Tottenham News and Form

Tottenham miraculously pulled themselves through to the knockout stage of this season’s Champions League with a dramatic 1-1 draw at Barcelona on matchday six. They got here and that’s all that matters. Each of the four previous fixtures between Spurs and BVB have happened in the last three years. They first met in the 2015/16 Europa League with Dortmund winning 5-1 on aggregate in the round of sixteen. Then in the Champions League group stage last year, Spurs took back to back wins over the Germans. Both teams have scored in three for their four previous matches.

Tottenham are in their third round of sixteen tie. They are W1 L1 from the previous two. Spurs are still looking for their first ever home win in a Champions League knockout match (D1 L2). They have scored just one goal in those three games. Spurs were on an unbeaten W6 D1 record at home against German sides before Dortmund turned up in 2016. With a defeat against Bayern Leverkusen in November, Spurs are W1 L2 in their last three home games against German sides. Spurs are W4 L3 though in two-legged ties against German opponent. Spurs have, however, lost their last two.

Borussia Dortmund News and Form

Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga at the moment. They also topped their group in the Champions League, finishing level with Atletico Madrid on points but winning the head to head. This is the fifth time that Dortmund have been in the round of sixteen, the last one was in 2016/17 when they recovered at home after a first leg loss at Benfica. BVB are W3 L1 in their four previous round of sixteen ties. They have, however, won only one of their last six knockout phase matches in UEFA competition (D2 L3).

Borussia Dortmund have been in five previous two-legged ties against English opposition and from that they are W3 L2. Their most recent was a loss against Liverpool in the 2015/16 Europa League quarterfinals. Dortmund have lost three of their last four visits to England, the one exception a defeat at Spurs in 2016. Overall BVB are W4 D1 L7 in their previous twelve tips to England. Dortmund have actually only won two of their last eleven away matches in Europe.

Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund Tips & Odds

Over 2.5 goals at 4/5
Both teams to score at 4/6
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 11:07 p.m.)

Who will win – Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund Predictions

It’s a tough match to call really as Spurs are going well at the moment without Harry Kane, but Dortmund are a powerful attacking side, the likes of which Spurs don’t meet too often. It’s worth just having a look at the game being a high scoring one over 2.5 goals.

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 11:07 p.m.)

Ajax News and Form

Ajax got through in second place from their group, when they found themselves up against top German opposition in the form of Bayern Munich. Incidentally, Ajax drew both of their games against Bayern in the group. This is the first time since 2006 that Ajax are in the round of sixteen and have never managed to win a round of sixteen tie in the competition. They have more weight of history against them too. They are on a six-match losing streak against Real Madrid currently, shipping 20 goals and scoring just two in that sequence.

Their only previous appearance at this stage was in the 2005/06 season against Inter. Ajax are without a win in their last six knockout stage matches (D2 L4). They are currently on a five-match winless streak of form at home in knockout stage matches too. Their last home win at this stage happened against Borussia Dortmund in the 1995/96 season. Ajax have won only two of their last fourteen games against Spanish opposition (D1 L11). Their record in two-legged ties against Spanish sides though is a positive W7 D2. Ajax are undefeated in 2018/19 European games (W7 D5).

Real Madrid News and Form

Reigning champions Real Madrid have won their last nine two-legged European ties. From their previous head to head against Ajax, Real Madrid are W7 D1 L4 from twelve previous encounters. Real Madrid won a big derby match at Atletico Madrid on the weekend and that continued their much-improved form. The Spaniards have been to at least the semi finals in each of the last eight seasons of the Champions League.

Real Madrid knocked out PSG at this stage last season. Real Madrid hold as W6 L3 record from the previous two-legged tie against Dutch opposition. This is their first since meeting Vitesse in the 1992/032 UEFA Cup. Real Madrid have won five of their last six trips to the Netherlands and they are W5 D2 L1 overall there. Their only loss was against Ajax in 1995. In this season’s group stage Real Madrid finished top of Group G, despite them losing both of their games against CSKA Moscow (who finished bottom). Los Merengues have won 26 of their last 39 European matches (D7 L6).

Ajax v Real Madrid Tips & Odds

Real Madrid to win outright at 17/20
Under 2.5 goals at 6/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 11:07 p.m.)

Who will win – Ajax v Real Madrid Predictions

This is a tough game for Ajax, who did alright in the group stage against Bayern in the group stage. Real Madrid have hit some good form for themselves and go and sneak themselves a narrow win in a low scoring game in Amsterdam.

