One more win and Atalanta make the Champions League. What a story it has been for them so far this season. Can they close out the deal? They picked up a 1-1 draw with Juventus last weekend in Turin, a game that Atalanta looked set to win until ten minutes from time. That snapped a four-match winning streak of form that Atalanta had been on. It did extend them to a twelve match undefeated streak of form though in Serie A.
Atalanta are unbeaten in their last six on home soil, winning four of those. Across the course of the season, they have produced a W9 D5 L4 record at home in the league. They have bagged themselves a clean sheet in 33% of those home games and they have averaged 1.8 goals per home fixture. 61% of Atalanta’s home games have gone over 2.5 goals. No team in Serie A has earned more points over the last eight rounds of action than Atalanta. They remain the top scorers in the division.
Atalanta claimed a 6-2 win over Sassuolo earlier this season
Atalanta are on a four-match winning streak against Sassuolo
Sassuolo are winless in ten against Atalanta
Atalanta leads the overall head to head W8 D4 L2
Sassuolo have not done a lot of winning recently, but they have been a tough side to beat. They are W2 D5 L1 in their last eight league games. The one defeat in that sequence did happen in their last away game which was at Torino. Overall this season Sassuolo have produced the four away wins only (D6 L8) and all four of those successes were against sides currently in the bottom half of the table.
Sassuolo have gone D1 L6 away from home against the current top seven in Serie A. They have averaged just a tiny bit over a goal per away game this season, but have taken a clean sheet in a third of their road fixtures. Five of their eight away losses for the season have been by a margin of just one goal. Sassuolo are on a five-match scoring streak on their travels currently. Only four teams in the top flight have conceded more goals than they have done though.
Atalanta should be able to deliver here. They have to take the game by the scruff of the neck and because there is bound to be some tensions, it is likely going to be a low scoring game. Atalanta to win to nil.

Juve have the title wrapped up and they are just W1 D2 L2 in their last five league games. They suffered a 2-0 away defeat against Roma last weekend. It’s no surprise though that they aren’t at their most competitive with the season over for them. Their home form for the season in the top flight is W15 D3 L0 so they do have the target of defending their undefeated home record. Juventus have won five of their last six on home soil, their most recent game there ending in a 1-1 draw against Torino.
Juve have averaged over two goals per home game, while they have conceded at well under a goal per game on average on home soil. In total Juventus have taken a clean sheet in 44% of their home games this season. Home and away combined though they have not taken a clean sheet in any of their last six played. Juventus have been leading at the halftime break in 10 of their 18 home games, and they have scored in each and every home game played. Juventus boast the best home record in the top flight.
Atalanta earned a 2-2 draw in the league at home against Juve in December
Atalanta beat Juventus 3-0 in this season’s Coppa Italia
Juventus are W34 D12 L5 in the overall head to head against Atalanta
Juventus are on a ten-match winning streak at home against Atalanta in all competitions
Atalanta are on a huge run of form at the moment. They are undefeated in their last eleven league games played now and in their last five on the road. They have won their last four top-flight games and are now standing on the brink of Champions League football next season. They still have a little bit of work to secure that and a win here guarantees that. Atalanta have a huge positive on their side in that they aren’t facing a Juventus who are in competitive mode and Atalanta are the top scorers in this season’s top flight. Their overall away record is a brilliant W10 D3 L5.
Atalanta have scored an average of 2.2 goals per away game this season and 72% of their road fixtures have made it over 2.5 goals. They have won four of their last five on the road (D1) and the draw in that sequence was at Inter Milan. In total, they have taken a clean sheet in just 17% of their road fixtures and six of their ten road victories have been by a margin of at least two goals. Atalanta have scored 65% of their away goals in the second period of games, while they have conceded 62% of their away goals after the halftime break. Only Juventus and Napoli have produced better away record than Atalanta have done this season in Serie A.
Atalanta should have a good chance at picking up a win in Turin. This is some perfect timing for them to be going to Juventus. Atalanta have been in great form and have the scoring power to make a good case for themselves. Atalanta to win.

Atalanta will get the chance to secure just their second ever Coppa Italia title in midweek. Their first one happened back in 1963. With their successes over Lazio during the regular season, they have reason to be confident. Lazio are six-time winners of the competition but they kick off as the underdogs for this tie. Atalanta are in great form at the moment with a long undefeated streak of form behind them. They are W9 D4 in their last thirteen games across all competitions now. They have won their last five games on the bounce and in that successful winning sequence was their 3-1 league success at Lazio in early May. Atalanta have scored at least two goals in each of their last five games now. They are currently on course to finish third in Serie A to reach the Champions League next season.
Atalanta opened their Coppa Italian campaign with a 2-0 win at Cagliari and then they pulled off the shock of this season’s tournament. That was a 3-0 home success over Juventus in the quarterfinals. They were then embroiled in a thrilling semi-final tussle against Fiorentina. The first leg was a 3-3 draw before Atalanta sealed the deal back at home with a 2-1 win. That put them through to their fourth Coppa Italia final. They won it in 1963 and were runners up in 1987 and most recently in 1996.
Atalanta won both league meetings with Lazio this season
Lazio are winless in their last four against Atalanta (W2 D2)
This will be the first Coppa Italia meeting between the two teams
Lazio lead the overall head to head W20 D13 L13
Lazio have some ground to make up to try and get a top-four finish in Serie A this season, just to put things into perspective for this game against Atalanta. Lazio have won three of their last four games played in all competitions, the one exception being the recent league defeat against Atalanta. Looking back at their expanded form a little bit they are W4 D1 L4 in their last nine played in all competitions. They have been having some struggles at the back a bit lately with just the one clean sheet earned in their last five played and with just two in their last nine.
It has actually been a strong campaign in the Coppa Italia by Lazio who opened with a 4-1 win over Novara. They then went up against Inter Milan in the quarterfinals, a tough game for them and Lazio took the win is a penalty shoot out at the San Siro. In the semifinals, it was AC Milan who they had to go cp against. After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, Lazio edged out a 1-0 win at the San Siro to get through. Lazio have won the Coppa Italia six times before, their last title coming back in the 2012/13 season.
Atalanta should have control on this big occasion. This isn’t likely to be a high scoring game between the two, but because Lazio have struggled against Atalanta this season and because Atalanta have a confident, long streak of undefeated of form behind them, they could pull it out. Atalanta to win.

