Swansea v Manchester United EFL Cup Prediction & Betting Tips – 24th October 2017

Swansea v Manchester United EFL Cup, 24th October 7.45pm

Swansea pretty much have nothing to lose as they go as underdogs on Tuesday night against Manchester United the EFL Cup. The Swans dropped more league points on the weekend and probably won’t be looking at this as a high priority. Manchester United have a big game against Spurs coming up on the weekend, but the Red Devils could still send out a relatively strong side in this one. Swansea are 7/1 underdogs at William Hill with the draw at 10/3 and Man Utd at 1/2.

Swansea v Manchester United EFL Cup Betting Tips

Swansea’s situation in the Premier League isn’t great at the moment with them sat only on eight points, which is level with Everton who are third from bottom. They suffered a tough loss at home against Leicester on the weekend and with the home form that they have been carrying this season, they won’t be expected to win this one. The Swans have posted W1 L4 record at the Liberty Stadium this season now and if your home form isn’t there, that is a huge concern. Swansea’s EFL Cup successes this season have come out on the road in having beaten MK Dons and Reading, scoring at least two goals in each of them. The on-loan Tammy Abraham still looks a great positive for them and he is at 10/3 in the William Hill anytime goalscorer market. This is probably not going to be a game which produces a lot of goals and the temptation is to go under 2.5 goals at a price of 9/10 because Manchester United will probably just show up and be somewhat cautious in ensuring that they book passage without too much exertion.

Swansea lost 4-0 against United at home back in August in the Premier League and that’s back to back home defeats against the Red Devils for the Swans. Manchester United were terrible on the weekend as they lost at Huddersfield 2-1 to break their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. They will have one eye on a big game against Spurs on the weekend as well. The Red Devils have scored in all but one of their matches this season and Romelu Lukaku is the 4/6 favourite in the William Hill correct score market with Marcus Rashford at 7/5. Jose Mourinho likes a run in the League Cup and won’t take this too lightly. Manchester United to win to nil at William Hill is a price of 5/4 and United have taken five clean sheets in their last nine. Coupled with Swansea having only scored in four of their last nine against Premier League opposition, then it looks value. United have a W4 D1 L1 record away from home this season with four clean sheets in all competitions. The shortest priced option in the correct score market is a Manchester United 1-0 at 11/2 with the 2-0 at 6/1.

Who will win – Swansea v Manchester United EFL Cup Predictions

Manchester United to win: The Red Devils were poor on the weekend but they should be solid enough against what is likely to be a much-changed Swansea side in this one. The Swans generally struggle against big six opposition and United will be efficient enough to win this to nil.
