Swansea v Huddersfield Prediction & Betting Tips – 14th October 201711th October 2017 / lee
Swansea v Huddersfield Premier League, 14th October 3.00pm
The Swans are in a heap of bother as they resume their season in the bottom three and a lack of goals has really been hurting them. They have just the three league goals in seven games this season and this is probably going to be a low scoring affair against Huddersfield. The Terriers are winless in their last five now after the bright start but will probably be targeting a win in this one. Swansea are 11/10 at Ladbrokes to take the win at the Liberty, with the draw at 9/4 and Huddersfield at 13/5.
Swansea v Huddersfield Betting Tips
It has been a pretty joyless season for Swansea who are sat in the bottom three of the table going into this one. They have done a lot worse on home soil than they have done at home as they have lost all three of their home fixtures so far, shipping seven goals and scoring just the one. This is probably going to be a low scoring game and under 2.5 at Ladbrokes fetches a price of 8/15. It looks pretty sound outcome to expect as five of Swansea’s seven league games this season have gone under the mark. The Swans are on a two match losing streak in the top flight and have collected just the one point from their last four league outings, which was in a good battling draw out at Tottenham.
Last Six League Head to Head
Huddersfield 0 – 1 Swansea
Swansea 0 – 1 Huddersfield
Huddersfield 3 – 2 Swansea
Swansea 1 – 2 Huddersfield
Swansea 2 – 2 Huddersfield
Huddersfield 3 – 1 Swansea
Because of the low-scoring seasons that these two are having it may be worth pushing the boat under 1.5 goals at 13/8. The last time these two were together was in the 2007/08 League One season and the two of them traded 1-0 away wins. In the Ladbrokes correct score market, there is a price of 5/1 on a Swansea 1-0 and 8/1 on a Huddersfield 1-0 result. The Swans desperately need a boost to get them out of this slump but there hasn’t looked any kind of offensive threat from them this season. They have scored just the three league goals in total and up in the anytime goalscorer market, Jordan Ayew is the 13/5 favourite with Leroy Fer at 15/4. This is a game which they can’t really afford to be losing.
Current League Form (most recent last)
The Terriers opened the season with a bang, landing back to back wins but they haven’t picked one up since and they have gone D3 L2 in their last five matches. Away from home in the top flight, they have posted a W1 D1 L1 record and they have failed to hit the back of the net in their last two, a defeat at West Ham and a draw at Burnley. Both teams not to score at Ladbrokes in this one looks big value at 4/6 while you have a quote of 21/10 on Swansea to win to nil and a 9/2 option on Huddersfield to win to nil as well. While Swansea have had their issues this season in front of goal the Terriers have managed just one in their last five.
Huddersfield have been at 0-0 in five of their seven league games this season at the break. Although there isn’t really any recent history between the two of them, Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last three trips to Swansea, winning their last two there, both by a one goal margin. They do look as if they have more to offer going forward than Swansea do with the likes of Collin Quaner and Elias Kachunga who are around the 7/2 mark in the anytime goalscorer and they are backed up well by playmaker Aaron Mooy. The loss of Steve Mounie to injury has been a big blow to them though. But they do look solid enough in defence with four clean sheets this season to go and hold their own down in South Wales.
Who will win – Swansea v Huddersfield Predictions
Huddersfield to win: Tough game to call with a lack of goals and a tight defence from both. This could be a chance for the Terriers to get something going again and they do offer just that little bit extra going forward over the Swans.
