Charlton Athletic v Dagenham and Redbridge English League One September 25, 2010 - Kick off 15.00 GMT
Charlton are hoping to go one better than last season when they reached the play-offs only to be beaten by Swindon at the semi-final stage. It‘s been a reasonable start for the Addicks, who have collected ten points from their first seven matches and they should prove too strong for their fellow London opponents on Saturday. The two teams recently met at The Valley in the Johnstone‘s Paint Trophy and Phil Parkinson‘s team ran out 1-0 winners that day, so there‘s little reason to oppose them here.
Especially when you consider that the Daggers have lost all three of their League One away matches to date and are finding life tough after achieving promotion through the play-offs. Star striker Paul Benson left the club to join Charlton in the summer and he could prove to be a thorn in their side this weekend, with Pawel Abbott waiting in the wings to try and score his first league goal for the south London club.
