeated in their last three away from Selhurst Park. The Eagles have scored almost double the amount of goals away from home than they have managed at home in the league this season. 60% of their away games have gone over 2.5 goals.
Palace have scored eleven goals in their last four away games. They have scored at least two goals now in six of their last seven on the road. So the scoring form is there from there to suggest that they can get at Spurs. Palace are currently on an eleven match scoring streak in the top flight, home and away. They are without a clean sheet in any of their last four on the road though. Of the goals which they have conceded away from home, 75% of them have been in the second half of matches. They have scored 64% of their away goals in the second half of games.
This feels a little unfair for Crystal Palace because this will be a big night for Spurs in their first game in their new home. That will create an atmosphere that wouldn’t have been at the same level if this one had been played at Wembley. That could be a huge factor. Spurs to win and both teams to score.

The Eagles were taken down at home in a 2-1 loss by Brighton in their last fixture. That is back to back home losses that the Eagles have suffered. It has not been a great season on home turf from the Eagles at all. They have only produced a W3 D4 L8 in the EPL this term at Selhurst Park. It is well worth noting that two of those three home wins from Palace have been against sides currently in the bottom four. The Eagles have not conceded in any of their three home games against sides in the bottom four at Selhurst Park this term. Overall this season, Palace have scored just 11 home goals.
But their defence hasn’t been all that bad really because they have picked up a clean sheet in 33% of their home fixtures. They have conceded in total, at just over a goal per game. Both teams have scored in just 33% of Palace’s home games. 27% of league fixtures there have gone under 2.5 goals. Palace are on a five-match scoring streak at home, and they haven’t taken a clean sheet in any of their last three. Palace have scored in each of their last ten league games, home and away. The Eagles have conceded 76% of their home goals in the second half of fixtures.
Palace won 1-0 at Huddersfield earlier this season
Both teams have scored in just one of the last seven meetings
Palace lost this corresponding fixture 3-0 last season
Huddersfield have failed to score in their last three against the Eagles in all competitions
It is a three-match losing streak that Huddersfield are back on a the moment. That’s fourteen defeats in their last sixteen games played. Only an astounding miracle prevents them from playing Championship football next season. Last time out they blew a tremendous winning position at 3-1 away at West Ham to lose 4-3. That leaves Huddersfield with a four-match losing streak away from home doing currently and they only managed to score in one of those. The goals at West Ham actually snapped a five-match away sequence in which the Terriers had failed to score.
The Terriers have only netted 11 goals on their travels this season in the top flight. They have conceded at over two goals per game on average with a clean sheet in just 13% of their road games. Their overall away record is W1 D3 L11 this season and they are on a nine-match winless streak away from home in the top flight. Huddersfield have not taken a clean sheet in their last four on the road and they have opened the scoring in only three road games this term. Fulham are the only side in the division with a worse away record than that of Huddersfield’s.
Palace look a good proposition to churn out three points in this home fixture. They have the defensive strengths to keep Huddersfield at bay. The manner of their defeat at West Ham has to have really been heavy for the Terriers to deal with. Home win to nil.

The Hornets aren’t in bad current form at the moment. They have won four of their last six played (L2). The two defeats in what sequence happened in away games at Liverpool and Manchester City, which is nothing to be overly concerned about. So they are shaping up well and they have lost just one of their last six at Vicarage Road as well. So far in this season’s FA Cup Watford have played all of their games away from home, winning at Woking, Newcastle and QPR without having conceded a single goal. Can they make the best of home advantage in this one?
Watford won both league games this season 2-1 against Palace
Watford are unbeaten in three at home against Palace (W1 D2)
Palace are without a win in three games against the Hornets
Palace won the last FA Cup meeting, a semi-final in 2016
The Eagles have been shaping up much better in 2019 than they had been over the first half of the season. They have lost only two of their last nine games in all competitions. Those two defeats were at home as well. They have been a bigger threat in their away games than at home. They did take a home win over Spurs in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Palace are on a three-match winning streak away from home in all competitions, unbeaten in four. They have scored at least two goals in six of their last seven on the road as well. Their only loss in their last seven away games (W5 D1) was at Liverpool in the league. They have only one clean sheet in five away from home though.
This should be a close contest but Watford may just be able to get across the finish line. We see them being pushed all the way but home advantage may just swing it. Watford to win in the match outright at 13/10 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on March 14th, 2019 at 8:39 p.m.)