Roma v Porto Prediction & Betting Tips, 12th February 2019

UEFA Champions League Betting

Roma v Porto Champions League Preview, 12th February 8.00pm

The interesting thing about this round of sixteen clash in the UEFA Champions League is that Porto have never lost against Italian side Roma. In fact, the Portuguese side won impressively on their last visit to the Stadio Olimpico. Read our Roma v Porto betting tips for more.

Roma v Porto Betting Odds*

Roma 21/20
Draw 12/5
Porto 5/2
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 7:23 p.m.)

Roma News and Form

Roma finished second in their group in the Champions League this season. They took a W3 L3 record from their fixtures, the Italians finishing three points behind Real Madrid. Against Real Madrid, Roma suffered 3-0 and 2-0 defeats. The other defeat which they suffered in the group stage was on matchday six against Viktoria Plzen which means that the Italians have lost back to back games in the competition.

Roma were semi-finalists last season where they were beaten by Liverpool. Roma has returned a W3 L3 record in their previous round of sixteen ties in the Champions League. Last season at this stage they beat Shakhtar Donetsk, their second leg win in that tie snapping a five-match losing streak they were on round of sixteen matches. From six previous knockout ties against Portuguese sides, Roma are W3 L3. Their overall record against Portuguese teams is W5 D4 L2. Roma have won eight of their last 16 home matches in the UEFA Champions League (including qualifying).

Roma v Porto Head to Head

There have been four previous matches between them
Porto hold a W2 D2 record against Roma
Porto won 3-0 on their last visit to the Stadio Olimpico

Porto News and Form

It was at this stage last season that Porto were knocked out of the Champions League. They were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by Liverpool. Proto have only managed the one win in their last five ties. They are back at this stage for the third season on the bounce now but have failed to get to the quarterfinals since the 2014/15 season. So it’s not been great from them at this stage of the competition, but they have a W5 L4 record in two-legged ties against Italian sides in Europe.

Porto knocked out Roma in the 1981/82 European Cup Winners’ Cup. The next time they met them they picked up a 4-1 aggregate win over the Italians in the 2016/17 Champions League playoffs. Currently, Porto are on a five-match unbeaten streak of form in the Champions League away from home (W2 D3). They have actually won only three of their last nine games on the road in Europe (D4 L2). They did produce some fantastic form in the group stage, winning their last five games in a row to finish top of their pile. With their sixteen points collected in their group stage games, Porto earned more points than any other team.

Roma v Porto Tips & Odds

Porto +0.50 Asian Handicap at 4/5
Over 3.5 goals at 10/11
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 7:23 p.m.)

Who will win – Roma v Porto Predictions

There is a bit of a temptation to have a look at Porto coming up with something in this one. They did really well in the group stage and may not be particularly phased by this trip to Rome. The +0.50 Asian Handicap on the visitors appeals which sees a payout as a win if they draw.

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on February 10th, 2019 at 7:23 p.m.)

Manchester United News and Form

Life is continuing to go well for the Red Devils who picked up another league win on the weekend. This will actually be the first ever competitive meeting between United and PSG. Manchester United only qualified in second place in their group behind Juventus. It wasn’t a comfortable ride for them at all. Last season Manchester United were knocked out at this stage by Sevilla. In the second leg of that tie, United lost 2-1 at home, ending a 21-match unbeaten run of home form in Europe.

United have lost two for their last three home games at this stage of the Champions League. During the group stage, they went W1 D1 L1 at Old Trafford. Manchester United have lost only lost five of their last 26 European games (W16 D5). Against French sides in two-legged affairs, United have won six of seven. The Reds are on a three-match winning streak at home against French sides. Their overall home record against French sides is W10 D3 L0. They have won ten of their last eleven games in all competitions now, scoring in each of their last seventeen.

PSG News and Form

PSG have lost Neymar to a long term injury, and on the weekend, Edinson Cavani picked up a knock which could keep him out of this tie. PSG topped their group, a competitive group it was as well, beating out Liverpool and Napoli along the way, finishing with a W3 D2 L1 record. PSG have gone out at this stage in their last two Champions League campaign. They hold an overall W4 L2 record in round of sixteen two-legged ties in the competition. They have won three of their six previous two-legged knockout ties against English sides.

