Luton News and Form
Luton collected three points from a solid away win at Accrington on the weekend. That leaves them still within touching distance of claiming the League One title this season. Lincoln are currently 21 matches undefeated on home soil so it is hard to imagine that they are going to slip up in this one against the relegation-threatened team. Luton have scored in each of their last eight home fixtures and overall this season they have posted a W15 D6 L0 record on home soil this term. Home and away combined Luton have only suffered one defeat since the middle of October last year in the division. It has been that dominant from them.
At home in the league, Luton averaged 2.5 goals per home game and they have conceded only 16 home goals all campaign. That is an average of 0.76 goals per home game against them. Because of their high scoring output, almost 60% of their home games have gone over 2.5 goals. In total Luton have claimed a clean sheet in 52% of home fixtures. However, their 15 home victories this season the Hatters have won 11 of them by at least a two goal margin. Luton have scored at least two goals in each of their last four home fixtures and they have been leading at the halftime break in 12 of 21 home games. Luton have also opened the scoring in 17 home games this season.
Luton v AFC Wimbledon Head to Head
Luton were 2-0 winners at Wimbledon in October
The overall head to head is even at four wins each and three draws
This season’s earlier meeting was the first in the league since 2016
Lutino are W2 D1 L1 in their four previous home games against Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon News and Form
Wimbledon are three points from safety sat in the relegation zone but their current form is bad at all. They have only lost one of their last nine league fixtures which was at home against Gillingham backing March. There are currently on a three-match sequence of drawn fixtures in the division after a 1-1 tie against Bristol Rovers last Friday. Wimbledon are undefeated in their last six away games, winning four of those so they do have a bit of momentum behind them. Overall this season away from home in the division Wimbledon have earned a W7 D4 L10 record.
However, Wimbledon have lost seven of their nine games played this season away from home against the current top 10 sides (D2). So this of course is no easy game for them and Wimbledon have averaged just 0.76 goals per away game this season. They have actually done okay in defence with a clean sheet in 33% of all their away games and just 33% of all their away games have gone over 2.5 goals. All seven of the away wins that Wimbledon have produced this season have been by a one-goal margin. Of their 10 away defeats, six of them have been by just the one-goal margin. Wimbledon have been level at the halftime break in 12 of their road fixtures this season and they have produced 62% of their away goals in the second period of fixtures. They have conceded two-thirds of their away goals after the halftime break as well.
Luton v AFC Wimbledon Tips & Odds
Who will win – Luton v AFC Wimbledon Predictions
Wimbledon deserve a lot of credit for the way they are trying to get themselves safe, but they face such a powerful home side in this one. Luton have to be favourites to collect maximum points from the game but it is worth having a look at Wimbledon to be level at the halftime break.
