England v Switzerland International Friendly Preview, 11th September 8.00pm
England were taught a tough lesson by Spain over the weekend, that the Three Lions are not close enough to the elite teams in the world. England suffered a 2-1 loss, their first home defeat under Gareth Southgate. Next up for them is Switzerland who went out and piled six goals past Iceland in their Nations League opener over the weekend. Read our England v Switzerland betting tips for more.

England News and Form
So the Nations League opener at Wembley against Spain did not go England’s way as they suffered a 2-1 defeat. They did take the lead in the game through Marcus Rashford in a well-worked goal and the Manchester United man had their best chances throughout. Rashford is at 9/5 in the anytime goalscorer market* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.) for this one. England were clearly second best against Spain and again their midfield did not cope that well.
There’s nobody there pulling the strings and controlling the game for them. Clean sheets have been few and far between for the Three Lions over the summer and therefore we have to have a look at both teams to score at even money* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.). England were actually on a twelve-match winning streak at Wembley before that defeat against the Spaniards. So overall they do have pretty home strong form. Definitely a work in progress still, but the positives are there.
Switzerland News and Form
The Swiss totally destroyed Iceland in their opening Nations League match over the weekend, sticking up a 6-0 win. That was some scoreline from them and it leads us to backing this one to go over 2.5 goals at 11/10 odds* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.). Switzerland are actually not in bad form at all really as they are now W9 D4 L2 since the end of August last year. They do carry a scoring threat with them and they will give England a pretty good workout you feel.
Switzerland looked good in the midfield area against Iceland over the weekend and they probably aren’t going to make many changes. Xherdan Shaqiri had a really good game for them in the middle of the park and the is always worth a little flutter to get on the scoresheet. The Liverpool man is at 10/3 odds in the anytime goalscorer market for this one* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on September 10th, 2018 at 6:35 p.m.). They will probably have something of a sterner test in defence against England than they did against Iceland.
England v Switzerland Head to Head
England have won their last two meetings with Switzerland and both of those were 2-0 wins for the Three Lions. England absolutely dominates the head to head as they are W15 D5 L3 against Switzerland. They are W5 D1 in their last six. The English are undefeated in their last ten matches against Switzerland.
Who will win – England v Switzerland Predictions
The Three Lions are still lacking a couple of pieces, notably a creative midfielder and that may hamper them in this one. Both sides could make changes from competitive action over the weekend. The draw looks the most likely outcome in our England v Switzerland betting tips.
