Reading v Cardiff Championship, 11th December 8.00pm
The Royals have started to find their feet a little bit in the Championship with back to back wins and they have started to climb the table. So while they have been improving their form they get a tremendously tough game in his one against the high-flying Cardiff. The Bluebirds are looking to extend their winning streak to five in the league in this one and they are 6/4 to win with Betfair, leaving Reading at 9/5 and the draw at 9/4.
Reading v Cardiff Betting Tips
The Royals have strung together a four match unbeaten streak of form in the second tier and they have lost just the one of their last seven games now. So it’s all looking much better for them after having struggled to land victories this term. They have gone W2 D1 L1 in their last four at the Madejski which is a big improvement having won one of their opening six there this term. Overall they are W3 D3 L4 at home this season in the league. The Royals have scored eleven and have conceded eleven goals at home this season and only 40% of their home fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals. So it is worth looking at under the goal line at Betfair for the game. Top scorer for the Reading this season is Modou Barrow with five and he netted a brace in their last outing, a 3-1 win at Sunderland. Can they make it three consecutive league wins for the first time this season?
They can take some heart from last season’s meeting with the Bluebirds as Reading won both of them and they have only lost one their last six against the Welsh club in all competitions now (W3 D2 L1). At home, they are on a three match unbeaten streak against Cardiff (W1 D2) and the two draws were both 1-1. The 1-1 correct score at Betfair returns a price of 5/1 and six of the last nine clashes between these two have ended either 1-1 or in a 2-1 victory for someone. Reading have scored at least two goals in six of their seven victories this season and in each of their last four league wins. They have taken two clean sheets in their last three games as well so maybe things are coming together but they are facing a good Cardiff side and are therefore a risk to win this to nil. More realistic is the both teams to score option at William Hill.
Cardiff are a powerhouse at the moment with a four match winning streak going and a fantastic W6 D1 L1 record in their last eight. They have conceded only the one goal in their last four league games and they are boasting a great away record this season which reads W6 D1 L3 in the league. They have won their last two out on the road and overall home and away, they have the best defensive record in the top flight this seasons. They have shipped on the 14 goals in their 20 matches in which they have taken nine clean sheets. So they are defensively strong and that could help keep the score down in this one. Cardiff have scored 64% of their away goals after the break and Danny Ward is trading as a 5/2 anytime goalscorer option for them in this one. The Bluebirds have conceded just the nine goals away from home this season, which is at under a goal per game and only 40% of their away games have gone over 2.5 goals.
Who will win – Reading v Cardiff Predictions
Cardiff have to be the value option for the fixture on Monday night. They are in tremendously strong form at the moment and an away game isn’t going to phase them. The Welsh club are so strong at the back and have the scoring power to collect three points.