PSG have scored in each of their last 22 Champions League games and against Liverpool in the group stage, they lost 3-2 at Anfield before winning 2-1 back on home soil. That home win was their first win over an English side in six (D3 L2). The French champions have only ever won one game in England, which was at Chelsea in 2016, part of an overall W1 D4 L5 record in England. They have beaten English opponents twice at this stage of the Champions League, both times against Chelsea in 2014/15 and in 2015/16. PSG have won nine of their last eleven games in all competitions (L2) and have scored 31 goals in that sequence.

Manchester United v PSG Tips & Odds

Who will win – Manchester United v PSG Predictions

There has to be a good opportunity here for Manchester United to get something going on home soil in this tie. PSG aren’t at their strongest and have a pretty poor record in England. Manchester United to win.

Manchester City

Manchester City v Hoffenheim Champions League Preview, 12th December 8.00pm

The job at hand isn’t quite complete for Man City in their Champions League group stage. They need a point out of this one to secure top spot and potentially get a more favourable draw for the knockouts. Hoffenheim though will turn up at the Etihad with something to play for. Maximum points would put them through to the UEFA Europa League. Read our Manchester City v Hoffenheim betting tips for more.

Manchester City v Hoffenheim Betting Odds*

Man City 1/7
Draw 7/1
Hoffenheim 14/1
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 11th, 2018 at 1:51 p.m.)

Manchester City News and Form

All that Manchester City need out of this game is a point and that guarantees them top spot. After their shock home defeat against Lyon on match day one, City have recovered so well to put themselves in top spot. After a 2-2 draw in Lyon on match day five, Manchester City have won just four of their last ten Champions League games actually. So far at home, this season in the competition City lost that game against Lyon before smashing Shakhtar out of sight. City have won six of their nine previous home games against German opposition (D2 L1). They have also produced eleven goals in their last three home fixtures against Bundesliga clubs too. In their last four Champions League home games City are just W1 D1 L2.

City have won ten of their last twelve in all competitions so have strong current form behind them. They had their first Premier League loss of the season on the weekend as Chelsea got the better of them at Stamford Bridge. Manchester City have won 14 of their 17 games since losing to Lyon on match day one of this season’s Champions League. Five times this season they have scored at least five goals in a game. City are W24 D4 L2 in their last 30 games in all competitions. Sergio Aguero is on a six-match scoring streak in Champions League away games but he has been out of action since a groin problem on matchday five.

Manchester City v Hoffenheim Head to Head

The matchday two meeting was the first game between the two clubs

Hoffenheim News and Form

Hoffenheim have something to play for in what is their debut Champions League campaign. They could still get third. In order for them to do so, they would need to win this and hope that Shakhtar lose on the night against Lyon. The Germans have three points from three draws in the group so far. Last season Hoffenheim had their first ever encounter against English opposition as they lost both legs of the Champions League play-off tie against Liverpool.

Die Kraichgauer have collected only one win in their thirteen European games. Both teams have scored in all 13 of Hoffenheim’s European games. At the Etihad, on Wednesday night they will be looking to secure their first ever European away win (D3 L3). They have suffered a defeat in three of their last nine European games. Across all competitions, Hoffenheim have failed to bank themselves a win. Naturally, they are going to be strong underdogs for this fixture.

Manchester City v Hoffenheim Tips & Odds

Valencia v Manchester United Prediction & Betting Tips, 12th December 2018

Manchester United

Valencia v Manchester United Champions League Preview, 12th December 8.00pm

There’s little at stake in this one. Valencia are going nowhere as they have secured third place in the group already. As for Manchester United, they have managed to secure qualification with a game to spare. They have a chance at winning the group, but they have to win this and hope that somehow Juventus fail to beat Young Boys on the night. Read our Valencia v Manchester United betting tips for more.

Valencia v Manchester United Betting Odds*

Valencia 31/20
Manchester United 7/4
Draw 9/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 11th, 2018 at 1:51 p.m.)

Valencia News and Form

Valencia will be finishing in third place in the group so there is nothing at stake for them here. They opened their home account with a defeat against Juventus, before beating Young Boys at the Mestalla. Valencia had been on a four-match losing streak in Europe before they took a point against Manchester United on matchday two. Los Blanqui Negros have lost four of their last six home games in the competition proper. They have collected just the two wins in their last seven at the Mestalla (D1) in Europe overall.

