Sunderland v Nottingham Forest Championship, 12th September 7.45pm

The Black Cats are finding the going pretty tough in the Championship, with just the one win on the board all season and now they have tanked to three straight defeats. Will they be able to stop the rot on Tuesday night when Nottingham Forest come to visit? Forest have been disappointing in some recent big games and they won’t fill punters with a great deal of confidence either. This is an interesting battle between two sides who could really use a win. Sunderland are 21/20 to take the win, with the draw at 12/5 and Forest are at 5/2.

Sunderland v Nottingham Forest Betting Tips

So Sunderland are in the weeds then. The Black Cats have only gone W1 D2 L3 for the season in the second tier and they have lost their last three on the bounce as well, shipping seven goals in the process as well. Their home record has seen them collect only the one point in three games and that was in their home opener. They suffered a home loss against the newly promoted Sheffield United on the weekend and the alarm bells are ringing around the Stadium of Light at the moment. They have failed to score in two of their last three games now but they have won their last two on home soil against Forest, both with a clean sheet as well. Sunderland to win to nil at Coral offers a quote of 12/5. This is the first meeting between the two sides though since a League Cup tie in August 20078 which Sunderland won away. Their last home game against the Tricky Trees was in 2004 which they won 2-0.

Both teams not to score at Coral is a price of even money and both teams have scored in just one of the last five league games between the two sides. Sunderland have Lewis Grabban at 5/4 in the anytime goalscorer market, while Forest’s Daryl Murphy is a decent 7/4 punt. Forest are struggling as well at the moment with back to back defeats having been suffered. They hold a W3 L3 record from their six league games this season and two of those three defeats happened out on the road. They lost 3-1 at Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend. They have conceded eight goals in three away games this season. In the Coral correct score market, a 1-1 draw is the shortest priced option at 11/2. Forest’s back to back defeats against Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday perhaps shows that they don’t the quality when it comes to big clutch games. They remain a little vulnerable at the back.

Who will win – Sunderland v Nottingham Forest Predictions

Draw: The draw will have the most appeal in this one. Neither side looks as if they have quite enough about them to pull out a win at the moment and with Sunderland winless at the Stadium of Light so far and Forest having lost their last two away games, settle on the draw.
