Norwich v Sheffield Wednesday Prediction & Betting Tips – 9th December 20177th December 2017 / lee
Norwich v Sheffield Wednesday Championship, 9th December 5.30pm
The Canaries cannot find their winning touch in the league and they are not producing the goals which suggest that they may once against struggle in this one. They go into the game three points back of the Owls and the visitors will be showing up with a good unbeaten streak of form going, but they have drawn each to their last four games. Will anyone be able to find a winner in the clash at Carrow Road on Saturday evening? Norwich are 6/5 to take the home win, with the draw at 5/2 and Sheffield Wednesday at 27/10.
Norwich v Sheffield Wednesday Betting Tips
It has been a rough ride for Norwich recently. They were in such good form through September until around mid October and then it all fell apart. They are now D2 L5 in their last seven league games in the Championship and are struggling. They have avoided defeat in their last two at Carrow Road though with back to back draw against Barnsley and Preston but they are winless in seven on home soil (D5 L2). A 1-1 correct score option at William Hill is at 11/2 odds for the game. Overall this season Norwich have won just the two home games in a W2 D5 L3 record. They have only scored the eight goals on home soil this season but defensively they haven’t been all that bad and only 20% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals. 50% of their games at Carrow Road have produced exactly two goals and three of their five draws on home soil have been by a 1-1 scoreline.
Nelson Oliveira has five league goals to his name this season for the Canaries making him their top scorer and three of those have been at Carrow Road. No other Norwich player has managed more than one at home. This doesn’t have the looks of being a high scoring game and both teams not to score at William Hill is a decent enough poke at 6/5. Each of the last four between these two clubs at Carrow Road have gone under 2.5 goals, three of them going under 1.5 goals. Last season Norwich only took a point from their two games against the Owls and they have won just one of their previous twelve championship matches against Sheffield Wednesday (D2 L9). The Owls will go into the fixture on a seven match unbeaten streak of form in the second tier, but they have drawn their last four games so the draw in the match outright should have massive appeal.
The Owls have drawn their last two out on the road against Ipswich and Reading and are unbeaten in their last three on the road. Overall though they have gone W2 D4 L4 on their travels this season but have just the one win in their last eight, which to their credit did come recently at Aston Villa. They have not been particularly prolific this season either but have scored seven more goals than the Canaries have managed this season. The half time draw at William Hill is appealing 6/5 odds as Wednesday have only been losing at half time in two for their ten road games this season and 82% of their goals conceded away from home this season have come in the second half of matches. Sheffield Wednesday have only netted the eight road games this season, failing to score in four of those away games.
Who will win – Norwich v Sheffield Wednesday Predictions
The draw will have the most appeal in this one because Norwich aren’t doing enough to back with confidence, while the Owls have improved after a disappointing start to the season, but will have been frustrated with the number of draws they have produced recently.