Their home record against Premier League sides is W8 D5 L4. The last Premier League side they hosted was Swansea in the 2013/14 Europa League group stage and Valencia lost that game 3-0. The Spaniards have collected one win in their last six home games against English Premier League sides (D1 L4). The last time they hosted Man Utd they lost 1-0 in the 2010/11 group stage after conceding late on in the game. After a run of one win in 13 games in all competitions, Valencia have won five of their last nine so have found a bit of form. This is their first European campaign after a two-year absence

Valencia v Manchester United Head to Head

Five of the previous six meetings have ended in a draw
Six of their nine overall meetings have ended level
United won their last trip to the Mestalla 1-0 in the 2010/11 group stage
United are W2 D6 L1 against Valencia
The Red Devils have not conceded in three visits to the Mestalla

Manchester United News and Form

Manchester United took a 1-0 home win over Young Boys last time out on match day five. A stoppage-time winner from Marouane Fellaini in that game eased huge pressure off the Red Devils. They can go to Spain now knowing they have already qualified for the next round. United have won both away games in the group, 3-0 at Young Boys and 2-1 at Juventus. The Red Devils have suffered only one defeat in their last 11 European away games (W7 D3). Manchester United have conceded only five goals in their last 11 European road games, so that’s actually pretty strong.

Home and away Manchester United are W16 D5 L4 in their last 25 European fixtures. Their form against Spanish sides isn’t great as they have won just two of their last 14 matches against Spanish clubs (D6 L6), a run of games which includes their draw at home against Valencia earlier in the group. Manchester United have one loss in their last nine games in Spain though (W2 D6). The Red Devils have scored just the one goal in their last three visits to the Mestalla. Their current form in all competitions has seen United win just six of their last 16 matches in all competitions. In all competitions, this season United are W5 D2 L3 away from home and have just two clean sheet away from Old Trafford. They have to win and hope that Juventus don’t in order to claim top spot in the group.

Valencia v Manchester United Tips & Odds

We can’t look past the draw in this one. While Valencia have no interest in the game and it’s not too realistic to expect Juventus to not beat Young Boys. This could just be one of those games that fail to get going. Draw.

The drama in Group B is going down to the wire. Inter have a comfortable game against PSV at home to round off. PSV are finishing fourth in the group no matter what. Inter can take second place ahead of Spurs as long as they pick up more points than the Lilywhites manage to get at the Nou Camp against Barcelona. Read our Inter v PSV betting tips for more.

Inter 3/10

* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 11th, 2018 at 1:51 p.m.)

Inter News and Form

The only way that Inter get through to the next round of the competition is by picking up more points than Spurs do on Tuesday night. Spurs are at Barcelona just to put things into context. Regardless of what happens, they are guaranteed at least third place. Their home games in the group have seen Inter beat Spurs and hold out for a draw against Barcelona. So that’s been hugely positive. They were on a three-match winning streak at home in Europe before they took that draw against Barcelona. The Nerazzurri are the last Italian team to win the Champions League (2010). In each of their last eight Champions League campaigns, they have gotten past the group stage.

This is their first appearance though since the 2011/12 season in the group stage of the Champions League. They have great form against Dutch opposition having gone undefeated in their last ten (W7 D3). They have won each of their last four home games against Dutch opposition. Their most recent home fixture against a side from the Netherlands ended in a 1-0 win for Inter over Twente in the 2010/11 Champions League group stage. Inter have won only one of their last six in all competitions (D2 L3) in their current form. Mauro Icardi has scored 11 goals in 14 games in all competitions

Inter v PSV Head to Head

Inter and PSV met in the 2007/08 UCL group stage
Inter won both meetings
PSV lost 2-0 at the San Siro on that group stage visit

PSV News and Form

This game has no consequence for PSV who will finish bottom of the group regardless so don’t even have Europa League action to fall back on. They have lost four of their five group stage games so far (D1). The draw in that sequence was a thrilling 2-2 one at home against Tottenham. They are the reigning Dutch champions and they went up against Belarusian champions BATE in the play-off stage to make it through to what is their 16th group stage campaign of the Champions League. Their first-leg win at BATE is their only away win in their last 13 Europa fixtures (D4 L8)

In this group stage campaign away from home they lost 4-0 at Barcelona and 2-1 at Tottenham and have been short of quality. The last time they were in the group stage (2016/17) they failed to win a game (D2 L4). They are now winless in their last 13 Champions League fixtures (D5 L8) not including qualifying. Their last European away win was in 2007 at CSKA Moscow. They suffered a 3-0 defeat at the San Siro against AC Milan in their last trip to Italy. That snapped a three-match undefeated streak of games in Italy for them (W2 D1). Luuk de Jong has 15 goals in his last 16 games for PSV

Inter v PSV Tips & Odds

Inter to win to nil at 13/10
Under 2.5 goals at 13/8

Who will win – Inter v PSV Predictions

PSV have come up short in the group and have no interest in this game. Inter have to be fully switched on and they should be good enough on home turf to see off their Dutch opponents. Inter to win to nil looks a solid proposition.

