Scotland v Costa Rica Prediction & Betting Tips – 23rd March 201821st March 2018 / lee
Scotland v Costa Rica International Friendly, 23rd March
Costa Rica will be off to the World Cup in the summer having finished in second place in the CONCACAF qualifiers. Scotland, unfortunately, won’t be making the same summer trips as despite a late surge of form in their qualification group, couldn’t get across the line.
Scotland v Costa Rica Odds*
Scotland 23/20, Draw 19/10, Costa Rica 12/5* (Betting Odds taken at 10:09 p.m. on March 20th, 2018)
Scotland v Costa Rica Betting Tips
The Scots have actually failed to win any of their last four friendly matches. Their last game was back in November as they faced up to the Netherlands and suffered a 1-0 loss. That leaves them W3 D1 L1 in their last five games played. Each of Scotland’s last three home games have finished with less than three goals in them, so under 2.5 goals at Ladbrokes for 8/15 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 10:09 p.m. on March 20th, 2018) looks to be a sound option right out of the gates. Alex McLeish has come in to take over the challenge of getting the Scots to the finals of a major tournament now, taking over from Gordon Strachan. No doubt he will be having a few different ideas about what to do and a defeat in this one would be a poor start. In the Ladbrokes correct score market, the 1-1 draw is the shortest-priced option at 5/1* (Betting Odds taken at 10:09 p.m. on March 20th, 2018).
This will be just the second time that Costa Rica and Scotland have met. Their previous encounter was back at the 1990 World Cup with Costa Rica taking a 1-0 win on that occasion. That then is the sum of their previous history.
Costa Rica are heading off to the World Cup after finishing behind Mexico in their qualification zone. Their two wins over the USA is part of the reason why the Americans won’t be heading to Russia this summer. Los Ticos have just lost a bit of form though having failed to win any of their last five played. They went D2 L1 in their final World Cup qualifiers before losing back to back friendly matches last November against Spain and Hungary. They are not going to go out and run up big score lines against anyone really and both teams not to score at Ladbrokes isn’t a bad poke at 3/4 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 10:09 p.m. on March 20th, 2018). There’s probably plenty of tinkering to come from them in their World Cup build ups.
Who will win – Scotland v Costa Rica Predictions
There surely has to be a good opportunity here for Scotland to get a win on the board in this one and put the disappointments of their World Cup campaign behind them. Costa Rica are out of form and the Scots can deliver a home win.