Things haven’t quite been going Everton’s way after much optimism was surrounding them ahead of the new season. Wins and goals have been hard to come by. They take a trip out to Italy on Thursday night to face up to Italian side Atalanta. They haven’t been exactly running in great form of their own either but they will be looking forward to European action after a 26 year absence. Everton are 19/20 underdogs here out on the road with Atlanta at 11/8 and the draw at 23/10.

The Italians were a very good home side last season. They played out a draw with Juventus in Bergamo last term as well as beating Roma and Napoli, both top four finishers in Serie A. Overall they only lost three times at home last season. They took a home win over Sassuolo on the weekend in the Italian top flight, which snapped back to back defeats which came against Roma and Napoli. They are back in Europe then after a long 26 year absence since they were beaten in the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup by Inter Milan in the 1990/91 season. The Italians will meet Everton for the first time. This will be Atalanta’s first game against English opponents too. They are unbeaten in five home matches in Europe and they may well have a big say in this game which could be a tight contest. Under 2.5 goals at bet365 is trading at a price of 4/6.
Everton are lacking some firepower and they go into this off the back of a loss against Tottenham on the weekend in the Premier League. Everton have faced Italian sides before and they hold a W1 D2 L3 record from their six previous encounters with Serie A sides. Each of the defeats in that sequence happened out on the road. The Toffees have actually failed to score in five of their six previous games against Italian opponent and Atalanta to win to nil at bet365 returns a price of 11/4. Everton have remained unbeaten in their four European games this season (W3 D1) and they have lost just one of their last seven away games in UEFA competition with a W3 D3 L1 record. Everton have made it through all three of their previous UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League group stage campaigns, most recently in 2014/15. Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez and Andreas Cornelius are 2/1 joint favourites in the bet365 anytime goalscorer market.
Atalanta to win: At this stage, Everton have not been convincing enough to suggest that they can handle what appears to be a tricky away game in Europe. They really haven’t found their feet the season and may struggle to produce much in the way of offensive output on the road.

It is the final weekend of the league season in Italy and Atalanta are in with a chance of landing a top four finish. It’s not enough to get them into the Champions League next season, but they will be heading off to the Europa League next term. They need a win on the final day and hope that Lazio loses their game to snatch fourth from them. Chievo will finish comfortably in the bottom half of the table. Atalanta are 2/7 for the win, with the draw at 9/2 and Chievo at 17/2.

Atalanta have produced a very solid season then in Serie A and can still finish as high as fourth. They need to win this one to have a shot at that. Atalanta have gone W11 D4 L3 at home this season in the top flight and they are unbeaten in their last ten league home games as well in a W6 D4 record. So it’s been impressive stuff from them and they fired off a big 4-1 away win over them this season. Atalanta have won their last two games against them and they have lost just one of their last eight against Cheivo as well (W3 D4). So they probably aren’t going to lose this one and it is worth looking at under 2.5 goals at Bet365 for a price of 13/5 as four of the last five meetings between these two have ended up under the goal line. Atalanta are unbeaten in their last five league games at home against Chievo (W3 D2). Alejandro Gomez has scored three goals in four league appearances for Atlanta against Chievo, including a brace in their previous game of this season and he is a price of 4/6 in the anytime goalscorer market.
Chievo are done for the season as they will finish in the bottom half of the table. They would have to win this and hope for other results to go their way to finish in 12th, the highest that they can get. They aren’t in great form though as they have won just the one of their last nine games in Serie A (D2 L6). So they aren’t going to be a major threat and they have been below par out one the road this season in Serie A, having gone W6 D2 L10 away from home all term. They have lost four of their last six on the road (W1 D1). Striker Roberto Inglese has reached double figure goals for the first time in Serie A and seven of those ten goals have been the road. He is a 5/2 option in the anytime goalscorer market. Chievo have conceded an average of 2.6 goals per game in this period and in the bet365 correct score market an Atalanta 2-0 result is a 17/2 quote. They are playing for nothing in this one and probably aren’t going to compete that that strongly.
Atalanta home win: Atalanta have a bit of home form going over Chievo and with the visitors turning up with nothing at stake, the home side should strike the victory and it’s worth backing them to win to nil as well.
