League One Predictions and Tips – 20th October 201818th October 2018 / lee
The busy League One season doesn’t have the luxury of breaks for international games, so it is easier to keep up with the current form. Here are our League One predictions and tips for this weekend’s round of action.
Peterborough v Accrington
This is one of the top clashes this weekend in the division as the second-placed Posh play host to sixth-placed Accrington. The current form is actually with the visitors a little bit as Stanley have won four of their last five games (L1). It’s been strong stuff from them all season and they had a good W3 D2 L1 away record this season. Peterborough have played three home games against sides currently in the top four along with them and have taken just a D1 L2 record from those. An Accrington – Draw Double Chance looks fantastic value at 8/13 odds* (betting odds taken on October 18th, 2018 at 4:38 pm).
Blackpool v Wimbledon
It’s getting a bit chilly up in the northwest, much like Blackpool’s winning form this season. To their credit Pool have only lost one game this season in a W3 D7 L1 record so far. They have drawn their last three in a row and it’s a wonder where they are going to find that extra edge to put more wins on the board, from. Still, they are going up against a Wimbledon side who are at sixes-and-sevens beneath them in the table, actually just above the drop zone. We feel a home win to nil fits the bill very nicely at 9/4 odds * (betting odds taken on October 18th, 2018 at 4:38 pm).
Doncaster v Gillingham
We were trying to look for a home banker in League One predictions and tips this weekend and came up with Donny. They have home form this season which reads W3 D2 L1 and they only suffered their first home loss of the last in their last fixture at the Keepmoat. And that was against the free-scoring Fleetwood. Gillingham have lost four of their last six and have lost half of their away matches this season as well. Overall home and away they have one win in their last ten, so Donny should be able to ride their odds-on favouritism at 4/6 to get three points* (betting odds taken on October 18th, 2018 at 4:38 pm).
Shrewsbury v Sunderland
The Black Cats hit the road to make a trip to Shrewsbury this weekend looking to extend their unbeaten streak in the division to five. Overall this term they have only lost one which was out on the road at Burton in mid-September. They are W1 D1 in their two road games since then. They didn’t play last weekend so should be well rested and they have won all three games against sides currently 17th or lower in the league away from home. The Shrews don’t have the winning form to really warrant too much of a look, but are undefeated in their last five home games (W2 D3), conceding just the four home goals all term. A draw no bet on Sunderland at 4/5 odds looks solid* (betting odds taken on October 18th, 2018 at 4:38 pm).
