France News and Form
Right from the kick-off in their opening fixture against South Korea, France were on the front foot. Their fullbacks were pretty much playing as extra wingers throughout the entire fixture. France comfortably eased their way to a 4-0 success. It was a performance from which it is easy to see why they are the tournament front runners. Eugenie Le Sommer opened the scoring for them before captain and defender Wendie Renard weighed in with a couple. Another of their star players Amandine Henry completed the scoring. That victory continued some great form that France have been showing recently.
That is a six-match winning streak that the French are currently on and they have scored at least two goals in each of those successes. They have also only conceded two goals in a sequence of fixtures, earning four clean sheets in that run. In total France have scored 22 goals in their last six fixtures. This one against Norway though is likely to be a bit more challenging for them. The last time Norway and France met was back in a friendly fixture in 2017, which ended in a 1-1 draw. They are in brilliant form at the moment are France, will they simply keep their hot streak going?
Norway News and Form
Norway are without their 23-year-old superstar and Ballon d’Or winner Ada Hegerberg because of her refusal to play for her country since 2017 because of what she sees as unfair treatment to female players by the Norwegian Football Federation. So that is a big loss for Norway on such a big stage, but they opened their World Cup account with a very good 3-0 victory over Nigeria Women. That is four wins in their last five games played now by the Norwegians (L1). Still, they are not short of quality players still and they are the favourites to get out of this group alongside France.
There the key player is Nareb Mjelde who plays her football for Chelsea, while the goalscoring responsibilities are going to largely fall upon the shoulders of Lisa-Marie Karlseng Utland. Utland got their second goal of their opening success over Nigeria Women. The Norwegians scored all three of their goals in the first half of that fixture so were able to ease back and conserve some energy. Norway is one of the more tactically adaptable sides that you will see at the World Cup because they don’t just rely on playing one way. But in this one, they are coming upside who are just looking pretty formidable at the moment.

Who will win – France v Norway Predictions
Both of these will face a much tougher challenge in this one than either of them received in their respective opening fixtures. Norway are not going to be a pushover but France are just looking so good at the moment that it has to be them who are backed to collect the win. It may be worth looking at both teams getting on the scoresheet though
