Poland v Colombia Betting Tips
Poland will be disappointed with their 2-1 loss against Senegal in their opener and this because they were the better of the two sides and had the better of the game. However, they couldn’t get their big man Robert Lewandowski into the game against Senegal’s big defence and that was a surprise that they could not solve that problem. There was a bit of quality lacking around the penalty box it has to be said from them. That leaves Poland with a W2 D1 L1 record in their last four and now they have a tougher challenge as they go up against Colombia in what is a battle for survival. Robert Lewandowski is the bet365 first goalscorer favourite at 7/2 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 21st, 2018 at 8:46 p.m.) and will take some backing still because of his track record for his country.
It’s likely that Poland will have worked hard at figuring out how to get a better supply line to him. Poland have scored in each of their last four matches and with a total of ten goals in that sequence so they are not a goal-shy side at the moment. It just didn’t come together for them against Senegal. They are far from being one of the better defensive sides in this tournament and both teams to score at bet365 makes a strong proposition for our Poland v Colombia betting tips. Poland finished their World Cup qualifiers so strongly but have won just two of their last seven matches now (D2 L3). They are better than that.
Colombia went to the World Cup on the back of a bit of a shaky and unimpressive qualification campaign. They were toppled 2-1 in a massive shock by Japan in their tournament opener but they weren’t helped out by going down to ten men so early in the game. They conceded a penalty and a red card in the third minute and that just left them facing an uphill battle. Naturally, they conceded a lot of possession to the Asians in the game (over 60%). Despite being given a glimmer of hope with an equaliser from a free kick before halftime, the South Americans couldn’t hold out.
Subsequently, Colombia became the first ever South American side to lose to an Asian side in the history of the World Cup. So can they shake things up and get themselves on track? Well, they have won just two of their last ten games now so they’re not running hot and have managed just the one goal in their last three games. This is probably going to be tight and in the bet365 correct score market, we like the value on a Poland 2-1 option at 12/1 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from June 21st, 2018 at 8:46 p.m.) as we see them as being the stronger of the two. Colombia’s last three defeats have all been by that very scoreline.
Poland v Colombia Head to Head
There has only been the one meeting between the two side before and that was a friendly back in 2006 which Colombia won 2-1.
Who will win – Poland v Colombia Predictions
Neither impressed all that much in their openers. Colombia were hampered by being a man down, but we are going to go with Poland for our prediction in this one. They may just have enough quality to create a chance or two for Lewandowski to help them across the line.