Liverpool v Napoli Champions League Preview, 11th December 8.00pm

GrouP C has really lived up to its top billing. Liverpool have to win on Tuesday night to have any chance of getting through. That is the simple part of it all. However, if PSG beat Red Star Belgrade on the night, which they are expected to do, Liverpool have to beat Napoli 1-0 or by a margin of at least two goals to pip the Italians into second place. There’s an exciting climax to come. Read our Liverpool v Napoli betting tips for more.

Liverpool v Napoli Betting Odds*

Liverpool 4/7
Draw 7/2
Napoli 15/4
* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on December 11th, 2018 at 1:51 p.m.)

Liverpool News and Form

The Reds have the chance to progress but have to win this game in order to do that. If PSG beat Red Star on the night as well, then Liverpool have to win 1-0 or by two goals (at least). In their home games so far in the group, Liverpool took wins over both PSG and Red Star, scoring seven goals in those two fixtures. Last season they averaged over three goals per game in the Champions League. Surprisingly though the Reds have lost five of their last seven European fixtures. All five of the defeats in that sequence were out on the road though. As a boost of confidence, they finished the Premier League weekend top of the league.

They have taken a win in each of their last four home games in all competitions this season. They also have good home record against Italian opposition at W7 D0 L4. That is part of an overall record of W10 D5 L13 that Liverpool hold against Italian teams. The last time that they got to host an Italian side was in last season’s semi-final when they went up against Roma. Liverpool beat them 5-2 at Anfield. Liverpool have lost two of their last four at home against Italian opposition though. In all competitions the Reds have picked up seven clean sheets in ten games, conceding in just one of their last four on Merseyside.

Liverpool v Napoli Head to Head

Things are even at W1 D1 L1 for each in three previous meetings
Napoli won 1-0 at home against Liverpool on matchday two
Liverpool won 3-1 in their one previous home game against Napoli (2010/11 Europa League)

Napoli News and Form

Napoli are undefeated in the group stage this campaign with a W2 D3 record so far. Out on their travels so far in the group, they were surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw at Red Star before playing out a draw at PSG too. Before that draw, at Red Star, they were on a four-match losing streak away from home in Europe. Still, they are winless in their last six on the road in European action at the moment. Last season they ended up third in their Champions League group stage campaign but only need to avoid defeat in this one to book a place in the next round.

They visited England last season and lost 2-1 at Man City in the group stage and they don’t have a great record in England. Napoli have lost all three of their previous Champions League trips to England. They are in good current form with an unbeaten 12 match streak under their belt (W8 D4) in all competitions. They have come up with at least two goals in each of their last four away games in all competitions and are without a defeat in any of their last four on their travels (W3 D1). Defensively there have been cracks before they have taken just the one clean sheet in their last six road games in all competitions.

Liverpool v Napoli Tips & Odds

Liverpool to win & both teams to score 15/8
Under 3.5 goals 8/13
(* betting odds taken from bet365 on December 9th, 2018 at 3:12 pm)

Who will win – Liverpool v Napoli Predictions

The Reds have to get on the front foot and being at home should certainly help them to do that. Napoli are likely going to be happy showing up and trying to get a draw on the board. But Liverpool are good enough to find a way to get the win. Liverpool to win & both teams to score.

Barcelona News and Form

The Catalans have already won this group in the Champions League having qualified for the next round at the end of match day four. Their home returns in the group so far have been a 4-0 win over PSV and a 2-0 success over Inter. Barcelona are now undefeated in 28 Champions League home games (W26 D2). Remarkably they have won all of their home games in their last five Group Stage campaign. The last time they lost a group stage home game was back in 2009 (W25 D2). They hosted an English side last season, beating Chelsea 3-0 in the round of sixteen.

