Charlton v Carlisle FA Cup second round
December 3, 2011 - Kick off 15.00 GMT
League One leaders Charlton put an end to Huddersfield‘s outstanding 43-match unbeaten league run with a 2-0 victory over them on Monday. The win takes The Addicks seven points clear at the top of the table, and will do their confidence no harm at all. It was also their seventh straight win in all competitions, enough to bring a certain element of trepidation to Saturday‘s visitors.
Carlisle United - currently in eighth place in the division - can take heart from their 3-1 league win at The Valley back in March, but fresher in the memory will be their 4-0 drubbing by Charlton in October.
Bradley Wright-Phillips has been prolific this season, having netted 14 already, and he is complimented well by Yann Kermorgant and Hogan Ephraim - both of whom scored against Huddersfield. In short, we feel Charlton have the skill, power and momentum to brush Carlisle aside and make it through to the third round.
