Preston News and Form
Preston had a slip on the weekend as they suffered a 1-0 loss at Reading. That snapped their wonderful eight-match undefeated streak of form (W5 D3). Their home form is still fantastic though as they have taken a W5 D1 record from their six games and their scoring rate has been high at Deepdale. Preston have averaged 3 goals per home game in the Championship this season
83% of their home games have made it over 2.5 goals. So no doubt they are likely to be a big threat to Leeds in this game. This is their first home game this season against a side currently sitting in the top six with them. Preston are currently the top-scoring side in the Championship, but they haven’t been bad defensively either. They have opened the scoring in 9 of their 12 league games this season and three points would lift them above Leeds.
Preston v Leeds Head to Head
Leeds won both league meetings last season to nil
Preston have won one of their last five at home against Leeds
Both teams have scored in one of the last six meeting in all competitions
Leeds have lost one of the last 10 against Preston in all competitions
Leeds News and Form
Leeds have been patchy with their form since the end of August. They are W3 D1 L3 in their last seven Championship fixture. They claimed a home win over Birmingham on the weekend, which continued their very good season at Elland Road. However, they haven’t been so good on the road lately. Leeds have lost their last two league away games, both one-goal margins defeat happening at Charlton and Millwall.
Overall they are W4 L2 on the road this season, but their form has just taken a hit. Leeds have averaged 1.8 goals per game this season on their travels and have only conceded four. They have banked a clean sheet in three of their six away games. Leeds have also been leading at the halftime break in half of their away games, scoring 8 of their 11 away goals in the second half of games. Like Preston, Leeds have also scored the first goal in 9 of their 12 games.
