This tie looks pretty much to be in the bag with Chelsea having powered their way to a 3-0 success in the first leg. That sets them up so well for this trip out and East. It should be a simple matter of game management from the Premier League side now. Read our Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea betting tips for more.
Dynamo Kiev 13/5

It was comfortable for a patient Chelsea side in the end at home against Dynamo Kiev in the first leg of this round of sixteen tie. Chelsea have never won in Ukraine before having gone D1 L1 there from their previous visits. The victory in the first leg gave Chelsea their eighth win in nine Europa League games this season (D1). After topping their group stage they comfortably beat Malmo 5-1 in the last round.
This is the second meeting between the two teams after having met in the 2015/16 Champions League group stage. There was a 0-0 draw between them in Kiev on that occasion. In their other game in Ukraine, Chelsea lost 2-1 at Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2013/14 Champions League. The Blues are unbeaten in twelve Europa League games now. They are W4 D1 in their last five away games in the competition. The Blues have won 11 of the 15 previous UEFA ties after a first-leg victory at home.
There is a big uphill task for Kiev then in this one. Like Chelsea, Dynamo Kiev also won their group in the Europa League and then edged a 3-2 aggregate win over Olympiakos in the last round. They do actually have some good home form against English sides. They have only suffered three defeats in their 14 previous home games against English opponents, winning five of those.
In the Europa League specifically, Dynamo Kiev are W2 D1 at home against English sides. They have won their two previous knockout ties as well in this competition against English opposition, Man City in 2010/11 and Everton in 2014/15. It doesn’t look too likely that they are going to pull off a win in this tie. Dynamo Kiev have lost just two of their last fourteen home games in Europe (W8 D4) which is a fine record. In 5 of their last 13 previous UEFA ties where they had lost the first leg away from home, Kiev fought back to win.
There is little need for Chelsea to push in this one and given that Kiev have a pretty good home record against English sides, the draw may be the safest bet in the match outright.

The Blues are overwhelming favourites for this round of sixteen tie in the UEFA Europa League. They start with home soil advantage against Ukrainian opponents Dynamo Kiev. It has been fairly easy passage for Chelsea so far. Will that continue? Read our Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev betting tips for more.
Dynamo Kiev 9/1

It has been steady progress from Chelsea in the tournament so far this season. They have posted a W7 D1 record in their eight games. In the last round, they eased to a 5-1 aggregate win over Malmo. Chelsea met Kiev in the 2015/16 Champions League group stage with the Blues winning 2-1 at home after a 0-0 away draw. The only other encounter with Ukrainian opponents that Chelsea have had was against Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2013/14 Champions League with the two trading home wins.
Current Chelsea star Willian scored twice for Shakhtar’s in their 3-2 home win, which dropped Chelsea to the Europa League which the Blues then went on to win. The Blues are on an eleven match undefeated streak of form in the Europa League. Their record at Stamford Bridge in the competition is W7 D1. Olivier Giroud is on a five-match scoring streak in the UEFA Champions League.
Kiev were group winners in this season’s Europa League, topping Rennes. In the last round, they produced a win over Olympiakos 3-2 on aggregate. Dinamo Kiev have faced plenty of English opposition before. This will be their 29th game against English opposition. They have won exactly half of their previous 28 so it is something of a competitive record from them.
They have, however, lost 11 of their 14 previous visits to England, so that is where it has fallen down (D3). They have failed to score in 9 of those 14 as well. The last time they were in England they played out a 0-0 draw at Man City in the Champions League 2015/16 round of sixteen. They are D1 L2 in three previous Europa league visits to England.
This opener may be a low scoring affair. Chelsea will be happy enough to get a clean sheet on the board in this first leg. They should have the quality, even though not at their strongest to find a way past their opponents. Chelsea to win to nil.

Chelsea conceded late out in Sweden in a 2-1 victory which just keeps this tie interesting and exciting. But realistically the Blues should be able to handle themselves back at the Bridge in this second leg. Read our Chelsea v Malmo betting tips for more.

Chelsea met up with Malmo for the first time ever in the first leg of this tie. Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud got their goals in the game. They really should have closed the game out, but the Blues fell apart in the last ten minutes as Malmo ramped up the pressure. Chelsea have faced two previous ties against Swedish sides, with a W1 L1 record in those two. In the group stage this season Chelsea won all three of their home games, conceding just the one goal in that sequence of games.
This is the second time that Chelsea have been at this stage of the competition. The Blues are undefeated in ten Europa League games now, winning nine of the games in that sequence. They have never lost a home game (W6 L1) in the Europa League. They have not won any of the last four knockout stage games in Europe (D2 L2) however. The Blues have never lost a UEFA tie having won the first leg away from home.
Chelsea hold a 2-1 lead in the tie
The first leg was the first-ever game between the two clubs
Malmo began this season’s European campaign the first round of the Champions League qualifiers. They lost in the third qualifying round. They got through the Europa League playoffs through to make the group stage. The only previous time that Malmo were in the group stage of the European League was in 2011/12 and they picked up one point.
They collected nine in his season’s group stage, going unbeaten in five (W2 D3). This is the first time that they have been in the knockout stage of a European competition since 1986/87. Away from home in Europe, this season Malmo are W4 D2 L1 and they have picked up a clean sheet in five of those fixtures. Malmo have never progressed in a European tie having lost the first game at home. Malmo have never won an away game in the knockout stages of a European competition (D2 L3).
Chelsea can cruise this tie. They had a bad ten minutes at the end of the first leg to concede but should be able to keep the Swedes at bay. Chelsea to win to nil at the Bridge.

