Chelsea new 4/1 favourites for FA Cup success

9th January 2017 / lee

It could be a highly profitable season for Antonio Conte in his first term in charge of the London club. Not only are Chelsea favourites to go on and win the Premier league title, they are the new favourites to win the FA Cup as well. The Blues saw off Peterborough at Stamford bridge in a 4-1 win, despite John Terry collecting a red card before the 70th minute. They stay at home for the fourth round and take on Championship outfit Brentford. Chelsea are now new 4/1 favourites with Ladbrokes to win the title.

Second favourites are Manchester City at 5/1 who were ruthless in their demolition of Premier League opposition West Ham on Friday night. The Citizens stay out on the road and will await the winner of the Crystal Palace v Bolton replay in the fourth round.

FA Cup holders Manchester United get a comfortable home draw for the fourth round as they face up to Championship strugglers Wigan. Arsenal have seen their price for FA Cup glory this season drift away as they have to go to either Southampton or Norwich for the fourth round. Arsenal produced a come-from-behind win over Preston in the third round.

Newcastle, who first need to get through a replay against Birmingham, are the the shortest priced Championship side left in the running at a price of 50/1, Lincoln City and Sutton United (the latter needing to come through a replay against AFC Wimbledon) are the rank outsiders for success. League One side Millwall, who downed Premier League side Bournemouth are rewarded with another shot at a Premier League scalp as they face Watford.
