Switzerland v Honduras World Cup 2010
June 25, 2010 - Kick off 19.30 GMT
A 10-man Switzerland team managed to hold Chile for 67 minutes and break a World Cup record for not conceding in the process. However, Ottmar Hitzfeld will be more preoccupied with scoring at the other end against the Hondurans, with a win likely to be needed if the Swiss are to make the last sixteen of the competition. Although they were second best against the south Americans, it was always going to be a struggle after Valon Behrami had stupidly got himself sent off for an elbow, although his team-mates did nullify the opposition successfully and could have even pinched an equaliser.
It would have been no surprise to see Spain score six goals against Honduras on Monday night, with David Villa missing a penalty and the central American team being completely outclassed. They have practically no chance of going through and have shown to be completely lacking in quality, but for the defensive capabilities of Maynor Figueroa and the midfield marshalling of Wilson Palacios. Gokhan Inler will look to drive the Swiss forward and we are likely to see Eren Derdiyok restored to the starting line-up.
Best odds for the Switzerland win is 1.57 with Boylesports.