Things haven’t been going well for Chelsea on the domestic front lately, how will they fare on their trip to Sweden on Thursday in the round of 32 in the Europa League? The Blues are unbeaten in four previous matches against Swedish opposition. Read our Malmo v Chelsea betting tips for more.

Malmo pulled off something of an underdog success in the group stage of this season’s Europa League. They managed to complete the double over Besiktas with a win on matchday six to put themselves through to the knockout phase at the expense of the Turkish outfit. No Swedish side has ever gone beyond this stage of the competition. The most famous match that Malmo have been in against English opposition was the 1979 European Champions Clubs’ Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest which they lost 1-0.
The Swedes have just one win against English opposition. They lost their opening game of the group stage in this season’s Europa League but then went unbeaten in five (W2 D3). Malmo are currently unbeaten in their last eight European home games, drawing six of those. Actually, the Swedish outfit have not suffered a home loss in Europe since PSG beat them in the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League.
Chelsea comfortably won their Europa League group only dropping the two points along the way. They don’t produce anything spectacular, they basically just got the job done with as little effort as possible. Chelsea won two of their three away games in the group, both of them were 1-0 successes. This is just their second appearance in the round of 32 in the Europa League.
The last time that they were in the knockouts was in 2012/13 when they went on to win the tournament. The Blues are undefeated in their last nine games in the Europa League. Before their 2-2 draw at Vidi on matchday six, they were on an eight-match winning streak. Their last away defeat in Europe happened in the second leg of their 2013 campaign’s quarterfinal at Rubin Kazan. In all competitions, Chelsea are on a four-match losing streak away from home without having scored a goal.
Chelsea are going to be under pressure in this one to get the win. We can see them dusting themselves off and getting it. It’s hard to trust their defence though so Chelsea to win & both teams to score it is for 15/8 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 11th, 2019 at 11:18 p.m.)
12th February 2019 / lee - Category: Europa League Betting
Chelsea have already won the group and have nothing to play for on Thursday night. So they can make plenty of personnel changes. Vidi meanwhile do have a target in mind. If they can earn more points than BATE can on the night, then they will get through. So will they come and attack or hope to simply avoid defeat? Read our Vidi v Chelsea betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 11th, 2018 at 2:17 p.m.)
Vidi can make it through to the next round of the competition but it is going to be tough for them. They have to try and better whatever BATE do on the night to achieve that, as they are level on six points with BATE after their five games. So far at home in the group, Vidi lost 2-0 against BATE and then beat PAOK 1-0. In none of their group stage games so far have both teams scored. The only previous encounter with English opposition was against Man Utd in the 1984/85 UEFA Cup. Vidi won 1-0 at home and beat United in a penalty shootout.
They are the current champions of Hungary and they were close to getting to the Champions League but slipped out in the playoff round to drop into the Europa League. This is their second campaign in the Europa League group stage. They have won four of their previous 13 European fixtures. They ended a six-match winless streak in European action with a 2-0 success over PAOK on match day two. They also snapped a three-match European home streak without a win when they beat the Geeks at home on matc hday four. Vidi’s overall record against English opposition is W1 L2
Alvaro Morata scored the only goal of the game at Stamford Bridge in their first ever meeting
Chelsea have topped the group easily with five wins from five in a pretty easy campaign as expected. Chelsea are just one of three clubs in this season’s group stage with maximum points after five games. They have won four of their group stage games with a clean sheet so that’s a decent trend there. On their travels, they took 1-0 wins at PAOK and at BATE. That is the first time that they have won back to back European away games since the 2013/14 Champions League group stage
The Blues have tallied ten goals in their five games, conceding one in their group campaign so far. With just the one goal against, that is the best defensive record in the group stage currently. This is their first ever Europa League groups stage campaign. They have won three of their last four games in all conceptions now (L1) after beating Man City in the Premier League on the weekend. Their overall away form in all competitions is W7 D1 L2 for the season. The Blues have lost their last two away games (both EPL fixtures).
There could be a decent shot at the draw in this one. Vidi could get through to the next round if they avoid defeat on the night. Chelsea are likely to send out nothing more than a second string in a total dead rubber for them. Draw.