Barcelona home record against English sides is W20 D11 L2. The Spaniards are on a five-match winning streak at home against English opposition. They have won seven of their last eight on home turf against Premier League sides. The Catalans are on a four-match winning streak in all competitions at the moment on home soil. Lionel Messi, who tormented Spurs in the first meeting this season, has scored 17 goals in 16 games in all competitions. He is the joint top scorer in this season’s Champions League alongside Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski (6 goals). In all competitions, Barcelona are W10 D4 L1 this season.

Tottenham News and Form

After losing their opening two games of the group stage, Spurs have done well to put themselves in with a chance of qualification. A win will get them through to the round of sixteen guaranteed. Otherwise, they have to try and not let Inter gain any points on them on the night or else they will be out. Away from home so far in the group, Spurs lost at Inter and draw at PSV in this season’s group stage. They have collected only the four wins in their last 17 European away games (D6 L7) which does appear to limit their chances of getting three points. Last season they took seven points on their travels.

Tottenham have a D2 L3 record from five previous visits to Spain. They have picked up just the two wins in their 13 previous games against Spanish opposition. They have taken a W2 D4 L7 in their 13 previous games against Spanish sides. They are showing great current form though with eight wins in their last nine games in all competition (L1). Out on their travels in all competitions they are W9 D1 L3 so are pretty good travellers. Harry Kane has seven goals in his last ten appearances in all competitions and they are going to need a big game from their main man.

Who will win – Barcelona v Tottenham Predictions

Barcelona don’t have anything at stake, but still, it’s not easy to beat them at the Nou Camp. Spurs have to be positive and press but that could still them vulnerable against a relaxed Barcelona side. Barcelona to win & both teams to score.

Tottenham News and Form

There is only one way that Spurs can keep their Champions League season alive. That is win in this game at Wembley on Wednesday night. That is the only way their top-two ambitions hanging in there. Three points will see them pull level with Inter. After losing their opening two games of the group against Inter and then Barcelona, Spurs managed to net four points from their two games against PSV to keep the door open for themselves.

Tottenham have lost only one of their eight previous home games against Italian opposition in at W4 D3 L1 record. So they have that going for them. They played host to Juventus in last season’s round of sixteen and lost 2-1 at Wembley. That was the scoreline by which they lost at Inter on matchday one of this season’s campaign, shipping two goals in the last four minutes.

Both teams to score is at 4/6 odds* (betting odds taken from November 26th, 2018 at 10:33 pm).

Tottenham’s overall record against Italian sides is W5 D7 L6 and they are in good form at the moment with a five-match winning streak in all competitions. That was after an impressive victory over Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday evening. Spurs have though only taken five clean sheets in 19 games this season. In the correct score market at Tottenham 3-1 result is at 12/1 odds* (betting odds taken from November 26th, 2018 at 10:33 pm). They have netted exactly three goals in each of their two previous home games against Inter. Harry Kane has scored five goals in his last six appearances for Tottenham.

Tottenham v Inter Head to Head

This will be the sixth match between the two of them
Each of the previous five have gone over 2.5 goal
All five previous meetings have produced a home win
Spurs have scored exactly three goals in their two previous home games against Inter
Both teams have scored in four of the five previous games

Inter News and Form

Inter do have the luxury of only needing to pick up a draw in this one. But they will know that Spurs are going to come hard at them in the early stages of this so their resolve will be tested. If they get at least a point they will join Barcelona in qualifying from this group. Inter are W2 D1 L1 in the group, having come from behind in both of their victories. They have qualified from their group in each of their last eight UEFA Champions League campaigns.

They were on a run of five straight away defeats in Europe before securing a 2-1 at PSV Eindhoven in this campaign, which was their first win in nine away games in Europe (D3 L5). The Nerazzurri have lost five of their last six trips to England (W1). Inter’s overall record in England is W4 D1 L10. This will be their first visit to England since a 2-1 defeat at Southampton in the group stage of the 2016 Europa League. Over 2.5 goals is at 4/6 for the Wembley clash* (betting odds taken from November 26th, 2018 at 10:33 pm) and they have form behind them as Inter have won ten of their last thirteen games in all competitions (D1 L2).

Who will win – Tottenham v Inter Predictions

Given that Tottenham have home advantage and they have nothing to be conservative about, the home win does appeal. Tottenham can just throw the kitchen sink at this win or bust scenario and come out on top. Home win.
