Cardiff News and Form

Cardiff had a seven-match undefeated streak of league form snapped just before the international break. That was ended in a 4-2 loss at West Brom. It leaves Cardiff at W4 D4 L3 this season in the Championship and sitting in mid-table. A positive for the Bluebirds is that they have scored at least two goals in each of their last three games. Considering they had netted only three in their previous four, that’s quite an improvement. They are now on a six-match scoring streak.

Cardiff are undefeated on home soil this season in the division, posting a superb W4 D1 record in the Welsh capital. They have taken a clean sheet in their last two home victories as well. In total, they are averaging only 0.6 goals against them per home fixture, while they have scored at an average of almost two per game. Three of Swansea’s home wins have been by a one-goal margin and the Swans have also been leading at half time in three of their five home games (D2).

Cardiff v Sheffield Wednesday Head to Head

Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in six against Cardiff (W2 D4)
Each of the last four meetings have gone under 2.5 goals
The last three meetings in Wales have ended in a draw

Sheffield Wednesday News and Form

It has been a good season from Sheffield Wednesday so far who went into the international break on the back of a 1-0 home win over Wigan. Their away record for the season is W3 L3 and they suffered a 1-0 loss in their last road game. That was at Hull, snapping a two-match winning streak on the road that they were on. In each of the three away wins that Shefilfed Wednesday have recorded this season, they have scored at least three goals.

It is worth noting that Sheffield Wednesday’s away wins have all been against sides who are starting the weekend down in the bottom five in the Championship. All three of their away losses this season have been by one goal margin only and they have been trailing at the half time break in two away fixtures. Sheffield Wednesday have opened the scoring in seven of their eleven matches (home and away) played this season in the Championship.

Who will win – Cardiff v Sheffield Wednesday Predictions

The recent trend of drawn matches between the two clubs could well continue in this one. Sheffield Wednesday are hit and miss on the road but look more than capable of sticking in there against the Bluebirds. Draw.
