Germany v Mexico Prediction & Betting Tips – World Cup 201816th June 2018 / lee
Germany v Mexico World Cup 2018, 17th June – 4.00 p.m
(Full time: 0:1 – goals: Lozano 35′)
The reigning world champions Germany make their entrance into this summer tournament on Sunday as they take on Mexico in Group F. This is a group which the Germans are expected to win and they can take a big confident step towards doing that by claiming three points in this fixture. Mexico have only one of their last four games played and suffered a big loss against the Germans at last summer’s Confederations Cup. Here we take a look at Germany v Mexico betting tips,

Germany v Mexico Betting Tips
It is interesting to look at the form Germany as they are just W1 D3 L2 in their last six games played. How worried will they be about that lack of winning form? They probably will not be stressing too much because when it does come to tournament time they are usually switched on. They have been to at least the final four in each of their last six major international competitions. It’s pretty hard to knock that and they are the reigning champions will have a lot at stake in this one. They probably will not be goal shy at the World Cup and in the bet365 correct score market a Germany 2-1 option is at 7/1 odds* (betting odds taken on June 13, 2018 at 11:35 PM). That is going up as one of our main predictions for Germany v Mexico and that is because Germany have not been their usual efficient and tight selves in defence.
Germany have conceded in seven of their last eight fixtures and during that run Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Northern Ireland have managed to find the back of the net against them. So in this opener for them in Group F is worth having a flutter on both teams to score at even money odds with bet365* (betting odds taken on June 13, 2018 at 11:35 PM). They do boast plenty of scoring power themselves with Thomas Muller and Timo Werner expected to show up well for them and youngster Werner is trading at a shorter price than Muller is in the World Cup 2018 golden boot market at bet365. Even though the wins haven’t been there lately for Germany it’s still hard to picture them actually losing a game as they have suffered just two defeats since their Euro 2016 exit but they were both in their last three games (against Brazil and Austria). They probably won’t take too much to get up and running and slip into their usual tournament mode but they would have wanted some better preparation.
Mexico, therefore, will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet and this is definitely a game where our predictions are leading us over 2.5 goals which is at 9/10 odds with bet365* (betting odds taken on June 13, 2018 at 11:35 PM). Mexico won their qualification zone at something of a canter but they have won only two of their last five games and the goals have dried up for them. Mexico have actually failed to score in three of their last four games played (W1 D1 L2) and that would be a disappointing return from them. But we still fancy them to make an impression against Germany and therefore that makes a prediction of Mexico getting on the scoresheet even more valuable. The Mexicans have a great track record of getting past the group stage, and it is likely to come down to a battle between themselves and Sweden for the other qualification spot in Group F along with Germany.
Germany v Mexico Head to Head
Three times before Germany and Mexico have met and each of them have been competitive games as well. All three of them have made it over 2.5 goals and both teams scored in each of the games as well. The only World Cup meeting previously between them was in 1988 with Germany taking a 2-1 victory. Then in 2005, Germany took a 4-3 win over Mexico in the confederations cup. It was in last year’s Confederations Cup that they last met and Germany thumped Mexico 4-1.
Who will win – Germany v Mexico Predictions
Mexico will probably give Germany a good workout in this one even though El Tri don’t look a major threat. But Germany have conceded a lot of uncharacteristic goals lately and they haven’t been running in hot form, but still, they are so good at tournament football that they should win this. Back a Germany to win and both teams to score option which looks great value in our Germany v Mexico betting tips.
