Crystal Palace v Southampton Premier League, 16th September 12.30pm
What a rocky start to the season it has been for Crystal Palace who have lost all four of their games so far and have had a change of manager. In comes Roy Hodgson to try and steady the Selhurst Park ship after Frank de Boer got the boot. Can the Saints, who haven’t discovered a winning touch yet this season, go there and take advantage of the mess that the Eagles are in? Southampton are 7/5 to win this, with the Eagles at 2/1. The draw can be baked at 11/5.

Crystal Palace v Southampton Betting Tips
It’s been a mess at Selhurst Park so far, can they bring in a bit of cheer with three points on Saturday? They are bottom of the table going into the weekend with four straight defeats and without having managed to put a single goal on the board. They lost 1-0 at Burnley last weekend, but played pretty well and were unlucky not to have the ball in the back of the net. But it’s results that count and Palace have not had a positive one. Under 2.5 goals at Coral fetches a price of 4/6, while under 1.5 goals may have appeal at 2/1. The Eagles now have Roy Hodgson in charge and they have won their last two on home soil against the Saints, both to nil as well. Southampton are the shorter price of the two to win to nil, trading at 3/1 with Coral. Despite looking a bit lost this season, Christian Benteke is 6/4 favourite in the anytime goalscorer market.
Southampton haven’t been going great guns but they offer far more attacking threat than Palace do. Charlie Austin is a 7/4 anytime goalscorer option, with Manolo Gabbiadini and Shane Long at 11/4. The Saints have gone W1 D2 L1 for the season and they have played just the one away game. That ended in a 0-0 draw at Huddersfield. In the Coral correct score market, a 0-0 draw is a 15/2 price while the shortest priced option is the 1-1 draw at 11/2. Two of Southampton’s four games this season have ended in a 0-0 draw. The Saints have failed to score in three of their four league games this season and go into this on the back of a home loss against Watford last weekend. The Saints lost this corresponding fixture 3-0 last season but took wins over Palace in their other league meeting and in the EFL Cup. Southampton are W3 L1 in their last four games in all competitions against Crystal Palace. The Saints may be solid enough at the back, but can they deliver up front?
Who will win – Crystal Palace v Southampton Predictions
Draw: What do you do with this game? Palace are in the weeds while Southampton aren’t exactly terrorizing the defences of opposition at the moment. Palace have a bit of home form going against the Saints and they should be much more organised now in just doing basic stuff right under Hodgson. But still, it’s probably safest settling on a draw.