The Eagles secured a very good away win at Burnley last weekend which was their third win in five Premier League games (D1 L1). They have only lost one of their last six played, home and away, so things are going well at the moment. Their record at home this season isn’t great at just W3 D4 L7 though. They are W1 D1 L1 in their last three there. But as a positive for them in this one Crystal Palace have lost just one of six home games this season against other teams in the bottom half of the table.
The Eagles are at just the ten goals at home this season. 21% of games at Selhurst Park have ended under 2.5 goals. That having been said Palace have scored in each of their last four home fixtures in the EPL. 80% of their home goals conceded have been in the second half of matches. Bottom side Huddersfield are the only team who have a worse home record in the division than the Eagles have. Palace have scored the opening goal in 5 of their 14 home games only.
Brighton took a 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace earlier this season
The Eagles are unbeaten in four home games against Brighton (W2 D2)
Palace were 3-2 winners in last season’s corresponding fixture
Each of the last three meetings have gone over 2.5 goals
Brighton were winless in seven league games before grinding out a 1-0 home win over bottom side Huddersfield last weekend. That was a big three points for the Seagulls to stop their slide. They are W1 D3 L5 in their last nine. That home success last weekend has done nothing to arrest their poor away form though. The Seagulls are winless in six top-flight away games, collecting just the one point in that sequence. They have tallied 13 away goals this season.
The away record of the Seagulls is W2 D2 L10. They have conceded quite heavily on their travels with 1.8 goals against them per game on average. They have conceded a total of ten goals in their last four away games alone. Brighton have managed to earn just one away clean sheet themselves this season. They are without one in any of their last nine on the road. Brighton have actually conceded at least two goals in each of their last five away games.
The Eagles are in good enough form to come up with three points here. The away form of Brighton just hasn’t been there and the Eagles can take them down. Home win in a low scoring game probably.

Burnley took a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle on Tuesday night which snapped a seven-match undefeated streak of form that they were on (W4 L3). But still their good home form survives and they are undefeated in their last four top-flight games at Turf Moor. The Clarets have won three of their last four on home soil.
Their overall form for the season is W5 D2 L6 on home soil and four of those five victories have appeared in their last six home matches. So they do have good home form going for themselves. Burnley have produced 17 goals in their 13 league home games this season which isn’t high, but 62% of all games at Turf Moor have ended up over 2.5 goals.
Burnley do have just the one clean sheet in their last five at Turf Moor. The Clarets have averaged 1.8 goals per game against them at home this season. Three of the five home wins Burnley have recorded have been by the one-goal margin only.
They have scored in each of their last eight league home games and 65% of their home goals this season have been netted in the first period of fixtures. It has been getting better for them but still, there are only four sides in the division who have a worse home record then Burnley have.
Crystal Palace were 2-0 home winners over Burnley back in December.
The Eagles have won the last two league meetings with Burnley
Burnley have won their last two though at home against Palace in the top flight
Both teams have scored in just two of the last eight meetings
Crystal Palace earned a big win in their last away game, a 4-1 success out at Leicester last weekend. That leaves them with some very decent away form as they have won two of their last four away from Selhurst Park (D1 L1).
They have looked much more competitive lately and overall this season they have produced an away record of W5 D2 L7. That is better than what they have produced on home soil this season in the top flight.
The Eagles have returned 22 goals on their travels, conceding 23 of them. 57% of their road games have gone over 2.5 goals. They have won three of their last five on the road (D1 L1) so they have the means to make a nuisance of themselves.
Palace have a clean sheet in 29% of their road games. Crystal Palace have scored in each of their last seven on the road, but don’t have a clean sheet in three. 64% of their away goals have been scored in the second half of matches. They have conceded 74% of their away goals after the halftime break.
Burnley are in good shape at home and Palace have done well on the road recently. We can only lean towards a share of the spoils in this one. The draw in the match outright has the most appeal in what should be an even contest.

The Eagles have hit a nice bit of form to help pull themselves away from the relegation zone. They have gone unbeaten in four, winning two of those. On the weekend they made a trip to Leicester and posted a 4-1 victory at the King Power Stadium. Overall this season Crystal Palace have only won the three home games (W3 D4 L6) in the top flight. They are unbeaten in their last two there though having beaten Fulham and drawn with West Ham. The defence of Crystal Palace at home has been good as they have conceded at under a goal per game on average at Selhurst Park.
83% of their home goals conceded have been in second half of fixtures. They have been goal shy though as they have only managed nine goals in their 13 home games. Just 50% of League games at Selhurst Park this season have made it over 2.5 goals. The Eagles have taken a clean sheet in 38% of their home fixtures. But that having been said they have only one clean sheet in their last six League games, home and away. Also home and away, Palace are on a seven-match scoring streak in the Premier League. Just two teams currently have a worse home record in the top flight and Crystal Palace.
Palace picked up a point in a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in November
Manchester United were on a six-match winning streak against them before that
The Eagles have lost their last three home games against United by a one-goal margin
Both teams have scored in one of the last four meetings
The Red Devils played out 0-0 draw at home against Liverpool on the weekend. They were hampered badly by injuries and so they are going to be taking a depleted squad into this fixture. Overall this season Manchester United are W8 D2 L4 on their travels. They are currently on a 10 match undefeated streak of form in the Premier League. They have posted a sequence of five straight away wins as well and they have banked a clean sheet in each of their last four away from Old Trafford.
In total Manchester United have averaged just a shade under two goals per away game this season. 50% of their away games have ended up over 3.5 goals this season with 71% going over 2.5. The Red Devils have been leading at the halftime break in six of their 14 road games this season but they have conceded 63% of their away goals in the first half of matches. The Red Devils have scored in each and every away Premier League game they have played this season. They have opened the scoring in exactly half of those road fixtures.
Manchester United are struggling with injuries have the moment so we can picture this being a bit of a low key affair as Crystal Palace will just try and contain the visitors. A narrow away win by a one-goal margin looks a good fit.