Chelsea have already qualified for the knockout phase of the competition. They are playing for top spot on Thursday night in the group. They have to just avoid defeat to that. PAOK are still alive in the group but they have some work to do to say in it. Read our Chelsea v PAOK betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on November 27th, 2018 at 8:20 p.m.)
Chelsea have had a fairly easy time of things so far in the Europa League group stage this season. They have produced 88 shots in total so far in their four games, more than any other team at this stage of this season’s campaign. With four wins from four in the group, three of those were with a clean sheet. Chelsea to win to nil is at 20/21 odds* (betting odds taken on November 27th, 2018 at 9:11 pm) which does include their 1-0 away win against PAOK on matchday one.
Interestingly, despite being the top shot-producers in the group stage so far, three of their four wins have been 1-0 victories only so they haven’t been clinical up front. Chelsea have won their two previous home games against Greek opposition, the most recent of which was in 2008 against Olympiacos. Chelsea are unbeaten in Europe at Stamford Bridge since a 2-1 loss against Basel in 2013. From their following thirteen matches, they are W10 D3. They were on a run of three straight home draws in Europe before beating Vidi on matchday two.
The matchday one meeting was the first-ever game between the two clubs
The Greeks have their qualification hopes still hanging in there. They stay alive unless they lose and Vidi don’t or if they draw and Vidi win on Thursday night. PAOK are W1 L3 in the group so far and their only win was in a 4-1 success at BATE. Those are their only goals in the group as well incidentally. Following that win they then lost back to back against Vidi to ruin their campaign. Their 1-0 loss at home to Chelsea on matchday one was their first loss in five games against English sides.
From their two previous trips to England, they took a 1-1 draw at Arsenal in 1997 and a 2-1 win at Tottenham in 2011. Their overall away record in the Europa League is W9 D6 L5. Having come through the qualifiers they are W2 D2 L1 in five away games this season, their loss coming against Vidi in the group stage, snapping their unbeaten run. Both teams not to score is 3/4 odds* (betting odds taken on November 27th, 2018 at 9:11 pm) should appeal as they are taking on a Chelsea side who have the joint best defensive record in the group stage so far.
We can only see another routine win for Chelsea happening in this one. Given that they have three clean sheets and PAOK have failed to score in three games so far, a Chelsea to win to nil option has to leading our betting tips.

Chelsea will be looking to make it three wins from three in Group L of the Europa League. They have banked back to back 1-0 wins so far and just basically are doing what is needed. BATE have picked up three points from their two games so far but took a hammering last time out. Read our Chelsea v BATE betting tips for more.
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on October 23rd, 2018 at 4:11 p.m.)
Chelsea are in command at the top of the group having picked up back to back wins to start with. They were both 1-0 victories over PAOK and MOL Vidi so it has been comfortable progress for them. It lends a bit of a trend towards under 2.5 goals at 13/8 odds* (betting odds taken on October 23rd, 2018 at 3:31 pm). They aren’t sending out their strongest starting eleven for these games and haven’t been troubled at all. They frankly should have scored more goals though.
Chelsea have never before met a side from Belarus. In their only previous Europa League campaign which was back in 2013, Chelsea won the title. That was after dropping from the Champions League group stage, so this is their first Europa League group stage campaign. The home win over Video on match day two snapped a run of three straight European home draws that Chelsea had posted.
They actually haven’t lost a group stage home game in European competition since back in 2013. That’s a run of twelve games since then, with Chelsea winning nine of those. Chelsea to win to nil is at 8/13* (betting odds taken on October 23rd, 2018 at 3:31 pm) to see them continue their form so far in the group stage. If you are looking for a goalscorer option then Olivier Giroud scored for Arsenal in both games against BATE in last season’s group stage competition.
This will be the first meeting between Chelsea and BATE
BATE have a W1 L1 record so far from their two games in the group and their points were earned against Vidi. But they took a bit of a harrowing home defeat on match day two as they were thumped 4-1 by PAOK. BATE are one of 12 domestic champions who are in the group stage of this season’s’ Europa League, Chelsea are one of 10 domestic cup holder. They are on course to win their 13th domestic title on the bounce, their season finishing soon.
They have faced English opposition before and their first game in England was at Everton in the 2009/10 Europa League group stage which saw them take a surprise 1-0 win at Everton. On their return to England last season when they faced Arsenal, they were smashed 6-0 at the Emirates which was after losing 4-2 at home against the Gunners.
In their European campaign this season, they were in the Champions League qualifiers but suffered a loss against PSV Eindhoven 6-2 on aggregate in the playoff round. A Chelsea 2-0 correct score option is at 5/1 odds* (betting odds taken on October 23rd, 2018 at 3:31 pm) as the visitors may well struggle to get into this game. Their overall form on the road in the group stage of the Europa League is W3 D3 L4 and were on a four-match winless away streak before their win at Vidi on match day one.
This should be another comfortbale return of points for Chelsea. They have blanked their other two opponents pretty easily in the group so far and we are going to back this one to go the same way. Chelsea to win to nil.
