Slovenia v USA World Cup 2010
June 18, 2010 - Kick off 15.00 GMT
While the nation of England complain about the team‘s performance against USA in Rustenburg, very few people seem to realise that the States are a half-decent team who could go a long way in this competition. Anyone who watched the Confederations Cup last summer will have seen Bob Bradley‘s team reach the final and the coach has made them hard to beat. Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey will look to run the show in the middle of the park and whether goalkeeper Tim Howard plays or not shouldn‘t make too much difference to the overall result.
It was ‘job done‘ as far as Slovenia were concerned against Algeria, although this was a far from impressive performance from a team who are good at keeping things tight but not particularly adventurous going forward. Matjaz Kek certainly has his team well-organised, although there were a couple of occasions where Bostjan Cesar and Marko Suler looked vulnerable and this might be exploited by the powerful running of Jozy Altidore. Considering that the team‘s best player is someone just released by West Brom (Robert Koren), we should back America to take a step closer to the last sixteen.