So it has been just one point earned from the last 15 available in the Premier League for Leicester. Granted they have met Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham in their last three games, but they had relatively easy games against Southampton and Wolves prior to that.
It is their home form which is really their biggest worry because they have lost four of their last five at the King Power Stadium (W1). The Foxes have only claimed four home victories this season, part of an overall W4 D2 L6 home record this season. The Foxes have failed to score in three of their last five on home soil.
Leicester’s output in front of goal has been poor this season as they have scored just 13 home goals. They have conceded exactly 13 at home as well. The Foxes have taken a clean sheet in 25% of their home games this season but they don’t have one in any of their last five on home turf.
Leicester have had to do a lot of chasing in home games as they have conceded 77% of their home goals in the first period of fixtures. They have only been leading at the halftime break twice at the King Power this term. Boss Claude Puel will be under some more severe pressure if they don’t start delivering.
Palace were 1-0 winners at home over the Foxes in December
The Eagles are on a three-match winning streak against Leicester
Leicester have failed to score in their last three against Palace
The Foxes are W2 L2 at home in previous EPL meetings
Crystal Palace have put together a three-match undefeated streak of form, winning one of those. The last time they were out on the road they picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at Southampton. That left their away record this season at W4 D2 L7. Away from home this season in the top flight, Crystal Palace have scored 18 goals, twice as many as they have managed to score at home.
There was 40% of Crystal Palace’s away games this season have ended up over 3.5 goals. In total, the Eagles have taken a clean sheet in 31% of road fixtures. The Eagles are currently on a six-match scoring streak of form away from home. While they haven’t always been closing out games, surprisingly Crystal Palace have been leading at half-time in six of their 13 road fixtures (D4 L3).
There is every chance that they will turn up and be a threat to the Foxes. It is the second half of Palace’s away games which have really delivered the goals. The Eagles have scored 61% of their away goals in the second period of fixtures, while they have conceded 73% of their away goals after the halftime break too.
We don’t feel that there’s anything wrong with having a punt on the away win in this one. Leicester just don’t have home form behind them and Palace have been better on the road this season than at home. Away win.

The quarter finals of the FA Cup was made on Monday evening. The final game of the fifth round saw Manchester United take what was a comfortably easy away win at Chelsea. That was a repeat of last season’s FA Cup Final line up, with Chelsea prevailing. So the holders are out and Manchester United are now running as second favourites to lift this season’s title.

Even though League One side Doncaster are taking on a top-flight opponent in Crystal Palace, there has been enough about the current form of Donnie to suggest that this FA Cup tie could be a pretty tight affair. Doncaster are on a promotion push in League One currently and they are undefeated in their last five games across all competitions. However it is their home form at the Keepmoat Stadium which really jumps out.
Doncaster have won eight of their last 10 home fixtures (D2) across all competitions. That some serious form and not only that, they have also scored at least two goals in each of the games in that unbeaten sequence. So does suggest that they can give a good account of themselves in this one and another trend with them is that they have also scored at least two goals in all five of their FA Cup matches played this season.
The last time a Crystal Palace made a trip to Doncaster they suffered a 1-0 defeat. That was in 2011/12 Championship season. How well Crystal Palace can handle themselves in this one because they haven’t been carrying very much away form? The Eagles are unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions, which includes their 2-0 home win over Tottenham in the last round of the FA Cup. However, there isn’t too much positive to be said about their away form.
Crystal Palace have lost seven of their last 11 away fixtures. They have only earned the one clean sheet in their last six away from Selhurst Park as well. So putting everything together and it doesn’t look as if this is going to be a comfortable tie for them. One positive that can be said about their away form is that Palace have scored at least two goals in four of their last five on the road. But then again those clean sheets have been really hard to come by for them.
We have to have a look at an FA Cup upset happening somewhere, and this looks like prime fodder. Doncaster are in fantastic form at home, they have been scoring goals and are taking on a higher ranked opponent who have more had more than their fair share of away day blues.
