Chesterfield vs Accrington Stanley October 3, 2009
Thirteen of Chesterfield‘s fourteen points this season have come at home, with the Recreation Ground proving to be a fortress for John Sheridan‘s team. They survived a late comeback to beat Grimsby 3-2 on Wednesday night, although the scoreline should have been more comprehensive and their previous home match saw them beat Macclesfield 4-1. Striker Jack Lester is probably too good for League Two, as his joint-top placing in the goalscorer chart proved last season, while Mark Allott was snapped up by Tranmere last summer from Oldham, only to make an immediate switch to Chesterfield.
Accrington have had a modest start to the campaign, although they are also bagging most of their points on home soil, having won just one of their five away matches so far. Stanley scraped a 2-2 draw at Port Vale on Tuesday, although they‘re likely to have more difficulty against a team who have beaten Notts County at home this season.
