Brighton & Hove Albion v Exeter City February 27, 2010
On the basis that the Seagulls have won just two home matches and lost ten at the Withdean Stadium, this might seem like an odd selection! However, there are clear signs that Brighton are finding their feet under Gus Poyet, with Tuesday night‘s 2-1 win at Charlton suggesting that they will prove too strong for their south-coast rivals. It‘s been a tricky season for Albion, who dispensed with the services of Russell Slade after a poor start to the campaign, although four points from matches at Elland Road and The Valley suggests that they‘re currently on an upward curve. The manager has stopped feuding with Nicky Forster and the latter should be a threat to the Grecians defence.
Exeter were only promoted to League One this season and they‘re struggling to find the necessary improvement to maintain their third flight status. Paul Tisdale has seen his team lose eleven of their sixteen away matches this season, with City having lost seven of their last eight away matches. Saturday‘s home defeat against Stockport was a big kick in the teeth for a team now occupying one of the relegation places and they‘re averaging just a goal a game this season which could be their downfall.
Best odds for the Brighton win is 1.90 at Bet365.
